Mido was weary from the day spent traveling. His feet throbbed beneth him and he longed for a short break from his journey. looking for some time he finally found a spot suitable to him. He walked over and scooped some water up from the ocean. "I surely cannot drink this water as it is, that I can't" He said as he brought the water back to where he had dropped his pack. He quickly pulled out his cantine and noticed is was empty. Longing for a drink he took a small sip and spat it quickly back out.

Looking around his pack he finally found a lone match. He lit the match and collected a small pile of sun dried driftwood. he lit the wood and placed the pot on the now small fire. Looking behind him he noticied a nice sized rock which he draged over to the spot and sat on. He looked out onto the ocean and wondered where he would end up tomorrow. He realized that he did not know what fate had in store for him in the coming days.

Now feeling the heat of the fire he pushed the rock aside and layed on the sand looking up at the stars.

"Drinking sea water is not always the best thing to do...."

Snori had been travaling for several days lone and had not seen another inteligent face for a long time. He began to walk over to the Man with great difficulty, walking on sand with his iron shod boots was extreamly difficult. His progress was hampered even more by the large and bulging pack, with variuse weapons atached.

"If you like you could always take some of mine."

Snori had always been nice to people it paid to as even if they turned around and tried to kill you It wasnt you fault it was theirs. He stopped and rummaged around in his pack, he pulled out several books and dumped then on the sand then found what he was looking for. He pushed the books forcfully back into his pack and pulled it back on. He Proceded to the mans camp fire then held out his hand it contained a cantine.

"My name is Snori and please no jokes about my unfortuane name." He smilled.

Mido opened one eyes slightly to see the person speaking. He smiled and rose to his feet. "I won't make fun of your name, that I won't." said mido gratefully taking the cantine from Snori. "It's nice to see people who are friendly to someone of my nature, that it is." said Mido after taking a sip from the water.

Mido walked over to the fire and took the pot of water he was boiling off to see how it was coming along. "So, where are you from?" asked Mido looked up from where he sat.

"It pays to be nice to people." Snori sat down next to the fire and began rumaging through his pack. "Me I'm from a small home town mine in the mountins to the north, I'm just passing through i have biussnes to atend to." He found his rabbit, it was sealed up in brown paper with string. He pulled off the paper and layed out the strips of meat on a small stone. Snori picked up the stone and placed it to rest next to the fire. "So what about you you have my name and as of yet I do not have yours." He looked at [mido] and looked him in the eyes. "What biusness does a celestial have in the lowly world of men anyway?"

He turned back to the fire and his stone and turned over the rabbit. All the whille he was mulling over the word celestial and trying to think where it fitted in with him...

"Me? My name is Mido." replied Mido to Snori's question. "and I have no real buisness here, or anywhere for that matter. I wander from town to town, place to place. I am not looking for anything, that I am not. I just go around looking to learn new things and see new places." Mido gazed into the fire as he lit a cigarette and leaned back on a rock.

"I live to learn, I travel till I find a place I can derive knoledge from and I do so.... not in a harm full way of cource." He pulled the strips of rabbit from the fire and picked one up. He ate it. "Like some rabbit? Its good my wolf caught it only yesterday." Snori was board stiff he needed some entertainment even if it was a fight. Looking around and took note of a large sand dune anout 40 meaters away. "You have any spells Mido? Or any thing like a bow? Cos if you do then i challageng you to a competion.... im getting a bit board so what the hell."

He pointed the palm of his hand at the dune and after a short whille he sent a bolt of crackaling energy at the dune it struck the top and it exploded in a shower of sand.

Mido accepted the rabbit from Snori, grateful because of not having eaten in some time. "I do not have a bow I am afraid and my knowledge in magic is minimal that it is. All I know is something called Dark Regenration." ((I don't know what it does)) Mido looked at the sand that was now coming down after Snori's blast at the dune. "Quite impressive, that is was." said Mido looking at the dune.

"The spell dark regeneration... oh yes i think it was my first spell... Dark healing that was it!" He looked around reminising of the times in his youth... which were by no means happy ones. "Any way my aim is rusty and I an the first one to admit that I can be easaly bested in magical combat." A large scufling sound was being imited from the dune. It had a scratchy quality, and it defintily sounded animal.

"I think my hasty reactions has awoken somthing..." He stared at the dune then as he whatched a crab burst from the sand. It was easaly as big as a horse, its pincers looked mercifly small for its size but as if to make up for it it was covered im many sharp spines and its shell look to be as strong as plate mail.

"ummm im sorry about this.... it dosnt look to happy either."

Seeign the crab, Mido rose to his feet, but refrained from drawing his weapon. Mido wasn't a quick one to attack in most situations and usually let the opponents make the first move, therefore he looked over to see Snori's reaction and looked back and pleasantly smiled at the crab awaiting its move. He threw what was left of his cigarette to the floor and took out another which he quickly lit.

"Waiting for the opponent to move and act wont work here it is a mindless animal."

Snori muttered somthing under his breath and a ring of fire eruped from the floor, traping it in the fire. However the crabs hard shell protected it and it scuttled throught the flickering flames. "so much for that plan." He diseded to use somthing a bit more power full. He cast the same bolt as on the sand dune. It sailed through the air and caught the crab on its undershell fliping it on its back. It squilled in pain and rocked as it tryed to right itself. Finaly mangaing to flip itself over it scuttled alamingly quickly to Snori.

Drawing a spear he tryed to fend of its spikes. They looked more dangerus than the pincers but prehaps that was their deseption as one of its crusted claws caught him a blow to the side of the head. His helm took the worst of the damage but he was knocked to the ground.

Mido took a long sigh and walked over and helped Snori to his feet. He pulled the tiny dagger he had from his cloak. "Don't laugh." said Mido, " I travel light, that I do." Mido smiled as he ripped some of his cloak off and tied it around his eyes. "I like to mix things up a bit." said Mido smiling in the direction in which he though Snori was standing. With that, Mido ran swifty at the beast and evaded and attack but as he came down upon it, he was thrown aside by one of the claws. Mido brought his hand up to his mouth and looked at the fresh blood dripping from it. Mido calmly chuckled and rose to his feet and spat some blood out. "A little dizzy, that I am." laughed Mido as he prepared to attack the crab again.

Snori laughed to himself he had been bested by this crab in combat when he had so much left to give.... He took mido's hand up and whille he jumped into combat he prepaired a spell. looking back to the crab he saw Mido being thrown aside, it was the perfect chance to try it out....

He raised his hand to the sky and draged it down as if pulling somthing with it. From the Clear sky a lightning bolt fell and struck with deadly presiction on the Crabs shell cracking it and sending a chunk sliding aross the sands. The Crab squelled in pain and turned to face him.

"Mido put your skills to work, and that tiny daggar of yours! Its insides are an easy target!"

Mido couldn't help at laugh at Snori's last remark as he flew into the air and plunged his dagger into the crab. It shrieked and with a quick jerk of its body threw Mido to the side. Mido managed to stay on his feet and watched the crab to see what it would do. He noticed that it was trying to shake off the pain of the last stab so Mido jumped up and stabbed it again and used his back foot to propel himself off the beast and he landed next to Snori. Mido held his sword uprigth and let some of the crab blood drip off into a puddle at his feet.

"Hmmmm you cirtanly are cocky for some one armed with nothing more than a daggar and the repitoir of one spell..." Snori said as he flanked the crab pulling out the master work spear as he ran. He reached the back of the crab that was now making its way towards Mido after his attack. He simply thrust the spear into the exposed crab flesh and push it in hard ignoring the squelles of pain then he twisted it letting the barbs catch on the gut. He moved into a stronger possition and yanked the spear, it came out along with the crabs digestive track or what was left of it. The crab died almost instantly from the combination of blood loss from Mido's attacks and his lighning and the acid that was leaking from its riped stomach.

"Fance crab by any chance Mido?."

Mido chuckled, "Not cocky, I just don't find the need to express anything negative toward an opponent...whether I am afraid or not." He watched as Snori mutilated the beast. Mido said, (in response to Snori's other question) "I have never had seafood in my life, that I haven't. Many a places have I visited that have offered me seafood but not once have I tried it. I am quite curious as to the taste."

Mido peered over to see what remained of the fire and to his suprise it still had auite a bright glow to it. He walked over and threw some more driftwood into the fire until is was a decent size. he used his dagger to remove some of the crab and shoved it onto the dagger. He held the dagger over the fire.

"Some hikers have told me that they don't find using weapons the best technique to cooking things because of how hot the blade gets but I find that as the blade gets hot, it cooks the meat on the inside as well, that it does." Mido smiled as he dropped his cigarette and let it die out in the sand.

"Cooking crab.... i think it spoils it." he walked over to the crab and cut himself off a large chunk then walked back to the fire. He started to cut it up with his throwing dagger. "Of cource it is a bottom feeder so you dont know what you might be eating." He started to eat the strips of meat he cut off.

Over a dune a wolf came skidding, its winter fur and shape of paws made it's jurney across the sands a dificult one. It neared the camp and stopped looking at Mido. Then it continuded to Snori's side where it lay down.

Continuing to eat his meat he placed some next to the wolf, then he began to stroke it. "It's my wolf in case you are a bit slow on the up take." He smilled he probably shouldnt be so flipant with every one he met but he couldnt help it.

"I think I understood." replied mido examining the meat as he tore it from his dagger. 'Does he hunt?" asked Mido looking at the wolf, "or does he help in battle?" While talking with Snori, Mido pulled out a cloth and wiped off his dagger so it was clean again. "Do you know of any good places where I can buy a weapon?" he asked, "I find that I seem less intimidating with such a meager weapon." said Mido. "I am sure at first sight of my weapon you saw me as weak and defenseless, that you did." said Mido, "but I assure you, at the hand of a more powerful weapon, I am anything but that."

"Firstly He is a she and she hunts but wolfs despite their fearsome reputation can only realy fight in a pack so she just hangs around and picks up the ocational rabbit and pheasant. As to your weapon, well i myself know of more than a few ways to kill a man with my bare hands... I may not be proud of it but still weapons of any size or power arnt always useful. My spells have made me much less dependant on my weapons but it pays to not get tide down." Staring into the fire He continuded to eat. The wolf rose to its feet and made its ungamely way across the sand dunes and out of sight.

"But if you are looking for weapons I sugest dwarfs, they amost always make the best crafted weapons, just look for a mine." He smilled sure it was a bit biased but in his eyes you could look no futher than a dwarf if you wanted a hammer or axe.

"I see." replied Mido "I just assumed it was a he." Mido bit off some of the crab and smiled in aproval of the taste. "I have heard that dwarfs make fine weaponry, but I didn't see the time to find them, that i didn't. I suppose weapons are not always needed for bare hand combat wokrs just as well as you say it does. I just feel it may do me better to carry around more than something so..meager as this dagger. I do prefer not using weapons but in some cases theres seems just no way around it. As for magic, I don't fancy it very much and I find that for me, it is more of a nuisance than a convenience." Mido smiled as he took another bite out of the freshly cooked crab.
