Title: A moment on the lake
Description: Private: Seth
Umbra - February 26, 2007 10:12 PM (GMT)
The lake side was quiet save the birds that were singing. A lone girl sat on the soft sand at the lake side. Her long black hair moved in the breeze as she watched fish jump up from the lake. The sun shone brightly on the spring morning, clouds drifted smoothly and slowly across the sky as she leaned back and braced herself with her arms. The day was calm, for now. At least she had time to think about what she was going to do. Meeting her father, the attacks on the villages, everything was adding up to something she did not want to believe but was all too willing to admit. But that was not her problem at the moment, she had to stay firm and aware if she would ever make it to the next lunar month.
She looked up and closed her eyes as she felt the warmth of the sun on her face. So long had she wanted to just sit down and relax, she pushed the thoughts of what was happening aside and let the moment take over. She perked up suddenly as she senced something. She placed her hand on the ground and let the image form in her mind, someone was here. She got up and turned to where the smell was coming from. "Who is there?" she said.
Seth - February 26, 2007 10:34 PM (GMT)
Running with his dagger in hand marking every tree he passed was Seth. He was marking an exact path of the tallest trees he could fine from his starting point till he got to the water from the lake. His intention was to be able to trace it whenever he was there again so he could know exactly which was to take that would have the tallest trees to goup and see what was happening around the area. He marked hundreds of them and didn't stop untill he got very close to the water from the lake. Seth saw a girl just looking at the water, she seem to be in compleat peace. Seth went up the highest tree he saw there and sat on a branch to look at the girl. She looked like nothing was wrong, all the trubles in her world had vanished in the blink of an eye and she looked at peace through the water.
Seth watched her for a while just looking as she was in peace. He was enjoying the Beautiful site with a beatuful girl that didn't even know he was there. If she didn't seem to calm and together for herself Seth would have walked up to talk to the girl but he didn't want to take her time of relaxation away from her. There were fish in the water and it looked as if the girl was watching them and by going over he would have also scared them, that was the last thing on his mind. She might have even left if he want over No one wants a compleat stranger to be with you in the middle of no where Seth thought to himself. He didn't bother to go talk to the girl.
While Seth watched the girl he heard a crack. What's that? Seth asked himself. Just as it got quiet again, the whole branch Seth was on came crashing down with Seth on it. The long branch falling down and didn't make a sound when hitting the ground. Seth on the other hand made alot of noise on his way down from the top of a tree. He hit the ground, slowly picking himself up he hid behind the tree when the girl looked over. "Who is there?" He heard being asked. Seth walked out from behind the tree where he could be seen be the girl and then leaned on the tree. "A compleat stranger!" Seth said with a smirk on his face looking at the ground.

Umbra heard the loud thump as something hit the ground, she got up and rolled over standing up. She really was not surprised when she saw someone get up and less surprised when he said "A complete stranger!" She looked him over, he seemed a little strange to her but she really was not one to say anything herself, many looked at her like she was a freak.
She shook her head, "Well considering the way you snuck up on me I already assumed that. But anyways...Names Umbra, you are? And you are?" she asked crossing her arms in front of her, he had to be kidding, his sarcasm was definately obvious. The sun beat down on the pair as she waited for him to say his name.
Seth - February 27, 2007 02:41 AM (GMT)
Seth lifted his head and looked at the girl, she was perfect. "Hmm, yep. So Umbra is it?" He said while taking one step forward from the tree and then turning to Umbra. He started walking up to her and then stop right in front of here about two feet in distance between eachother. He looked her up and down, from close she looked better than she did from far and that is something he liked.
Seth put both his hands behind his head and looked up taking one step back. "The name is Seth. Why exactly are you here, Umbra? Shouldn't you be at home cooking for some almost lucky guy?" He said with a tone of surpiriority.
Seth looked back at Umbra and started walking up to her again and then turned and started walking around her. While walking around her Seth once again looked her up and down. "Yep, so what did you say you were doing here?" He asked her again. "This isn't the usual place to see a girl like yourself!" He told her while he stoped infront of her again and stared dead at her.
Umbra - February 27, 2007 02:32 PM (GMT)
The mysterious stranger looked at her, "Hmm, yep. So Umbra is it?" he said walking up towards her, stopping about two feet in front of her. He obviously was not very slick, at least in her opinion. But the proof he gave was not very good. Falling from a branch, sarcasm after almost scaring her, yup. He was definately one to be slick.
The man looked her over, apparently either really disappointed that the person who chalanged him was a female or impressed for some reason. He put his hands behind his head and looked up stepping back. "The name is Seth. Why exactly are you here, Umbra? Shouldn't you be at home cooking for some almost lucky guy?" he said with a tone of superiority that worked at a nerve. It was more of the way he said it then what he said. "Well I would do that except: one, I have no almost lucky guy; two, I really prefer the life on the road than the life on a house." she said with an equal tone of agitation.
Seth apparently was one who thought highly of himself. He looked back at her and walked around her, looking her over. She really wanted to teach him about respect, but she knew better. And she had more things to worry about, "Yep, so what did you say you were doing here?" he asked. "Not much. Just enjoying the day, did not know that was illegal." she said a little ticked. She had to focus on her plan but she never got any ideas on how to make it work. "This isn't the usual place to see a girl like yourself!" he said. That definately got him her half smile, "What type of girl are you talking about? The half demon type or just a girl in general?" she asked. That definately got her nerves working. It was easy to control it but she still was a little upset about it.

Seth looked at her and when she started talking he raised his eyebrow to how she was talking, the he simply smiled at her for what she said."That's interesting because you seem like one that would be able to get guys in a flash. Maybe you just don't want to have some random guy walking around you, or are you just one of the special girls that thinks to be better than men? To top that one off being outside isn't always the best thing you can do, i'd expect you to know that. After all, you are a "woman" so you should know a thing or two." He said his voice getting into a smart tone.
Seth started looking up again paying no more attention to Umbra as if he was God over her then turned around while looking up. He walked over to the tree where he was when he saw her and leaned against it once more. "No one ever said it was illigal, I don't know where you are getting those crazy ideas. But it should be illegal for such a nice girl like ourself to walking in a place like this all by yourself. We wouldn't want you to get hurt." He kept talking like if he was highly above her and then stop the tone to talk to her normally.
"Sorry for the tone, i'm just really bored and have nothing else to do. SO! Your here and so am I, so how about I give you some company. Would that be okay with you, Umbra? It should be, I mean being that there is no one here and i'm not leaving. Unless you plan on doing so you are stuck with me." He tried to get into good basis with her to see if they could talk or something relative. He doesn't talk much and when he does, he does. He was taking this chance to talk to both person and girl. Neither one happened for a while.
Umbra - February 28, 2007 09:24 PM (GMT)
Umbra noticed the man raised an eyebrow at her words, "That's interesting because you seem like one that would be able to get guys in a flash. Maybe you just don't want to have some random guy walking around you, or are you just one of the special girls that thinks to be better than men? To top that one off being outside isn't always the best thing you can do, i'd expect you to know that. After all, you are a "woman" so you should know a thing or two." She easily heard him trying to be smart with her, she wanted to smack him there but held back.
Umbra did not bother commenting, he was not listening anyways. "No one ever said it was illigal, I don't know where you are getting those crazy ideas. But it should be illegal for such a nice girl like ourself to walking in a place like this all by yourself. We wouldn't want you to get hurt." he said. That got her, "Well considering people look down on half demons, as you are right now. I would not be surprised if someone thought it was illegal for me to be here." she said, "And I can take care of myself, after all...I have taken care of myself since I was three." she said.
Suddenly he gave a sigh, "Sorry for the tone, i'm just really bored and have nothing else to do. SO! Your here and so am I, so how about I give you some company. Would that be okay with you, Umbra? It should be, I mean being that there is no one here and i'm not leaving. Unless you plan on doing so you are stuck with me." Apparently he was making fun of her because he was bored. She really wanted to move away, something about him made her uncomfortable. Then she realized it. The sweet smell she had off of him was what gave it away. "Your a half-angel aren't you?" she said then shrugged, "Not like it matters or I care. Just surprised that anyone with angel blood in them would be so rude. But your welcome to stay...Not like I havent been alone with company before." she said.
Seth - March 1, 2007 03:15 AM (GMT)
Seth laughed at how she made all her thoughts as if it were against her race. Seth couldn't have less of a clue that she was half demon for her to be saying all that stuff as it it was, and she kept it going none the less. He didn't really care what race she was, to Seth it was all the same. If you have rational thought and still talk like you don't know anything, that goes down as compleatly stupid and that was most of the people that Seth came in contect with. That's what made his personality so into putting others down or being better, it was always some compleatly unknowing jack to talk to him. But Umbra didn't seem like the rest of the people. She was different somehow.
"Are all the words to come out of your mouth something about others against your race? I guess it's a good excuse to be a baby about everything but is it smartto use it?" Seth asked talking about how everything out of her mouth sofar was about how people put down half demons. Seth couldn't help but smile at everything she was to say, it was so funny to him that she thought as everything racial.
The silence went away as soon as Umbra asked him a question. She asked if Seth was a Half angel. Seth himself didn't know anything about his past and he thought to be simply a human. He did everything else like humans and ever lookedl ike them so there was his reason for being human and nothing more. " Sorry but i'm not a Half-Angel. Though it would be nice to be, maybe I could just fly everywhere." He said. At the ame time he said it Seth imagined himself flying over the Forest finding the exact stop he wanted to be in and just staying there till he felt like leaving. "But then again everything would be to easy and there would never be the challange of walking out of somehwere when I could just as easily fly." He said changing his opinion about being an angel or half. Seth walked over right next to where Umbra was sitting before and sat down.
Umbra - March 1, 2007 08:29 PM (GMT)
Umbra crossed her arms and gave Seth her half smile when he spoke about her talking about her race. She let that slide, he was right, she did talk about it a lot. She looked over the trees, beyond the lake at the faded mountians in the distance. They looked like a back drop, as if someone was painting a picture of a lake and they were in it. She sighed, taking in the warmth of the sun.
Seth seemed uncertian about her question, " Sorry but i'm not a Half-Angel. Though it would be nice to be, maybe I could just fly everywhere." she smiled. In all honesty she could fly, she learned how to from an air elemental. But there were many times she could have just flown away, and those times she stayed and walked. Those were the times she had found friends. She could have taken off when she met Shadow, but she would never have known about his family. She could have flown away during her battle with Zenith, but she would have never made him a friend. "But then again everything would be to easy and there would never be the challange of walking out of somehwere when I could just as easily fly." She nodded. "I can fly, but there are many times when I could easily escape by flying and I do not. Guess that comes with the knowledge that the easy way is just that, easy. There is nothing rewarding about taking an easy way out. I know that for certian." she said with a smile.
Seth - March 3, 2007 03:38 AM (GMT)
Seth looked at Umbra and then looked in the direction she ws looking. The whole sight was beautiful. The trees matchoing perfectly wih their reflection of the clear water. The sun at the perfect angle making the water spark with the reflection of the trees and sun. The sky blue and filling in everything that wasn't already green with the trees. The sight was nothing but beautiful and perfect. "Nice spot you chose to sit at" He said giving a comment to her choice and by doing so the sight aswell. A small brease passed by miving Seth's hair around to the winds path.
He listened as Umbra talked about her flying and how she doesn't always do it. She had good reasons to walk it out and notfly sometimes but those were not the same reasons Seth would use. Easy is always the best way to go when it comes to Seth. His reasons for wanting to fly were to take the easy way out. If the whole world could be easy and fun at the same time then Seth would be living the greatest life and be the happiest man alive. But the world wasn't. His reasons for not flying were only fun. If something was not fun, he would make sure to make it. Alteast for himself.
"I would like to say I have the same reasons as you but I don't. I would love to fly just o make everything easier. I could get away from a fight, I could be in the silence of the sky. Everything would be fine. But if I knew I could fly I would do it whenever I had a chance and that would take some fun out of life. By not flying I can walk places and meet people which I would not be able to do if I could fly because I wouldn't be able to control myself to stay away from the flying." He told Umbra his reason for flying and his reasons for not. It was a topic the well suited the location they were at. The only thing missing in the betiful place was one or two birds flying by.
