Description: open for all

Vernis - April 4, 2007 07:46 AM (GMT)
Vernis sat alone at a corner table keeping his back to the wall. he held a pint of ale in his hands as his eyes studied the filthy tavern carefully. He drank deep from his mug the room disappearing behind it just for a moment before lowering it again and resting the glass on the table.
A few people knew him, he had hoped that alone would draw the attention of any men or women who needed something done to him with out having to make a scene.
He looked about the room again, his chin resting on his fist, his free hand idly playing with his mug tilting it left and right, careful to not let his hands move to far from his hidden dagger under his maroon vest. It had been some time sense his last job and he found himself in need of food. Drital was a slum hole full of the city's cut throats thieves and gangs. A good place for work.
A deck of cards lay in front of him, of nothing else he could out cheat some wretch out of his money, that was, for the most part, safer than killing people and on the off chance that a guardsmen was watching he could make it look like self defense.
The tavern had been its self, a few fights, heavy drinking, liars, and killers all day, and yet so far no one needing anything done. He let out a sigh of boredom leaning back crossing his arms over his chest balancing on the back two legs of his chair.

Musa Saphire - April 4, 2007 04:35 PM (GMT)
Musa walked into the tavern slowly looking to find an empty table, their were several. She took one in the middle of all the others and sat down, her black boots clicked on the wood floor as she walked. She sat down, tossed her dark brown hair and ordered a martini. A rather large man came over and put the drink on her table, he simled and left.
Musa's hands rose, little sparks began to come from her fingers, she loved playing with magic, it made her eyes sparkle. She played with them in her hands and fingers until finally she got board and stopped.
Musa looked arround and took in her surroundings. The tavern was musty and dark, only herself the bartender, and a man in the corner were in the tavern. All of which seemed preocupied exept for the man in the corner who seemed nearly board out of his mind. She turned to him, smiled and turned back taking another sip of her drink.

Vernis sat up when a woman walked in. He watched her as she looked around for a seat, something about her told him that this might have been her first time in Drital Qu'ellar. Running his fingers through his hair he studied the woman for a moment as she sat down.
He smothered a fearful twitch when he saw her practice her magic. Wondering if she just wondered in or if she had some other reason. He took a swing of his ale, 'drink your courage, you will need it when you deal with mages,' his father always said. He set the empty mug down hard on the table in time to return her smile. Maybe more ale would do me some good. he considered but instead he pulled himself up to his feet and strolled over to her table taking the seat across from hers.
"'fraid I don't recognize your face," he said keeping his tone friendly. "Are you new or am I just not vary observant?" He smiled his hand stroking his thin beard as he leaned slightly to the left so his vest opens up just enough to expose his knife, to see how she would react.

Musa Saphire - April 5, 2007 04:42 PM (GMT)
Musa looked suspicously at the man that sat down his tone was friendly but another emotion was hiddin inside his eyes, his vest fell and a knife was exposed. She froze but still managed to look up at him and get some words out of her mouth. "I dont think your very observent. Several people in the realm have atleast seen me walk by in the market or have heard my name." She said strongly, probably more strongly than necissary. Knifes or anything for that matter made her nervous, knifes meant pain andtdhat is something that her human nature tended to avoid. But she could fight for herself and once been called 'feisty'.

Vernis - April 5, 2007 09:38 PM (GMT)
Vernis raised an eye brow, maybe my contacts are less reliable than i thought... he kept his smile and the cheer in his voice. "Oh, well I guess I should ask then, my name is Vernis by the way," he held out his hand, thinking his real name might be safe with this one or at least half of it. "may i ask yours?" He took note of her reaction to his weapon, this one might not have the stomach to do business, but she does hide it...

Musa Saphire - April 5, 2007 11:06 PM (GMT)
Musa kept her eyes indiffernet and unemotional. She shook his hand when he held it out. "Very nice to meet you. My name is Musa." She tossed her dark brown hair. Her green eyes sparkled in the dull light of the bar. She put her boots up on empty chair next to her. She turned her face to him and smiled lightly. "I may have seen you wandering arround someplaces, but I have never had the pleasure of actually talking to you face to face." She said honestly. An electric, magical charge ran though her fingers wanting to come out in the form of magic but she controlled it.

Vernis - April 7, 2007 05:59 AM (GMT)
Vernis tilted his head slightly, "Oh? you have? I guess I should say sorry for never have seen you before, I am a busy man after all..." He leaned back keeping the palm of his hands on the table.
"I could not help but notice, but you're a magic user right? or do you prefer mage?" He waived the bartender over for another mug. "Right now though, I'll have to admit," he paused to find the right words, "That I might have seen you around, might have just slipped my mind, who knows."
"So if you don't mind me asking... what is it that you do for a living? I my self am a bit of... a merchant."

Musa Saphire - April 7, 2007 07:16 PM (GMT)
Musa lifted an eye brow when he paused before saying that his profession was a merchant. Many people said that but didnt really mean it. She put her eye brow back and looked at him carefully. "I dont care what you call me. As long as its not insulting." She said honestly, she didnt care if she was called magic user or mage, same thing. "What do I do for a living? Well I'm sure that is none of your business, after all I could be a merchant too." She said asking the bartender for a drink and taking a sip. She watched him closely she was always watching to make sure no one tried anything stupid.

Vernis - April 10, 2007 07:06 AM (GMT)
He leaned forward his elbows resting on the table, he desided to take a chance; "Oh I think you misunderstood," he gave a friendly nod to the bartender as he filled her glass. "When I say merchent, I was being vugue. Every man or woman is a merchent in someway always wanting to do business. Some sell wares for gold, some sell people for greed, others themselves for freedom, some give steel and get richs, some sell their lives for kings. I myself sell many things; red for gold, lies for power. So tell me, what kind of merchant are you? course not all people have business in their hearts, if you are one of those folk say the word and Ill be gone." He leaned back again his eyes lingering on hers hunting for a response.

Musa Saphire - April 11, 2007 05:25 AM (GMT)
Musa let her eyes be emotionless, no feeling, just amazing green color. She didnt quite know how to awnser because she didnt quite know the awnser herself. She would entertain people in market squares with her magic, and that would earn her a few gold coins. She would travel from place to place.
For some reason she felt quite angry at him so she simply aimed her hand just past his face and streached her hand back, a light blue ice arrow shot out from her wrist and nearly grazed the side of his face.
She folded her arms and put her feet up on the table.

Vernis - April 11, 2007 06:53 AM (GMT)
Vernis did not even have time to gasp when the coldness of the arrow passed by his face. His hand found his throwing knife but he kept himself from throwing it. His heart raced in his chest he could feel his fingers trembling and he forced them still as he laid the knife on the table in front of him. It was awhile before he calmed his nerves. "I-" he cleared his throat, "some would say I would be within my rights to kill you. Self defiance, a mage uses her spell to slay some merchant, she misses and he ends her before she could summon up another more lethal spell." He sighed, "but I see that you have no interest in... speaking, and for that Ill leave you alone." He pushed his chair back grabbing his knife and slipping it back under his vest. "Though I would never think ill of you to change your mind," he added.

Musa Saphire - April 12, 2007 05:06 AM (GMT)
"Yes, some could say that, but who would they belive? A man who just said that a mage meant to kill him with an ice arrow, or a woman who says it was, in turn selfe defense?" She loved mind games, it was somthing that she was not bad at. "And you didnt say exactly what it was you wanted from me? What could you buy from a mage? What magical obejcts could you take? you probably couldnt use them if you did have them, so what is it that you want?" She asked standing up and putting her hands on her hips waitng for his awnser. If he attacked her musa could take care of herself, she trusted her magic..

Vernis - April 12, 2007 07:44 AM (GMT)
"What makes my plan come truly alive is that you would not be there to speak." His lips curled into a smile. This one seems to like blood, though she might not admit it. "I want the most powerful item in the world, gold, and i want lots of it," he said. "So I guess you can say I would be selling blood, ill gotten goods, lies..." he let that linger for a moment. "For the right price." He cupped his fingers together waiting for her to speak. This was a familiar game to him, a game of words and minds one he considered himself vary good at.

Musa Saphire - April 13, 2007 05:11 AM (GMT)
This man reminded Musa of a lusting vampire, the smile that so smugly curled across his lips, and his passion for what he called blood, but what he really wanted was gold, obviously a material boy. She thought and it made her mad that she could relate. She angrily sat down and crossed her legs and arms. "You can get lies, you can get blood, you can get gold all on your own. But the real question is that do you want my money, or do you want my help getting gold, or do you want this.." She held up her hand and made a bright pink orb of pure magic, it was brillilant and mezmerizing. He loves blood, she thought looking at his eyes, my lust for blood is somthing that I'm ashamed of and try to keep undercontrol, not something I flaunt and take pride, in and I dont like his smug smile its as if he knows my lust for blood, but I will never give that away. Musa kept from shooting another dagger or striking him down with lighting. "And I dont want secrets of anyone I know, it is thier own buisness, not mine, so I will ask again, what is it you want from me?"

Vernis - April 17, 2007 12:49 AM (GMT)
He looked at orb for a moment, though magic disturbed him he had to admit that it was indeed an impressive site. He thought about what she said and let it linger ins his mind before responding; "I get money by spilling blood and telling lies. Now you talk about helping me, I am interested. Course if we do work together we would need a job, or a target..." he let that last part stay air as he tucked his knife back under his vest.

Musa Saphire - April 17, 2007 04:08 AM (GMT)
"You keep on beating arrround the bush, I never really offered you my magical help, I just asked if that is what you wanted. So? What do you want? Because otherwise you probably wouldnt be talking to me right now." She said crossing her legs and arms impatentently waiting for his awnser, he had never really awnsered her question. "I do not like spilling blood for lies, only if it is for a good cause and necisary." She added.
