Title: Haunting the Dead
Description: [p]
Seregloth - March 28, 2007 03:48 AM (GMT)
It was after dark, the full moon had just peaked itself up and over the horizon. At the moment it was only half a circle of silver and blue shining brilliance, and it was just making it's monthly complete rise over the edges of her vision. Of course the word her was referring to Sere, shortened from Seregloth. It was a name given to a shape shifting Vampiress by the elves, she rarely confessed her real name to many people. In their tongue it meant something along the lines of Blood Flower, and it, the name, was a very well suited to her. She was a thing, a being, of beauty like a flower but it was only sustain as long as she lived and for her to live she needed blood. Sere was a vampire, a undead subject of darkness, shadow, and night. Their lives are ruled, from the day they turn , by the sunlight and by the night: Whilst some embrace it others are the ones who turn against it...Sere considered herself somewhere in between. She embraced it and used it, but everyday she awoke with the pain of being what she was, a vampire.
But who was she to wonder about the in between, she was the one who chose this. Before she drank that first drop of his blood she was normal, she was human and she was his slave. Not bound in chains of servitude, but she was a slave to his will. She had succumbed to the power of the vampire, the power of fake love. However in this world there were some people and races who were immune to this power, she of course was now that she was a vampire. But there was an ancient breed of humans and other beings that were born to hunt down vampires and they were immune. They had a strong will and soul that rendered them immune to the parlor tricks of vampires...they were born with the ability to concentrate on their tasks and not fall into the fear of a vampire. And that was what brings us to Sere, she was being both hunted by these things tonight but also for some reason she was also being plagued by her past. It was a finicky thing, her past, it came back to haunt her and then it faded so that she never knew exactly what she remembered and when she could remember it. There were those days when she felt like she didn't know herself, and then there were days like these when if she wasn't careful she would fall into a comma of reverie.
Vampires couldn't hide anywhere, not in the pub or bar like Sere was, and they most certainly couldn't hide during the day. And even in their element, the dark and night, they could be tracked down. Vampires had to be careful and cautious to avoid all sorts of things, and not to leave a drained husk of a body laying around somewhere. Sere had made that mistake once and it had turned sour, it went south within a day or so and she spent the next two centuries locked up in a vapid tomb located in the land of the dead. But now she was just wearing her cloak and trying to blend into the background of the pub. She had spotted the hunters and she knew they hadn't spotted her for they hadn't started some sort of riot yet. Hunters were usually so narrow minded and tactless, they would use the townspeople to help corner a vampire and then the whole town would go crazy. The smart ones however waited and followed a vampire outside. Sure it was more open but it gave them more options and less of a fuss on both ends. That's when they are able to truly make sure something doesn't go wrong and a vampire has no way of resurrecting itself. Anyways, there sere was sitting and waiting for the alarm to go off and her chance to leave. They knew she was a shape shifter but they also knew the signs, they had various detecting abilities that rendered her ability useless.
Sanul Rallos - March 28, 2007 03:55 AM (GMT)
This wonderful evening Sanul found himself stuck inside a bar, the people were close and the talking was rough. Few people in there were completely sober and it bothered him. He just had this feeling that as funny as the drunk guy sitting next to him, face down, eating out of a plate without his hands that this night would turn out dismally. Then again there was this insipid little beak nosed man, he was all hunched up with his beady little eyes darting all around the room. Sanul didn't think he was completely drunk but maybe buzzed enough to alter his personality. San glanced around the room, taking in the noisiness and the crowd. A pair of men throwing and catching mugs of ale between the two of them. A girl sitting in the corner of the room with a gaggle of gigglers slowly getting drunk on some sort of cheap bar wine. The wood that smelt of puke, spilt alcohol, and a little bit of old blood supported everyone in the room. The bar was obviously all built by the same person because the same style was used on the tables to the beams and support pillars situated throughout the room
And then there were the few peopel who weren't out there in the center of the room mingling with each other. Two guys scanning the room repetively, staring straight into the crowd, no doubt searching for their wives partying with the wrong man. Or maybe they were lookign for someone to pay up on something, he coudl have cared less it wasn't his problem yet anyways. There were also a few peopel along the back wall, one in particular was a young maiden with silvery bangs, she had a claok on but the hood was down and she didn't have anything drink wise in front of her. To Sanul she was jsut sitting there, and she was doing what came naturally to her. Being beuatiful is a crime to some people, and the fact of the matter is that soem people can't help it. He turned around after lookign her over a few more times, making his only rather manly observations about her body, with particular areas in mind.
Seregloth - March 28, 2007 04:01 AM (GMT)
Wondering what she should do next, Sere just sat there rather calmly and completely aware of where the men who were hunting her were, she knew that they were consorting with others in the crowd to make themselves less visible to their prey and to seek out their prey had she been one of those that would have tried to party to blend in. She however was way smarter than that, she had been around long enough to know how most hunters acted even if they were smarter than the usual wannabes that were just seeking out some money. It was very rarely that you ever saw an excellent vampire hunter who knew exactly what to do and how to do it. Even some of the smarter ones had only come as near a vampire as books on the subject, and fewer had ever really killed one. It may have been they seen one die but very few of them had actually staked a vampire in the heart, most likely they had been present at one but alas it was not them who actually did it.
But back to the main point, she became suddenly uncomfortable with her surroundings. she stuck out somewhat, her hair wasn't exactly normal and shape shifting in here would give her away since, for her, the ability was a little glow like. She needed something to help her at least look like she was supposed to be there, maybe a drink or something but she didn't have anything on her at the moment. For several minutes she sat there trying and failing to send a subtle signal for a bartender or some other form of waiter to come over, but she had no such luck as previously stated. Instead she jerked her hands and fingers around looking like a complete and total nut job in front of people she most likely would never see in her natural face again, as such it didn't bother her in the slightest so she took no notice of anything that may have been sent her way.
The one person she did think she had caught the eye of was this guy sitting at the bar, and there was no way to be sure but he was cute...in his own way. If you like slightly darkened skin and swirling lines for a tattoo, unusual eyes which were a blend of amber and gray. then there was his hair, it was whiter than she could ever have thought possible, her own lightened bangs were as blonde as she could get them short of dying them, which after a shift or two would have worn off. That was one of the more disdainful things about being a vampire and a shape shifter, your body tended to revert to whatever it looked like when you were first turned. As such she retained a plump and curvy figure, hair that was now naturally messed up, and even though she was a shape shifter that just meant that things went back to her normal even faster. With a sigh she starred at him maybe she could a meal out of all of this.
Sanul Rallos - March 28, 2007 04:11 AM (GMT)
He pulled out a bit of money he had got that day for dancing and called for the waiter. He had seen the girl that he had previously been looking at trying to get their attention, and miserably failing. 'so maybe I should help her out' he thought, it was all rather cliched. A guy helping out a girl who was making a fool out of herself, or so he got the impression of his actions towards her. Once he had summoned the waiter to him he simply asked for a couple of drinks, "Can you get me a mug of ale and some wine...and how much will it cost?" the waiter looked at him for a few moments before replying while bending down to get some mugs, "Sure, and it'll be a couple of coins..." it wasn't a real answer but Sanul got the drift he tossed up what would be more than enough for the drinks and for a tip. Almost immediately the drinks appeared before him and he picked them up while standing up and saying, "Keep the change hun..." he turned and faced the crowd. Deciding it would be safer to venture around the main floor, he stepped to the side and stuck close to the wall trying to make his way around to the girl.
He bumped into a few people and less than half of them even so much as glanced his way. Even if he said sorry, if they acknowledged his presence they didn't show it. It was as if for most purposes he was invisible in this place, only he wasn't invisible. He was of a small race that resided in the swamps of the Misty Forests, and as he made his way over to the table and towards this lovely woman he couldn’t help but think that for an outcast he was doing pretty well for himself. He was only a few feet away from the table when he stumbled, he didn’t spill a drop but he couldn’t help but be embarrassed by the fact. He ragined his composure and faced her. “I’m not exactly great at this. So just humor me and answer one question...would you like mead or wine.” as he said this he raised each mug to show which was which and then set them down on the table. Standing there waiting, he wondered if he had messed up royally or not...
Seregloth - March 29, 2007 03:31 AM (GMT)
She laughed silently to herself as she saw him fall almost pathetically and then quickly he brought back his composure. She also, however wondered about him drawing attention to her. She was trying to blend in and though having him around would help it would be hard for her. After all she couldn't drink anything but blood, and food was completely off limits to her stomach. But when he asked her which drink she preferred, she liked the smell of ale over that of wine so accordingly she said,"Why I'll take the Ale, but what, my sir, will you drink? Surely you are not comfortable with wine, for that is a ladies drink is it not." she sounded like she was making fun of him somewhat, but when she studied his face she stopped. She liked the way he looked, and even if she couldn't be sure if the feeling was mutual if she was nice maybe she could get a bit of blood out of him.
So instead of pursuing the question further, she gave him a polite and inviting smile. She tried to make as warm as possible, but that was seemingly impossible. Would it not be for someone who had spent their life hunted and jaded, not knowing what love felt like because of a mistake someone made for her in her childhood. However back to the subject at hand, She took the Ale mug that he was offering and brought it close to her, while not taking a drink of it though. She looked at him expectantly but before he could get the message she decided that it would be best if she just verbalized her request. "Why don't you take a seat, It would be such a shame for you to keep standing." she said in a sugary and as flowery a voice she could muster. Then there was a thought that accompanied that query. 'It would also bring more attention than needed to this table.'
She waited almost constantly for him to look away so she could dump away some of the ale, it smelt better to her for some odd reason but this bar’s variant was utterly repulsive. It smelled strongly of what she associated with crap, she wasn’t sure which animal’s waste it was, but it was somewhere between horses and pigs and it was really burning out her nostrils. That would have been the stuff she would have smelt if she ever got a sinus congestion. She made it a point of the whole thing to keep the mug as far away as possible, and honestly she couldn’t see how some of these men could drink this stuff. Was there some secret that they all knew that she didn’t on drinking liquid crap. And while she was pondering that, she forgot to pay her guest any attention. And she was rather unsure if she was making any faces to match the smell, but when the thought crossed her mind she sincerely hoped she hadn’t.
Sanul Rallos - March 29, 2007 10:30 PM (GMT)
San took her advice and invitation and sat down. He slid into the wooden chair while simultaneously letting her have the Ale. Once down in the chair he brought the mug of wine closer to himself, it was sweet. A little to sweet for his nose and he sneezed. He actually laughed a little bit when she said something about wine being for ladies, "Sure it can be for ladies, but I don't mind it. I actually prefer it over Ale. Especially this places and besides wine is better for keeping your wits about." he sent the comments flying back at her before bringing it up and taking a sip of the stuff with his eyes closed. He swished it around in his mouth somewhat before taking another drink. He did this as to test and see if the wine was a sweet as it smelled and once he deemed it drinkable he proceeded to do so. He sat the mug back down and looked around the room. Everyone was pretty much having a good time so he decided to strike up some sort of conversation, "So what brings you to this oh so lovely inn and bar, I', here because the other inn was full.".
He had been planning to be cool and smooth and all that but now that it came down to it though he was spiraling downwards extremely fast. Not only had he stumbled and just barely managed to avoid spilling the drinks all over the girl he was trying, and in his opinion failing, to flirt with this woman he also sneezed and was being made fun of for preferring wine. It wasn’t exactly his definition of cool, or awesome, or even nice. It completely sucked and he knew it, and after all that he couldn’t hold his head up high so he just let it droop down and he started to stare at the sweet red wine.
Seregloth - March 30, 2007 04:22 PM (GMT)
The moment he had looked away, the mug suddenly became half empty. This was not a glass half full or half empty argument situation. The glass half full argument would be that the glass was now half empty, which contradicts itself and makes no sense. However with that gone and on the ground behind her, she no longer had to smell the perfuse odor of dung ale. Not that she would have drank or ate a lot of anything these days, blood was her main diet and her stomach was intolerant to a lot of other things ever since she became a vampire. No acids, so that meant no fruits, no milk, and very little alcohol could be consumed. So it was an exaggeration before, about the whole food was off limits what was the use if you couldn't eat fruit, drink drinks, or have milk and cheese products. She admired his features for a bit, he wasn't to buff and he wasn't to skinny. You could easily tell that he did some sort of physical activity for his job, though she couldn't tell at first. And one of the odd things she noticed about him was that while she could smell everyone else's blood in the room and identify. She had never came upon his type of blood before. It was slightly attractive to her.
Even with all of this going on though, she nearly died again when she saw that the two men who were after her were not in the crowd anymore. She looked all around the room, in as an un-frantic and un-panic-able way she could before she found them sitting not to far away from her. She had caught one of the men's eye and he lifted his glass and smiled a smile that said, 'Watch out later,' or something like that. she grimaced back and went back to listening to him talk. "Ah no particular reason. I'm staying here for the night I guess, I'm a traveler of sorts and I'm not sure were I'm going next. But you know what, I just realized that neither of us has introduced ourselves! So that being said, my name is Sere and what would be yours?" she said trying to lighten the mood, he was obviously trying very hard and she sort of felt both an apprehensiveness and a little bit of pity. He was cute, not in the ah isn't my dog so cute, way but more in the dateable kind of way.
It was hard trying to pay attention to both him and the hunters sitting not to far away. If she survived this, maybe they could meet up again sometime, or maybe not. Sere was not exactly one for relationships, she had been jaded in the past and it still haunted her. To clarify this here is a summary of what ad happened. She was kidnapped at a young age and given everything she wanted until her powers as a sorceress peaked and so did her beauty. The kidnapper was a vampire notorious for finding children with potential and doing this. Once they hit that mark he used the vampire’s bite to forever immortalize those abilities. Vampiric bodies tend to revert naturally back to what they looked like at the time of the biting, spiritual powers grow and never wane away. That is why the older a vampire gets the more powerful it becomes magically. Vampires however cannot grow physically once they’ve been bitten they are bitten. After her biting at an age somewhere in her twenties, she had everything taken away from her and she was slowly turned. Once it was completely she was nothing more than that man’s love slave, what she did about is another story.
Sanul Rallos - March 30, 2007 06:44 PM (GMT)
He laughed a little as she gave her name, and in fact he realized that she was right, neither of them had given their names. It would have been awkward if they had met and then suddenly they left each other without ever knowing each other's names. "Well that is a very pretty name, what does it mean, or ummm... I mean is it short for anything." he said stumbling upon his words like a love struck school boy. "Anyways my name is Sanul Rallos, sometimes people call me San I don't really care for it though." he took another drink of the wine, and with his second drink he reduced the cheap metal mug's contents to about half full. He set the mug back down on the table, and tried to subtly wipe away the bit of wine that rested on his upper lip with his left arm and hand. He let it rest back down on the table and tried to get the conversation going again but he also noticed that she seemed oddly alert, it wasn't completely obvious but then again she looked different for a second. However it was not long before she was back to normal, even though he didn't completely know what normal was for her. He had only known her for all of maybe thirty minutes to an hour, and what chit chat they had exchanged was going slow.
In the next few minutes he saw her gaze drifting behind him, she did this several times and each time this uncomfortable look flashed across her face. He waited a little while before he turned around to see what it was she was looking at. There was no one at the table directly next to them on his side, but after that there were two men facing each other. He didn't recognize either of them from those he'd seen around the room, but the did look like they were going to give her trouble. "Do you know those guys, like from around here or something." he said turning back around to her and looking her in the face. Taking in her eyes and hair, she was so wonderfully beautiful, she wasn't extremely skinny or gigantically large. "Cause if they aren't exactly friendly we could always go some place else..." it occurred to him only a split second afterwards that the comment might have sounded slightly cocky, as if he wanted them to go to his room or something. So he drooped his head.
Seregloth - March 30, 2007 06:50 PM (GMT)
She nearly jumped at the chance to get out of the room, she knew he didn't mean to sound perverted and that he wasn't insinuating a one night stand. She got the impression that he was to good for something like that, and besides it wasn't like she was the type of girl to do such a thing. It took her a moment to calm down emotionally from the thought of a way of escape, and someone to help her out if she got cornered but she did and afterwards she hurriedly replied, "You know what, I'm so glad you offered. Those guys are a little pissed at me because of something I did, or didn't do with them for a matter of fact. And they just sort of come off as the type of men who would you know take something like not sleeping with them personally. I just want to avoid trouble so I think it's best if we just get up and go..." at that point she didn't really care where they went as long as they went somewhere. Anywhere would do, either of their rooms, out on the street, some other pub just not there. she ran her fingers through her hair, tucking some of it back behind her ears as a sign of nervousness and hoped to god that he would let them go in a hurry.
She wasn't exactly used to feeling uncomfortable or being hunted by people with experience and it was oddly comforting to be around someone else who may help her. "Anywhere, I'm not picky and I don't care if we go to some other pub or to the moon, just can we get away." okay so now she sounded a little desperate but it wasn't entirely her fault she was being hunted by Vampire Killers and all that. She took her mug and slid it to the far side of the table and it hit the wall with a semi-loud thunk, afterwards she got up and brushed herself off. She ran her hands along her cloak to get some of the ceilings crap off of her and dusted off her butt to remove the nasty old wooden chairs stuff off of her. She ran her hands over clothes again to smooth them out and walked over to Sanul and stood by his side, but not before sending the same smile that the men had sent her right back at them. She turned around and waited for him to get up and going, she knew she might be coming off as a little impatient but she also thought that she knew he would understand why.
---I know it is a little short---
Sanul Rallos - March 31, 2007 04:36 AM (GMT)
He listened with amazement as she said what she said, she wanted to go anywhere even to the moon. It was a possibility but he knew that she was just joking. He smiled at the comments and then quickly dropped it hoping that she hadn't interpreted it as either amusement at her dilemma or contentment with getting her away and alone. "Well can we stop by my room so I can get some stuff, then we can jsut go outside and walk around. Maybe when we get back they won't be here when we get back and even if they are I doubt they'll be awake or sober enough to do anything other than fall down and start snoring." He took the signal that it was time to go when she shoved her mug aside and he did the same as he quickly took one last gulp and then sat it down gently on the table. He didn't bother to dust himself off, instead he just sat there and watched her. He pushed his mug towards the wall as well while she walked over next to him, and then by pushing up on the table he slid and lifted himself up and out of the chair. It was the first time he got a good look at her standing up and he had to admit that she was quite ravishing, curvy and full but not to the point where it was like she had no waist.
He stood up and took a last glance at the guys they'd agree to avoid together and then not knowing what to do he put his arm around her. He'd learnt that placing your arm to hi was coded for saying I want to be friends, and two lows was just asking for trouble. Instead he took it about the middle of her back and used that position to lead her away and around the room. He squeezed them in between the partying crowd and eventually they made it over to a hallway that led to the back and then it had a staircase to one side that took people up to their rooms. He fiddled around with the keys in his pocket with his free arm as they made their way over to said staircase. "Ladies first," he said as he gestured for her to take the first step. He did a slight bowing motion as he said this and waited for her to ascend the stairs, he used these moments while she took those steps to take out his key and get it ready.
Seregloth - March 31, 2007 06:14 PM (GMT)
She liked the feeling of his arm around her waist, and when he guided her away it as really a guide not a push in some direction. True it was awkward when they were trying to get in between the people and the wall but they made it through and in no time at all their footsteps and his arm brought them to a hallway and not soon after that a staircase. She smiled at him when he asked her to go first, and she lifted her dress and cloak at the front so as not to trip and fall going up the stairs. As she walked up several of the roughly carved wooden boards creaked, momentarily scaring her before she realized that it would hurt her unless she was staked through the heart with a piece of wood. With each creaking step her body went higher and higher until her head peaked into the next floor. Their were railings around the staircase sides, no doubt to keep people from unwarily falling in. she placed her right hand on one of these railings and wit her left hand she let her clothes drop down to their normal heights as soon as she was on the flat floor.
It was dimly lit on this level of the building but it mattered not to her, her eyes were well adjusted to all light. It was to the point where day was night and night was day, she could see equally well in both of the times. The first thing she noticed about the place was how large it seemed to be at first but then she realized the number of rooms had nothing to do with it. It was most likely in any case either full of small rooms or rooms magicked to be larger than they really should have been. There was still one more story to this place after all that may have been where they had the larger more human sized and spaced rooms. As she waited for him to follow up the stairs afterwards she also noticed how the smell of must and men was stronger up here, due to the fact that in that day and age shampoo and hygiene weren’t exactly the most dominant things, or invented for that matter. The rooms may have been cleaned regularly but still that stench had seeped into the wood and if you weren’t used to it then it was slightly repulsive. Like walking into a badly kept cafeteria for the first time, it crinkled her nose but she quickly got used to it.
This place brought back a few haunting memories from her past for her. She identified this place with the kind of housing that her vampiric captor had held her in before he changed his mind and gave her a dank and dark cave to sleep in. The wood itself was carved in almost exactly the same way as that manor, and it brought back horrid memories of his room. That was the place where it had all happened, where she had been bitten, left to turn and rot, and then forced to feed upon another for the first time. It reminded her of the place where not only had she changed physically but also she had been turned into a different person all together. This was where she had ended the nightmare as well, in a way that was swift for him but seemed to take forever for her. She was brought back to the present fairly quickly though and she refocused on surveying and memorizing the hallway. There windows at both ends and another staircase by one of those windows, that staircase however was a spiraling one compared to the regularity of the one she had just come up. There were also four candleholders with lit candles on them placed evenly down the hall with two on each side.
Sanul Rallos - April 6, 2007 02:35 AM (GMT)
He slowly followed her up the stairs, it was moments that took forever as they both rose slowly into the next story of the building. Each step creaked slightly with his weight, and he could not tell if it was his ears and imagination or just his weight. He suddenly felt oddly self conscious about how he looked and everything seemed so much more amplified compared to what is was to him before that moment. He stopped for a few seconds and tried to look himself over, but all he could see was something that wasn't anything more than a disguise. A shape he could take to blend in more accurately with his surroundings which in this case were human beings and not foliage or animalistic beings.
He continued to ascend the steps and kept going until his head also peaked over the top of the stairwell's hole down to the lower floor. The railings that surrounded it would help to prevent some accident's but then again it wouldn't really matter if a the inn-stayers were say maybe drunken or just completely oblivious to the world around them and it's inhabitants and objects. However he was neither of the aforementioned stereotypes of people and as such when he got up onto the platform that was the floor of this story he noticed how dimly the hallway, the singular and slightly wide corridor, was lit when put in comparison with the rooms down stairs. Each room downstairs had several lanterns, one in each corner and others hanging throughout to make plenty of light. but up here there was just enough light to see in the dark, it was like twilight all over again except without the sky full of colors and the bugs buzzing around outside hitting you in the face.
He joined her for a moment, before looking at her and sending a follow me signal without really speaking directly to her, he stepped forward and went a couple feet left and down the hall to where his room was located. He shoved the rusty key in the hole and twisted it. Opening it up, he stepped inside to reveal a dusty and musty room that had obviously been used before and was slightly askew. Everything was actually very askew, the room was very warped and twisted. It showed remnants of what seemed to be an attempt to make the room homey at one time. A squished and stretched back out to normal picture, a chair with it’s knees and legs buckled inward and the back busted the top off. The bed had it’s legs spread out in all four directions and sagged inwards making it appear lower than it should be. “In case your wondering, yes this is the Deluxe Suite.”
Seregloth - April 23, 2007 10:10 PM (GMT)
"It's wonderful, very wonderfully squished and... it even smells like they spilt mead everywhere in this place...what a lovely...okay so I'm lying right through my teeth. This place is a dump, but It's place none the less even if it looks like an ogre tried to take up residence in the bed and a hurricane came in a knocked the pictures around." she joked light heartedly for a few seconds and then raised her hand to her chest which was a rarely used mannerism that represented surprise for her. She hadn't made an honest spur of the moment joke in a long time, most of her so called jokes were sarcasm sure but still most of the time she meant it in a scathing way not just in a generic talking with your friends and others around you type of way. She smiled at herself and then continued to talk. "So anyways, I have this feeling that those guys might you know take it in their interests to come up here after me. Any side exits at this place, you know where we can just get outside.?" she asked, she had learned long ago to know where every possible exit was.
It was something she had picked up when she had been forced to masquerade herself as a Elvin thief for a couple of months. She didn't plan on the fact that the prey she had chosen was a high ranking member of the guild and that she would have to lead a even bigger double life. But in the end she escaped and what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, Sere tended to be living proof of that. She had picked up many different skills and abilities throughout her life in this manner, just something she had learned to do to protect herself. To keep herself safe from pain and life, but whenever a person goes to such lengths to shut things out they do so to the good and the bad. Sere hadn't realized this yet and hopeful one day it wouldn't come back in the dark to bite her in the butt or something.
She looked at the room one last time before se headed for the door, truly getting antsy because of the guys downstairs. Of course they would take the door at the end of the hall that led to the equivalent of a fire-escape but what they would do after that was blind to her. She didn't have the foggiest clue of what they would do outside, most likely just stroll around in the dim light of the half way full moon of that night. She didn't get to see much of it before, she was in a hurry from being well hunted. And when people are chasing another person the person being chased isn't as likely to stop on the side of a road and smell flowers looking at the moon saying oh it's pretty. Not unless they have sort of death wish or wanting to be caught and mugged.
Sanul Rallos - April 24, 2007 02:22 AM (GMT)
She left a little bit ahead of him as he gathered up everything that he might need, while not technically moving out of the place yet. He had a couple of days left on his vacation and he wasn't about to pay for a room and then just up and leave, even if he was paying for a squashed abstract piece of crap like this, there were no refunds. About a minute or so after Sere left the room he turned around half circle to head out the now closed door as well. He reached his hand out and forward to touch the rusty knob of the door, as his hand met the rough rusty metal he turned it and it made an odd scraping sound as it came loose. It shook some of the rusty metal off itself this time and the door creaked and squeaked as it opened up to reveal the dimly lit hallway just outside his door. He stepped through the in-between of the door that separated the room from the said hallway and as soon as he crossed the threshold he swatted his hand around behind him. Eventually after a second swat or a third, his hand found the door knob and shut the door with a slight slam and it automatically locked on him. He heard the click and was satisfied enough with it for now.
He automatically made for the stairs but upon his footsteps reaching the stairwell eh looked up and Sere seemed to be leaning more towards the side door exit, he hadn't actually thought of that. As such he hadn't taken it into account that they could avoid the men entirely and just skip them going out onto the side of the building. Of course the stairs were narrow and lacking rails but it was an alternate rout none the less and he almost hit himself in the head in reality for not realizing it. He turned on his heel almost falling over as he did so to walk to wards the door. After what seemed like a minute of walking he finally reached the end of the hallway not glancing back at Sere until he had pulled the reluctant door open and bowed low to let her through. He let go of the door knob and it went even further back without even the slightest of noises to signal that it was doing so and by the time she crossed through it had bounced against the wall, he stood up straight full of 'good posture' and followed out after her shutting the door almost as silently as it had ghostly floated itself over to the wall. It wouldn't quite shut so he had to apply a bit more force.
