Title: Ker-Splish.

Silnímarë Kikkamm - March 30, 2007 04:52 AM (GMT)
It was a bright and beautiful morning along the eastern coast of Arda: the sun was shining, the waters were calm, and all seemed right with the world. Silnímarë Kikkamm walked slowly along the beach. He wore none of his usual robes, but only a pair of simple, loose white pants. His figure was impressive for one of his age, partially due to his dragon heritage, among other things. His musculature was defined, and his body bore several scars along the chest, ribs, and back. His hair was as white as the foam of the sea, and his eyes gleamed red like blood. The sand glistened in the sun, as the small waves ebbed and flowed ceaselessly.

As he continued, a hawk-sized bird flew from the air, and perched lightly on his right shoulder. Its feathers encompassed all of the colors of the rainbow, and it seemed to have a majestic air about it. Silnímarë didn't seem to mind the bird, for in reality, it s one of the Anima, the sacred birds of Threnody. Her name was Eruanna, and she was one of Silnímarë's closest familiars. However, not too many months ago, Silnímarë discovered an alloy dragon hatchling, and he raised it as a familiar. Now that it was full-grow, it was a beast to be reckoned with.

Surely enough, as Silnímarë looked down the beach, he saw the enormous form of the dragon, playing in the water like a little puppy. Silnímarë shook his head, and went into the water after his dragon. As he approached, the dragon lowered his head, which Silnímarë gently patted.

Yes, today was going to be a day to relax, and enjoy the bright sun.

Shelendri - March 30, 2007 05:15 AM (GMT)
Sitting on a sand-dune, the sea breeze sending her long hair dancing around her face, Shelendri twirled a one of the small daisies that grew along the beach between her fingers and she quietly watched the ocean. She'd never been here before, so she was naturally curious, as she always was when she came to a new place, but she was enjoying just sitting enjoying the scenery. What good was a day at the beach if you couldn't enjoy yourself?
Stretching out her long legs, she pushed her hair away from her face. She'd left it loose for today, because the experience wouldn't be right if she braided it or caught it in a ribbon. The downside was that it kept getting in her face. And she had a lot of hair to have blown into her eyes and nose. Still, the annoyance of that didn't stand up to the enjoyment she was having with being there.
Moving her eyes along the shore line, she saw a dragon splashing and playing in the surf. Grinning at the sight, she got onto her knees and leaned forward a bit to watch. She'd never seen anything like that. Then, to add to it, a man went over to the dragon and patted its head. That was something marvel at. The dragon must be the man's familiar. Settling down, she decided to watch for a while.

Merenwen Coamenel - March 30, 2007 06:05 AM (GMT)
The sun was shining high in the sky and bouncing off the waves through which Merenwen swam. She was in the form of a dolphin and her armor shone off of her as she darted through the waves. Before she had gotten her armor she had always swam in human form and been unable to go as deep as she did now. Being able to change forms was an amazing thing and she loved the freedom it gave her.

She moved up from the cool depths of the water and burst out in a beautiful arc that only dolphins can manage. The sun glittered off of her gray form making her shine almost as if she was made of silver. As she dove back into the water she noticed something off in the distance in the direction of the shore. Knowing that she had left all of her stuff on shore she worried slightly that someone might come along and take it but she hoped that the rocks she had hidden it in would keep anyone from finding it.

She dove down deeper into the water and swam in the direction where she had thought she had seen something. From below the water she was almost sure that she could see a man's feet as well as the feet of what seemed to be a dragon. She didn't know what a man with a dragon would be doing in the water out at the beach but being the curious type she swam closer. When she was about ten feet away she poked her head back up above the surface of the water.

She could now clearly see the dragon, and a splendid creature it was, though still slightly frightening to her in some ways. The man was standing next to the dragon and seemed to have a great love for the creature so she began to feel more comfortable. Looking at the man she saw someone who seemed kind enough, though without her Sinadrin she couldn't be sure. Looking beyond him she could see another person up on the beach but she didn't think the two were together and wondered if the man knew there was someone else there. She could also see her Golden Harrier, Arien, sitting atop one of the rocks where she had left her stuff. This sight gave her confidence that everything would be there when she returned so she relaxed further and looked back at the man.

She could see the sun shining off of his white hair but from the angle she was at she couldn't tell much more. She again decided to move in closer and when she was about five feet away from him and his dragon she stopped and wondered what he would do when he noticed a dolphin was watching him. She thought it likely that he would notice that she was not your average dolphin, considering her body was covered in armor, but beyond that she had no way of knowing how he would react.

Silnímarë Kikkamm - April 3, 2007 08:16 PM (GMT)
Silnìmarë looked about, for he could sense something. He did not bear a sword, for he had sworn an oath to never again bear a blade. He did not know what this presence was, and it made him uneasy. He never liked the deep waters, they made him very uncomfortable. He felt helpless, as the depths could hide any number of mysteries in their dark corners. When in the great waters, anything could attack you from any direction, with no warning, and disappear just as quickly. As such, he usually stuck to the shallow coasts and rivers.

Even as he was trying to find the presence, he saw a splash of water as a creature lept out of the water, and for a moment, Silnìmarë could hardly believe his eyes. What appeared to be a sea creature of some sort (you see, Silnìmarë was not particularly familiar with marine life, given his aversion to deep waters) clad in armor, both body and armor gleaming in the sunlight. The creature seemed to be a grey-blue fish-like creature of some sort, and Silnìmarë stood perfectly still, showing no apparent emotion. However, given animal's typical tendency for empathy, and their close association with Silnìmarë, both Eruanna and the alloy dragon could sense his apprehension, and they all watched closely for a second appearance. Surely enough, the sea creature poked its head above the water once more, and Silnìmarë's muscles tensed. Silnimare sensed an unusual amount of magic about this creature. Silnìmarë had read in his research vague hints of the elves teaching creatures to speak. Speaking in the Sindarin Tongue, he said, “Hail, stranger. Are you a friend or enemy? I mean no harm to you.” He then waited to see if this creature would understand him, and if so, respond.

Shelendri - April 4, 2007 05:52 AM (GMT)
Shelendri caught her breath at the sight of the dolphin. She'd always loved watching dolphins, though she never got much chance because of how rarely she got to the beach. Seeing one like this just made the day even more perfect.
The dolphin swim nearer to shore, seemingly interested and curious about the man and dragon. That wasn't anything unuaual. Dolphins were some of the most curious creatures there were, investigating anything new to see if they could play with it. There was something unusual about this dolphin, though. The sun was glinting off the dolphin's skin, which looked silver. Shelendri had never seen a silver dolphin before, and while she could except that there could be such a thing, a dolphin whose skin glinted and reflected the sun wasn't a possible things. But of course, from this distance she could be wrong. Maybe it was just the water that the sunlight was bouncing off.
In an attempt to see the dolphin a bit better as it swam close to the man and dragon, she leant further forward. Unfortunately, she had already leant as far as was safe watching the man and dragon. And so as she went even further forward, the sand slipped out from under her knees and she was sent tumbling down the dune.
Slidding sideways the last few metres, she lay still for a few moments, trying to get her wind back. Next time she was visiting the beach, she would have to be more careful.

Merenwen Coamenel - April 4, 2007 07:33 AM (GMT)
The dolphin was surprised when she heard the man speak to here in the elven tongue, of all the things she had thought might happen that had not been one of them. Behind him she could still see the woman on the beach and it seemed that the woman was now even more interested in what was going on then she had been before. Still not knowing if the man even realized the other women was the Merenwen couldn't decide how to react to her actions. That is, she couldn't decide until she watched the woman tumble off of her perch and begin to roll down the sand. Some people may have see it as rude but Merenwen began to laugh slightly, though the sound was more of a dolphin whistle with the intonation of a laugh then a true human laugh.

She then looked back at the man and thought about what he had said to her. She was glad that he mentioned meaning no harm as it meant that he likely wasn't of an evil alignment, but she couldn't be sure of anything and so needed to decide how to respond. He must have realized that something was different about her as most people wouldn't just start asking a dolphin questions but she wondered how much her had figured out. She also wanted to be careful because she was afraid that if she changed too close to him and his dragon she may end up hurt if she scared them in some way.

Even so, she thought that the best course of action would likely be to change into her regular form so that he would understand exactly what was going on. She felt a little odd speaking to people while in animal form and this just gave her even more reason to change. Thinking this she backed away a couple more feet and began her transformation. It didn't take long before she was before them with her blonde hair flowing around her face, her clothes plastered to her body under her armor due to being damp, and having to tread water slightly as she wasn't exactly the tallest elf, in fact she was rather short for her kind.

When she had finished her transformation she glanced back up at the man and his dragon feeling a little self conscious. She never knew what to expect from people when she transformed in front of them and hoped that she hadn't scared them. "Hello," she said, "I am Merenwen and I hope that I will be able to consider myself a friend, though I will have to get to know you better before I can say for sure. As it is, I mean you no harm as long as you mean me none. By the way, did you realize that there is another who is sitting on the beach watching us?" With that she nodded her head towards the woman on the sand and stood awaiting his response. She knew that her saying she could not yet call herself a friend could be taken as wrong or mean but it was only how she was, she wanted to be sure that she could trust a person before she gave them her friendship.
