Title: Midnight snack
Description: What a great title, eh? [Open to All]

Tyrande - March 9, 2007 01:37 AM (GMT)
Alulanta falls seemed magical that night. Isiltelpė shone brightly, with no clouds surrounding it. There were no clouds threating to darken the light Isiltelpė was sending to Arda. Alulanta falls whirred loudly and a cold wind blew through the dark woods near Alulanta. A flock of small birds seemed to abandon their temporarily resting place and continued their flight to the north. It was autumn and animals have already started they preparings for winter. Even though, half of them were asleep now, it was night time after all. Some of the night animals were outside, observing the silhouettes in the night.

If in a city or near a church, Tyrande would now hear the church bell ringing. Tyrande almost made to Alulanta falls. From Lake Aelin she traveled in direction of Alulanta falls. Tyrande wasn't sure what was her goal, maybe she wanted to explore the world? Revenge she has already gain, but still her hate for human race was intense. After killing her sons, she had her revenge by killing two human villagers. "'Eye for an eye.' As those filthy humans would say." That was Tyrande's `excuse“. Later on, she was sorry because she done that, it didn't help her a bit. She still felt great anger for humans and a great amount of sorrow about her lost sons.

A silhouette appeared from the dark woods. A white lupine stood in front of the path that lead back to the dark woods. The wind blew heavily, lupine's fur started fluttering on the wind, her gray cloak started swirling in air. Few leaves around the lupine started dancing in the air too. In her left paw she held an oaken staff which had some runes carved into wood. The runes were revealing her name, Tyrande. A token tied with some brown ribbon. The token represent her clan "Starseeker" and it showed a lupine chasing a star. Her black eyes were looking at one of the leaves that was swirling around her. She raised her head and granted a soft smile to the moon while saying silently "Hail Isiltelpė, my dear friend." Tyrande approached the Alulanta lake slowly and carefully, she wasn't sure if she was alone.

Tyrande slowly unbuttoned her cloak, carefully folded it and put it on the ground, in a shady area so nobody could steal it from her. On the cloak she slowly laid her staff. Her stomach demanded food, her last meal she had was a day ago. She felt mild pain in her stomach, probably an outcome of her not eating. She walked into the freezing cold water of the lake. As she walked into the lake, Tyrande was raising her arms, higher and higher and closed her eyes, while making a strange noise of discomfort. The expression on her face all curved up because of the cold. Few minutes past in silence, you could hear only a distant howl of a lonely wolf. Tyrande get used to the tempeture of the lake and was ready to catch some fish. She looked greedily at the water, waiting for a fish to move. Tyrande's arm went rapidly into the water, making it splashing the rest of her dry fur. She had an expression of victory on her face. But the fish was quicker than her, Tyrande felt it slipping out through her paw.

About 10 minutes later, Tyrande was sitting beneath a tree, already holding her staff, wearing her cloak and happily eating her snack. She has caught a Catfish, it wasn't very big, but at least it was a decent meal. Tyrande was surprised to found catfish living in such a cold lake. They usually nest in warm water and Tyrande has never caught a catfish in a lake as cold as Alulanta. Her eyes flew to the dark woods, as she has heard some rustling noise. She stopped eating for a moment and looked at the direction from which, she believed, the murmur came. Tyrande shook her head, closed her eyes and returned to her meal. As she chew the part of fresh, raw catfish she thought to herself. 'You old fool, the wind is just carrying leaves around.' She let a soft smile appear on her lips, she knew somebody was there.

Isiltelpė illuminated the end of the forest path and beginning of Alulanta and it's magnificent falls.

Vaul Felinate - March 9, 2007 03:28 PM (GMT)
"I think your senses are dulling with age my dear lady." A dark voice echoed throughout the night. "Either that or you are just too befuddled with stuffing your face."

A night cloaked figure dropped from a tree only a few yards away from where the twin-tailed wolf sat eating her freshly caught meal. Standing upright, the man who had approached so silently was an impressive figure. Tipping the scale at over six and a half feet tall and matching his height with respective power, the man known as Vaul Felinate was often held in awe by the other humans of Arda. Being of supposedly pure human blood, there were many characteristics about the man that seemed out of place. His size, his speed, his almost unnatural stealth for a human and his ability to read and hear the celestial bodies in the sky. Many often found him threatening... but that was not to be this night.

Throwing back his hood, Vaul stood there quietly laughing as he looked upon the Lupine infront of him; half-eaten fish in hand. "Now what would you have done if I had been a killer? Clubbed me to death with a fish?" Vaul jested with the wolf.

Normally, Vaul was a reclusive character, not given to friendly ways with people. But this was an exception... the female who sat before him was a leading member of his personal council within the Order of Istari.

Still quietly laughing, Vaul continued, "Are you content with your fish, my lady? Or would you prefer something with a bit more flesh? I have a camp not far from here with a freshly hunted stag just waiting to be roasted. What do you say?"

Tyrande - March 9, 2007 05:10 PM (GMT)
Tyrande heard a dark voice echoing in the night. Her paw just gripped the staff, ready to defend. Tyrande coldly continued eating, while she tried to understand the words that echoed through the forest. She opened her eyes, her eyes were now observing the area where the voice and the scent came. The voice sounded human. Tyrande spent enough time with human race and she has heard many of their conversations. An angry expression appeared on her face, but she still sat coldly, eating her meal. From her expression, you could see that she grows only hate for the human race. When the voice finished the second sentence, a maleficent smile appeared on her face. She was smiling to herself, then she replied "Foul creature. The direction of the wind. I knew you are here." She slowly turned her head from the fish and looked at the tree were human was hiding.

A cloaked human jumped down the tree and landed so softly that Tyrande was surprised. He seemed like he had unnatural stealth, but nobody can cheat the wind. Tyrande just sniffed the air and knew a human will join her soon, that's why she wasn't already in her defensive position. She looked at the man more carefully, as he was approaching her. He was tall as she was, which astonished her. She never saw a human taller than six feet. Tyrande felt unsure, she could attack her at any time. But he had a better opportunity few minutes ago, when she didn't had her staff in her paw. Tyrande didn't care if he would attack her, he seemed strong, but Tyrande had nature on her side. He threw back his hood and Tyrande could now see his face. He was laughing quietly, but still, Tyrande ears perked and could hear his laughter. He asked a question and she smiled to him maleficent once again. "What would I do? What do you think these are, a decoration?" Tyrande said to him, showing her teeth and raising her paw in the air. Sharp claws could be visible in the moonlight.

Tyrande was a member of Zodiac Council within Order of The Istari. This group she joined only because of it goal. They were trying to maintain old and sacred writings, trying to unlock secrets of the universe and exploring the night sky. She has never been to their hideout, a castle floating in the sky. Tyrande wanted to visit it in the near future. She has heard for this group from a wanderer, which also lend her a paper, quill and a feather, to write a note. When she wrote it, she returned back his belongings. Later, she sent a owl to bring the letter to the leader of this group. Few weeks later, she got the answer. She was now official member of Order of the Istari. Tyrande hasn't met the guildmaster and didn't know he was standing in front of her in this very moment.

Tyrande looked suspiciously at the man. She was quite hungry and this meal was only a "power-up". Her sense told her not to accept the offer, but her stomach won the battle. She said in her normal voice, which sounded deep and rough. "I would be delighted to eat your dinner. If you give me your word not to try anything." She wouldn't trust him anyway, even if he swore his mother grave onto it. Her stomach demanded food and it looked like it was talking through her mouth. Tyrande stood up, holding the fish in her mouth. She took the fish in her right paw and said to the man. "Lead the way, I am right behind you." Tyrande said. The moonlight illuminated both of the creatures, but the path to deeper part of the forest looked dark and gloomy.

Vaul Felinate - March 19, 2007 06:18 AM (GMT)
As Vaul began to speak again, he was already turning in the direction of his camp.

"You have my word dear lady. To attack you would be... detrimental to myself."

Vaul chose his words carefully. To put the lupine at ease, the words would be interpreted as though Vaul was concerned that he would not fair well if he was to attack her... in actuality though, the detrimental effect to Vaul would be a fight with one of the leading members of his Order before introductions had even been made.

Casting a quick look at the clear and gloriously illuminated night sky, Vaul listened for the distant voices of the stars. But it was not to be... yet. They had not spoken to him since they had informed him of where to find the wandering wolf. Vaul was in no doubt that he would hear them again soon... he was rarely alone anymore for long. Clearing his head, Vaul started towards the tree line.

"It is not far. Follow me." Vaul called back to Tyrande.

Vaul had no doubt that even if he and his new companion got separated, the lupine would still be able to follow his scent back to his camp. With that thought in mind, Vaul set off through the thick trees, heading away from the river's edge. The night was almost silent and so was Vaul. The only sounds that betrayed the blissful peace of the forest was the occasional crunch of a dried leaf and the gurgling of the distant falls. Vaul quickly arrived back at his camp and began to prepare the meat as he awaited his guest's arrival.

Tyrande - March 24, 2007 07:38 PM (GMT)
Tyrande took a bite from her meal, the fish in her mouth lost the taste almost completely. In her left paw, she was holding her staff, slightly leaning on it. Tyrande closed her eyes, letting out a soft sigh. She felt weakened, this was nothing compared to her usual meals. She was chewing slowly, it tasted like she was eating a wooden stick. 'Actually, a wooden stick tastes better than this.' Tyrande frowned, with her eyes still closed. She then threw the rest of the fish behind her back, you could hear a silent splash. The human moved. She could sense the wind slightly changing it's direction. Tyrande opened her eyes and gripped her staff. It seems like Tyrande will never feel safe in presence of humans.

They could not be trusted, Tyrande has heard and seen some terrible things. Son murdered his father, friend betraying a friend, husband cheating and lying to his wife, cutting down the forest for their "needs" or hunting animals for decoration. Tyrande was disgusted by the human race. But, there were few exceptions. Takezo, a human she met few days ago. He seemed like a noble and honourable man. She wasn't not sure, what to think about this man, he sneaked on her, he failed though, but he offered her his dinner.

After the man turned around and said something..interesting. Tyrande nodded in response, even though he has already turned his backs to her. But then Tyrande thought. 'Hmm, interesting. He either speaks the truth, which I doubt, or is so confident he thinks that I am so weak...but he said that like he really meant it. Either way, if he attacks me, he would not fair well.' She didn't know she would be fighting the leader of the Order she joined.

The man looked at the night sky, like the stars were talking to him. Tyrande thought that he could have some strange connection with the stars. But then she just smiled to herself and her foolish thought. She started following the man through the dark woods and he told her that they are close to his camp. Tyrande just walked slowly through the woods, leaning slightly on her staff, which she sometimes used as a walking stick. The man set off deeper in the woods and Tyrande couldn't see him anymore. But it wasn't worrying her, she could felt his scent and the leaves crunching under his feet.

Tyrande arrived at his camp, it was actually a small clearing in the forest. The man was preparing the meat, a freshly hunted stag. Tyrande put her staff besides her and layed on the ground, observing the man. "What is your name, human?" The question echoed through the dark forest. Tyrande waited for his response, while Isiltelpė smiled from above.

[ Sorry for the late reply & bad post :'( ]

Vaul Felinate - March 29, 2007 07:52 AM (GMT)
As Tyrande entered the camp Vaul was just laying the first piece of meat over the makeshift barbeque. Almost instantly the night became a wash with the inviting scent of cooking meat. The burning wood crackled and sizzled as the juices began to run off the meat and drop onto the glowing embers below.

Vaul placed a few more pieces over the fire before looking over to the female lupine. He was still sizing her up as an ally. Would she be trustworthy despite her obvious disdane for humans? Would she accept a human as her guildmaster and follow his orders? Her presence alone indicated that if she would accept the leadership of a human, she would prove to be a powerful ally in the fight for light.

"My name... is that so important? Would it make much difference to how you feel about us? Would you judge me any different were I named John, Jack or James? I do not believe so. You are a creature of habit. Stuck in your unfounded predjudices against a majority when you overlook the flaws and misdeeds that your own kind have oft perpertrated. You are lost in a sea of hate... and I am here to offer you a new path Tyrande.

Vaul intentionally used Tyrande's name, despite her never introducing herself. Vaul had been keeping close tabs on each of his new guild members for some time now, yet it was Tyrande who probably intrigued him the most. She was, much like himself, a lone spirit. Lost in a world of hatred towards humans; she closed herself off from others. Vaul related to this all to well. After the death of his beloved Allia, he had isolated himself in a world of hate and anger. It was only recently that he had re-opened his heart to the light of the world.
