Kira walked down a dirt road, on the Salquedor grasslands, sweat pouring down her brow. A fat merchant walked behind her, panting loudly as he trotted down the path. The grasslands seemed endless, with a occasional tree dotting the landscape, but mainly grass flooding the landscape. They passed over a hill, and Kira caught a glimpse of the Village of Estolad. She had finally reached her destination, her long mission over. The merchant passed over the hill, and caught glimpse of the city, and let out a deep sigh.

In a half hour the reached the first building of the city. It was a small resturant, with the label of 'Orc Meat'. The merchant let out a small, strangled, chortle and said gruffly " lets take a break, I need to eat." Kira flipped her hair and muttered "no".

"Excuse me, but I'm paying you, and I'll go my own pace, and if you leave now, I'll not pay you no money." Kira muttered a word under her breath, and clenched her fist. Her fist glew a bright purple and then exploded without a sound. She cast a minor variation of the fear spell, so it only scared her employer a little bit, and hoped to scare the merchant to go to his destination, so she could get paid.

The merchant got very twitchy and began to walk towards the Kamia inn. She finally reached the inn, and out stretched her hand. The merchant reached his hand in his pocket and pulled out a bag of coins and placed it on her outstretched hand. He then waddled in the inn and Kira began to walk towards the edge of town to count her payment. She reached the first building she had seen, the one called 'Orc Meat' and she entered, and sat at a table, and poured out her bag of coins, and began counting.

It was maybe because of her own slow pace had it taken her a rather long while to end up back there in Estolad. Traveling on feet for a ten year old was a bit hard. But wait; shouldn’t a ten year old be at home eating pie or something? Not in her case. She had been strolling along through the long grasslands for a little while already—and nothing was ’fun’ about it. In fact, all she had seen through that place was hills of grass, and a few scattered tress- basically nothing inhabited the place. Almost like a dead land… Just greener and peaceful. gag.

So there she then sat in her first destination—a weird place called ‘Orc Meat”. Orc Meat? What kind of name is that really? Is it supposed to mean… “Bad Meat”? She didn’t know—the man in over the counter had barely let her into the damned place because she was too ‘young’. She had to force her way into this orc meat because of that guy—and her way of forcing isn’t such a friendly interaction. There she sat near the corner of the connecting walls, her head tilted as she examined all of the people there. Some seemed wasted with overdosing of alcohol, and some seemed to be pigging out on ‘meat’ or so they say. She sat there with her short legs up on the wooden stool with a cup of… water.

Nothing excitingly adventurous. Her day had been going rather slowly for such a sunny day… And already was she bored making fun of old drunks. This must be the sign of the worlds end.

Her head turned as the doors opened and in came a purple haired very thin and tall girl that looked like maybe in her twenties taking a seat at a table. She spilled a bag of coins out on the table, counting them one by one. What a girl… Counting her money out in the public. How so… vain..? Especially when she was around, the sight of the shiny round coins made her think twice about what she wanted… Now her feelings for adventure turned to profit.

Giving a little cough, she shuffled through her coat, retrieving a wooden made simplified flute which she had owned since… ever, basically. She first tied a small handbag for money to her right wrist with a tight not. Her bright big eyes stared at the purple haired girl, and then closed them bringing the flute up to her lips. ’hmmmm…’ She blew out a soft sound, her fingers moving in an elegant motion as she started to play a melodic tune—Now rising from her chair. Her body swayed back and forth with the music as she walked down the aisle, playing loud enough so even the drunks could hear. Claps were heard over the sound, and many went up to put their loose pocket change in the pouch with appreciation.

She made her way over to the table of the purple haired girl, and started into the repeat, the song growing louder, and more legato, a smooth and long sound that seemed almost like a choir. She closed her eyes, playing for a while—waiting for any sign of movement… any sign of distraction to make her move on the prize.

Besides, how hard is it not to get distracted when a little girl plays the flute? Eh?

Kira Xilophent - June 2, 2007 02:35 AM (GMT)
Kira sat quietly, moving one coin to one side to another, counting slowly in her head, one, two, three......................... thirty four, thirty five, thirty six. The counting was getting monotonous, but she didn't mind, she was near money, and that made her happy, very happy. After she reached her fortieth coin, a small cat like girl, and sat down at a table, and ordered a glass of water. That was a different choice, the bar probably never got that order, considering that every patron, except the girl had some form of alcoholic beverage, including herself. The girl seemed strange, that was for sure.

Kira began to count her gold quickly, at a alarming pace. She was smart, and fast, she had been counting so slow to appreciate the gold, but now she would have to speed up, to make sure that she could afford a good room with some food, there was no way she would sleep on a bed mat on the floor, not after she got paid, she had to have the best, it brought her a good feeling, a feeling of accomplishment.

Some thing caught Kira's eye. The little girl searched her pocket and pulled out a small flute and began to play a beautiful tune, attracting attention to almost all the patrons. Soon, claps and chants were heard over the music and coins were tossed in a small bag tied around the girls hand. Kira began to pick up her coins and put them in her own bag, determined to not give any to the girl. She muttered a small word under her breath, the arcane words for the fear spell, and a purple ball of energy hung on her hand. Kira muttered another word and opened fist and sent a purple shock wave, only visible to herself, throughout the bar, hoping to scare of any who tried to take her gold.

Sir Caius Lucius - June 2, 2007 02:53 AM (GMT)
The young knight sat in the corner of the room enjoying his glass of lime water and listened to the other patrons talk about anything and everything. He himself had be away from the large trade cities on vacation, taking time off from his noble duties. The Village of Estolad was no better place. He leaned back in his chair and looked up at the ceilling. "By Loth I need to do this more often."

None the less a young purple haired girl came into the pub and sat herself down. What was really interesting is that she began to openly count her money. She had a lot of it, and he was at first worried that one of the local bandits or pickpockets would try and snatch some for her. He sat up and just watched, as a few people did begin to look at the purple haired girl count her money.

She began to count quicker and then she finished. he sigh in relief nobody tried to jump her. Yet a little cat looking girl began to play the flute and moved closer to the Purple haired girl. No doubt she was trying to get a coin or to from her. Caius began to settle back down into his chair... Unit the she used a fear spell. In many cases it was a common spell, yet it seemed to align itself with evil individuals. He was unaffected only because he was seasoned soldier, years of trainning made him resistant to weak spells. The dagger sheathed in his belt began to burn, it's magical enchantments coming to life. He frowned. "Demon..." He said and stood up. "Over here."

Sensing the girls speeding up her clicks of dropping money would she figure the girl was hurrying up a notch for some peculiar reason. Her closed eyes turned into small slits, and she examined the girl’s intentions. Yet for another abnormal reason had she all of a sudden felt… alarmed. She felt terrified as if this large clump of heaviness dropped deep in her stomach—almost messing up on her flutes rhythm. The scared feeling made her feel nauseated, as if she tried to fight back the fear but failed harshly by doing so. Yet she continued on for a moment playing her flute in a very disorderly manner—her right hand shaking completely independent from the left causing the tune of the flute to suffer. why do I feel so… horrified? She gave another glance at the purple girl, now pondering in this weird miss happening…

You must go… Now. The voice commanded her, yet she stayed put, changing the song into a faster beat—One that raced with her heart at the moment. A fast tune of adrenaline and fright. There were two choices—Stay put in this paralyzed state and just do nothing. Or two, get off her lazy scared butt and take the gold like she originally planned. She eyed the coins nervously, until then something else was caught from the corner of her eyes—A man—a rather strong looking man; If she thought twice she would have assumed this man was maybe some sort of soldier. But she didn’t. So her first pretty stupid reaction suddenly came to her in a quick moment of time.

Suddenly with a swift motion of her hand would she Jump with her left foot on the empty stool, then again pushing herself upward on the table—She outstretched her arm and yanked the money bag from the girl as rapid as she could without looking back. She kept her speed, running directly off the table with a jump, not changing her speed and movement of feet. Thank you armored, savior, soldier man, guy… Thank you so much… She thought deviously with a grin on her face as she thanked him for his small little distraction. As she ran through the room would people stand up, as if wanting to capture her—Many shouted to tell her to return the money yet she just slipped past there way. Hell, she was about a foot smaller than them—maybe even smaller.

As she continued would she pass the soldier man who was standing up, her face turning to just give on small glance. As that happened—she knew that was a pretty bad idea… She kept going until she reached out the door, her arms swinging them open with a large force and started to run quickly on the soil like road—her eyes just pointed to this one specific location: Anywhere but there. THEIF! GET BACK HERE! YOU SHORT LITTLE PUNY GIRL WITH A STRANGE FACE! GET BACK! She heard the shop owner call out to her—yet didn’t follow his orders. What, because he was about… 20 years older than her she had to stop just for him? What an old hag. Underestimating a child… Oh excuse me—a Five hundred year old girl that looks like a child?

Turning her head back with a small tilt would she grin happily the bag tightened in her petite yet strong fists. ”AHAHA! You can’t catch me. If you can, I’ll give you this back, oh yes I will! But until then…” She turned the corner, her arm right on the brick wall, now stopping to stare back. ”I’ll have to go… so… SEE YOU LATER!” She screamed loudly so others can here, and hysterically started laughing. She pushed herself off the wall, and sustained on. This was all too funny…

Kira Xilophent - June 8, 2007 03:51 AM (GMT)
Kira finished putting all the money in her bag, grateful for the safety of her money. She earned it, and it was hers, and she would kill to protect it. Why should she suffer if some one took it, when she could track them down, kill them, and may be earn some more money while she was at it. Kira leaned back in her chair, and listened to the song that the girl was playing, which was slightly picking up pace, and losing the beauty that was played before. Kira smiled a broad smile, proud of her accomplished spell.

Some thing else caught her eye. It was a man, and unlike all the other drunkards in the bar, he seemed a well seasoned warrior, and a knight. Kira's smile was quickly wiped off her face, knights weren't her strong point. It was likely that he was going to make a big fuss, just like her angel brother had. Oh well, that wasn't going to stop her from having a restful night.

Suddenly, the girl leaped up and jumped on a empty bar stool and leaped in the air, and grabbed Kira's bag of money. Kira's eyes flared red as the thief quickly ran away, with abnormal speed of that of a normal human, or elf child for that matter. Kira stood up, but the girl was already out of the building. Kira unfolded her wings and began to quickly fly. She flew above all the buildings and spotted the girl running, and then pushing herself off a wall, while shouting words merrily. Kira didn't pay attention to them, but rather dive bombed towards her location, and casting a spell.

Black runes appeared in the air next to her, and next to the location of the girl. She muttered some arcane words and a black line appeared between the two runes. On the second rune, a shadow appeared and attempted to hug the girl, and grab onto her, while Kira continued with her dive bomb.

A man in a black cloak set in the orc meat bar. A hood shadowed his face but you could see his light blonde hair because it was so bright. His blue eyes and handsome face however was hidden. He Had noticed 2 girls earlier. One of them was a women who had a bag of money the other was a child of what seemed no more then 10 years old. A rough looking man who seemed to him to be a soilder or a mercenary seemed to be watching both of them-probally concerned that she was openly showing her money off to a bar full of men and thugs. Though exile was young- only 17 years old, he was considered to be more deadly than most warriors where he was from... Though it never occured to him why.

Exile saw the girl with the flute grab the money from the the women who was counting her money. He stood up and drew his sword. Thinking perhaps if he helped this girl she would pay him... He was starving after all from being out of work- being a mercenary was a hard life.

"Come back kid!"
He ran at her moving quite fast actually. His sword drawn but turned around as in not to actually kill her. The long katana still had fresh blood on it from a wolf he had slain in the forest... He wouldnt kill this child but he would take back the money for the women- in hopes she would pay him.

As he ran he noticed a spell come up from the earth. A shadow trying to kill the child. the women who the child had stolen from was a necromancer... He pulled his hood off and his blue eyes and spikey blonde hair was now visiable. He didnt want to see the kid killed by the necromancer but he also didnt want the girl to get away with the womens money.
