Title: Going To Fight The Dragon of The West
Description: Dragon Slayers and Others Welcome.
Arthur Pendragon - March 5, 2007 10:30 PM (GMT)
Arthur had heard news and rumours of the infamous Dragon of The West finally coming out and spreading his evil across the west killing innocents that dared venture past the mountains and from the old forgotten city and he even plagued the Sanctuary of Angels. Arthur and many other dragon slayers had been called to deal with the threat of the Dragon. Arthur at first notice had taken off from a meeting with the Order of Istari and came here on his swift dragon wings. He had arrived at the appointed meeting place and had aquired the location of Arin'Dar or The Dragon of The West. He had found that he lay in this rainforest and that was his reason for being here. To slay the evil Dragon fo The West. He had on his studded leather armor along with his Lite Elven Sheild and his sword. He was prepared for the dragon if it came out from the forest and no doubt it would. His ears twitched at every sound making sure nothign snuck up on him before he got to the dragon. He looked around and smelled the air using his dragon senses to give the right direction for the dragon. His senses said east so he turned in that direction and went off towards that direction but nto to slowly because he had to get there to kill the beats. He heard a bus crunch behind him and Arthur spun his swor and sheild in front of him ready for an attack that might come.
The Last Saint - April 27, 2007 12:29 PM (GMT)
Lord Gabriel had been summoned by the Occupants of The Sanctuary to quell the beast tormenting there borders. He lay in the rainforest of the west was all the information he had been given, it was all that he needed. As he travelled by foot throughout the whole night, his two-handed sword resting upon his back his cloak blowing in the breeze as he ran forth. His hands cold from the freezing temperatures of the night, he blew into them every so often to try and keep them warm.
Leaping over a ditch he landed upon one knee, looking forward he viewed the forest he was about to enter. He took no hesitation the dragon was an evil creature one which needed to be put down. Running forth into the forest his body pushed aside the branches which hung in his path nothing deterring him from his goal. Finally he reached a clearing, he could smell the dragons sent his half demon half angel senses calling out to his mind. Taking forth his blade he held it straight stepping forward he shook his head at his next action, stepping forth his foot landed hard onto a branch snapping it in two. His head looked up to see some sort of miniature dragon. His sword was held strong in the main defensive position.
Arthur Pendragon - April 30, 2007 02:38 PM (GMT)
Arthur looked at the man who came out and said," You need to be carefull, this place ain;t one for people sneaking up on people". He smield and then said," So you must have been sent to kill the dragon then, good I might need a little help, Arin'Dar is probably one of the most dangerous dragons I'll meet, so it would be wise if we worked together". Arthru awaited the mans answer and wondered at why he asked his help.
Shelendri - May 16, 2007 05:23 AM (GMT)
There were some situations that called for cursing. This, to Shelendri's mind, was most definately one of them. So, as she fled through the rainforest, she let loose a few of the fouler ones she knew. Her curiousity seemed to be getting her into all sorts of trouble lately. She wondered breifly if something was wrong with it. There had to be, for it to lead her to a huge, evil, bent on killing anything that came its way, dragon in the middle of the rainforest. Well, it wasn't in the middle of it anymore. It was chasing her. She knew that because she could hear it.
Leaping over a low branch, she veer off to the side and the veer again. She was lucky, as this area of forest was tight, slowing the huge dragon down. She herself was in dragon form, but her dragon form was a lot smaller and lither than the dragon chasing her. She chosen that form as she'd known she had no chance of outrunning it as a human and a dragon was the first animal that had come to mind. And now she was stuck, as she didn't want to the take the chance that shape shifting into something else would slow her down. And the dragon would probably find her in another form, anyway.
The confines of the forest ment that she was grounded, but so was he. That was a plus. Now, if she could just loose him. Veering again, did her best to run fast. And then she came to a clearing. A clearing with two men in it. Digging her claws into the ground, she skidded to a halt, her chest heaving. Both looked like dragon slayers, and one, which she should have expected, was Arthur. She took a few deep breaths to regain her ability to speak. "You both might want to start running. Huge dragon coming."
Arthur Pendragon - May 16, 2007 01:05 PM (GMT)
As Arthru awaited the mans answer somethign else came crashing out of the forest it was a femlae dragon. Arthur almost turned his sword on the dragon until she said to watch out for a bigger dragon. He could tell this dragon was good but Arthur did not think this dragon was totally dragon but then again he could be wrong. He replied," Good he comes to his doom then". He sheathed his sword and went forward trying to find the dragon.
Shelendri - May 17, 2007 04:17 AM (GMT)
Seeing Arthur's move, she stepped in front of him. Yes, she knew he was a dragonslayer, but she'd seen the dragon and he hadn't. "Arthur, I don't think going in there to meet it would be a good idea. I did mention it was huge. And anyway, he's coming this way." She winced slightly when a loud, and angry, roar sounded from within the trees. "I seem to have made him angry. I don't think he likes shape shifters very much." She glanced over her shoulder as the crashing got closer. She doubted Arthur would back down from this and she couldn't very well leave him to fight the dragon with only one other person for help. She sighed and moved so she was standing beside him. And here she thought she was going to have a quiet day.
Arthur Pendragon - May 17, 2007 05:16 PM (GMT)
Arthur smiled and ," I know he is huge but the bigger they are the harder they fall". Soon a roar filled the forest and a huge black dragon crashed in front of him. Looking at both him and Shelendri. The dragon roared in ager and said," Dragon slayers and Shapeshifters are not welcome here begone or die". Arthur smiled he knew this dragon had no intention of lettign them go and he answered," You have crimes to answer for Arin'Dar and I Arthur Pendragon will make sure you answer them. He drew his sword and readied for the assault.
Shelendri - May 18, 2007 04:26 AM (GMT)
Shelendri started slightly when the black dragon suddenly burst out of the trees, though she'd been expecting it. Who wouldn't get a start when something that big, and that ugly, burst out of anything. She stayed where she was, though. There was no backing down, and with Arthur here, she felt more confident. After all, Arthur was a professional dragonslayer. He would have faced dragons like this before.
Her gaze flickered to him when he said the dragon's name. Arin'Dar. She'd heard that name before, but she couldn't remember where. Certainly when she'd been young. But thinking on that was for another time. Now there was a very large, very angry, and very evil dragon facing her and Arthur. Her nostrils twitched slightly when his breath reached her. Make that very large, very angry, and very evil dragon with terrible breath.
Shelendri flexed her wings. Well, if they were going to fight the brute, she needed to be ready for anything. Including an aerial assult. She knew that Arthur had a dragon form of his own, but that didn't mean she wouldn't carry him if the need came.
Arthur Pendragon - May 18, 2007 12:48 PM (GMT)
Arthur knew in this forest the dragon would be confined slightly to the ground which would give him an advantage in this fight but it made it hard for him to maneuvar for the dragons fire would catch anything here on fire. He said," Dance with me death Iam ready". He started to circle the dragon looking for a perfect opening the dragon followed him with his head but still kept an eye on the girl. This was a smart dragon and Arthur knew it. He waited and saw a momentary falter in the dragon and lept in as his sword went for the dragons neck. Of course the falter had been a trap as the dragons tail swept Arthur out from him. Arthur had the air pushed out of him as he tumpled to the ground. As he regained his composure he berated himself for being stupid. He then went to circling the dragon once more.
Shelendri - May 20, 2007 04:26 AM (GMT)
Shelendri jumped forward as Arthur was struck to the ground, thinking to protect him. When the dragonslayer regained his feet, she stilled and went back to watching the huge black dragon. The dragon had set a trap for Arthur, but he wasn't the only one. Snarling at the dragon to get his attention, she moved to the opposite side to the one Arthur was. Using her tail like a whip, she wacked the other dragon's wing. It roared at her and went for her, giving Arthur an opening. Shelendri made sure to stay just out of his reach, taunting him. She was half his size, so could move more freely through the trees than him. But she had to keep her wings tucked tight against her body, so as to keep them safe from being caught on branches.
The other dragon snapped at her tail when it got close to his jaws, but she quickly moved it out of the way. Now it was Arthur's move. She could only taunt the other dragon for so long before it blew fire at her, and set the forest to blaze.
Arthur Pendragon - May 22, 2007 10:15 PM (GMT)
When the opening came from his shapeshifting friends taunting Arthur went in and drove his sword into the dragons leg and ripped down through it and cutting his hamstring. The dragon roared in pain and looked at Arthru with extreme hate and said," I'll kill you for that little man". Arthur laughed and said," If I die you die with me". The dragons head came for him at great speed. Arthur put forth his sheild and was driven back into a tree by the foce of the hit. Arthur looked up stunned as the dragon was ready tp fry him alive.
Shelendri - May 23, 2007 03:55 AM (GMT)
Shelendri winced in sympathy as the black dragon slamed Arthur into a tree. That had to hurt. She gulped in a breath when she saw that the dragon was getting ready to breath fire at Arthur. There was no way he could survive a blast at that close range, and it would more than likely set the forest on fire. If the other dragon wanted to breath fire, then let him do it at her, in the air. Being smaller and lighter than him, she would be more manouverable in the sky than him. And her scales were thick enough to give her at least some protection from the black dragon's flames.
Racing forward, she used her tail to grab Arthur and raced for the clearing. She heard the black dragon's roar of rage at her taking his victim out of the range of his flames, but she didn't bother to look back. He'd come after, she was sure of it. Depositing Arthur on her back, she did look back at him. "Looks like it's time to move this fight into the sky. He'll set the whole forest to flame otherwise."
Reaching the middle of the clearing, she opened her wings and pushed off with her powerful back legs. Beating her wings, she headed for the clouds. It looked like the clouds held rain, which would be helpful. Because while rain dampened flame, it conducted lightning. That was, if the rain started falling soon. But the clouds would give good cover anyway.
Arthur Pendragon - May 23, 2007 07:54 PM (GMT)
Arthur had hoped the shapeshifter would interfere. He thought the other person had probably ran away in fright or either already succombed to the dragon. When they were in the air Arthur remebered somethign very important about this dragon. He was craftier and deadlier in the air than on the ground but Arthur lnew what to do either way. He saw the giant black dragon hurtling toward them and Arthur said." Summon Lightning". In an instant lightinign went toward the dragon who barely rolled away from the strike slwoing down his momentum. Arthur said to the shapesifter," Get me to his wings that way we can clip him".
Shelendri - May 24, 2007 03:52 AM (GMT)
Shelendri found the fact that Arthur could do magic, or at least one spell, interesting. And also interesting that the spell he had was one she also used. It also gave her an idea. The black dragon seemed not to like lightning, so he wasn't going to like what came out of her mouth. Banking to the left, she opened her mouth and shot a sheet of lightning at him. He dodged, but one bolt struck his wing. In response, he blew flames at her. Back flipping out of the way, she headed heigher. She needed as much hight as possible to dodge his flames.
She heard Arthur's request for her to get him to the dragon's wings and she nodded. "Just give me a minute. I'll have to get into his blind spot." Seeing as directly behind herself was her blind spot when her head was facing forward, she guessed it would be the same for him. She heard a loud rumble overhead. It looked like the rain had finally come. "Well, finally."
She continued to the clouds. If she could disappear in them, she could sneek up into his blind spot. The clouds then released their load. The force of the rain nearly had her falling. She'd never been this close to rainclouds during rain and as rain over rainforests is always strong, the force of the water striking her body was increadible. The only satisfaction she found in it was that the other dragon was having as much trouble as she was. "Hold on Arthur!" With one last great beat of her wings, she broke through into the clouds. Here the water was caught up in them, so she was free of the rain. Twitching as much as she dared to shake the water off, she banked and sped toward the area she'd already decided on to drop out of the clouds.
Reaching it, she dropped back down into the rain and looked around. Luckly enough, she'd come down in the right spot. Flying fast, she headed for the dragon. "We'll need to do this fast, so be ready." And then they were just above the other dragon's left wing. "Now!"
Arthur Pendragon - May 24, 2007 01:22 PM (GMT)
Arthur was suprised by the shapeshifters manevarbilty and ability to shoot a breath weapon. HE smield and knew that this would be alot easier than usual. He waited till the proper moment and he jumped at the correct moment and his sword slasshed the dragons wings, or it would have if the dragon hadn't banked at the last second. Arthrus sword had the desired affect none the less for there was huge gash all along the wing. The dragon roared in pain as he started to pluummet to the ground but regained himself and began to fly himself toward a falling Arthur. Arthur brought forth his draconic wings and swooped himself away before the dragon hit him. The dragon looked at him with more fury and he said," A kinslayer you are the kinslayer Dar'vaeg". Arthurs anger flared and said," I am no kinslayer I only slay evil dragons such as you and now you are mine". He was right for this would open up an attack for his shapeshifter ally.
Shelendri - May 27, 2007 05:33 AM (GMT)
When Arthur leapt from her back, Shelendri quickly rose further into the air to keep herself out of the range of the other dragon's jaws. She watched, her heart pounding, as Arthur slashed deeply into the dragon's wing, sending both of them plummeting toward the forest far below. She prepared herself to dive to save her friend, when the black dragon recovered himself and Arhtur amazingly srouted wings. Shelendri shook her head. She doubted she should find that amazing. After all, he was half dragon.
When the black dragon called Arthur a kinslayer, she felt anger rise up inside her. This evil creature, who preyed on innocents, dared called a man such as Arthur such a vial thing. She saw an opened and, tucking her wings in to send herself into a dive, she took it. She didn't even bother to flare them when she reached the dragon, simply crashed into his back. The impact was bone jarring and sent the other dragon plummeting once again for the ground.
The black dragon did his best to shake her, rolling in the air, attempting to lash at her with his tail, and trying to grab onto her with his jaws. He manged to grab hold of the edge of one of her wings and bit down on it, but she ignored the pain. Mindful of how fast they were falling toward the ground, she bit into the base of his wing and yanked as hard as she could. He let go of her own wing to roar with the pain, but she didn't let go until she heard and felt the wing rip. Then she released the wing and used her back legs to push off.
Her wing complained as she flew up, but she kept at it. Then she turned her head to watch the black dragon crash into the trees. Banking to the left, she flew over to Arthur. "Do you want to lead the way down there, or shall I? Nice wings, by the way."
Arthur Pendragon - May 28, 2007 03:04 AM (GMT)
Arthur smiled at the shapeshifter and said," My friend you ain't seen nothing yet". He then flew toward the felled dragon his sword drawn and wondered at wh ythis had turned so eays, Arin'Dar should be more of a challenge or so Arthur had heard. Arthur landed at the side of the dragon who appeared to be knocked out by the fall and Arthur then knew somethign was wrong. He said," By the Gods its a trap". The dragon rolled over and swung its mighty head toward Arthur ctaching him in its maw and Arthur had only but one choice then or else he would die. He began to use dragon song to lull the dragon. Sooon the dragon dropped him from his maw and Arthur then used the rest f the song to let the dragon back awy. Then he stopped and the dragon looked ta ARthur with even more nager and Arthur said," Alright you want me you got me, lets see what your really made of Arin." Then dragon rose and smield and said," You figured me out, smart little dragon slayer, you and I werent fighting in our true way lets see how you deal with the real me". The dragon then used his fire breath on his ripped wing and in its plase was a firey wing and as the dragon used his dragon magi, Arthru was amazed that he could do this. The dragon the nstood bigger and prouder a more formiddable opponetn. Arthur said," Now you show your true collors, let me show mine. Arthur then called on the dragon inside him and soon before the black dragon stood a tall blue dragon like creature, the true form of what a half-dragon was capable of and Arthru said," Lets end this game". The two dragons then started to fight, Arthru being the smallest had a speed advantage while, the big dragon had power.
(Break in any time you like, I just wanted to make it harder for my character)
Shelendri - May 29, 2007 04:01 AM (GMT)
Shelendri glided while she watched Arthur decend toward the falled Arin'Dar. Figuring he would be able to finish things by himself, she moved her eyes away from him to check the damage to her wing. She'd been lucky. It wasn't so bad as to force her body to return to human form, which would have meant falling to her death. Either way, she would need to land and shape shift back before her body did it for her while she was still in the air.
She lowered her gaze to the ground to pick out a good spot to land. Her gaze fell on Arthur and the black dragon, which didn't seem as fallen as she had thought. It was back on its feet, with a fire wing in place of the one she had ruined. She readied herself to dive down there to help her friend, when he surprised her yet again by transforming into a tall blue dragon-like creature. She had an urge to huff out a breath. He could have at least told her that he was able to do that.
Tucking her wings in against her body, she sent herself diving toward them. Arthur probably needed help, and she needed to get to the ground. Flaring her wings a few metres above the ground, she landed and returned to her own form. Now she would be able to use her magic. Drawing her sword, she ran toward the two fighting dragons.
She stopped a few metres away and judged her timing. Seeing an opening, she raised her hand, palm pointed at the side of the black dragon and spoke the word Lasair. An arrow made of flame shot from her palm and impacted in the dragon's side. She smiled slightly to herself. "You're not the only one who can use fire."
Arthur Pendragon - May 30, 2007 12:49 AM (GMT)
The dragon then turned away from Arthur and looked at the shapeshifter who was now in human form and Arthur said," Move or you will be killed". The dragon roared and went for the shapeshifter and Arthur shot fire breath at the dragon hitting it right on the head. The dragon once more turned to him but this focused on both opponents. Arthur knew he had to end this in a better way than he was doign now. His dragon form was a strong match for the dragon before him but that didn't mean he would win. Arthur had but one choice on what to do and he said," SHelendri attack from the left I'll hit the right and watch his tail". Arthur dove past the dragons teeth and struck at the dragons side his talons grating against the dragons scales.
Shelendri - May 30, 2007 04:24 AM (GMT)
The arrow of flame had mostly the desired affect, though it turned the black dragon's attention to her. She quickly moved back, then stopped when Arthur told her to attack from the left. She nodded and ran forward, as Arthur struck front the right. The dragon's attention turned to the one attacking him, giving her an opening. She shot off another flame arrow, and then one of ice. Arin'Dar's attention, however, was still on Arthur. It seemed having his side gauged was more painful than her attacks.
Dodging his tail as it lashed past her, she concentrated all her attacks on one spot at the base of the dragon's neck. Adding a few lightning bolts, she started breaking through the dragon's scales. Caaling up so many spells started to wear her down, and she knew she'd have to stop. She decided on one final Summon Lightning spell, and then she would attack with her sword. Tightening her grip on the sword's hilt, she darted forward and ramed it into the wound through the scales she'd made.
