Title: The Falling Star
Description: Private. PM to join
Dispater - March 19, 2007 10:23 PM (GMT)
The sun was setting out, and the Eastern Coast was slowly starting to be enveloped by the darkness of the night. At first the clear sky was of a mystic dark orange color, but only for a short amount of time before turning dark. The stars were also starting to appear, it seemed like it was going to be a usual peaceful and silent night. Contrary to this setting, the sea seemed to be very agitated, the waves were pretty large and they were crashing powerfully against the shore, sweeping the sand and any small, insignificant creature that lived within it. Probably there was a storm somewhere on the sea, or the sea itself anticipated something that was about to happen, something unusual, and not very common, a creature from another plane of existence was on the verge of making its appearance into this realm, just on those shores.
It would not take too long before pretty large figure would blink into the area, it was like a falling star, appearing out of the blue and now heading towards the ground at a very high speed, concerning how heavy it was. Something went terribly wrong with this traveling technique between planes of existence, he was supposed to appear in a safe place and not high into the air. Soon the creature would make contact to the ground, the earth cracking beneath him, not even the wings could have helped him in that situation. But fortunately he was tough enough to survive such a fall, though he was a little dizzy, and remained laying there while he tried to regain his composure. If any would look, they could clearly distinguish the special and uncommon traits of this plane-traveler. He resembled a tall, scarlet-skinned fiend, with a pair of dusky feathered wings which were now laying beneath him but were unaffected by the fall. He wore loose-fitting robes, and instead of hair he had a gray-indigo vapor rising from the top of his head. His eyes were the most striking feature, they penetrated the darkness with their emerald glow. But the strangest of feelings would get the ones that were able to read the aura of other beings surrounding them, this certain creature which had fallen from the sky radiated both as a celestial and a fiendish creature. Even though it was not so highly likeable to happen, the two heritages lived in harmony within him.
The only item which seemed to have survived the failed journey was sword, the weapon was pretty large, and it was often preferred by creatures as large as he was, they responded perfectly to the extra deal of strength which the wielded was able to add to the attacks.
A few minutes passed before the fiendish-looking creature moved at all, the feathery wings twitched beneath him, and so did his fingers as they were digging into the ground. He was trying to regain his strength in order to push himself to his feet, and explore the surrounding areas. Why did he come here was a mystery, even for himself, he didn’t seem to remember any of the past few days, and why he had come here. Perhaps he was sent here by someone else, against his will… Well he will soon find out.
Airyanya - March 19, 2007 10:56 PM (GMT)
As soon as the sun had lowered itself below the horizon, Airyanya was on the go. It was rare to find her on the surface during the daytime, as her enemy's spiteful rays weakened her and made her strength decay. The darkness was her best friend and helped keep her safe from her enemy, the two battling in an on-going war, much like the war going on between good and evil. Airyanya herself kept out of both of the wars, but sometimes aided the darkness in its fight against the Sun. Never would she fight alongside creatures of the surface. Never.
Coming to a complete stop, Airyanya's pale eyes widened a little as the sound of some sort of hard collision into the earth sounded, ringing in her keen ears. Narrowing her eyes, the Drow continued on, her strides quickened and more brisk as she walked atop the sands, careful to keep her feet light so she wouldn't sink so much.
The crater she came across didn't surprise her in the least, as the sound of the collision gave her some hint that it had been a very huge thing that had cracked the Earth. Raising an eyebrow in curiousity, Airyanya allowed her left hand to slide onto her dagger's hilt, her fingers loosely resting on the matieral as she carefully looked down to see what exactly had supposedly fallen from the sky.
It was a mere creature. His body was coated in a crimson colour, reminding Airyanya undoubtly of blood, and the wings on his back gave her the suspicion that he had, in fact, fallen from the sky above.
How odd... Airyanya commented mentally as she caught sight of the creature's piercing eyes. They were beautifully penetrating, and Airyanya found them a very interesting quality on the creature.
When the fallen had begun to move, Airyanya quietly shifted back, making sure to keep her movements as deadly silent as she possibly could on the sand, her eyes narrowing even more as she studied the creature with utter silence on her lips. She never said a word, finding no necessity for one, and waiting to see if this creature discovered her on its own terms. If not, that was its downfall, not hers.
Dispater - March 20, 2007 01:55 PM (GMT)
The creature grunted. He was still slightly in pain, but he was recovering fast. Sniffing the air a few times he found it quite enjoyable and relaxing, the Material Plane seemed like a nice, and interesting place to explore, but he was still a little dizzy and confused from that fall, it was terrible. Slowly he was starting to remember who he was, a Concordant Killer, a unique powerful creature, created eons ago as an experiment of the gods of neutrality, he was a crossbreed magically created. His name was Dispater, a name given to reflect his fiendish essence better.
Dispater was about to fall into a deep contemplation-like stance while he was recovering and trying to remember more about him, but that wouldn’t last for too long as someone made their presence on the coast, disturbing his rest and thoughts, it was a female drow. More than likely she heard the loud noise he had caused when slamming hard into the ground, and now was coming to investigate the matter. Oh, he had heard about the drow and met many in the past, they were such a curios race, so dark, wicked and evil, mostly the females who were the leaders of the community. But weird enough he could not get any evil signals from her, she radiated more neutrality than evilness, and that was a good thing for that matter, he only got along well with neutral creatures and hunted the ones of the extreme alignments.
His emerald glowing eyes turned quickly into the direction of the dark elf, scanning her up for a few seconds while he was able to see her. She was becoming agitated and he could feel that, but he didn’t blame her, it was not common to see a creature such as he was falling from the sky. He never got a chance to use his ability to take the form of something so ordinary as a human male, something that would not draw too much attention, but even in his human form his eyes betrayed him, for some reason he could not extinguish their glow, nor change their color. They were there to remind him all the time who he really was, and stop him if he ever remained in that form for too long.
“And who might you be?” He asked, from his crater, his voice deep, resonating powerfully.
Few of his bones cracked as he moved once more, his crimson, muscular arms shifted, and his palms pressed into the ground as he forced himself to sit up; his eyes falling once more on the curios visitor.
Airyanya - March 20, 2007 09:48 PM (GMT)
Airyanya continued to study him curiously, still staying as silent as she could to maintain her nonexistance. However, that didn't seem to last long, as those piercing eyes caught sight of her and stayed on her. Her pale eyes remained narrowed, even as she knew she had been discovered, and she stayed quiet all the same, now watching him with more alertness, just in case he somehow managed to attack her.
The creature was trying to move and sit up when it spoke to her, its mascline voice ringing in her ears with a powerful, deep tone. She only blinked softly, waiting a moment before she even began to debate whether or not she should answer his question.
"Airyanya, of House Orbelo," she finally said after a couple moments after seeing the male creature sit himself up. Her voice was low and quiet, but something in the way she spoke gave her an air of mystery, her voice able to capture weak ones into her deceiving ways much easier than when she actually had to work.
"And you?" she countered back at him, staying rooted where she was, her white hair being blown into her darker complexed face as a strong gust of wind blew past her. However, she didn't move to brush the strands away, wanting to stand as still as she could so she would be able to catch the other's every move.
Dispater - March 21, 2007 01:36 PM (GMT)
Dispater’s eyes remained fixed upon the figure of the woman for a few seconds before turning away. He cupped his head with his scarlet colored hands, with long fingers which ended in sharp, black nails, they looked as they could be used as a weapon themselves The head was hurting slightly, but he just shook off the pain, and slowly stood up to his feet. He was a very tall and imposing figure, though his facial expressions still showed a little bit of confusion. The dusky, feathery wings he possessed twitched a few times before folding on upon the other onto the creature’s back.
The drow female introduced herself, but the reply would come only after a few seconds of silence in which Dispater was taking his time to think of all the things which have occurred lately, how and why he ended up here, he could have been sent for a reason, or for no reason at all. Slowly, his penetrating eyes would find the fragile figure of Airyanya once more, her name was quickly memorized by him, and not only. The concordant killer analyzed her quickly, without her having to notice that, even the way she talked didn’t go unnoticed; she was mysterious indeed, like any drow would be, but something was different, something that made her unique, something that Dispater still had to figure out.
“I am Dispater…” His reply came short, but it would not take long before he spoke again, not giving her any chance of saying or doing something else other than listen to him. “Could you do me a service and tell me where we are?” He stood tall, upon a first glance he could be easily mistaken for a demon or a similar creature of sorts, but his mere presence, the way he talked and how he carried himself showed a lot of charisma, thing which was not so common among fiends. He showed no hostility towards her thanks to the fact that she was of a neutral alignment. Perhaps having someone by his side who fully belonged to this plane would not be a too bad idea. But could he trust a drow?
Airyanya - March 21, 2007 08:57 PM (GMT)
When he looked away, Airyanya furrowed her eyebrows slightly, a little agitated but still curious all the same. He then slowly began to stand, and Airyanya took another step back, not out of fear, but just incase he fell or something. She didn't want nor need him falling on her, as he was much larger than her and would more-than-likely squash her beneath him.
His eyes found her once more and she looked right back at him, a blank expression on her face once again. After a couple seconds, he introduced himself in reply to her question, but before she could nod to show she had heard him, he spoke again, and her eyes fluttered about the area around them when he mentioned it. When her eyes returned to Dispater, her lips parted, speech soon flowing from them.
"Some beach, apparently," she said, glancing around again. "The name of which I am unknowleadgeable about. I'm not fond of knowing nor memorizing names of the surface places." When she had answered his question, she went quiet again, her eyes on the other once more as she waited for his reply.
Dispater - March 22, 2007 06:11 PM (GMT)
The reply she had given to him was not at all to his liking, but instead of doing anything stupid about it, attack her or a thing of sorts, he just shook his head, it was not worth it. That was just her way of acting, and after all he could not blame her for not liking to remember the name of the surface places Though, his question was meant to sound different. Of course they were on a beach, that much he could figure out for himself, but he wanted the name of the realm, the continent, and no doubt she knew it, surface dweller or not she still belonged to the realm. But she was not to be the only intelligent creature he would meet, so he didn’t bother clarifying the question for her.
“Typical for a drow.” His reply came harsh, his tone slightly changed, it sounded deeper than before and more aggressive. Before she could even notice, the concordant killer, made his way past her, taking a few steps along the beach before fully deciding to leave it behind. As he walked he would slowly change his appearance to that of a human, becoming shorter than initially was, the scarlet skinned changed its color to one of a normal human, slightly tanned, but not too much. The indigo vapors transformed as well and took the form of hair, and fell wildly over his shoulders, the silvery locks of hair letting themselves carried slightly by the breeze of the sea. His torso remained bare, as he was wearing only some sort of robes which were covering only his lower half as if it some sort of skirt usually wore by clerics.
He didn’t even glance behind to see the reactions in the woman’s eyes, he was slightly aggravated, his opinion that she could have been a good ally changed drastically. Who needed allies? He was better off on his own.
