It was high midnight and the full moon was beaming bright white light from the blackened sky. The sand upon the beach was almost swarming with crabs and other nocturnal sea-life. The waves lapped peacefully against the shore.

Selene sat a few feet back from the water. She was curled up in a comfortable postion and her wings surrounded her. Bleak black eyes stared out across the sea, and her hair layed limp upon her shoulders. Half of Selene awaited the arrival of other beings and the other half wished everyone would just stay away.

"It's so beautiful" she wispered. The trace of words softly crossed her lips.

Tulkas had been wandering the realm of Arda, looking for those brave enough to join him against the darkness. His search had not provided him with much thus far, and his heart was heavy.

Walking along the ocean sprayed beach, he thought about his home. He stopped, and sat in the sand, and tilted his head upwards. He could see the moon so clearly, and he was at a loss of words for how beautiful his home looked from here. He sat motionless, letting the beauty of the moon and the ebbing of the waters relax him.

Selene jumped when she heard someone coming. She watched the newcomer walk down the beach and sit down, from the spot upon which she sat. By the way he walked she could see that he had alot on his mind or something was bothering him.

Selene notice how he had not seen her yet, or if he had, had chosen not to acknowledge her. Selene glared at him. He had disterbed her in her spot, but then again she wanted to met new people right? Oh she was so confused. So, at a loss of what to do, she just sat there like a stupid bump on a log and waited for the man to notice her.

Letting the beauty around him soak in, he layed down on his back, his hands behind his head. The air was cool and smelled of the sea. The soft sand providing a comfortable bed, he let his thoughts drift as well as his conciousness. Before he knew it, he was fast asleep on the white beach.

Selene almost burst out laughing. 'Must be really tired she thought. She had a big smile on her face. She stood up, brushed the sand off of her bottom and quietly walked over to him. Selene stood over him for a few moments, staring into his face as he slept. She let her thoughts wander to another being, long forgotten but she soon snapped herself back to reality.
"you might consider waking up now" Selene said loud enough so that a few crabs scurried away. She waited to see if he heard her.

Tulkas slowly opened one eye, and looked up at the person standing above him. "Hello fair lady. Why is it that I need rouse myself? I do not appear to be in any form of danger, should I have something to worry about?"
