Title: Meeting after so long
Description: [P] Merenwen Only [P]
Tas - May 20, 2007 03:10 PM (GMT)
The wind was strong in the woods around Lake Aelin, its force pushing against the many trees and sending a shrill sound through the woods and right past one of the openings near the lake. It was in that opening that lay a young looking elven man, his hair went to just about his shoulders and was a deep purple in colour. This elven man went by the name of Tas Oberon and he had been training as a fighter for so very long now. However a few days ago his training had finished and Tas had once again set out into the world, only on this day he was taking a break, after all he felt he deserved it from the months of training he had just been through.
As he lay there on the grass with the wind brushing over his face Tas could not help but feel totally relaxed. His two blades were by his side but the Elf seen no use for then as of yet, although all that was about to change in a matter of moments as something was moving through the woods, drawing in ever closer to Tas by the second. What this thing was, was not exactly clear to anyone that could have even remotely see its movements as it passed through the trees.
With the now calming wind passing over him Tas slowly opened his eyes and curled his lips into a smile, it was rather nice being able to relax for once instead of training against many others in the art of sword wielding. The peace was soon shattered however as Tas heard branches being broken in the woods, quickly he got to his feet and managed to get hold of both of his swords, one blade was infused with the power of Air while the other was infused with that of Ice.
Turning around to face the trees Tas seen two blurs running among them, it was not long until he got a clear view of what was infact trying to hunt him down. It was two large grey lupines and each of them looked very powerful, in truth Tas had never faced anything like this before and he knew not what to do at that moment.
At first he began to take a few steps backwards, shocked by the huge forms of the Lupines. It was very clear they had power, and Tas was about to be on the receiving end of that power! One of the Lupines pushed itself forward at great speed and aimed a strike straight for the head of Tas, however Tas had managed to block the strike by raising his blades up, but the sheer force of the attack had pushed Tas backwards slightly.
That’s when the other Lupine seen its opening, it leaped up in the trees once more then began jumping from tree to tree until it was behind Tas, only then did the grey beast pounce down with its claws ready to rip deep inside the form of the Elf. Sadly its attack went through! The Lupines claws ripping into the shoulders of Tas and forcing him onto the ground, all was not looking good and Tas was clearly in need of help.
((OOC: Sorry for the bad starting post))
Merenwen Coamenel - May 21, 2007 08:04 AM (GMT)
Merenwen had changed into her wolf form to go on a nice run through the trees surrounding the lake. She enjoyed runs and had already had a nice swim that morning so she had decided that a nice run would be good for the after noon. Her body moved through the trees with grace and her mind was free from all the stresses of everyday life. Her gear was left in the nook of a tree by the lake and when she felt that she had gotten enough of a run she would go back to her gear and rest for the night. That was her plan but little did she know that all of that was about to change.
As she was running through the forest she could hear other animals scurrying about but there was another noise that didn’t seem normal to her. She had been in the forest many times before and knew most of the ordinary sounds but these were anything but ordinary. She could hear growling and though she knew some wolves to live in the woods these growls sounded somehow demonic. The sound was rather disturbing and she could feel a sense of threat in the growls.
The sound was coming from a decent distance away and she was sure that if she didn’t hurry someone would be hurt and hurt badly. Even if she got there in time she had no idea whether she could save whoever the demonic wolves had decided to attack but that didn’t change the fact that she would do her best to get there and try to save the person. She also hoped that the growls were a threat to someone good as they sounded to her because otherwise she could be running herself into a trap.
She stayed in her wolf form which she had only been in for ten minutes so far and darted through the trees. It turned out that the noises were coming from a very short distance from where she had left her gear. It seemed to be directly on the beach just out from the tree in fact. When she reached a spot through which she could see that beach she saw something very disturbing. Two lupines seemed to be attacking someone and she was unable to even tell who it was. The person was on the ground with one lupine dug into his shoulders and so she couldn’t tell who or what race the person was.
Even without knowing who was being attacked she knew that she had to do whatever she could to help. She lunged out in the direction of the lupine that was on the man’s back and knocked it off. The force of the collision caused her and the lupine to roll all the way to the edge of the lake and they barely stopped before tumbling in. The lupine came out on top and Merenwen thrust the lupine off and into the lake. She then got to her wolf feet and waited for the lupine to attack again. She didn’t know what was happening with the other lupine or the man but she couldn’t worry about that just yet. She could only manage one lupine at a time and she would need to get to her weapons if she planned on actually getting through this. The lupine was standing again and ready to lunge, the time had come to see what she could do on her own.
((sorry it's kind of crappy))
Tas - May 25, 2007 12:27 PM (GMT)
Screams of pain emitted from the young mans open mouth as the claws of the Lupine ripped deeper into his skin, the crimson liquid flowing steadily down his back while the bones of the mans shoulders were scrapped by the Lupines talon like claws. Tas was trying his hardest not to scream out any more but he was having a lot of trouble in doing so since his skin was literally being sliced from the bone!
However just when all seemed lost of man of the forest a normal looking wolf lunged out and managed to get the beast off of his back. With the wolf and the Lupine now in battle Tas had to try and regain his focus, little did he know that the wolf whom had risked itself to save his life was a young woman under a shape-shifting spell. As the Lupine and Wolf engaged in battle Tas somehow managed to get back onto his feet, the flow of blood was still running down, as well as staining, his back but he no longer cared! Being saved by a being of nature was viewed as a grace from Liara to Tas and he was not prepared to let the wolf perish for its good deed.
Just as the elven being went to pick up his blades that he had dropped the second Lupine focused its attack on him by leaping right for the chest area of Tas with its fangs and claws ready to tear him apart even further than the last one had. It was as if the second Lupine was trying to finish its accomplice’s effort to kill the purple haired elf.
He would have to act quickly if there was to be any chance of stopping this beast from making him an elven scratching post, with this thought in mind Tas quickened his pace towards the ground and finally managed to grab the hilts of both Air and Ice Vengeance, with his tools of war at the ready the elf let loose his first all out attack on the Lupines! Swiftly moving Air Vengeance up towards the form of the ever-closer Lupine Tas let one of the blades spells kick into effect.
The winds built up around the blade of the mighty weapon as it stayed in place ready to strike the Lupine, then just as the large grey beast got close enough to Tas that it would have been able to strike the spell gathering around the blade finally let its full power be shown! A raging tornado shot forth sending the chaotic beast to smash against the tree, the impact was so rough that sounds of the Lupines bones cracking could be heard. Although the spell had not killed the Lupine it had done enough damage for the elf to be able to fight back and in turn gain the upper hand.
Somehow the beast still had enough strength within him to get to his large, powerful feet. The look of anger in the eyes of the wolf man was like that of a Vampire after it had killed for the night, it was somewhat disturbing really. Not letting this strange look get to him Tas set off at a focused run for the fur covered beast of chaos, at this time the amazing speed of the elf was finally shown as after serious training Tas had managed to learn how to run at incredible speeds that would outmatch most people in Arda.
With this speed advantage it was not long before the warrior of nature had gotten close enough for a perfect strike, only then did he move both of his blades in a curved motion for the Lupines body. His sword of Air cut into the beasts inner left leg while the sword of ice tore into its neck, yet that was not all that happened for when the sword of ice cut the Lupines neck one of the spells infused with it took instant effect freezing a large section of the beasts neck and making it hard for it to move.
War was breaking out between the four beings gathered in that small area near the lake, and even though it seemed like the battle was well underway it had infact only just began!
Merenwen Coamenel - June 1, 2007 05:36 AM (GMT)
Merenwen knew that to turn her back on the lupine would likely be a fatal mistake and so she stood firm, even though her weapons lay at a fair distance from her. She had some spells that she could use but had found that they were more difficult to use when in another form. She could do it and would if she needed to but hoped that the fight would not reach those proportions. She hoped that she would be able to take the creature down without too much injury to herself but she couldn’t be sure what would happen and so she feared to make a move. She did not want to make a move only to find herself in a bad position so she stood on all fours and watched as the lupine began to make its way up and out of the water. The creature seemed also to want to be at least a little cautious as it came towards her to a point where its lunge would surely reach her rather then lunge at her from its point in the water.
As she waited Merenwen wondered who it was she was fighting beside. She did not have her equipment with her so she was unable to tell whether he was good or evil but the fact that he had been attacked by lupines made her think that he was good. It was always possible that he was evil and had enemies who were also evil but she didn’t think that was the case. Either way, she had decided to help and so there was nothing that she could do but continue to fight. She would find out who she had chosen to help when the fight was done but for now she would have to put that from her mind. She didn’t know that he was an elf and that she had known him as a boy. If she had known that then her concentration may have been further split but not knowing it she was able to bring herself fully to the fight at hand as it was the only chance she would have in the fight.
The lupine had reached the edge of the water and growled at her. She growled back in warning that she would give no mercy and that if the creature wished to survive it should leave immediately. The lupine of course did not take the warning. All it saw was a wolf, a small one at that, and one that it believed would be easy to kill. The creature did not know who it was facing but even if it did it likely still would have attacked. She couldn’t be sure but she felt it likely that someone had sent the creature out either to kill the man further up the beach or to just kill anyone who got in its path. There would be no choice but to fight and so Merenwen shifted her weight in order to be ready for the lupine’s attack and waited for the right moment to respond.
Suddenly the lupine leapt at her with its claws outstretched and teeth ready to sink into any flesh it could reach. Merenwen attempted to dodge but was shocked by the speed of the lupine and found herself thrown back slightly. The lupine had not caught her full on but rather sunk its claws into her right shoulder. They only went a short distance in as she was moving when they began to enter but they went deep enough that blood began to run down her right front leg. She somehow managed to push the lupine over so that she stood above it and in a quick movement she sunk her teeth into the lupines neck. The taste was vile to her and she hated to have to kill in such a way but it was the only way she could think of to kill the creature and be done with it. The lupine did in fact die from the bite as she had bit deep into the carotid artery and it took only moments for the creature to bleed out.
She leapt off the beast and looked up the beach to see how the man was doing. She could see that he was still alive and that the lupine that she had left for him to fight was dead. As she was about to relax in belief that they would be okay she noticed movement in the trees and knew that the fight was not over yet. The movement was very close to her equipment and so she was unable to go after her stuff as it might not be safe and so she would be stuck without her weapons for an even longer time. It had now been about thirty minutes since she had changed into her wolf form and if she couldn’t get to her equipment before she changed back she didn’t know what her chances would be if they were attacked once again. She still couldn’t tell who the man was but she moved in his direction and standing a slight distance from him she growled at the woods.
((Sorry it is kind of lame. My brain just isn’t doing too well just now.))
Tas - June 3, 2007 01:20 PM (GMT)
The dripping of blood could be heard as the deep cuts into the Lupines skin were continually draining out the crimson fluid towards the ground below. With a small sigh passing past his lips Tas could not help but start to think of why these large, flesh hungry beasts had chosen to go after him, after all the Elf had merely been resting calmly on the ground. Maybe the Lupines had mistaken Tas for a corpse? Or even seen him as an easy meal due to his current status at the time they had attacked him, all the elven man knew for sure is that he would have been killed on this day had it not been for the help of the wolf that had attacked the other Lupine.
Quickly Tas then turned his head in the direction the aiding wolf was in so that he could see how it was doing, and if it was in need of help. He was somewhat shocked to find what he had, the wolf had slain the Lupine by ripping deep within its neck causing a major damage to its carotid artery and thus killing the large, grey beast very quickly. Both Lupines had been killed a little to easy Tas thought, it was as if they had been sent out a test but if they had then what was really hunting down, and now the wolf, through the forest? With luck the elven being would find out soon and be able to slay whatever it was, he did not really feel like dying on that day after all.
Turning back to the fur covered creature Tas had killed the man tore his blades back out of the beasts skin so that he would be fully ready for what was ahead of him. It was at that moment that he noticed the wolf had come closer and that its eyes were locked onto the woods ahead of the pair. With blood still dripping from the tip of his swords Tas moved next to wolf and looked right at the spot it was looking towards, all that was seen was another sudden jerking movements in the mesh of trees, whatever was out there it was very clear just by its movements that it was larger than the two Lupines that had almost killed Tas only moments ago.
Narrowing his eyes Tas then said out to the wolf, “Thank you for helping me, I shall not forget this day but I am afraid I must ask for your help once more creature of nature, I fear that what is ahead it worse than those that we faced before.” With these words said Tas then caught the movement of whatever was in the forest once more, it was getting closer and closer towards himself and the wolf. The elf did not want the wolf to get hurt, and so he took it upon himself to try and strike first and to find a weakness in whatever was out there.
Of course it was not long until the pair would see its true form, for you see that had already actually seen its form before on that day. Yes the figure was another Lupine, but it looked to be the Alpha being among the three that had been there on that day for it was about double the size to those the wolf and Tas had faced and killed, whether or not they would be able to kill this one or even find a weakness was another question altogether.
As the beast made its way from the trees Tas went straight for an attack, he ran forward with great speed and a prayer in his heart to the Goddess of Nature and Goddess of Light. As he drew in closer for the huge beast Tas saw that the Lupine warrior was going to try and rip a large gash in his sides with his talon like hands, it was lucky that the elf had seen this coming as he pushed himself off the ground and into a jump for the lupine. However he had not gained enough height from the jump to make an impacting strike, he had only managed to get to about the height the Lupines swinging arm was at and thus shifted his body weight and kicked off the lupines arm to gain an increase in altitude.
With this increase in height Tas was able to aim a perfect kick for the Lupines neck that caused the beast to crash against a tree not to far behind it and also let Tas land safely on the ground again. The elf let a happy sigh thinking he had managed to stop the Lupine for the time being but he was so very far from the truth on that matter as within seconds Tas was lifted into the air by the beast, who was letting out a series of angry growls and howls. With the elf raised into the air by the Lupine all was not looking good, Tas had even dropped his twin blades when the Lupine had grabbed him and thus had nothing to protect himself with.
All that was heard next was a loud crack, what had made the sound you ask? The Lupine had thrown Tas into a large tree trunk which had caused a lot of damage to the Warrior of Natures back area, there he lay motionless on the ground hardly able to even focus his eyesight on what was now going on around him. Infact the last thing Tas heard before he blacked out was another loud growl; only it had not come from the Lupine!
Standing not very far from the wolf was the cause of this new growl; it was an amazing white tiger that Tas had raised from a cub. Takara, which was the tigers name, had been hunting in the forest while Tas rested and had come back to the “camp site” when it heard the howling of the Lupine, now seeing his friend in danger Takara was ready to risk his life to kill this Lupine and with luck he would have the help of the wolf as well.
((Sorry my post sucks :'( ))
Merenwen Coamenel - June 14, 2007 03:57 AM (GMT)
((It’s not bad. Sorry mine took so long and is kind of lame.))
With her eyes locked on the forest Merenwen wondered what she had gotten herself into and how much more they would have to face before they would be safe. She heard the man talking to her but did not respond as to do so would only confuse him and distract them from whatever was in the forest waiting for the chance to attack. She did throw a quick glance at him and saw that he was an elf but though he seemed somehow familiar to her she was not able to place him right off. She didn’t have the time to think about such things and let the thoughts of who he might be drop from her mind for the time being for she knew that she would need to use her concentration on the fight. She had finally figured out what was in the forest and the realization was not as bad as it could have been but it was in no way good. It seemed that the lupines they had faced thus far had just been the underlings of a greater lupine that was now ready to attack.
As she prepared to go on the attack Merenwen saw the elf charge at the lupine out of the corner of her eye. She knew that a coordinated attack would have been the best way to go about the fight but with his not knowing that she was in fact an elf he wouldn’t have realized that they could have actually planned an attack out together. In some ways she wished that she had spoken back to him so that they could have planned something but she still stuck to her belief that talking to him in her wolf form would have confused him and may have caused other problems in relation to the fight. Even so, to have planned an attack would have helped them and made their chances of success much greater.
She stood ready to attack but did not run in immediately in fear that their lack of planning would cause one of them to hurt the other during an attack. She watched as the lupine was thrown against a tree but was distressed to see that the impact did little to damage the beast. Before she had time to react the lupine went on the attack and the elf was thrown hard into a tree. She could see that the elf was fading and needed medical attention but she could not help him as she had to first worry about the lupine. When she heard another growl her worries rose for she feared that another lupine had come and if that had been the case then it is likely that great harm would have come to her. As it was she turned to see a magnificent white tiger and she could tell that the creature was in some way connected to the elf. It seemed she had some help after all, though even with the help of the tiger she was not sure if they would prevail.
Looking back at the lupine she could see that it was advancing on the fallen elf and though her magic would likely be her best chance at defeating the creature she was not willing to use it when it might further injure the elf as well. She would have to draw the creature away and hope that she would get a chance to use her powers before the lupine gained the upper hand on her. With that in mind she launched her self at the lupine and due to its distraction she was able to sink her claws into its back slightly. A small amount of blood ran down from where she hit but the damage was so slight that she doubted it would even affect the lupines ability to fight. She expected, and was right in doing so, that all it would do was anger the beast and turn her into its target.
As soon as her claws hit the lupines back it reacted with a fierce up thrust that sent her hurtling across the space and into the edge of the water. The lupines attention had been diverted and it was now advancing on the elven woman who was in her wolf form. The crash had scrambled her mind and knocked the air out of her which gave the lupine a chance to advance fairly close to her before she was able to gather her senses enough to cast a spell. She still did not want to risk one of her more powerful spells as they were all in too close an area for her to trust that the lupine would be the only one hurt and so she decided that she would try using her geyser spell.
By the time she cast the spell the lupine was only about five feet from her but she believed that to be far enough to not be hit by the geyser herself. When it erupted the lupine had just pushed itself into a leap directed right at her and only its back legs were caught in the blast. Though the hair on the back legs was singed and they were scalded enough to cause the beast to stagger when it landed on the ground the damage had not been as great as she had hoped for. The lupine was still able to stand, though it wasn’t very steady, and was now standing directly over her.
Though she had regained her breath she was not in a good position to fight and she could only hope that the tiger would somehow be able to help her. She would need the chance to try another spell and to do so the lupine would need to be in a position where it wasn’t too close to any of them and where she would feel comfortable using her more powerful spells. She tried to roll out of the way but the lupine caught her right front paw and she could feel its jaws clamping down. The bones in the paw shattered, blood began to poor and the she began to howl in pain. She wasn’t sure how long she would last but hoped that she would get the chance to use another spell and get to her stuff where her medical kit was before it was too late for both her and the elven man.
Tas - June 14, 2007 11:52 PM (GMT)
With Tas out it was now up to the wolf and Takara to get rid of the large and very powerful Lupine, but of course that was not going to be an easy task since the Lupine outmatched them both in size and physical power, however Takara was not going to let that stop him from saving his best friends life. The Lupine was heading closer and closer towards Tas as if intend on cracking the Elven mans head open like a nut and eating the contents, but before it could get close enough to further harm Tas the wolf had leaped onto the beasts back and gotten its claws into the Lupines skin. Seeing this Takara moved closer trying to get a perfect aim for the large beasts neck area so that he could kill it quickly.
Before the tiger had managed to get a clear shot the wolf was thrown across the area that they stood in all the way to near the edge of the water. The Lupines attention was now on the wolf so quickly Takara went over to Tas to see if he was ok, the elven man was still breathing but it seemed as though he was finding it difficult to get to his feet. Opening his eyes Tas could see the form of Takara near his body, which caused him to curl his lips into a smile. It was then that the purple haired man said, “Now go help the wolf Takara, I will be ok boy, do not let that wolf die!” Takara growled in response before it turned back round to face the Lupine and the wolf however what the Tiger seen was somewhat of a shock to him
The wolf had somehow managed to cast a spell, and a pretty powerful one at that as it burned the back legs of the leaping Lupine. The magic attack had badly hurt the Lupines legs but the beast was still able to stand and was now right over the wolf. Takara growled some more and he knew the wolf might have still been winded from being thrown, the tiger then set off at a run for the Lupine to try and stop it from hurting the wolf.
Takara had not managed to get there on time though as the Lupine had gotten hold of her front right paw, the tiger then increased his pace at the Lupine, he had to help the wolf after all Tas wanted the wolf to live and Takara would do all that he could to help his masters order to come true. Once he got close enough Takara opening his maw wide and clamped it down hard of the left ankle of the Lupine, the Lupine screamed out in pain and thus released its hold on the wolfs paw. Now seeing an opening Takara started to drag the Lupine back along the ground and away from the wolf. As the Lupine was dragged along the ground the blood pouring from its ankle was dripping onto the ground as well and covering the fur of the tiger.
It was not long before the tiger had dragged the Lupine far enough along the ground that the wolf, if it could, would be able to safely cast another spell once Takara was out of the way. But just to be on the safe side the tiger ripped his fangs deep into the other ankle of the Lupine to make sure that the beast of Chaos would not be able to stand up again, with both ankles now permanently out of order so to speak Takara leaped over the Lupines body and run over towards Tas so that the wolf would have a one hundred percent clear shot to take the beast out.
((OOC: Sorry it's so short and really bad >_< ))
Merenwen Coamenel - June 16, 2007 06:30 AM (GMT)
((No worries, mine aren’t all that great right now either.))
As she lay with the lupine standing over her she wondered how it was that she always got into such situations. She had found herself in many dangerous situations during her times away from home but she didn’t know why she got into them. It wasn’t something that she really had the time to think about just then yet she couldn’t keep the thoughts from running through her head. As those thoughts ran through her head she noticed the tiger advancing out of the corner of her eye. When the tiger bit down on the lupine’s leg Merenwen was relieved to feel the lupine release her paw.
Blood was pouring down from her broken paw and pain continued to run through her. She had to blink back the pain in order to focus on what was going on around her and she found it hard to do so. When she was finally able to focus again she could see that the tiger had drug the lupine a good ways away from her and she watched as the magnificent creature broke the lupines other back leg. When she saw that the tiger had gotten a fair distance away from the lupine she prepared to use one of her strongest spells.
The lupine was trying to drag itself toward the tiger using it’s front legs but it was unable to move with any speed and would not be able to dodge the attack Merenwen was planning to use. Merenwen searched for the strength within herself to cast her solar flare spell. She aimed her left front paw at the lupine and from that paw a force of intense fire burst forth. It hit the lupine directly in the head and the lupines head went alight with fire. She was lucky that the spell had hit the lupine in the head and that it was strong enough to light the creature on fire and kill it. A harsh and grotesque smell rose up from the burning corpse and using the little magical power that she could still pull forth Merenwen moved some of the lake water over the corpse and put the fire out. The smell still pervaded the air but it got no harsher and the fire would not be able to spread to anything else.
With that done Merwenwen forced herself to her feet and moved off in the direction in which she had left her stuff. She hobbled along on three paws as she was unable to put any weight on her right front paw and as soon as she was out of sight she turned back into her elven form so that she would be able to move along without injuring her arm any more. When she had finally reached her supplies she found it very difficult to carry all of her stuff but she knew that she must for she didn’t want to be unprepared if they were attacked again.
She did not know whether or not the tiger had followed her but she didn’t worry herself with that as the most important thing for her to do was get back and help the elf. She slowly moved back but when she reached the clearing she stopped just inside. She wasn’t sure if she would be in view yet and couldn’t really see them herself but she was slightly worried that the tiger would think her threatening in some way. She expected that the basic smell of her would be the same and hoped that would be enough but still she stood contemplating what she should do.
Tas - June 18, 2007 01:53 PM (GMT)
Takara kept its eyes locked onto the ruined form of the great Lupine, the beast was slowly dragging itself towards Takara and as it drew closer the tiger started to bare it’s teeth and growl out to the Lupine. As he did this the wolf seemed to have raised its left paw up and cast another spell. The tiger of course did not know the spell cast by the woman but it had somehow set the head of the Lupine on fire and in turn has also killed the beast of chaos.
The smell of the Lupines burning flesh was foul and caused Takara to lower himself down to the ground and cover up his nose with his large white front paws. The tiger really didn’t like the smell and it soon died away a little as the wolf used another spell to put out the flames that covered the biggest part of the Lupines head, however even with the smell not as strong the tiger still kept its nose covered up and also had its eyes closed.
When the tiger finally opened up its eyes and got back on all four of its mighty paws he noticed that the wolf who had helped him battle the Lupine was now gone, he had no idea where the wolf had went but Takara hoped it was ok after all the wound the Lupine had made in its front paw looked rather bad the last time the Tiger had seen it. Turning back towards the fallen elven man that Takara served he noticed that the man was once again moving, all be it very little though.
Very slowly Tas placed one of his hands onto the ground and started to push himself up to knees. After a few minutes the purple haired elf managed to raise himself up as far as sitting up straight. He then started to lean against the nearest tree to him letting out a deep sigh, pain still flowing up through his entire body making it painful to inhale air. As Tas tried his hardest to breath smoothly he noticed that Takara had went a picked up his blades, by their hilts, and drag them to the sides of the elf.
Once Takara had brought the blades of Tas next to him the Tiger seemed to instantly turn towards the woods again, but he was not growling. Tas wondered what Takara could have seen, or rather smelled. Could it have been the wolf? Well that is what Tas thought it might have been because of the fact that Takara was now growling out at all. The Elf then placed his left hand against the tree behind him in order to push himself up some more. With amazing pain running through his chest area Tas finally managed to get onto his feet with his eyes locked onto the forest where Takara was looking. The elf then slowly said, “Whoever, or whatever is out there, please come forward. We mean you no harm.” It was only after this that Tas regretted saying those words; after all if it were someone evil then the life of this elf would soon come to a close end.
Not long after speaking the legs of Tas gave way and the elf fell to the ground once more. He needed to get somewhere to heal, and he needed to do it fast. Seeing the elf on the ground again Takara moved closer to him and started to nudge the head of the elf with his own. If the being Takara had sensed in the looking out to him and Tas was out to kill the elf, then there job was going to be rather easy.

Merenwen Coamenel - June 23, 2007 06:14 AM (GMT)
((Nor worries, as I said before, mine aren’t so good right now either and yours isn't that bad at all.))
As she stood fidgeting in the trees Merenwen knew that she needed to just get over her fear so that she could help the elf. Just as she had almost talked herself into going out and showing herself she heard the elf say, “Whoever, or whatever is out there, please come forward. We mean you no harm.”
Hearing this Merenwen decided that her only choice was to trust him because if she didn’t then all the work she had done to help him thus far would likely be in vain and there was a good chance that he would die. She was also very low on energy herself and couldn’t continue to just stand there as the longer she stood the more drained she felt. She needed to set her stuff down and deal with her hand because even though she was no longer walking on it it was still crushed and bleeding heavily.
She finally pushed past the fear of being attacked by the tiger and stepped back out into the clearing. When she stepped out she could see the elf leaning against the tree and wondered if she would be able to do enough. She did not have proper training in anything beyond healing minor wounds but she hoped that she would at least be able to bind his wounds properly with her medical kit. It would be hard to do with only the use of one hand but she would do her best because the elf deserved any help she could give.
She moved over towards him cautiously so as not to scare the tiger and as she got closer she tried to figure out who he was. She recognized him from somewhere but she couldn’t place him right off. As she continued to walk slowly forward she began to run through the faces of all of her friends from home and it was then that his face clicked for her. If he was who she thought he was then they had not exactly been friends but they had played together some when they were younger. In truth, if she was right about whom he was then he had gotten on her nerves a number of times in her youth but he had been from her home and someone who she knew wasn’t evil. If she was right about whom he was then she was even happier to have helped him because although she would have been happy to help anyone who was attacked by evil she couldn’t help but feel an even greater happiness at her success thus far when it was someone she knew personally.
When she found herself at a tree about five yards from him she set her stuff down so that she wouldn’t have any unnecessary weight in hand. She kept hold of her medical kit and her eyes kept jumping to the bodies of the lupines lying on the ground. She almost wished that they could have left the clearing behind as it was now a place that would hold bad memories for her but she knew that to try to move the other elf before dealing with his injuries in some way would be a very bad idea. She would have to deal with her discomfort and do what she could to help.
When she found herself holding only her medical kit she turned to look at both the elf and the tiger and said, “Hi. In case you haven’t figured it out, I was the wolf. My armor allows me to turn into any form I choose and I was on a run in the form of a wolf when I came to aid you.” She decided not to ask him yet if he was who she believed him to be because she didn’t wish to overwhelm him and what she had just told him she felt to be a lot in itself.
“I have a medical kit and would like to try to help you more if you would allow me to do so. I am not overly skilled in such areas but I will do my best if that sounds okay to you,” she said. She stood waiting for both his and the tiger’s reaction before approaching as she thought that giving them the chance to respond would make things more comfortable for both them and herself.
Tas - June 23, 2007 03:47 PM (GMT)
Soon after speaking the purple haired elf saw the form of a woman walking out of the forest, there was something about her, something strange! It was as if Tas was linked to her in some way, like maybe from his past or something but in truth Tas tended not to keep a whole lot of memories from his childhood spent back home, mainly because nothing really seemed to go right for him. Tas had always been picked on for being weak, and if this was someone who knew him from back then well, lets just say that the other Elves would still think him incredible weak if they wound out about the state he was in at that exact moment in time. Letting out a small sigh Tas watched through bloodshot eyes as the woman drew ever closer towards himself and Takara, the Elf then tried to stand up again but soon gave in as he felt the pain in his ribs. The wound was not exactly fatal, but it was clear at least two of his ribs had been broken, infact the only reason Tas was unable to stand was from the sheer lack of energy.
When the woman was about five or so yards from the Elf and his Tiger she set down most of her equipment leaving only, what appeared to be, a medical kit in her hands. It was not long after that moment that Tas heard the woman speak as she said, “Hi. In case you haven’t figured it out, I was the wolf. My armor allows me to turn into any form I choose and I was on a run in the form of a wolf when I came to aid you.” Hearing this straight off came as somewhat of a shock, trying to wrap his head around everything she had said Tas began to think to himself, “She was the wolf? Am I going crazy or something? I mean I have heard of spells that change the form of a being but I have never heard of armour that gives them said ability. Then again there is always a possibility that she is actually a shape shifter, or there is always the other option that I have just not been out of Yomenïampa enough in my life.” The elven man then looked towards the woman once more, he was not exactly sure what he should say.
As he tried to figure out the right words to say Tas noticed that Takara was looking right towards the woman and was not growling what so ever, the woman then spoke again as she said, “I have a medical kit and would like to try to help you more if you would allow me to do so. I am not overly skilled in such areas but I will do my best if that sounds okay to you,” She was still a few feet away from Tas and the Tiger but somehow, just from the way Takara was acting around her, Tas knew he could trust this woman with his life.
Slowly the Elf nodded before saying, “In that case Miss, I am glad that you helped me before and if I had known you were actually an elf and not a basic wolf then I might not have acted the way I did. Sorry for rushing up against the last Lupine, I did not want you, I mean the wolf to get hurt.” He knew that what he said might have sounded rather strange, but Tas had never met anyone before in his life with the power to change forms like this woman had done not to long ago.
He then pushed himself farther against the tree so that his back was somewhat straighter, he then smiled to the woman and went on to say, “And in reply to your offer of help just now, that would be very welcome Miss. It’s not a really bad wound, I am mainly just out of energy and have a couple of broken ribs I think. Oh yeah, my name is Tas Oberon, nice to meet you… em… in your humanoid form.” Once saying this Tas let out a small laugh, but soon had to stop at it hurt his ribs too much. At least he know knew that this woman was truly offering him some help, soon he would be back up on his feet and out travelling the world once more of course he had to heal up first though.
Merenwen Coamenel - June 27, 2007 06:32 AM (GMT)
Merenwen listened to the elf speak and found his first comments to be a bit annoying. More then that, what he was saying upset her because it sounded as if he didn’t care if she was wounded. She could understand that he may have fought differently had he known she was an elf but when he said “Sorry for rushing up against the last Lupine, I did not want you, I mean the wolf to get hurt.” It was the part about meaning that he didn’t want the wolf to get hurt that really upset her. The way it sounded to her was as if he didn’t want a wolf to be hurt but wouldn’t have cared about her as an elf being hurt. She could understand not wanting woodland creatures or any creatures for that matter, to be hurt but to not care if other elves and other such people were hurt seemed wrong to her. She did her best not to show him how she felt because it would be counterproductive but she wasn’t sure how effective she was in hiding her feelings.
She had to force herself to push the annoyance aside because there were more important things to worry about at the time. She found it hard to believe him when he said that his wound wasn’t very bad but she wouldn’t push it, better to just do what she could and let him worry about how bad it was. She didn’t know whether he would take time to relax and heal or not but she couldn’t force him to if he chose not to and so she would wrap his wounds to the best of her ability and let him make his own decisions from there.
The tiger didn’t seem to feel that she was threatening as it wasn’t growling and she wondered if it was able to recognize her smell and thus knew not to worry. She was guessing that was the case as smell was very important to animals but she wasn’t sure. Even so, the fact that the tiger didn’t feel threatened would make her job much easier as she wouldn’t need to worry about being attacked by the beautiful tiger. That in mind she moved over next to the male elf and knelt down by his side. She had yet to deal with her hand but even with his saying that his wounds weren’t serious she still decided to help him first. She didn’t think she would be able to cast more then one heal spell as she could feel that her mana was low and she felt that it would be best used on him. She would have to sew her hand up and wrap it as best as she could but if she did that before helping him then she would lose what little dexterity she had.
Opening her medical kit she started by pulling out some cotton balls that she would use to clean the blood from his wounds. She looked at the Athelas that was in her kit but didn’t feel that her wound was bad enough to waste it on and felt that using her heal spell once on him would be enough to at least help, though she didn’t know how much help it would be. She also didn’t want to use her potion as it was very strong but if she found it was needed she would use one or both. She also pulled out her gauze and a needle in case she needed it for him or for herself.
With her stuff sitting at her side she reached out and placed her uninjured hand against the elf’s chest. Looking into his eyes she said, “I am going to use my heal spell on you but I don’t believe it will heal all of your wounds. I am hoping that it will at least heal your ribs but I can’t be sure that it will do even that. Afterwards I will probably need you to move away from the tree so that I can help with the wounds on your back and if needed wrap gauze around you to help you gain strength faster. If it is needed I have stuff that would help you heal faster but I’m hoping that enough can be done without it as we can’t know that we won’t be attacked again and if we are we may need it a lot more then than we do now.”
With that said she cast her heal spell on him and directed it towards his broken ribs. She hoped that it would help and even as she cast it she felt the last of her mana drain from her body. She had not been completely truthful with him but that may have related to her earlier annoyance. She didn’t think they would be attacked again on that day but she had been in danger many times and felt she may need it some other day in the future.
Tas - July 4, 2007 12:23 PM (GMT)
Thinking back on what he had said to the woman only moments before Tas let out a sigh, how could he have been so stupid? Closing his eyes for a moment Tas thought to himself, “I guess that Lupine attacking did not help my nerves around other people, if only I had not been put through so much training as a kid then maybe I would have had time to get to know more people. She must think I am some kind of idiot or something.” After thinking this the young elven man slowly opened his eyes again, that was when he saw the woman walking closer towards him and settling down near him. Tas watched silently as she placed down a medical kit and opened it up, just seeing all the different things inside of the kit Tas was very impressed, although when he saw the needle a slight wave of worry swept over him, he really didn’t like needles but sadly sometimes it could not be helped getting them.
Looking towards the beautiful woman, as she carefully set out her medical kit, Tas curled his lips into a smile because in truth he was happy that someone was offering him help and he knew deep down within himself that had the woman not been there he would have been killed instantly by the Lupines before, yes Tas owed his life to this woman and he would forever be in her debt. Soon he felt her hand against his chest as she did so their eyes locked together and Tas heard the woman say, “I am going to use my heal spell on you but I don’t believe it will heal all of your wounds. I am hoping that it will at least heal your ribs but I can’t be sure that it will do even that. Afterwards I will probably need you to move away from the tree so that I can help with the wounds on your back and if needed wrap gauze around you to help you gain strength faster. If it is needed I have stuff that would help you heal faster but I’m hoping that enough can be done without it as we can’t know that we won’t be attacked again and if we are we may need it a lot more then than we do now.” Right after saying that Tas felt the heal spell running through his body and healing the biggest part of his wounds, sure they were not fully healed but at least he would not be in danger of them getting worse now.
As the heal spell finished its work Tas continued to look at the woman, the smile still across his lips, he then softly said to her, “Miss, thinking back on the exact words I said before I must say I am sorry. I was well… I was kind of nervous and I just want you to know that I owe you my life. From this day forth I am in your debt.” He just had to hope that his apology would be accepted, as Tas really did not want the woman to get the wrong idea of him. It was right after he had said this that Tas noticed Takara moving towards the woman at a slowly pace, once the tiger was close enough to the woman it let out a small noise. It was not exactly a growl, the tiger was trying to show the woman he that he to was thankful of her help before.
Letting a small laugh part by his lips Tas then said, “Well looks like Takara is thankful too, now you have us both in your debt. If you ever need help, or just someone to talk to we will be there, although by the condition I am just now you might think I wouldn’t be much help in any battle.” He still kept his eyes looking into those of the elven woman, but then something Tas was not expecting to happen did happen, his cheeks started to turn a deep shade of red as a blush came over them. It seemed that Tas was more nervous than he first thought he was.
With the blush coming over his cheeks the purpled haired elf lowered his head down trying to hide the blush from the beautiful woman that had helped him, in doing this Tas noticed her other hand. Seeing that her hand was wounded caused him to think back to the battle where he remembered the paw of the wolf being bite down on hard by the last Lupine. Just seeing the wound on her hand Tas said, “Miss, your hand… you need to heal as well.” Once saying this he lifted his head again, forgetting about the blush that was slowly taking over his cheeks, and looked into the woman’s eyes, that was he noticed that he did not know the name of this woman however he was now to nervous to talk. Takara on the other hand tilted his large head looking towards both Tas and the woman with a somewhat puzzled look.
((OOC: Sorry if its not great ^^ they will get better I promise.))
Merenwen Coamenel - July 7, 2007 08:59 AM (GMT)
Merenwen listened to him as she worked and though it may have been rude there was still a small part of her that wondered how truthful he was being. It wasn’t exactly that she thought he was lying but she had often found that what people said without thinking was often more truthful then what they said after they thought it through. Either way, she decided that it would be best to give him the shadow of the doubt as she knew that the experience they had been through could scramble the brain and so it was highly possible that he hadn’t meant it the way she had first said it. She decided to put the whole issue aside as it really didn’t matter and it would be best to keep things calm for the time being.
She was a little uncomfortable with his mentioning being in her debt; she did not help people in order to get help. She helped people because it was the right thing to do and she felt odd having someone feel as if they owed her something. If she hadn’t helped him then she would never have forgiven herself and so his living was enough for her. She then heard the tiger behind her and jumped slightly. It wasn’t that she was afraid of the tiger exactly; more that she had been surprised. When the elf explained to her what the tiger was doing she blushed slightly.
Knowing that the tiger also felt that it owed her just added to her disconcerted feeling as again all she had done was what she felt she must. While she didn’t want them to feel as if they owed her she didn’t want to seem rude by telling them that. Tas may have believed that she thought he would be of no help which was not the case, it was just that she hadn’t helped him for any other reason then that she had felt it right.
Not knowing what else to do she continued to work and hoped that she would be able to help him enough. Her hand was hurting but she still knew that if she were to wrap it as she was planning to she would lose all dexterity in her hand and not be able to finish helping him. She was trying to think of how to deal with the situation but nothing seemed quite right.
When he noticed her hand she paused in her work again unsure of how to proceed. He seemed rather worried about it but she needed to finish helping him before she could help herself. When he looked up and saw the blush on his face one spread across her own and at the same time she realized that he was still calling her Miss because she had forgotten to give him her name. She blushed even more and felt as if she had been extremely rude by not having given her name. In truth she just hadn’t been thinking about it as she had been more worried about helping both him and herself.
She swallowed and said, “I’m so sorry, I forgot to give my name. I am Merenwen Coamenel. As for my hand, I will deal with it as soon as I have finished with your wounds because if I wrap it now I won’t have the dexterity to finish helping you.” She paused trying to figure out how to continue and then said, “If you would move away from the tree I will take a look at your back. Also, it is not that I don’t think you could be of help to me but know that I don’t hold you in debt. I only helped because that is who I am and because I could not live with myself if I hadn’t helped you.”
She hoped that he wouldn’t take anything she had said wrong. She didn’t want to upset him, she just felt that it would be best to tell him the truth. She thought that it may be possible that they would continue to be friends at the very least but she didn’t want him to be there because he felt he had a debt to her. She didn’t believe that people should hold those they helped in debt, to do so took away the most important part in helping someone and that is to do what is right because it is right.
((Sorry it’s kind of short and crappy.))
Tas - July 10, 2007 01:52 PM (GMT)
Tas slowly curled his lips into a wider smile as he noticed that he was not the only one blushing at that moment since the beautiful woman before him was also blushing. It was not that long after the both of them were blushing that the young woman began to speak to the elven man, it turned out her name was Merenwen Coamenel and for some reason the name stuck in the mind of Tas, he could have sworn that he knew it from somewhere else. Merenwen had also told Tas the reason that she had not healed her hand first which caused the elven man to blush a little deeper, after a small pause in her words the young woman called Merenwen then went on to kindly ask Tas if he would move away from the tree so that she could see his back, as well as telling him that he owed her no kind of debt. Once hearing this Tas slowly closed his eyes and bit down on his lower lip.
Placing his hands down onto the ground the elf pushed himself forwards and away from the tree, and much to his surprise there was not as much pain as before. Infact the pain was almost all gone, this woman really knew what she was doing when she healed him and Tas was very grateful for that fact. Once he had moved away from the tree like the woman had asked him to Tas opened his eyes again and looked right towards Merenwen as he said, “Wow, the pain is almost all gone now. Thank you Merenwen! You really helped me out a lot. And I know you said that Takara and myself are not in your debt at all, but maybe there is something that we could do to repay you Miss Merenwen?” Right after saying this Tas moved his left hand from the ground up to his head gently pushing his hair out of his eyes.
As Tas sat their waiting on a reply from Merenwen he began to think back on his past trying to figure out where he had heard her name from. Before he could see himself as a small child playing with some of the other child elves in the land of Yomenïampa, oh those had been the days. Tas could remember the love he held for his homeland as well as his parents, but he had always been the one that had wanted to go out on many different adventures and because of that fact Tas had also gotten into a whole lot of trouble as child. He still had the same thirst for adventure as an adult that he had as a child although he know knew how to defend himself better, of course it would not have seemed like after the attack of the Lupines. Usually Tas would have been alert enough to have known the beasts where there but on that day he had been trying to relax and have a peaceful day for once.
Still thinking back onto his past Tas began to remember clearly some of the children that he use to play with, most of them got rather annoyed at him though dew to his adventurous nature, it was at that moment that Tas remember one young little female elf very very clearly! It turned out that Tas really did know Merenwen from his childhood in Yomenïampa, he had played along with her a few other children sometimes but most of them soon abandoned Tas or just told him that he could not play with him whenever he asked. Suddenly Tas stopped thinking back on his past and let out a small amount of laughter from his lungs, noticing that he had just randomly laughed made the blush on the cheeks of Tas to grow deeper as he slowly said to Merenwen, “Em… sorry if what I am about to say seems somewhat strange Miss Merenwen, but well… I assume that since you are an elf your home was in Yomenïampa correct? If so em… do you happen to remember a young boy with purple hair whom also got himself into trouble named Tas?” Right after saying this his smile slightly widened as he waited on a reply from Merenwen, he was still sitting away from the tree but since he had been lost in his own thoughts the elf did not know if Merenwen had checked his back yet or not.
((OOC: Since Tas was lost in thought you can make his random laugh come at anytime  )
Merenwen Coamenel - July 16, 2007 07:09 AM (GMT)
When Tas moved away from the tree Merenwen moved behind him to see how bad his back was. She had been sure that her spell would not heal him completely as it wasn’t the most powerful of healing spells but she was glad to see that she wouldn’t need to give him any stitches. She had never given stitches before and wasn’t confident in her ability, especially with her hand hurt as badly as it was. She still thought it would be best to wrap him so that the back wounds would not get infected and so she used some of the gauze to do so. It was difficult as she had very little feeling in her injured hand but at least she knew that she had done what she could.
She wrapped the gauze tightly around him, though she was careful not to wrap it too tightly as she didn’t want to injure him and listened as he spoke to her. She was glad that most of his pain was gone but when he again mentioned feeling like he owed her something she just didn’t know what to say. She would not ask him for help for herself as she had helped him because it was what was right and to get something back from him was not right in her mind. She was running through what she could say and having a very difficult time coming up with something.
She had finished wrapping his wounds and moved back beside him to work on her own hand. She was having a great deal of difficulty in wrapping her hand as she had no way to hold the gauze in place and every attempt she made was met with failure. She knew that some of the bones in her hand had been broken but she prayed that they would mend themselves. If the pain continued at the level it was she would be forced to use some of the other healing herbs in her kit but again she hoped not to need to do that. She wondered if she may have needed stitches but again was scared to attempt putting stitches in her hand and so continued to try and fail at wrapping her hand.
When Tas burst out laughing she looked up in shock and wondered what he was finding so funny. She didn’t think he would laugh about her predicament but then she didn’t know him that well and so couldn’t be sure what had caused the outburst of laughter. When he spoke of Yomeniampa and of the purple haired boy named Tas she realized that she did know him. She had thought she recognized him earlier but had been unsure and chose not to ask as she didn’t want to make a fool of herself.
Now that he had mentioned it she chuckled slightly and said, “I do remember you. I had thought you looked familiar before but was unsure and was too nervous to mention it. I can remember that you were never the most popular one of us and fear that I also remember not being the nicest person to you at times myself. I hope I didn’t do anything to harsh and that you will forgive me for any times that I was mean. I must admit, you annoyed me at times and though I have nothing against you I have been known to let my annoyance get the better of me at times. As for a way that you can repay me, it is not necessary. The only thing I would ask is that if you ever find someone who is in need of help and are capable of helping them that you will do so. We live in a dangerous world and it is important that we help each other.”
Merenwen was still trying to wrap her hand and still was unable to do so. She moved her hand wrong and winced slightly as bolts of pain went through her. If she didn’t find a way to take care of her hand soon then she would just continue to lose blood and she knew that blood loss was very dangerous. She was also worried about the possibility of her hand being permanently damaged if she did not find a way to take care of it soon. Her eyes were locked on her hand and the bite marks that showed as she prayed within herself for help in healing it.
