Title: Heart of ice
Kitsu-Chan - March 1, 2007 05:25 PM (GMT)
Ashi had wandered from many places to other, much more interesting places, but this was by far the opposit. It was the pits. She looked around her and saw nothing but endless streaches of sand for miles around her, and not even a spot of civilisation. It was a pity she was only technically dead, otherwise the heat and long tired walking wouldn't bother her, but Kitsu really had to pass out from the heat right in the middle of the desert where there was nobody else around for miles. Ashi climed a shallow sand dune and looked out over the top, seeing nothing different. She looked up at the sun, high above her reflecting in her red eyes and causing her to feel extremely hot.
Once of her ears twitched and she span round, hand reaching for the long, thin blade on her belt. She had heared somebody coming, weather they were hostile or not Ashi didn't care, but if they knew the closest way out then she'd be more than glad of them, but if they weren't friednly then they'd get more than they bargined for.
"Okay, who are you?" She asked briskly "what are you doing here?"
She glared down, half expecting a fight.

This heat was almost killing Winter, if she didn't have an ice elemental half to keep herself cool she might have collapsed already but it was still taking out as much punishment as it could. Winter staggered forwards and almost tripped over, a hand grabbed her right shoulder which had a series of bandages wrapped around it. She stopped and rested before finishing off what little water she had. Once she finished she looked up and saw a sand dune in the distance, maybe if she managed to climb to the top she might be able to see above it and maybe find the quickest way out of the desert.
She half ran towards it, forgetting the heat and consentrated on getting to the sand dune before she passed out from the heat. However once she arrived and looked up she saw that there was already another person there, they turned round and saw her. Winter looked up and half sheilded her eyes from the sun, from what she could see the figure was female, with red eyes and cat-like ears sprouting from her head, Winter also noticed a thin black sword hanging from, her belt which her hand was waving around dangerousley.
"My name is Winter," Winter replied straightening up "and as far as I can tell, exactly the same as you."
She reached up for her katana with one hand, just in case this stranger was about to attack her, she noticed that she looked uneasy and was prepared to defend herself, and Winter wasn't going to let her own guard down either.

Ashi's eyes immediatly darted down to the figure, she was half angel for sure, the wings gave it away, and she didn't look best suited to the environment. With a closer look, Ashi noticed that one arm had a bandage wrapped around the shoulder, concealing some form of wound from sight. Ashi thought about it wuickley and wodered if it might give her an advantage.
"Winter, hm," she muttered "well then, you may call me Ashi."
Her eyes suddenly darted to Winter's other arm, reaching for her katana. Ashi's eyes narrowed and she looked Winter straight in the eye.
"Or, you may call me your opponent."
She drew her blade and held in backwards in her hand before she leapt down the sand dune, sliding over the sand on her feet, and made a wild slash at Winter's face.

Winter saw the move coming, Ashi's eyes had darted over to her weapon and then back to her with a venomous look in her eyes had given her away before she began her strike. Winter had drawn her katana as fast as she could and held it up to block Ashi's strike. She looked at the blade and noticed that she held it backwards rather than forwards. Winter took the oppertunity to measure Ashi's speed and streagh before she stepped to the side and broke the contact between the two blade, she made an aimed slash at Ashi's back and drew her other Katana, holding it in her right arm despite the injury.
