Title: Wonderful Drunks
Description: open

Erk - April 11, 2007 02:43 PM (GMT)
The bar was rather noisy this evening, its occupants rowdy and full of ail. Tankards were being lifted high everywhere, and shouts ran about like noisy little children. The way these people were drinking, Erk was surprised that they themselves weren't running around like children as well. The lazy, lone mage apprentice sat a t a table in one of the far corners of the pub, watching through bored eyes as the drunks shoved and joked coursely. He himself was enjoying a simple tea with honey. He didn't like alcohol all that much. He never could hold it very well, much unlike the rest of his family.

As Erk sat alone, bored beyond belief, but too lazy to actually entertain himself, a group of three drunkards who liked to prance around the pub came to his table. "We loooooky har," the lead one said. Two green eyes looked up at the man, and one eyebrow was raised. "We'sh gots erselves a yerng laddie what dont'sss wans ter drink." The other to laughed at this as if their leader had made one of the funniest jokes they had ever heard. "And looky what we have also," replied Erk. "A couple of regular men who can drink twice their own weight in ail. Quite an accomplishment for you I bet."

The three men's eyebrows scrunched down as they tried to understand words not spoken in a drunken slur. Erk rolled his eyes and spoke again. "You smell funny and are idiots, but you should go and drink your hearts out. Literally." At this, the drunk men roared with happiness and took his advice, calling for more beer to sate their thirst. Erk shook his head. Drunks were wonderful when it came to manipulation.

Fraylis Arden - April 11, 2007 03:04 PM (GMT)
Amongst those lucky drunks....in this noise all around a young lady sat at the bar. Her beauty was so aluring that no any girl could match her in this bar. She was slender and delicate. Skin smooth and flawless, red hair would flow with wind as easyly as the waer, they were as red as blood. She sat at the bar with her crystal grey eyes gazed upon her glass of red wine and reading some kind of journal. What was that only she knew. This beauty didn't pay much attention at anything that surrounded her. Her slender delicate fingers playing with pages, reading one after one over and over again. Many tryed to attrackt her attention but failed. She was too deep into her own thoughts about something interesting.

Erk - April 11, 2007 05:13 PM (GMT)
As the three happy friends pranced away, full tankards in their hands once more, Erk decided that he was thirsty and should drink his tea again. however, when he attempted to do so, he found a slight problem. His cup was now empty. "Damn," he mumbled to himself. looking up, he searched for a free barmaid not indulging a drunk on his lap. Unfortunately, there happened to be none. "Great," he mumbled again. He would have to actually do something for once that didn't involve reading, magic, or easy thinking. Worse, it had to be physical. Not that he wasn't strong enough or fit, he just hated actually doing things. With another grumble, Erk pushed himself up out of his chair and began walking towards the bar counter. Hopefully the barman was not indulging himself with his employs at the moment.

Walking slowly, Erk moved slightly to avoid any thing hitting him as men swung pewter tankards of liquid around. He eventually made it to the bar, cursing himself for sitting so far from the counter. Loudly, he rapped on the counter, looking left and right for the tender. No one. He rapped again, louder this time. Still no one. Sighing, he pulled up a stool and sat down heavily, laying his arms on the counter. He would have to wait. he looked around him, keeping an eye out for more intoxicated louts, and spotted a woman he had not noticed, who happened to be sitting beside him. She was quite attractive, and also didn't appear to be drunk. Erk though, being Erk, felt no attraction what so ever. He was simply too lazy to admire. He did, however, wonder what she was reading. Since small talk was never much his game, he decided to see if he could make her talk to him first.

Reaching towards his belt for his purse, he pulled out five coins. All were copper, he really didn't want drunks scrambling for his gold. One by one, he set them beneath his finger, then flicked them to set them spinning. Then, waving his index finger, he set them alight. One by one, the coins suddenly shone white, spinning across the counter. The magic should last for about an hour, but hopefully it wouldn't take that long for him to engage the woman.

Shelendri - April 12, 2007 02:25 AM (GMT)
Leading with her shoulder, Shelendri pushed her way through the crowd of drunks. She guessed arriving in the middle of happy hour was her own fault. Well, half her fault. If that Varsus man hadn't led her down a maze of alleyways in hopes of taking her money, she would have found this place much easier. Next time someone started talking about guilding her around the city, she would go with her instincts. They never tried to rob her.
Ducking out of the way of a upthrust tankard, she pushed her way to the bar. Seeing it untended, she huffed out an annoyed breath. She gets there late, and now no survice. And her stomach was beginning to remind her quite pointedly that it was time for some food.
Sitting down, she pushed her cloak hood off her head and looked around again. A few stools down the bar was a man, and beside him a woman who seemed completely caught up in the book in her hands. Both seem sober, which was a bit of a surpise considering the state of all the other patrons. Shelendri decided that since she wasn't going to be getting dinner any time soon, she might as well amuse herself with watching them. It would be better than watching the drunks.
The man had notcied the woman beside him, but instead of opening up a conversation, he pulled out some copper coins. Then, one by one, he set them spinning and then made them glow. Shelendri laughed. She hadn't seen that trick in a while.
When one of the coins span toward her, she picked it up and offered it to the man. "Here. You don't want it getting away from you." COming across another magic user interested Shelendri, but then, most everything interested her here.

Dalena Keres - April 12, 2007 04:34 AM (GMT)
The tavern that night was full of people--too full for Dalena's liking. Patrons in various states of intoxication laughed and talked with each other with gradually increasing volume as the night wore on. A crowd of drunks had taken to walking around the inn, bothering the other patrons with their nonsense.

Dalena sat at the bar, a now empty plate of food in front of her. The half-demon toyed breifly with the idea of stirring up trouble in the inn. With all these human drunks around her, all it would take would be one crude, misplaced insult and all hell would break loose. Pitting these weakling humans against each other would at least be some form of entertainment, and would relieve Dalena of the boredom that had been plaguing her since she had stepped into this inn.

The young half-demon pushed the idea to the back of her mind. It wasn't worth wasting her time and energy on. She was tired, although she would not admit it, and would sleep for now. The next day, perhaps, when her energy had been restored, she might decide to spill some human blood--human blood she so dearly despised and yet cursed human blood that flowed through her own veins.

The half-demon scowled at this thought, crimson eyes falling on the pale hand that lay on the tabletop. The half-demon girl shifted her pale, slender fingers slightly as she looked on her hand in distate. Underneath the skin, flowing through her veins, was mixed blood--her parents gift to her. Her blood red eyes hardened at the thought. She hated them, hated them for the legacy that they had left her. She hated her worthless human father, who left his lover after discovering the secret about her race. More still, she hated the even more worthless demoness that had brought her into the world. It was because of them that she was forever cursed to lead this life.

As it was, Dalena Keres's musings were cut off by the sound of coins skittering across the wooden tabletop. The half-breed looked up, turning towards the noise. Gold was hard to come by, and she wasn't above petty thievery. She frowned, turning her eyes away. The coins were nothing but copper, and manipulated by a magician no less.

The spinning coins scattered across the counter, and Dalena paid them no heed until one of the coins bumped into the hand that had been on the counter. The coin continued to bump against her hand, and the feeling was beginning to annoy her. She picked up the coin with her other hand, flicking it nonchalantly towards the mage, hoping that the coin struck him on the head. She had no use for human magicians and their petty magic tricks.

She surveyed the mage and the people near him with indifferent red eyes. The mage didn't appear to have much of an audience, seeing as the woman beside him was engrossed in a book and only one other person seemed interested in his tricks, a woman on his other side that appeared to be human. Dalena turned her eyes away. These people didn't concern her.

Erk - April 12, 2007 02:09 PM (GMT)
Erk sat, watching the coins with a mild interest himself. His father would be angry with him if he knew. This was one of the reasons he had been kicked out of his home, because he lacked ambition to study as an apprentice. Thus, he became a traveling one of sorts. So far, he had only learned how to make things glow. He was too lazy to actually go look up spells, though the way things were going, he might have to. There was no doubt that he was the best his family had seen for a couple thousand years, so he could pick up spells amazingly quick...when he wanted too.

He watched one as it spun down the counter, and ended up at another woman. She picked it up and handed to glowing piece of metal back.

"Here. You don't want it getting away from you."

"There only coppers. I have enough silver to get me by."

He wasn't going to mention gold in a place like this, with people such as these. Fights were not his thing. Too lazy. After all, it involved a lot of physical strain on the body. Erk instead would like to place his retrieved coin back on the table and spin it once more, and he did so.

As he watched the spinning coins once more, he opened his mouth to talk to the newly arrived lady. Right as another coins hit the side of his head. he didn't flinch, or say anything. He simply closed his mouth and looked in the direction of the coins path. No need to get angry, he had no reason to go like that right now. He didn't like that form anyway. What he saw was a rather irate woman even further down the bar. Apparently she didn't like the light show going on in front of him. Well, he thought he had a way of getting back. Luckily, it involved no more than flipping a coin her way. Digging into his purse again, he pulled out a gold, he kept it tight in his fist for a moment,. checking to see if anyone was watching. It seemed no one was. Casually, he flipped the gold right behind the annoyed woman. As it landed, he whispered to the newly arrived lady.

"You might want to find cover ma'am. Things might get rowdy"

With that, he called out loudly to the other.

"Excuse me ma'am, but I believe you dropped your GOLD!"

The entire bar went silent.

Fraylis Arden - April 12, 2007 07:42 PM (GMT)
She was obviously deep in thoughts and her nose deep in her mothers journal. Thought not too deep rto not notice the shining coins. She blinked some at this trick and glanced at them with a corner of her grey eye. Watching the coins spin and shine it brought a warm smile to her lips and nearly made her giggle. But thought Fray never behaved like that. Her gaze then was casted at Erk who seemed to be interested in her journal. "Hello there.." she said. Her voice was warm and friendly not full of trust. Fray then noticed another girl who gave back a coin to Erk and casted a warm smile at her. "Hello, miss" she said. She pondered if she should continue on reading or not but then decided to put away her journal into her bag and ordered another glass of wine and glanced at Erk." So.....what brings you here, kind sir huh?" she asked him gazing at him waiting for a replay.

Shelendri - April 13, 2007 04:43 AM (GMT)
Shelendri smiled down at the coins, enjoying watching them. Though she was a magic user, she hadn't spent a lot of time learning new spells previously, turning her attention to her shape shifting instead. Now that she had arrived in Arda, she had made the decition to learn new magics and spells. This one looked interesting, so it might be one that she could try learning first.
She was going to ask the mage about it, when a girl further down the bar that she hadn't noticed before threw one of the coins at the mage's head. In responce, the mage took a course of action Shelendri wouldn't have herself. He took a gold coin from his money pouch and dropped it behind her. Then he called the attention of every drunk in the pub to it. The woman the light display had been aimed at looked up from her book then and spoke to the mage.
Shelendri didn't listen in on the start of their conversation. She was too busy watching the drunks warily. They had all fallen silent at the mention of gold and she knew the slightest wrong move would set them off. That wrong move was provided by a short wiry man near the bar. Having decided to take his chances, he rushed forward. There was a general roar from the crowd of drunks and anarky broke loose.
Shelendri turned to the mage and the woman beside him. "I would suggest getting to a safe place." Then she vaulted over the bar and ducked down behind it and a tankard crashed into the stool she had been sitting on.

Dalena Keres - April 13, 2007 09:47 AM (GMT)
((OOC: Lol, Erk your post made me laugh. Thank you.))

Dalena heard the clink of a coin falling onto the floor of the inn behind her. The half-demon barely had time to turn around before a shout rang out, coming from the human mage she had noticed earlier.

"Excuse me ma'am, but I believe you dropped your GOLD!" cried the mage.

Dalena turned around, crimson eyes falling on the round golden coin that lay on the floor behind her. The bar had gone silent, and all of the drunks now had their eyes on her. From experience, she knew that it wouldn't take long before the pub erupted into chaos.

Before the young half-demon even had time to think, one man surged forward, eyes on the gold coin. A crowd of unruly drunks soon followed, heading towards her with excited looks on their faces. The prospect of gold was calling out to them, and in their human greed and stupidity they had rushed forward.

The woman beside the mage had vaulted skillfully over the counter, taking cover from the onslaught of intoxicated men. No doubt the mage had given her a warning before he had decided to try out his trick. The men drew ever closer to the tabletop, eyes wide at the round gold coin before her.

Dalena's lips curled their way into a smirk as the half-breed loosened her sword from its sheath with her right hand. It appeared that her blade would be bloodied tonight after all. In one swift movement, she whipped around and got to her feet, drawing the sharp blade of the longsword against the chest of the wiry man who had been the first to lunge at the coin. The sudden move gave her an extra advantage, and the sword hit its mark. The man fell to the ground, bleeding from a deep cut across his chest. Blood dripped down Dalena's blade, spilling onto the floor as a hush fell onto the crowd of drunks once more.

The half-demon turned towards them, a smirk on her face as she brandished her bloodied sword. There were looks of fear in some of the humans' eyes, cowardly race that they were. She fed off the fear, using it to fuel her own desire to bring death.

"Would anyone else care to challenge a demoness?" she asked, her voice taunting them. She fixed them with her eyes, daring them to move. One of the braver or stupider drunks snorted at her statement, and she fixed his eyes on him.

"Demon?!?" he asked, turning to her, "You're not a demon. You're only a half--"

The rest of his sentence was cut off. Dalena had run forward, closing the distance between them and burying her sword in his gut. Anger and rage were evident on her pale features as she glared at him. The man's words were lost in a series of gurgling noises that emitted from his throat.

With a sickening squelch, Dalena pulled her sword out of the man's belly, watching as the dead man fell to the ground. She glared at his dead body one last time before turning to the crowd of drunks.

"Does anyone else have something to say about my heritage?" she asked, her voice no longer taunting but challenging, as if she dared them to speak. The drunks said nothing and Dalena whipped around, going back to her seat. Before she seated herself, she scooped the gold coin up from the floor. She heard sounds behind her. The cowards had left, either going back to their seats and whispering or leaving the pub altogether. She didn't care what they did. If they decided to fight her, probably in a drunken rage, it would be no loss to her.

The half-demon turned the coin over in her hands, feeling its cool surface. Her eyes darted towards the human mage who had started this whole scene in the first place. So, he wanted to play, did he? If that was the case, than she would happily oblige.

She pocketed the coin, rising to her feet. With practiced grace and agility, she crossed the room, heading towards one table in particular. Seated at the table was what appeared to be a rather large barbarian already in a deep state of intoxication. He didn't seem too impressed by her little show earlier, which was why he wasn't looking at her with the same wide-eyed looks that everyone else was giving her.

"Let me tell you something," she said to the barbarian in a low voice, "That man over there--the mage. You see him? I heard him say that you're fat and ugly, and you look like you couldn't hurt a fly."

Dalena smirked to herself as she got back to her seat, watching as the enraged brute made his way over to where the mage was sitting.

Erk - April 14, 2007 02:55 PM (GMT)
((OOC: My pleasure Dalena))

Erk turned to look at the woman he had originally intended to talk to with his little trick. Looked like she had finally noticed it, though a bit late. Still, since she started to talk, he might as well answer. After all, that was the whole point of the spinning coins.

"Absolute lack of all other options brought e to this lovely bar. Turns out, i may have been mistaken in the choice however."

He nodded his head pointedly at the rather angry woman who he had brought the entire bar's attention to. At that moment, she was cutting through the chest of the first to try and steal his gold coin. Following him, a surge of other drunks was whoop0ing at he prospect of gold, sending the first woman to talk to him leaping over the counter. Erk was planning on following. After all, somewhere behind there was his staff, given to the inn owner to keep safe 'till he was ready to leave. However, before he was able to, he heard an angry grunt.

Turning to face the noise and its maker, he saw an enormous barbarian like man glaring at him in a drunken rage. The woman, who turned out to be a half demon from the shouts, was sitting once more, looking rather pleased with herself. If Erk was to guess what had transpired, he would venture that the demon lady had said some wonderfully chosen words to the brute, enraging him against Erk.

"Damn," he mumbled for the second time that evening.

"So," the brute began as we ambled over to Erk, "fat 'n ugly? Can't hurts flys?"

Erk found himself with his head looking up at squinting eyes about a foot above his. The alcohol on the man's breath was flowing into his nose, making his eyes water. Thought were sprinting around his brain. Perfect, one said. A half demoness. Don't think I could take her head on, probably not in my dragonic form. Not only do are you fat and ugly, said another, but your stench is, well, I'd say the gods themselves are weeping from it. After more thought, he decided that he liked the sound of the second one.

"Yes, you are fat an ugly. Not to mention that you reek of ale. And as for the flies, well, don't think your smart enough to know what a fly is really."

There was a collective gasp from around the bar as he said the words. The man's eyebrows scrunched as he tried to figure out the meaning of Erk's words. Erk could see the fire of rage as it hit him. Without further thought, he turned and lept behind the counter, just as a huge fist smashed into the stool he had been occupying. he didn't want to look back and see what once was the future of his face.

Looking around the bar, he found his staff very quickly. It was laying in the floor, right where the bar tender had been standing when Erk handed it to him. he was not surprised one bit. He reached out and grabbed, mentally scolding himself for getting into a physical situtation....and for only having one spell at his disposal. Well, time to see if he could blind the brute.

Fraylis Arden - April 14, 2007 07:14 PM (GMT)
" Lack of options?" she repeated him and watched Erk with her grey eyes. Finaly she found him rather attracktive but couldn't show it just yet. She never was into rush to show feelings before making sure if it's worthy showing. And besides never trusted anyone too much. She looked around at all the commotion calmnly and finishing her glass of wine ordred one more and still kept sitting at the bar easyly avoiding of whatever was going to hit her - a glass, a random thing or drunks fist or feet.....Fray was always able to avoid easyly. She was mistress of tumbling in whatever it was - a fight or perform, or defence....

As her drink finally arrived, Fray easyly voided of a fist of drunk man who later fell dow at her feet and calmnly took a sip of her wine. Fray threw a glance at those behind a bar and shook her head slithly then around again threw one or two golden coins through the door of the tavern and the drunks fallowed the coins with a rush. " This bar is quit lovely indeed...so cosy and peaceful" she said with a hint of sarcasm. "Who know how much a room here does costs, huh? Cause i need a place to stay at for a night or two....."

Shelendri - April 15, 2007 04:51 AM (GMT)
Shelendri had heard the second woman, a half-demon as it turned out, deal with the drunks, without looking over the bar to check things out. This wasn't a situation she wanted to deal with. Things quieted down a bit, then the mage jumped down beside her and started looking for something. She frowned at him. "Fine mess this has turned into. Next time, don't use gold for revenge." The brute who seemed intent on causing the mage harm started reaching over the bar, his gorilla-like arms dangling. Shelendri decided that unless the mage had some powerful spells at his dispossel, he'd get his face smashed for sure. Looked like she was going to have to lend him a hand.
She looked up at the brute, who in his drunken haze was trying to get hold of the mage. She couldn't go up that way. It time use the one spell she'd mastered so far. Phasing through the bar itself, she kicked the brute's ankle. He yelped and turned his attention to her. She smiled brightly at him and phased back through the bar. Then she looked over at the Mage. "Your turn."

Dalena Keres - April 16, 2007 12:57 PM (GMT)
Dalena watched as the barbarian reached the mage’s table. She watched the scene in front of her unfold with indifferent red eyes. Whichever way this played out, the inn was soon going to become a battlefield. Damage was going to be caused, and a few people were going to be injured. If she was lucky, some people wouldn’t be fortunate enough to escape with only injuries.

The half-demon’s hand rested against the hilt of her long sword. Blood dripped steadily down the blade, pooling on the floor beneath the tip of her sword. Her eyes landed on a group of men who were carrying the two dead bodies from earlier out of the inn. Death had been dealt tonight, and the way things were going, perhaps those two humans wouldn’t be the last to meet their end at the edge of her blade.

Her eyes drifted away from her bloodied blade and the destruction she had wrought, turning back towards the mage. She listened as the mage began to speak.

"Yes, you are fat an ugly. Not to mention that you reek of ale. And as for the flies, well, don't think your smart enough to know what a fly is really."

A smirk formed on her lips at the mage’s comment. She had to admit that the mage’s words were clever…and true. The barbarian was a pathetic excuse for a human, too dumb to think beyond his next meal, if even that, which was why he was perfect for what Dalena had planned. Any other human with even an ounce of intelligence would have either recognized her scheme or not taken the bait. The barbarian, however, was delightfully stupid, evidenced by the confused look on his face as he tried to make sense of the mage’s words.

The mage took advantage of the barbarian’s stupidity, vaulting over the counter and reaching for what appeared to be a staff. The mage didn’t appear to be stupid, which was good, otherwise this would turn out to be painfully boring.

The current situation was also beginning to prod the other intoxicated fools into action. As Dalena watched, several of the drunks walked forward, looking for a fight. Dalena frowned slightly as she watched them. Were they looking to die early? She watched as the woman she had noticed before took a sip of wine, calmly avoiding a drunken punch. She finished the wine, calmly avoiding everything that was being thrown at her. Dalena had to admit to being impressed. This woman didn’t seem to be the type to allow anything to faze her. As she watched, the woman drew two gold coins, tossing them at the entrance to the inn. The crowd of drunks parted, scrambling like mad animals towards the coins.

”Pitiful, muttered Dalena, a smirk forming on her face as she watched the other girl phase through the counter, attacking the barbarian before phasing back to safety. So, this one knew a bit of magic? She watched as the bar descended into chaos, wondering what was going to happen next.

Erk - April 19, 2007 01:41 AM (GMT)
Erk sat as he stared at his staff, thinking of a plan. he thought of a pretty good one, and considering that the man was drunk, he could probably pull it off. the only problem was if the man didn't do what Erk wanted to. if that happened, Erk would be running for the door. He hated running. He really hoped what he wanted to do would work. As he prepared himself to confront the man again, he happened to look at the other woman behind the bar with him. Just in time too. he watched watched with mild interest as she phazed strait through the wooden counter. From the sound on the other side, he would have guessed that she had kicked or hit "The Brute".

As she came back through, she looked at him.

"Your turn," was all he got, along with a frown.

Erk returned her look with a rather bored one of his own. Behind him, he heard the first woman speak about how wonderful the bar was. He caught the sarcasm easily.

"I don't know how much a room costs here. Doubt I'll get to find out considering what I've done."

With this, he ran his hand of his staff, setting it alight. Taking a deep breath, he rose dramaticly from behind the counter, eyes downcast and face in a mask of rage. His eyes soon looked up and locked on to those of The Brute.

"I don't like being attacked."

As he said this, he tapped a glass on the bar with his staff, setting it alight too. The Brutes eyes looked at it for a moment, then back to him. Erk was mildly happy to see a bit of wariness in his eyes.

"I also don't like having ale breathed into my nostrils. Unfortunately for you, you have done both. And, Unfortunately for you, I now have my staff."

The Brute's eyes were wide now, confused and slightly frightened by this new person.Erk thanked whatever power that may be that was heloping him.

"I believe you should leave, before I show you all that I can do."

The last was delivered in an utterly serious vioce, very uncommon for Erk, but perfect for scaring the hell out of confused drunks. Wide eyed, the Brute ran out of the bar. Erk watched him go, keeping his current stature until he was sure the man had left. When he was sure he was safe, he dropped his act, letting his face relax. Looking over to the half demon, he spoke up so that she could here him.

"That wasn't exactly necisary you know. You could have chosen someone a tad bit smaller. Though I do thank you for making sure he was soked in ale."

Pointing to the coin still lieing behind her, he spoke again.

"Do you want that, or are you willing to let me have it back. I'd ather not go through the trouble of earning more. Too much work."

Fraylis Arden - April 20, 2007 04:19 PM (GMT)
Fraylis blinked some and watched all this commotion with a slight amusement. She was actualy surprised as no one could guess her being half demon too. Oh well. That's only better to her. A sly smirk came to her lips seeing the drunk scurrying out off the tavern and applouded some to Erk. " Well done, pretty stranger." she complimented him. Fraylist admired his ability to bluff and he actualy cought her slight interest. But first she decided to order room for herself for a night. " How much costs a room for a night, sir?" she asked barkeep. " 57 gold, miss. Would you like to order?" he asked and Fray nodded pulling out her money." yes please...give me a room for a night" she said handing 57 gold coins to the barkeep and he soon gave her a key from a room" Secound floor, miss" Fraylis noded with a smile taking a key and glaced at Erk. " So....what ya'll do now when the drunk is gone, huh?" she asked him also watching other two girls with a corner of her eye.

Shelendri - April 22, 2007 06:36 AM (GMT)
Glad that the drunk had left, Shelendri stood and hopped back over the bar. She motioned to the bartender. "I'll also take a room.." Handing over the amount of gold, she excepted the key he offered. Her room, like the other woman's, was on the second floor. Pocketing the key, she seated herself back on the stool she had occupied before the fight had broken out and ordered herself a glass of wine and some food. While she waited, she looked over at the other woman. "For myself, I'm going to have something to eat, and hope that no other drunken idiots decide to flex their muscles. That sort of thing is always unsettling."

Dalena Keres - April 24, 2007 12:01 PM (GMT)
The mage appeared to have a few tricks up his sleeve. He cast a spell on his staff, making the weapon light up. It was a harmless enough spell, as far as the half-demon could tell, used by weaklings who could not find their way in the dark. It didn't surprise her that the mage knew how to cast it.

The barbarian seemed to be rather frightened by such a display of magic. That didn't surprise her much, although she did feel a sense of irritation. Barbarians were not famous for their intelligence, although they were well-known for their dislike of magic. Dalena had hoped that the show of magic would provoke the brute into action but it seemed that luck was not with the half-demon today. In his drunken state, the mage's display of magic seemed much more frightening to the dimwitted brute, judging from the way the barbarian recoiled. The mage began giving a little speech, ending with a threat. The threat may have been a bluff, but Dalena could not be sure. She was not one to easily jump to conclusions.

She watched as the barbarian ran out of the door of the inn, looking rather like a defeated dog running with its tail between its legs. Her crimson eyes followed the barbarian's path with an indiffrent expression, masking her inner irritation. The emotionless mask cracked slightly as she frowned in disgust. Cowards, all of them. The entire human race appeared to be filled with cowards. She had yet to meet a human who wouldn't do anything to save his or her own skin.

She turned to the mage as he spoke to her. He seemed to be scolding her about her little idea, and Dalena couldn't help the surge of anger that flooded through her body. Who was this mage to be telling her what to do, or to be speaking to her in such an arrogant tone in the first place. Her eyes hardened into a glare as she listened to him ask about the coin.

Her eyes drifted to the coin behind her and she picked it up, turning it over in her hands. The shiny surface of the gold coin was stained with blood, but that didn't make it any less valuable. It would be a waste to let this opportunity fade away.

"I don't think you need it, seeing as you seem to have enough money to throw gold coins onto tavern floors," she said, "In fact, I think this will do nicely in paying for my room tonight."

With that, she flicked the coin towards the innkeeper, who caught it in his palm. The innkeeper paled seeing the blood-stained gold coin, and the one who threw it at him. Dalena turned her head towards him.

"There isn't a problem with me staying here, is there?" she asked, fingering the hilt of her sword. The innkeeper shook his head.

"N--no, miss," he said, "I'm sure we have a free room somewhere."

"Good," said Dalena, turning back to the mage, "Anything else you would like to say?"

Erk - April 26, 2007 01:40 AM (GMT)
Erk sighed at the demon Ladie's reply. He wasn't sure how he'd come about that coin, he knew that it would cost him to get more. In labor, that is. Well, he did say it was hers to begin with, so in a way, he had given it to her. It still didn't make him feel much better at loosing it. He watched sullenly as the lady tossed the bloodied coin to the inn keeper and demanded her room. It was not surprising that she received one, nor for that low of a price. With his luck and with what had happened, the night here would cost. him. Luckily, he could shove most of it to his family. Sure they would be mad, but hey, they kicked him out.

Erk was begining to reach for his purse to ask for a room when the demon lady spoke to him. Grimacing at her remark, he faced her again.

"Oh, I have plenty of things to say. Unfortunately, all of them would likely end up with you putting that great bloddy sword of yours through me. Seeing as I barely escaped from the last bit of pain you wanted to put me through, I don't feel like doing it again. Plus, you look as if you want me to say something smart so you can do what I just said you might. I think I'll keep my mouth shut for now."

Erk knew what he just said utterly went against...what he just said. He also knew that he was a total smart aleck, and a sword in his face would probably never change that, so what the heck. Turning back to the inn keeper, he dug into his purse and started counting golds. luckily they weren't crowns, something he had very few of. Unfortunately, he had barely enough to cover the original charge. Sighing, he dumped the coins back into the purse and tossed the whole thing to the tender.

"Will that cover me for the night? Meal, room, fight and all?"

The keeper stared at the bag for a moment, then at Erk's new found "friend", miss Don't-call-me-only-half-demon-or-I-rip-through-your-gut Lady, hesitating. Erk could only geuss what was going through his mind. Should he rent a room to Erk, who wasn't on good terms with Don't-call-me-only-half-demon-or-I-rip-through-your-gut Lady or not.

Luruk Blackarrow - April 26, 2007 02:25 AM (GMT)
(Kick me out if you dont want me to join, but this one looks fun. Sorry if I cause anyone trouble.)

Luruk had had a long day. He had just fought a half-troll. Those were nastey opponents. They'er about three foot bigger than the average human, but they got the strength of a troll. It had a bounty on its head, a nice one. He wanted to go to the bar to relax and spend a bit of his hard-earned cash. He had been a few streets down when he heard a ruckus. [This might be a fun trip to the bar...I might be able to pick up some dropped pocket books, as well as punch a drunk or two.] He smiled at the thought of getting into a fist fight. Those were the best, especially if his opponent was strong.

As he got closer, he saw a really big guy run out. The man seemed terrified, but he was drunk, so his emotions were probably irratic. The man almost ran into Luruk, but the Uruk-Hai caught ahold of him. The man jumped a little, he hadnt seen Luruk because his vision was blury. The Uruk growed. "Whats going on in there?"

The man was really shaken, but he was also drunk, so his words were slured. 'Aaa...man and shlum weomean was in the..re...Thwe mannn witherd'

"Drunk..." said Luruk. He tossed the man to the ground, and surprisingly the man was knocked out. Luruk shakes his head. "A big guy like you cant hold his liquor...humans are so frail." He tryed to remember what the drunk said [A man and some women...and the man was a wizard. Damn...] He kept walking [...seems I might not get into a fist fight. Thats why I hate magic...takes all the fun out of fighting.]

Luruk steps into the bar. Immediatly he smelled blood. He looked down and saw some men who were attacked. He bent over and looked at the wounds. "Probably fatal" He whispered in orcish. He wanted to scare anyone by talking this way. He didnt want to fight all of a sudden.

He stood up and looked around the place. At first he saw no one, then he saw a woman with a bloodied up sword. He walks up to her "Did you do this...*Sniffs* Half-deamon" He said this in orcish by mistake. He somtimes slipped in and out of common.

Fraylis Arden - April 28, 2007 07:09 PM (GMT)
Fraylis finished her glass of wine and paying for it stood up taking her bag and the journal of her mother." Well...i'm going to get some rest.....was nice to meet you all, fellas" she said with a slight smirk whitch meant she hoping to meet them all once more again. Maybe some where at random place ...random time....who knows that unpredictable destiny. " Good night everyone" she said with a smile and walked up stairs to her room feeling very slightly drunk and VERY tired..... She unlocks the room door and opening them steps in looking around." Seems nice..." she muttered some closing the door. She walks up then to the window and opens it sitting upon edge of the window and stares at stary night sky.

(ooc: sorry for short post.today i'm tired. and feel free to come into mah room)

Shelendri - April 29, 2007 05:10 AM (GMT)
Shelendri watched the door as she waited for her food and wine to arrive. She noted the Uruk-Hai's entrance with interest, as she hadn't seen one before, and she found him going over to the half-demon who had been one of the causes of the trouble before with equal interest. It could just be that he somehow knew that the half-demon had been causing trouble, or there could be some other reason behind his move.
Shrugging to herself, she turned back to the bar when her food and wine were placed in front of her. Taking a sip of the wine, she looked over at the mage. "You should be more careful with whom you pick fights with. That half-demon doesn't look like she'd have any qualms about running you through with that blade of hers." She picked up her fork and tucked into her food. The fight hadn't spoiled her appitied, and she wanted to pack some food away incase another fight broke out and she had to abandon her dinner. Going to be hungry wasn't something she would enjoy. She'd had an experience of it before, right after she'd left her family home, and she always did whatever she could to avoid doing it again.
