Title: What do I want to be (Evil thread)
Description: Private: PM if you want to join.
Tanya - June 11, 2007 08:48 PM (GMT)
The sun was going down in Lomedor as a young girl walked through the alleys. Her white hair was down going past her shoulders to meet her mid back. She wore a black dress that went down to her ankles as she walked through the dark areas. The sun had finally set and the alley was full of dark shadows. She held her staff tightly as she walked. Her destination was one of danger and evil. The Drital Qu'ellar Pub where many dangerous creatures and beings lurked in the night.
The pub was dark when she got to it. Obviously not in the best kept of conditions it somehow was under the picture she had thought of. But never theless she kept the thoughts of danger that this place would present. She wondered what made her think of comming here but decided against asking herself again. Finally she walked up to the door, the sounds of people inside already reached her ears.
She opened the door and walked in, the room was dark and people spoke as loudly in any pub, with some whispering in corners of deals to strike and accords to make. She watched the people carefully as she went to the bar. "What are ye doing here missy...Ye be looking fer trouble? Cuz thats what you be gitting here." he said as he looked at her. "We ain't the kind to go avoiding hurting little brats like you." he said as he smiled, she could already tell that he had gotten into many fights here. She counted at least five teeth missing, maybe more. The others in the bar looked at her, one of them was about to grab her when she spun her rod then thrust it to the side. A jolt of electricity went out of it hitting the bottle of ale in the corner where a man sat. They looked at her as she kept staring forwards. "I did not come here to play. I came here to work, now let me be." she said pointing the rod at the bartender "Or would you like to see what I can REALY do."she asked. Apparently her bravado and spellwork convinced them of some strength in her for they backed down. "Eh...What do I get you Ma'am?" he asked. She smiled content with the attitude change. "A water please. And that man a new bottle of whatever it was he was drinking" she said gesturing to the man who was morning the loss of his ale looking at the broken glass sadly as if it was his puppy she had fried then she threw some coins on the table. The water was presented as well as the mans bottle. She sat down at the bar and smiled, her rod neatly sitting across her lap. 'Wonder what I shal learn tonight.'
sekeolath - June 11, 2007 09:12 PM (GMT)
In the shadows of the bars corner, Sekeolath laid on the ground watching the new arrival. The reason for none of the ruffians bothering it is because they knew if they tried to fight it, they would die. The dragon soon made its way over to the girl who just scare the crude out of the bartender.
"I see you can handle yourself fairly nicely. Tell me, what is your name and what is your profession?", Sekeolath's horribly beautiful voice ran threw her head. The dragon then noticed that half of the pub was giving her dirty looks, which he quickly vanquished by submitting a large surge of his black aura. This scared the entire pub, with the exception of the girl, to no end. "Hahaha...mortals", The dragon said threw the girls mind unintectionally.
Paige - June 11, 2007 09:44 PM (GMT)
A Pirate sat at a table with her feet propped up on the dirt table and chair leaning back. She was playing with her dagger, weaving it through her fingers with ease. She took a drink of her spiced rum and slammed it back down on the table without fumbling the blade.
She then heard a few people making a commotion. It was the usual thing at the bar, but something was different, the new voice of another female. She looked up to find a young girl holding her own amongst the crowd of mostly seedy men. A smile crossed her face Finally someone with a little more sense than these bumbling drunks!
Paige took her feet off the table and the chair soon fell back onto four legs. She swaggered over to the girl's table with a look of confidence and superiority as she passed the hordes of drunken fools in the bar. She took a seat at her table and gave her a smile " It isn't often that you find another girl in here. At least not a girl who isn't a barmaid or a prostitute. By the looks of things you are neither!" She held out a hand decorated in a few jeweled rings and gold bracelets " I am captain Paige Greer. And you are...?"
Paige noticed potential in this girl. She was obviously not scared of a few burley men and she definitely had the looks. With Paige's help she could turn this girl into a man eater and have her join her crew. If she could persuade the girl of course.
The pirate did not know that the girl was having another conversation in her head and she waited impatiently for an answer. This was not because she was taking a long time to respond, but rather because Paige was quite the impatient girl.
Tanya - June 12, 2007 07:46 PM (GMT)
Tanya sipped her water carefully. The people here stayed away from her as she enjoyed her drink and watched them carefully out of the corner of her eye. She could see a man looking at her. She kept her eye on him but then he turned back. She kept her back to the enterance as a lone shadow moved towards her. "I see you can handle yourself fairly nicely. Tell me, what is your name and what is your profession?" She looked at the shadows below her figuring that the voice came from it. She gave a half smile. "Names Tanya. And I have no profession. I am just a wanderer going around to find myself a profession with my skills." she said.
A woman began to walk towards her, " It isn't often that you find another girl in here. At least not a girl who isn't a barmaid or a mullet. By the looks of things you are neither!" the woman said. By the looks of it she was a pirate. And the way she spoke gave proof to that. " I am captain Paige Greer. And you are...?" she asked as she looked at Tanya. Tanya moved her hand over to the womans. "Tanya Erudne. Pleasure Captian. And I am glad someone finally understands strength like that." She replied. She noticed the people in the bar were giving her a wary look, like she had some sort of evil around her. She did not know it came from the shadow dragon near her.
Paige - June 13, 2007 05:37 PM (GMT)
Paige smiled at the girl. She was definitely a girl that Paige could mold into a femme fatale. She would be the perfect man eater for her crew, becoming a pirate like herself and using the body the gods bestowed her. She took a gulp of her wine without breaking eye contact.
After a drink she began to carry the conversation " So tell me Tanya, what brings you here? This is not exactly the nicest place in the city, but one of the most fun. Do you have a lust for danger? It can be quite addictive." She wanted to know more about Tanya. This girl was not just the merry little house wife thats greatest achievement was baring children. She stood up for herself and was not afraid to put a man in her place. Paige new this by the earlier display of her skills and she wanted to refine those skills and turn her into a weapon wielding, heart breaking, butt kicking vixen like herself.
Paige took another drink of her spiced rum and looked around a bit. Even if her eyes were off the other girl she was still listening. At the moment thought she was also looking for trouble. She was always on the prowl for a fight. Nothing got her off more than throwing herself in harms way and causing a little trouble. Who knows if Tanya wanted a bit of training in Paige's ways maybe she would have her fight the brute she picked out.
The pirate was quite excited with her new find. She had originally come in for the usual bar brawl while her crew were out partying after a resent pillage on the sea. She had found something much more fun and valuable than a fight. She had found another girl to mold into a law breaking maverick. If she would become a pirate she would make Paige a lot more money.
Tanya - June 13, 2007 08:08 PM (GMT)
Tanya quickly became interested in this female pirate. Almost as interested as the pirate was in her. The woman did not treat her as a child like everyone else did, but as something more. The woman looked at her as she took a gulp of what most likely was wine and then spoke. " So tell me Tanya, what brings you here? This is not exactly the nicest place in the city, but one of the most fun. Do you have a lust for danger? It can be quite addictive." Captian Paige asked. Tanya looked at her amazed that someone would ask such a question of her.
But it would make sence. Tanya was only sixteen with a heart for adventure. She hated staying in one place and loved to travel. "I am a wanderer, I travel where my heart leads me. Where adventure waits around every corner. Many mistake me for a meeger common girl. But I travel in search of an occupation. One that fills my passions for travel and adventure and one that can use my skill." As for danger, well that was something that she most often could handle on her own. "But as for danger, I would not really refer to it as a "lust," but danger does cross the path of adventure and that is where my heart lies." she said. "But I have found few that acutally let me fight, most who come across me say i should stay at home and live the life that way. That way is not for me." she replied
Paige - June 14, 2007 03:04 AM (GMT)
The too of them meeting here seemed almost too perfect. She was a traveler, pretty in her youth, looking for a profession in her travels. Paige was a pirate captain that had been looking for more crew mates after a fateful run in with a pirate hunting knight. It was as if they were destined to meet.
Paige gave the girl a smile before starting up once more " Ah, so you are the adventurous type. I too hold the soul of an adventurer. I can not stand the conventional roles of a woman and I feel like the world hold greater purpose for me that what society offers."
Tanya really reminded Paige of herself. Given that Paige was two or three years older, the two girls were kindred souls. They both could not be tied to one place. Tanya was a little more mild than Paige, but she was sure that she could spice that girl up. In time young little Tanya could be turned into the pirate vixen she had the potential to be.
The pirate carried on in a bit more hushed tone " If you are looking for a career that offers adventure, freedom, and so much more than I know just the thing. You remind me of myself so much that I will offer you a bit of training. If you have not guessed I am a pirate. One of the few female captains at sea, and one of the best I assure you. It is one of the most fun jobs in the world. It is really a lifestyle. If you are interested I can teach you about that and a few other skills I have learned along the way."
Paige was talking about using her body to her advantage. Men have done this from the beginning of time to rule. They use brute strength to keep women and each other down. Men saw women as the physically weak ones, but Paige had learned to use her body against men. To Paige men only thought about alcohol and sex. She had most likely come to this conclusion as she had been raised a pirate all her life and the only men she had been around were those in pubs and on ships. She had found that showing a little skin and giving a few compliments could get you whatever you want, whether it be a drink or valuable information on where the big merchants ships are going to be. It had proved very useful to her and she would be more than happy to teach her man eating ways to a deserving girl. This was only secondary however, for she really wanted Tanya to join her int he ranks of a pirate.
Tanya - June 17, 2007 12:59 AM (GMT)
The female pirate gave Tanya a smile as she watched the girl. " Ah, so you are the adventurous type. I too hold the soul of an adventurer. I can not stand the conventional roles of a woman and I feel like the world hold greater purpose for me that what society offers." Tanya was not certian as to what the woman suggested. But then she lowered her tone and leaned forwards. If you are looking for a career that offers adventure, freedom, and so much more than I know just the thing. You remind me of myself so much that I will offer you a bit of training. If you have not guessed I am a pirate. One of the few female captains at sea, and one of the best I assure you. It is one of the most fun jobs in the world. It is really a lifestyle. If you are interested I can teach you about that and a few other skills I have learned along the way." she said.
Tanya froze. So she was right in thinking the woman was a pirate. She was not certain about joining this womans crew. But she was not certian about a lot of other jobs she had been offered as well. She looked back at the water on the bar. About half full, it was similar to the decisions she had made. Dang, A pirate. Life on the high seas, never have to worry about mom yapping at me to do chores. But then again...There is a lot of stuff I would miss on land. But then again, it does not matter. Why let the stuff I want escape me. But it would not be an honest living. And thats what they want from me.' She thought. "The life of a pirate. Seems like a double edged sword to me. Always getting what you want but you have to keep looking behind you for the good guys and their ships." she said.
Paige - June 17, 2007 05:49 PM (GMT)
Paige smiled at the question. She had never really thought of being scared of the good guys because she had been a pirate since birth. It had always been a part of her life. Now they were more of a nuisance than anything else " Well the life of a pirate always has the element of danger. That is why I love it so much. At the same time you are given a second family that love what you love. Your life is rule free as long as you are kind to your crew mates and you listen to your captain. The good guys may try to foil plans, but they are not the kind to be feared. They can not help but help others and that makes them exceedingly predictable. On land things are different as well. You can play low key and blend in with the land lovers, or you can flaunt your ways. The second choice is more dangerous, but offers excitement. On land the only people you need to watch out for are the dock guards."
The pirate finished off the rest of her rum and brought the glass down onto the table hard, making a rather loud thud noise. Her noise did not make the inn silent, as that was common thing in the bar. Also the roars and laughter of the drunken men dwarfed any other noise that may come into play.
Paige then began talking of another pirate life " There are also soloists. They will job with a high paying crew or pay a temporary crew to sail after a certain treasure or ship. They spend much more time on land. Usually they become thieves along with being pirates. I do not mind either path, but I had inherited the first and would have it no other way. If you want my help, you can choose either path to apply your new knowledge too."
Tanya - June 18, 2007 01:02 AM (GMT)
The female pirate seemed happy when Tanya spoke of the danger pirates face on the high seas. Tanya listened intently as Paige spoke, doing her best to ignore the chaos in the pub. Men in the background argued over the placing of bets over a card game. Tanya listened to the female captian as she spoke of the "positive" aspects of being a pirate. She thought about what she said, "A seond family? Sounds interesting...but why am I hearing my moms voice telling me to find a class that I can be proud of. But I really want something with excitement. she thought.
Paige banged her glass on the bar and continued to talk about the life of a solo pirate one who does not stay with one crew. Paige spoke of the path she chose but Tanya was not sure of the path she would choose. "But I heard that pirates are male. Female pirates are not considered useful. How could I make any captain want me? she asked.
Paige - June 18, 2007 03:49 PM (GMT)
Paige gave a soft smile to the girl. It was true that pirates saw girls as weak and useless on a ship. In fact Paige did not know of another single female pirate, let alone a female captain " Yes, like any other society, women are found to be inferior. They even say it is bad luck to have a girl on a ship. That saying is very true as long as they mean bad luck for the other ships at sea. We may lack body strength, but we have the brains honey. Men do not use their brains for thinking, but the appendage a bit further down. We can use that to our advantage. Show a bit of skin and fill them up with a few hollow compliments and I assure you they will be compliant to all you ask of them. We are allowed to get close to the enemy without them every knowing they are in danger, for they see us as harmless. Then you can strike without warning, letting their ignorance bring their death." Paige soon got lost in her head, thinking about the powerful people she had managed to dominate over. She relished in the memories of power she held over the foolish men.
She soon snapped out of her daydreams " It is true though that It would be very hard to get a captain to job you into his crew. I had only gained my power through my father. He had no sons to pass on his great wealth and power too, so I had inherited his wealth, crew, ship, and fame."
Paige pulled her necklace out of her bodice and let Tanya see the symbol " This is my most prized possession. The symbol on this necklace is my family's crest. It is how I show that I have my father's blood in my veins...." Before she continued on she ripped a paper off the wall and flipped it over to the blank backside. She took off her necklace and pushed the symbol into the parchment. She then reached over and grabbed a cup of red wine off one of the tables and poured the content onto the paper, staining it red. She then took the necklace off the paper and placed it around her neck once more. She picked up the stained parchment and looked at it. In the center there was one unstained part. It was in the shape of Paige's symbol " Take this, and keep it with you always. If you show any pirate crew this symbol they will most likely job you. It means that you are regarded under my father's name. Take it only if you want to learn from me. I can not have you just go jumping on any ship and tarnishing my family's name."
Tanya - June 22, 2007 11:34 PM (GMT)
Tanya watched the female pirate as she spoke up, " Yes, like any other society, women are found to be inferior. Then you can strike without warning, letting their ignorance bring their death." she said. Tanya was pretty certain that she knew what Paige was talking about, and she was not sure about what she would have to do exactly but she knew well what Paige was talking about.
Tanya wondered what she would chose, would she become a solo pirate or apart of a crew? And that is even if she chose the life of a pirate. But one thing she was certain of is that Paige knew what she was talking about, " It is true though that It would be very hard to get a captain to job you into his crew. I had only gained my power through my father. He had no sons to pass on his great wealth and power too, so I had inherited his wealth, crew, ship, and fame." Paige said. She looked as she took off a piece of paper and stained it with her mark. " Take this, and keep it with you always. If you show any pirate crew this symbol they will most likely job you. It means that you are regarded under my father's name. Take it only if you want to learn from me. I can not have you just go jumping on any ship and tarnishing my family's name." she said. Tanya shook her head, “No thanks. No offence or anything but I prefer to make my own way when I am on my own. I thank you for trying to help but I prefer to work on my own. It just gives me a bigger sence of accomplishment when I do stuff on my own.” She said finishing off her water.
Paige - June 23, 2007 03:26 AM (GMT)
Paige shrugged and tore the paper into many small pieces and turned around and threw it in the dirty fireplace behind the table. The small flame that managed to burn past the soot engulfed the damp paper and burned away the seal she had made for Tanya.
The pirate learned to like this girl more and more. She was strong and independent. She did not seem to need or want help from anyone. Paige knew that she would truly make a good pirate if she chose her help, or at the very least she would make a great adventurer that learned a couple of helpful tips from Paige.
There was nothing left to talk of now. They could do nothing more until Tanya had decided if she wanted the training or not, save drinking. Paige would be happy to help the young wanderer whether she wanted to be a pirate or not. It would not hurt for her to know how to use a boat and how to bend a man. She wanted to make sure Tanya did not come a victim of the social norm. She wanted her to be an independent, strong, roguish, butt kicking girl.
Paige leaned back on the wooden chair once more, smiling at Tanya " So do you know your answer. Do you want to become a pirate, or are you afraid to cross the path of right and wrong a bit. I assure you that you can use my teaching and still be in the right. I will teach you how to steal, and you can use it to take only what you need to survive, or steal from those who have more than they need. Surely that is not wrong. I can teach you how to sail and use a ship. That knowledge can be used for any purpose you choose. I can also teach you how to use your body to your advantage. It will help you even the sides, which can not possibly be a bad thing. If you would not care about right and wrong and only follow what you choose, you would find that the world is much less constricting. You can peel off the binding chains of virtue and do as you please in this world. That is how I try to live. I am definitely no saint, but I also feel that I have not committed great crimes. You do not have to make up your mind right away. We have quite some time!"
sekeolath - July 2, 2007 08:54 PM (GMT)
Sekeolath had heard enough of this rubbish coming from the pirate. "Did you not hear her answer whelp? She is in no need of your services, so be gone!", the voice echoed through the pirate's mind, sending chills down her spine. The shade looked back to Tanya, careful not to scare her. "I am sorry to interrupt, but it seemed your conversation was at an end. I overheard you were looking for a profession, but did not want to work with others. I may have the solution to your troubles", Sekeolath said, it's eyes glowing a deep red.
"I am an expert in killing, torture, e.t.c; and I may be able to teach you the art of the killer". As it talked, shadows began to shift around him, some even grabbing out to Tanya. "Or, perhaps, you would like to earn from my master. He is somewhat of an expert at necromancy; the choice is yours and yours alone. Would you be willing to sacrifice everything for power, fame, freedom, and fortune?
Tanya - July 4, 2007 09:39 PM (GMT)
The pirate tore up the seal, but instead of being upset the pirate was more pleased with her reaction. The woman seemed interested in teaching her different things about being a pirate, but Tanya was becoming more uncertain about it. Even with Paige's help it would be difficult for her to survive on the high seas. She was about to get up and leave. Apparently there was no one to help her here.
Suddenly a voice echoed through her mind, "I am sorry to interrupt, but it seemed that your conversationwas at an end. I overheared you were looking for a profession, but did not want to work with others. I may have the solution to your troubles. I am an expert in killing, torture, etc; and I may be able to teach you the art of the killer" he said. Shadows began to shift around him and some even tried to grab Tanya, she swatted them away. They broke into vapors and then reformed once again. The art of the killer? Why does this seem to press on me? Its as if I had once found pleasurre in causing the misery of others." she decided to stay and see what this creature had to say.
"Or, perhaps, you would like to earn from my master. He is somewhat of an expert at necromacy; the choice is yours and yours alone. Would you be willing to sacrifice everything for power, fame, freedom, and fortune?? Tanya considered his words for a moment and rubbed her finger on the rim of her glass, "Both paths of dark and lightbring disadvantages and advantages...But what I desire is strength. Many have, as you observed earlier, consider me to be weak, and some have proven it to be true." she smiled. "All right. You have my attention, just how can your master make me strong?" she asked.
sekeolath - July 4, 2007 10:09 PM (GMT)
"Both paths of dark and light bring disadvantages and advantages...But what I desire is strength. Many have, as you observed earlier, consider me to be weak, and some have proven it to be true." Sekeolath smirked at this before listening in once again. "All right. You have my attention, just how can your master make me strong?" She asked, smiling.
"My master is somewhat weak, in his physical state, but is wise in the art of black magic and necromancy. He may teach you the basics to get you started, but he will follow his "races" way of teaching. They will not hold your hand through it all, nor will they teach you all that they know, lest you become stronger then them and destroy them." The dragon said with a smirk.
"But he will teach you, but he cannot teach those who wish to become stronger physically, that is my job. Show if you wish, Milady, I can teach you or my master can. It is your choice" Sekeolath said gently while retracting its shadows back into itself.
Tanya - July 5, 2007 01:55 AM (GMT)
Tanya listened as the dragon spoke his peice, "My master is somewhat weak, in his physical state, but is wise in the art of black magic and necromancy. He may teach you the basics to get you started, but he will follow his "races" way of teaching. They will not hold your hand through it all, nor will they teach you all that they know, lest you become stronger then them and destroy them." Tanya was uncertian at these words, sure she was not expecting for someone to hold her hand but to teach her only the basics? Why even bother then?
The being continued. "But he will teach you, but he cannot teach those who wish to become stronger physically, that is my job. Show if you wish, Milady, I can teach you or my master can. It is your choice" he said. Tanya shook her head and got down from the chair. "And what? Be just like your master and only teach me how to attack and block and leave me at that? Sorry..." she said as she tossed coins for her drink and meal. "I am looking for someone who will teach me the whole way, basics, advanced...I dont mind the fact that someone wont hold my hand. But I am not going to be someone who is taught the abc's but not how to put them together and make a word. Take it to someone else who wants it, I am out." she said and walked out of the pub her staff on her shoulder ready to be weilded at a moments notice.
