Title: Contemplating
Círdan Singollo - April 15, 2007 09:08 PM (GMT)
When most people think of evil, they think of evil wizards in pointy hats who kidnap princesses and lock them away in towers which are guarded by fierce fire breathing dragons. And then the gallant prince comes along in his shining armour to slay the dragon with a hack, slash and a stab. Then he'll save the princess, remove his helmet and reveal that he is a handsome prince with blonde hair, blue eyes and a smile so shiny it could start a forest fire.
What a lie that theory was.
There were no princesses locked in towers, no knights in shining armour and no wizards with nicely manucured beards. Evil was anywhere and everywhere, heck it could even be in this room. Círdan Singollo was thinking of this, drinking a mug of ale, and thinking of the past day or two. He had been brash and stupid to make a fool of Julian, who had kidnapped him in the end. He could have been killed and the bruises on his chest still ached from where the young half-elf had been kicked by bandits.
Someone came up to him, and turning to meet this stranger, Círdan saw a woman not much older than him. She was blonde haired and wore a tight dress which did very little to hide her womanly charms. Immediatley, Círdan turned back to his ale and played ignorance... he didn't need this, not now, not ever. His foster parents had tried to warn him that the adventurers life was a dangerous one and they were right. But what if this was only the beginning? What if something...
"Stanger, you look like you've travelled a long way from home..."
Was the woman still here? Círdan forced himself to raise his head to meet her eye level. Yep, she was still here, and was still looking for trade.
"Perhaps I can keep you company stranger. I'm told I'm a good listener..."
Círdan dug into his pocket and pulled out a few gold coins, placing them on the table. This woman had chosen the wrong time to saunter up to him and offer her services. And quite frankly, he wasn't in the mood to put up with a woman selling herself for whatever reasons. All he wanted was ale and a nice warm bed to sleep in... alone... that was it.
"Take this gold and leave me be woman, go thrust your chest out elsewhere... just leave me be."
The woman took the hint and scooped up the gold with a smile of greediness, before running off somewhere to do whatever she was going to do. Círdan didn't care, instead he got up and flung a coin purse at the barkeep's table, watching it land softly like a feather.
"One room for the night please sir..."
The barkeep nodded and took out a small box which clanked as it hit the table. Opening it up, the barkeep began to search for whatever key he was looking for, eventually finding it and giving it to Círdan.
"Here you go sir, it's for the room upstairs that's first on the left. Enjoy your sleep sir..."
Círdan took the key with a nod and went upstairs, unlocking the door and locking it again. Taking his blade and placing it near the bed, so he could grab it if needed be, Círdan lay down and closed his eyes. He didn't bother taking his clothes off, he simply laid on the hard bed and pulled the covers over him. And then he let the powerful feeling of sleep close his eyes and pull him into dreamland.
Ganon - May 9, 2007 01:52 AM (GMT)
Ganon had come in the village to quench to thirst on this night. One was a thirst for Alcohol, the other blood. Tonight he had a vicious and ravining hunger for blood. He went toward the inn and entered his black cloak billowing behind him. He sat down at the bar and the bartender looked at him and turned white. Ganon said," Wine the finest wine youve got". When his wine came he took a drink a noticed this man he was being bothered by a rather presumtious woman leave and go to his room. Ganon smiled vicouly if it had been him he woudl have taken his pleasure from her vicously and then kill her in the most evil manner. He chuckled slightly and the woman came up to him and said," You look tired stranger how bout I keep you company tonight". To his spurise this woman did not blanch at him like others did. He was fearsome to look upon, oh yes he had normal features but his eyes showed deep hatred. He said," I coudl use some company, barkeep give me room for me and the lady". He soon went up to the room and in followed the lady. He locked the door and turned to her and slipped out his sword at which the womans face turned white nad he said," Now my dear we shall have that company you wanted to give me". He laughed evilay and wnet for her as she screamed.
Shelendri - May 9, 2007 04:00 AM (GMT)
Shelendri wandered through the village, trying to decide if she should stay the night, or camp out. Staying in the Kaima Inn sounded easier on her back, though harder on her stomach. Spying a food stall, she bought herself a rather tasty pasty and decided to sleep in the inn for the night. Entering the bar that seemed to take up the first level of the building, she finished off her pasty and went over to the bar. While she was here she might as well have something to drink. Sittting down on one of the bar stools, she glanced around her. There were a number of patrons enjoying a tankard of drink that evening, some of them looking rather worse for it. One man further along the bar itself caught her attention. His features were rather normal, but it was his eyes that her focus came to. The hatred in them made her shudder.
A woman who looked as though she was a of those who offered their bodies to men in exchange for coin slidled up to him, seemingly not disturbed by his eyes. That fact made her want to shudder again. The man got himself a room and then the pair went upstairs. Shaking her head, she decided to forgo the drink and ordered herself her own room. Taking her room key from the bartender, she made her way up the stairs. At the top she heard terror-filled screams. Hurrying over to the door the screams were eminating from, she pounded on it. "Hey! What's going on in there! Open up!" If the door didn't open in thirty seconds, she was going to break it down. No one screamed like that without a reason.
Ganon - May 9, 2007 12:52 PM (GMT)
As Ganon was about to start on the frightened woman he heard bashing at his door and the woman almost cried out for help but Ganon silenced her by stuffing cloth in her mouth and then he tied her quickly yo the bed. He would rid the fool who dared disturb him of their fool head. He grabbed his sword and put on his shirt and went to the door and heard a womans voice yelling and Ganon smiled and thought," Oh more fun for me tonight". He opened the door the hatred and anger glaring in his eyes and he said," Little girl you about disturbed my feast, I was abotu to give the lady what she wanted, I suggest you leve if you don't want the same", He smield malivously hoing she would want it, he wanted a feast tonight he knew he would get it.
Shelendri - May 10, 2007 03:52 AM (GMT)
The door swang open just as she was about to shape shift and break it down. Glancing inside, she saw the woman who'd slidled up to the man earlier tied to the bed, gagged. Her terror-filled eyes begged Shelendri to do something. Shelendri turned angry eyes to the man, her body tensing. "No. Release that woman, or I'll have to make you." She wasn't willing to use magic in these close quarters, but that wasn't really a problem. Any animal that was large and had long teeth and claws would to the job. "And believe me, you don't want me to do that." She felt a burning rage towards this man. It was obvious he enjoyed causing fear and pain, and she dispissed people like that. He most definately wasn't going to be having his fun tonight.
Ganon - May 10, 2007 03:26 PM (GMT)
Ganon laughed at the girl and he said," I was hoping you'd say that little girl, but then again you have no idea who are what Iam, Iam The Scourge of The Bad Lands, Iam The Dark Destruction of The Destert, Iam Ganondorf the Gerudo, Iam also a Dark Wizard and a Shapeshifter". He laughed once more at girl and said," If you knew what was wise little girl you leave me to my feats, the hoar asked for this and I will give it to her". Without another word Ganon drew his blade and said," Go home to mama little girl, I have no patince with weaklings".
Shelendri - May 11, 2007 04:28 AM (GMT)
Shelendri fained a frighted look. "You are all that?" Then she dropped the look and drew her own blade. "Well, Ganondorf the Gerudo, I am Shelendri Finlay, Druid and Shapeshifter. I am also a fair hand with a sword. And no woman, no matter what their profession, asks to be terrorised and harmed. And anyway, even if I don't stop you, you're in an inn full of people. They might not hear her scream from behind that door, but all I have to do is let out one, and will be swamped by men. Now, is that really what you want?" Her eyes were defiant and angry. She would not stand for any man harming a woman. That he was also a shape shifter didn't worry her that much. You were only as good as the things you could shift into, and hers were good.
Ganon - May 11, 2007 03:32 PM (GMT)
Ganon laughed at the girl and knew she obviously had not heard of him if she had she would have been quaking in her boots. This girl probably thought herself equal to him but she was young and naive and Ganon had seen more than her and done more and he said," I don't care if you scream if anyone comes up they will die just the same, Iam far betetr with the sword than most anybody they wil ldie, see if I care that you scream, but in the end for your defiance you die as well". Without another word Ganon tunred his back to the girl and went to the woman and saidm," Iam sorry we were interuppted my dear". His scimitar glowed in the night and in an instance the womans blood was on the scimitar and Ganon felt the womans life seep away as the womans blood creeped up his sword. He then licked the blood of the sword his eyes glowing in delight at its taste. He said," Girl you shall pay for disturbing my chance at fun". HE turned to her ready for anything that might come.
Tarlak - May 12, 2007 03:54 PM (GMT)
An eyebrow thrust from under the darkness of the stairs, Tarlak was here to relieve a certain patron of their valuables as a favour to someone he owed, he hated being in someone else's debt, though however this time it was a matter of life or death, if he didn't get that necklace back tonight then he would have to do a fair bit in order to maintain his head upon his shoulders. However incidents arose this night which only peaked his interest from the matter at hand. The stairs were close to the room in question, upstairs lay his quarry however down here was something far more valuable, he had after all seen the man and woman enter the room, the woman looked far too eager to please him, by all accounts he was hideous, clearly not a human, though stranger things had happened at sea.
The man in question was simply barbaric, there was no dignity in what he did, it was simple hack and slash, no tact, not a true warrior, the door locked and he heard the key turn in the lock. Obviously from the screams and shouts the intent of the man was far less than honourable, he could hear his voice threatening all sorts of plights upon her, hardly a real man in Tarlak eyes there was nothing that said coward more than the killing of an innocent woman.
The drow sat within the darkness for a short while, before a woman came along, banging on the door to open it, the key turned and the lock snapped open, the man appeared once again in the door way talking about a feast of sorts and threatening yet again another woman, though this one seemed more capably armed than the last. It got more and more interesting by the second, a wry smile pulled his lips across his face.
The battle of words ensued between them, throwing about threats to one another, both appeared to be shape shifters, if only Tarlak had his net he could bag one of them and sell them on the market, ah well alas for such preparations as his own.
Rising from under the stairs he stood behind the woman and looked at the gerudo, there was nothing worse than seeing a drow stood before you, their kin had a reputation that won hands down on any other race, sure people were afraid of demons, but they barely broke through the planer barrier. A drow on the other hand could be anywhere and their implements sharp and ready to kill.
Drawing his scimitar he stared at the man, he was taller but that hardly phased the Drow, he had faced worse in the underdark. He didn't have to say anything, Drow reputation was all he needed.
Shelendri - May 13, 2007 06:10 AM (GMT)
When Ganon turned and cut the woman with his sword, an icy rage filled Shelendri. How dare he! The idea to shape shift into a dragon flashed through her mind, but she turned it aside. There wasn't enough room here, and she wouldn't be able to move. When he came back, she prepared herself to strike at him, then she heard someone position themself behind her. What's this? She doubted that Ganon had an allie with him, so was this person out to help her. Wanting to make sure, she looked over her shoulder at the person, and felt a chill move through her. The unknown person who was standing beside her was a drow. That made her very wary. Did he want to harm her, or Ganon. Behind her, he was in the perfect position to strike her down, but he hadn't as yet, so she could only hope that meant he was on her side. She'd never had a drow on her side before, but she'd take any allie she could in this matter.
She turned back to Ganon. Now that the tables had been turn to her favour, how would he take it?
Ganon - May 16, 2007 02:18 PM (GMT)
Ganon smiled at the girl but then somethign he did not expect apeared it was a drow. His eyes grew with more hatred and anger than they ever had. He hated drow mostly because they thought themselves better because the yhad a reputation. Ganon said," You may think the odds are in your favor but they are not for I have allies from the shadows, and you drow you chose the wrong place to show your face to Ganondorf the Gerudo". He laughed maniaclly and jumped back and thrust out his hand and said," Summon Lesser Shadow". In a instant a shadowy being smaller than a human appeared in the form of an Orc who was deifnitely smaller than a human. He then said," Now the odds are not so mutch in your favor as it seems".
Tarlak - May 17, 2007 07:17 PM (GMT)
Tarlak smirked, after all who was this warrior before him to defy such reasonable odds, most defiantly within the woman's favour, after all it was her Tarlak was fighting with. He suppressed laughter no sooner had the warrior and seemingly mage before him conjured up something from the shadows. Really, was that meant to even the tables in the slightest?
Grabbing Shelendri by the shoulder, he squeezed it tightly as he brushed past the side of her, squeezing between the shoddy door frame and her.
He brought his scimitar out across his frame and to the side, as he began to look up towards the warrior who called himself Ganon. He looked at the fiend of shadows conjured up from the shadows plane of existence. An orc, a brutish orc, they were unintelligent creatures of primal urges, more of a hindrance to any cause than a help,Really, what did Ganon believe himself to achieve through this simple summoning.
He couldn't help himself he had to get it.
“Do you honestly believe that what you have just brought forth from the plane of shadows will actually aid you in this fight in the slightest. I am Drow, my kin are the shadows, we are the reason why people are afraid of what lurks within them, we invented afraid of the dark.”
It was true, drow were creatures of shadow and ill repute, there was nothing more to be feared than a drow in shadows, and Tarlak was damned if he would back down from such a minor conjuring as this one.
”I have seen far more terrible sights than this pathetic creature you bring before me and i have brought them all down to their knees with a terrible wrath.I have seen fledgling drow conjurers bring forth creatures far more terror inspiring than that.”
After all the orc before him was more akin to a goblin, he wasn't even sure how much this so called sorcerer knew. Perhaps just a warrior who had gotten hold of a spell and somehow pulled it off.
He grinned at the sheer stupidity of the warrior before him, if he was still certain that what ever creature he had produced was capable of dispatching Tarlak then Tarlak would quite happily prove his point the old fashioned drow way.
Ganon - May 17, 2007 08:11 PM (GMT)
Ganons eyes glittered with fury and anger at the drow. This creature a brother of the shadow dared to speak to him this way. This was obviously an exile drow or else he would have been dead already. He said with heat and anger in his voice," You dare speak to one trained by the Dark Wizard Morgoth in such a way, I was his most prized pupil, I know all of his dark magics, do not dare to think just because I summoned a lesser creature that I cannot destroy you". He the looked at the lesser shadow and said," Leave the drow to me kill the girl". He then jumped back and swung his scimitar right at the drows neck hoping to lop off his head.
Tarlak - May 20, 2007 01:25 PM (GMT)
The scimitar of Tarlak's came racing upwards from his side, stopping the blade of Ganon's from removing his head from his perfectly shaped shoulders. He smirked in knowledge of Ganon's claims, if he knew all the dark magic's that Morgoth the dark wizard possessed they why by all the creatures in the abyss did he relay upon a sword to defeat a single drow warrior? Wizard's were renowned for their superior attitude over those who practised melee combat, they were comfortable in the knowledge that their spells could over come any blade of mortal craft, and with such an extensive library of spells at Ganon's apparent beck and call, where were they?
Tarlak grinned knowing the bluff all to well, perhaps he studied the works of the Dark wizard Morgoth but if one is going to make a claim to such greatness then they better be able to back up their claims, which Ganon appeared to not be able to achieve.
”Cunning ruse my boy, but if you were indeed to learn such an extensive arsenal of spells you would be far older than you appear to be now. You are also showing a clear lack of intelligence to learn such archaic spells.” Tarlak knew that words ran deeper than any blade as he held his own scimitar up against Ganon's blade. The battle had turned to more of a mental battle than that of a physical show of prowess. ”If you knew it you could of blow both me and the girl away by now with only half the effort of your previous ramblings, you also wouldn't be here terrorizing poor wenches.” Another point Tarlak made, why would a powerful wizard pick solely upon a bar wench? ”I have had dealings with the Lich drow Dyrr and he is far more powerful than you and not even half as old as Morgoth. I call your bluff charlatan trickster” He pressed hard against Ganon's blade, shoving him back slightly but enough for him to shift his own blade underneath Ganon's and press it away from his neck, leaving Ganon wide open.
Ganon - May 22, 2007 11:05 PM (GMT)
Ganon laughed and said," Bluff there was no bluff I may not use it but that does not mean I know it, besides drow there is more pleasure killing with your own hands than with magic". He turned his blade and came apain at the drow this time at his side and Ganon said," One should not underestimate one of the Gerudo".
Tarlak - May 26, 2007 09:03 PM (GMT)
The drows finely crafted scimitar raced upwards the sheer edge of the weapon hungry to once again meet the steel of the gerudo. Tarlak once again began to muse about the pompous and pretenious attitude that this gerudo warrior wielded as well as any sword he held within his hands and by Tarlak's standards he wasn't that well adept. The sound of steel meeting steel followed the soon crashing blades as both of them pressed hard onto their weapon holding the implements of demise dead centre between one another. The gerudo was the stronger of the pair but Tarlak only had to step back for a second and once again begin another strike directed towards the gerudo.
As a drow he had been forged into a natural living weapon deep within the subterranean nightmare that was the underdark, there he was moulded into a finely tuned instrument of darkness, a wielder of daggers within the shadows that sought a sheath of flesh.
Of course Tarlak was not the average drow by any standards, he held a defining charisma and attitude that belied his dark heritage and made him seem altogether more dangerous than anyone could ever manage to comprehend.
His tongue was sharp as any blade and struck just as well, the effects were clearly beginning to show upon Ganons face and within his style of fighting. He wanted to face the drow all by himself and let his lesser summoned minion deal with his initial threat...Such a fool.
Any practising mage would of battled with the shape shifter first and foremost after all, those of that profession were often associated with magic, all that was required by the woman who stood in the doorway was a single banishing spell and the summons would have been extradited from this world leaving the odds deep within Tarlak's favour.
Claiming he was taught by Morgoth the mage did little for his former masters credibility, one so challenged intellectually as this was damaging to anyone's reputation, especially in such obvious circumstances.
Though Tarlaks forked tongue had prodded him like a demons trident and obviously caused him pain, so much so that he made an obvious discrepancy within his words.
“Allow me to quote you” He replied as his sword came back towards Ganons yet again after being repelled by a former attack. “Bluff there was no bluff I may not use it but that does not mean I know it...Precisely my point, it means that you do not know it”
Again he turned the battle field from a physical fight and added a battle of words and wit, though Ganon appeared to show no sign of either. Cold and single minded.
Shame. He could have been useful.
Ganon - May 27, 2007 03:31 AM (GMT)
Ganon laughed and nside himself knew he had to end this game hwas losing concentration and cool. He sighed and said," It seems that your wit is quick, but then again only a fool talks when he should battle." Ganon decided to turn this battle up a notch. He blocked the drows sword and then foucsed on his own. HE brought out something Morgoth had taught him to perfect something called The Oneness or The Flame and The Void. HE pictured a bright Flame and became one wit heverythign around him, the sord , the drow he was evrything and nothing now he was the perfect warrior. With more skill than he had used prior he decided to switch to blademaster styles than regular fighting. Soon Spear Catches LEaf meet Eagel Rises Over Moon, FOllowed by Tiger Lifts Mountain and Raging Dragon all baldemaster styles taught by the legendary Gerudo swordsmen.
