Title: [[ Turning Tables ]]
Description: For Zenith only.
Madelyn - June 11, 2007 11:40 PM (GMT)
She heard their whispering earlier, the other librarians. There were secrets about herself that she did not even know, however they seemed to be spreading 'bout the place like flies. A thin frown crossed her lips as she shook her head and glanced down at the book in her hand, having completely lost alphabetical track in her mind. I can't keep getting distracted... The book she was holding was in a rare language, most likely one of the more native tounges that had disappeared within the new times. She couldn't understand a lot of the books that this library held, but the images always caught her eyes. She had a 'thing' for bright and detailed images that could tell the story without words. And seeing as they let her live in the library, everything seemed to fit together.
Madelyn slipped the book into it's desired spot and picked up another from the pile at her feet, tracing the spine with her finger as she delicately read the title. Another unknown language. Yet another story that she would never know. Madelyn sighed and gently tip-toed down the aisle, letting her free hand run across the middle bookshelf until she reached her destination. From here she could peer out of the aisle into the actual lobby where several different people of awkward races sat, obviously stuck inside their own world with their chosen books. She could also see the front counter, which wasn't too far away, where a few of the other librarians gathered. They're whispers were audible, but not distinguishable. However, Madelyn already knew what they were talking about; her. About how she appeared out of no where, about how she spent most of her time in the library, and about how she barely spoke a word to anyone. Was she that weird?
She pouted and leaned her forhead against the bookcase, carefully sliding the book into it's previously empty slot. Her eyes narrowed as she placed her palms against the ledges of the case, sighing gently. What was this that she was feeling, and why? It was almost an empty, pointless emotion that was taking over her entire body. They were talking about her and she couldn't even defend herself.
Her eyes slowly began to close, a thin yawn escaping from her lips. Suddenly a hand tapped at her bare shoulder and she jumped, both hands rushing to her chest as if to hold her heart in. She almost gasped, staring wide-eyed at the Priest whom she had met not too long ago. She noticed him smile warmly and place a hand on her shoulder causing a childlike smile to adorn hers. So far he had been the most kindest person to her, even fixing up the mess on her back that covered her mostly in blood when she was first discovered. Everyonce in awhile she would cringe from a faint, throbbing pain. However, she was too nervous to reach back and discover what was there.
"My my, you're looking a lot healthier, Madelyn. I can see this library is doing a good job for you, hm? I just stopped by to visit, see how you and you're...injury were doing."
Madelyn chuckled softly and lowered her head a little bit, nodding sheepishly. A few strands of hair tumbled out from behind her ears but her hands rushed to push them back.
"I, ....I am doing alright. I love these books, a lot. "
She turned a little to show him the large sheet of material that was covering most of her back, a few marks of red staining through. There were two little bumps that were noticably pushing upwards.
"It stopped bleeding, mostly. I was planning on stopping by and seeing you today, as well as praying."
She turned to face him again, shrugging her shoulders lightly as he removed his hand and patted down his robe. She knew this was a bit of an awkward situation, she always noticed something in his eyes that he was not telling her; another secret that would be kept from her begging mind. He nodded calmly and gently kissed her forhead, reassuringly waving as he headed towards the other librarians. Madelyn nodded, realizing she should hurry and get back to work. In order to catch up, she picked up about 6 or 7 books from the floor and began to walk across the library, rather annoyed they were being shelved in the wrong section. Then she came to a hault about 3/4ths of the way through; she was stuck. Looking down, her delicately laced white sun-dress had gotten caught on a loose nail from a chair, tugging a small hole the more she attempted to move forward. Her brows knit together as she paused, wondering how she was going to get herself out of this predicament.
Zenith Meria - June 12, 2007 04:01 PM (GMT)
It was a beautiful day in Lómëdor with the sun beating down on the city dwellers as well as those that had just come to visit. Among the people of Lómëdor was an angel with large white wings spreading out from his back, a few of the people he passed instantly knew who he was since this angel had helped them some time ago. His name was Zenith Meria, a dedicated follower of Lothlómendil as well as one of her fully trained Divine Protectors. The reason he was in the grand city of Lómëdor was to visit the Parmamar Library for the day, reading was a pastime of Zeniths and he had not been able to get to the Parmamar Library for sometime now and was really looking forward to settling down with a good book for awhile.
The black boots of the angel pressed against the ground with every step that he took, his long black trousers moving as the wind swept against the them, on his upper half the angels arms were fully shown as he wore and sleeveless white cleric tunic. It was very clear he was not prepared for any kind of battles, which was true as Zenith only wanted to relax today, he had even left all of his Familiars in Estolad under the care of an old friend, or at least he thought he had left them all there. One of his familiars had, shall we say, sneaked away with Zenith by hiding in the travel pack he had taken with him. Popping its head out of the travel pack the tiny familiar, who was actually a small grey mouse, looked around to see where Zenith was heading for.
However the mouse was a little shocked to then hear its master say, “Keal you might as well come out of the bag I know your there.” The mouse lifted its little head up to look at Zenith before it darted up the travel packs strap and onto Zeniths shoulder. This little mouse had become very close to the angel, and had amazingly helped him many times in the past during various battles.
Drawing nearer the Library Zenith said, “Now Keal, no running off in here ok? Stay by my side at all times.” The tiny little mouse nodded showing that it understood. It was not long after that before Zenith could see the grand entrance to the large Library only a few feet away from him. Pushing the door open Zenith and Keal entered the Library which seemed to be rather packed on this day, another thing the angel noticed right away was that a group of the Librarians had gathered together talking about someone that went by the name of Madelyn, Zenith did not know whom this Madelyn was but the fact that these Librarians were talking about her in a large group seemed rather disrespectful. The other thing to catch his eye was the sight of a Priest in the Library, after all it had been awhile since Zenith had been here and in all the times present at this Library he had never seen a local Priest walking within it.
Letting out a small sigh Zenith headed off towards one of the large bookshelves to try and find something that he could read. With luck there would be more books in on this day to help the angel on how to raise his Chocobo Chick, all he had managed to learn for the last book he had gotten was how to hatch the egg but now that it was hatched Zenith Meria had very little knowledge on how to actually raise the chick now. He looked through the shelf seeing a few misplaced books, this was always something that got on the nerves of the angel, if someone took a book out to read they could at least put it back where they had gotten it.
Not seeing any books on the subject at hand Zenith let out another small sigh, once doing this he then heard Keal let out a small squeak and point his little arm to something across the Library. Looking to see what Keal was pointing at the angel saw a young looking woman seemingly caught on something. Doing what he thought was right Zenith tucked his large white wings into his back and headed in the direction of the woman, once getting there the Archangel of life said, “Allow me to help you there miss.” Then lowering himself to the ground Zenith very carefully removed her dress from the loose nail it was caught on.
With the dress now free from the nail the angel got back up to his feet and smiled towards the woman before he said, “There you go Miss, you should be able to walk without it getting caught again now.” Zenith was happy he had been able to help the woman; he just had to hope that she didn’t mind the help.

[[No worries, yours was good. Mine will suck. :X]]
This was bad, very very bad. She had to free herself before anyone noticed, before anyone came over to offer assistance. For having assistance meant interacting with someone else, most likely someone she didn't know. She started to pout and groan a little, feeling like she was getting ready to cry. This was all too much for her to take in, she had to get these books shelved before night. Even though the librarians allowed her to live here, they forbade her from working after dark. They figured since she did so much during the day, she definately needed a break. Yet another thing they discussed about Madelyn that she would never get to hear on her own. She looked over to where the Priest was standing with an older librarian, most likely the head of the library. The librarian looked distressed, speaking more with her hands than with her lips. The Priest was nodding casually and glanced over towards Madelyn, waving kindly. He must not have seen her stuck. Not thinking, she went to wave back and dropped all 7 books that were in her grasp, a loud series of thumps echoing throughout the building.
"Oh no..."
She went to turn until she heard another rip, hopefully a small one. Looking behind her, she noticed a man approaching and mentally she hoped it wasn't towards her. Most who came in and out of the library never took notice of Madelyn and her clumsiness, usually leaving her to fix her own problems. That was how she desired it, however. Alas he was behind her, there for her. She cringed, preparing herself for any sort of insult tossed her way for being clumsy or in the way. Instead, the man lowered himself to the ground and spoke to her, a soft and calm aura escaping from his body. She inched forward a little, almost as if she were trying to move away from his touch, but slowly calmed down as he removed her dress from the nail with very little effort. He then stood again and her eyes widened, not exactly sure what to expect. With having little experience with people, speaking and interacting, she never really knew what to do when addressed by a stranger. Slowly she nodded and walked forward, stepping infront of her mess and crouching down to the books.
"Uhh..uhm, tha-anks...mm.."
She slurred a little, tears beginning to well in her eyes. Why was this upsetting her so much? Perhaps it was she wasn't used to kindness from anyone else besides the Priest. Or that the man came out of almost no where just to help her. Shaking her head, she allowed her hair to fall from behind her ears as she bent over a little more, picking up each book as if it were a delicately bloomed flower ready to break with ease. These were her life, unfortunately.
Thankfully, no one new had entered the library, so she wasn't in the way of any oncoming traffic. She could take her time removing each precious story from the floor, wiping the dust and grime from the bottoms. She only looked up once to the man whom had helped her, and to her surprise he was still there. Madelyn gulped and looked back down, shaking her head a little bit from side to side. Why was he still there?
Zenith Meria - June 14, 2007 04:26 PM (GMT)
[[ Your post was really good ^_^ Mine is kinda weird though  ]]
After helping the woman get her dress free from the loose nail Zenith noticed that she had dropped some books onto the hard ground of Library. The angel listened to the woman as she said, "Uhh..uhm, tha-anks...mm.." However something in her voice made Zenith feel as though she was upset with something but the Archangel did not want to make her feel uncomfortable by asking if she was ok or not. After all asking someone if they are ok could sometimes be the worst thing to say. It was not very long after the woman had spoken that she lowered her form down towards the floor in order to pick up the books that had fallen.
With each book she picked up Zenith was able to clearly see that this young looking woman truly cared for the books of this establishment, it was nice to see other with a strong passion in books, so strong in fact that they would do be careful even opening the pages to read the perfectly quill written words on the paper. The angel was not sure what to do, he was just standing their like an idiot for a few moments up until the woman looked back round at him. As Zenith saw the woman’s gaze he finally snapped out of the trance like state he was in and carefully moved closer to her.
Once a tiny bit closer the large white winged angel crouched down beside the woman and ever so carefully picked up one of the books. He slowly ran his index finger along the spine of the books cover before saying, “I am so sorry, I should have been helping you pick these up for the start. Please accept my sincerest apologies Miss.” A smile crossed over his lips slowly and Zenith handed the book he had picked up from the floor to the woman. He felt bad for not helping her right away, it was not like him but somehow there was something different about this woman, he could not place his finger on what it was but at that moment in time he had other things to do, such as helping her pick up the books.
As the angel reached for a second book he noticed out of the corner of his eye that the Priest he had seen before was talking to the group of Librarians near the Libraries entrance. Zenith was not sure what they were talking about so he turned his full concentration back to his job at hand. Looking down at the book he held Zenith silent read the title, which was, “One Hundred Easy Ways to Raise a Chocobo.” Seeing this the angel smiled and thought to himself, “This is the book I was looking for, might as well check it out today.” Turning his gaze to the woman again Zenith smiled and very softly and calmly spoke to her, “I have been looking for this book for awhile now, seems like it was fate for me to help you on this day Miss.” He then realised that in the time he had been helping this woman he had still not told her his name, gently he bit his lower lip and said in the same tone as before, “How rude of me, allow me to introduce myself. I am Zenith Meria, an Archangel and Divine Protector of the Goddess of Life Lothlómendil.” Once saying this Zenith continued to smile and hoped the woman would maybe be less nervous now.
