Manticore

With a horned, human-like head, the body of a lion, and the tail of a scorpion, manticores are vicious creatures with many deadly attributes. The scorpion's tail is not only lethally venomous, it is able to shoot envenomed quills toward targets at will. Though they have the body of a lion, they tend to be larger in size with the adult males often reaching sizes similar to those of horses, making them mountable. Some breeds have wings, but this physical feature is rare in males.


Oath Bow
(2nd Place)
The Oathbow is crafted by the Elves, and therefore, works best in the hands of an Elf. When an arrow is pulled back onto the string, it whispers "Swift defeat to my enemies." If the firer swears to slay their target, the bow's whisper becomes a shout, "Swift death to those who have wronged me!" Against such a sworn enemy, the bow seems to have a force of its own and it almost seems to aim itself, making the arrow fly truer.


Assassin's Returning Dagger
(3rd Place)
This throwing knife is an assassin's dream. It will never miss it's mark, always flying true. If the target flees or dodges, it will adjust it's course to hone them. The knife will take on a mind of its own, and continue to follow the target until it lands a strike, no matter how much they may attempt to evade it. Once it hits the target, the knife will return to the thrower's hand. It will return if it hits the target but is blocked by a shield or armor, etc.

Mana Burn
This potion is made for throwing, and thus comes with a set of breaking vials. When thrown upon a target it smokes and fumes, but the burning does not cause physical damage. It instead burns away a portion of your enemy's mana, burning off 1/4 of their current reserve.
