Title: The Fallen Warlord
Description: Enigmus's debut (open to all)
Enigmus - April 1, 2007 06:11 PM (GMT)
The sun was shining brightly, in the afternoon sky. Lomedor Square seemed to very crowded, though it was a nice day after all. Yells, all of a sudden, could be heard over by a fruit & vejetableb shop. A short, scrawny, middle aged shop-owner was being yelled ay by an angry customer, wich just so happened to be Enigmus. Enigmus had payed for tainted vejetables, unaware that they were. For about 10 minutes he demanded his refund. Usually Enigmus would handle things with a cruel, violent manner, but he restrained himself.
After so much yelling, Enigmus's pale face, was quite red. He suddenly noticed the man stopped yelling, and that he had bent over, reaching for something. The shop-owner quickly revealed a long knife. A few nearby people watched closely, and silently. Enigmus, slowly and calmly reached in his coat, grasping a sword hilt. Fast and swiftly, Enigmus struck the man's knife, knocking it out of his hand. Enigmus closed his eyes, and with his opposite arm, he grabbed the man's arm, at the elbow, and twisted it with immediate pressure. Some crackles could be heard in the man's arm and elbow.
The shop-owner dropped to his knees, tightning his eyes, yelling with pain. Enigmus spoke in low tone, " Why would you be so foolish... Especially on the wrong day. I could kill you now, but I'll let this be your punishment. " Enigmus loosened his grip on the man's arm, letting it go. He put his sword away slowly, sighing afterwards. People watched the man hold his arm, in deep pain.
Enigmus moved his hair out of his face, behind his ear. The sun, now hid behind a cloud, and the breeze picked up slightly. Enigmus started remembering his times as a warlord of an army. He remembered how his army was wiped out, and how he was left with nothing. After reminiscing for a while, Enigmus stood on the outskirts of Lomedor Square, figuring out his next move.
Azlateen - April 2, 2007 04:32 PM (GMT)
Az was on the trail, heading to Lomedor to grab a few supplies which he needed for his next travels. He saw some people lounging around, eating, drinking, talking, having a good personal time really. Right now though, Az was just glad that none of them were bothering him.
He thought too soon. He walked past a few suspicious looking people, they looking like bandits maybe. Some of them snickered and nodded towards Az. They all broke off and headed towards Az. Az saw them coming, but kept walking. He knew they were out for trouble, and he was about to give it to them if it came to that. They came to him and surrounded him. Az halted and stood his ground.
"Hey, how much money you got?" One of them asked rudely. Az shot a glance at him with his demonic pure black eyes. It didn't phase the guy at all. One of them walked up to Az and snatched Az's dagger out of its sheath. He looked at it with a blood thirsty glare, and said, "Wow, this is a nice dagger. It'd be a shame if it got stolen."
Az looked at that guy and said, "You don't want to do that." Suddenly the guy charged at him without notice, the dagger raised high and ready to strike. Az simply stuck out his foot in a side kick manner, and the guy ran straight into it, falling back from the impact. The dagger fell and stuck into the ground, and Az went and picked it back up.
As if on cue, all of the other bandits charged at Az. Az sheathed his dagger, and went after the closest bandit. The bandit threw a punch, Az caught it and threw his own to the guys gut. He punched hard, and sent the guy flying a few feet back. Another one came up behind Az, but was soon thrown back by a back kick from Az. Az ran after that one, leaped into the air and came down with a knee strike to the man's face, driving his head into the ground.
Three more, or should it be said, the three left, then came after Az at once in a row. Az jumped up from his kneeling position, and threw a huge sweeping round house kick, knocking all of them in the face and knocking them to the ground. One of them got up quickly, a little dazed, and put back up his guard. Az snap kicked him in his jaw, and heard teeth shatter, and his head snapped back. Az took a step forward and crushed the man's ribs with a heavy punch and downing him to the ground. The others groaned, looked at Az, and passed out.
Az shook his head, brushed off some dust, re-adjusted his dagger, and began walking the rest of the way to Lomedor. He didn't know who was watching or who was making bets, but he hoped a lot of them were against him, so that someone hit the jackpot big time...
Shelendri - April 3, 2007 04:49 AM (GMT)
Considering the items before her, Shelendri mentally calculated how much she could easily spend. It turned out a bigger number than she'd expected, considering she hadn't found a stable to work at yet. But it was only a matter of time. And her father had left her quite a bit of money. She'd be all right for a while yet, if she was careful.
She was about to make her desition, when she heard somewhat of a comoition behind her. In fact, it sounded a lot like a fight. Turning around, she witnessed something surprising. One man, single-handedly taking on what looked like six men, without help of a weapon. Now, that was impressive. The attackers look like bandits, which made the act even more impressive. The single man finished the bandits off, leaaving them all either groaning or unconcious on the ground, and walked away.
Her possible purchase forgotten, Shelendri followed. This man had piqued her curiosity. She hadn't decided if she would just follow him or indroduce herself, yet. If he notcied her following him and confronted her, she'd introduce herself. If not, she'd keep following him.
Azlateen - April 3, 2007 09:01 PM (GMT)
Az caught a glimpse of someone watching him as he walked by, and took a glance at the girl. He didn't know that she was a little curious about him, so he kept walking on, and figured she was just watching the fight. He kept walking by until he came within a few yards of the gate, and stopped for a moment, looking at the gates. He half expected more goons to come out and try to take his dagger, and he also half expected someone to be asking him about his fight. Something couldn't have been right. Somehow he felt like he was being followed...
Az turned around to see who was behind him, and saw that the girl was following him. He raised an eyebrow a bit, wondering why she didn't just come and introduce herself rather than follow him the whole way here. He looked at her. "Can I help you? You got bandits on your tail too? Do I need to do clean up duty?" He asked, looking past her to see if she was being followed by perhaps a few of those goons left awake. He looked back to her and waited for a response. If not, he wondered why she was following him. Surely there wasn't anything of interest for her with Az...
Shelendri - April 4, 2007 04:32 AM (GMT)
When the man she was following turned around and started talking to her, Shelendri went closer. He was a number of inches taller than her, so she had to lift her chin up a bit to meet his gaze. She smiled up at him. "No, no bandits, at least none that are following me. There are bound to be others here, but they are probably preying on weaklings. As for why I was following you. Well, I saw you fighting those bandits. It was amazing to see one person take on all of those men single-handedly, without a weapon. I was curious about you, but I wasn't sure if I should just walk up and introduce myself, so I followed you." Her smile turned slightly sheepish. "I hope you don't mind that I followed you. I'm a curious person by nature and I can't help investigating things. How did you learn to fight like that?" Her curiousity showed clearly in her eyes, as did her eagerness to find out.
Enigmus - April 4, 2007 04:50 AM (GMT)
Enigmus watched the skillful fighter simply take out the goons. He was quite impressed at how he handled things. He then noticed a young lady following him, a curious one it seemed. The man stopped her a conjured up a conversation
While those pair talked, Enigmus looked behind them and noticed the goons catching thier balance, and getting up again. They made thier way slowly towards the two.
" Everyday I choose to fight. What's wrong with me these days... "
Enigmus grasped his sword hilt and pranced behind the foolish goons, almost silently. They turned around with slight shock in thier eyes, then a scowl. Enigmus glared them in thier eyes. He watched the sweat of fear drip down thier face.
" looks like that guy didn't beat enough sense into... I guess I'll have to "
The goons got made replying in the wrong tone, " What's that! " Enigmus withdrew his longsword and tapped the ground. The goons looked down, and he flipped over them, slicing thier backs four times. When he landed he hit thier backs with his sword hilt, and thier bodies plopped to the ground. Enigmus watched them fall foolishly.
Shelendri - April 4, 2007 05:08 AM (GMT)
Before she got answers to her questions, Shelendri heard comoition behind her. Looking over her shoulder, she saw that it was the same bandits that had attacked the man she was talking to. The comotion she had heard had been when they had all hit the ground at the same time after coming off second best against the sword-weilding man now standing over them. It looked like he'd taken all of them out at once, which was nearly as impressive as what her conversation partner had done. She turned to the man she was talking to. "Did you see that? That's the second time in the last hour I've seen someone display amazing fighting skills. I've never come across anything like the people of this land before. This place really is amazing." She turned back and snickered slightly. "Today just isn't those bandits' day, is it? Maybe it'll teach that attacking people isn't the best way to get money."
Azlateen - April 11, 2007 12:49 AM (GMT)
Az was about to answer her question when he had seen the bandits get up and make their way slowly towards them. He tensed just a little, knowing it wasn't going to hard to take them down again after a beating like that, but relaxed when he saw someone else step in to take his place. He watched as the new guy toyed with them, then slicing their backs viciously and hastily. He chuckled a little as he couldn't have done it better himself, and it was fun to watch someone else demonstrate their own fighting ability.
He nodded to the girl. "Crazy, isn't it? I don't know where he learned to be fast like that, but I learned from at least 6 different academies that I mastered within the course of 3 years. And I still went after more after those." He said proudly, appreciating his ability to keep on going with what he liked to do. "But yeah, I don't think bandits get far with people like us. They never have with me at least." He said with an enthusiastic smile at one corner of his mouth.
Enigmus - April 11, 2007 10:29 PM (GMT)
Low moans of pain showed how Enigmus struck them. Using every little bit of strength they had left, they tried escaping, rising to thier feet in the opposite direction. Enigmus kept his eye on them while they handled thier buisness, desperatley. He turned back towards the girl and guy, walking towards them.
The light breeze forced his hair to hide half of his face, and his attire showed he was no ordinary person. It showed his class, adding on to what his fighting skills showed. Unsure of the strangers' attittudes towards him, Enigmus dragged his sword on the ground, bringing all his senses to alertness. He walked strong, but timidly, showing he was taking no risk.
With his pace starting to descend, Enigmus approached the man, at a distance of about 7 feet.
" May I ask where you are from, and your name. You're quite the skilled fighter? "
Shelendri - April 13, 2007 05:56 AM (GMT)
Shelendri returned his smile. "I'll just bet. It would be an unfortuneate bandit who tried to rob you, as those men show." She shrugged slightly. "I doubt I would be any easier a target. Only a very foolish bandit targets a shape shifter, and only one without any brains targets one that's a druid to boot. My name's Shelendri, by the way." She turned back to watch as the bandits crawled and limped away. The swordsman turned his gaze to Shelendri and the man beside her and started toward them.
The swordsman's gaze was on the man beside her and he spoke to him, seeming to ignore Shelendri. She found that annoying. Just because she hadn't done any fighting, she was ignored. She huffed out a soft breath. Well, she guessed she could wait, but she refused to stay ignored.
Azlateen - April 14, 2007 04:01 AM (GMT)
He nodded to Shelendri, and gave her a funny look before addressing Enigmus. "You're a shapeshifter?" He asked her with a curiously raised eyebrow, and his pure black eyes reflected a curious stare. His attention was then brought to the swordsman, Enigmus, that walked up and made quick talk with Az. He also found it a little odd how he just forgot his classy gentlemen manners of addressing the woman first. Odd how Az knew this being as low a class as he is, and being a fighter at that. "I'm Azlateen, Az for short." He introduced, looking to both Shelendri and Enigmus, bowing slightly. "I couldn't tell you where I'm from, as its a somewhat small town on the outskirts of the Grasslands. Its been so long I've forgotten the name." He said, standing up straight and motioning with his hand by his head info exiting his head. "And yes, I might be a good fighter. I saw your skills demonstrated not long ago. Very nice, I might say." He nodded with a complimentary smile, hoping that he wouldn't be challenged to a duel with him. He didn't quite feel like fighting at the moment...
Shelendri - April 17, 2007 05:04 AM (GMT)
Shelendri nodded to Az. "Yes, I'm a shape shifter." She was quiet as Az spoke to the swordsman. At least Az, though his clothes showed him to be of lower class than the swordsman, had manners. Had the swordsman shown some manners and included her in the conversation, she would have complemented him on his sword skills. As it was, she simple gave him a cold look. While she wasn't a high born lady, and her clothes might not be fancy, she felt it only right to expect some common curtisy. If she had been the one to show great fighting skills, would he then find her worthy of his time? Or perhaps he was just one of those men who thought women beneath them. Those men always got Shelendri's temper boiling. This man, however, could just be lacking in manners, so she was going to give him the benifeat of the doubt. And besides, he was an amazing swordsman and loosing her temper at him could very well land her at the pointy end of his sword. So she settled for adding a frown to the cold look.
