Adya - February 18, 2007 06:30 PM (GMT)
Adya staggered under the weight of the pile of books. She couldn't help it, she always got greedy when it came to libraries. All that knowledge just sitting there, waiting to be found. She must have cleared out at least half of one of the long bookshelves that sat in ordered rows across the library. She had made multiple trips and now the table she had claimed was cluttered with book piles taller then her head. She felt a book fall off the top of her stack as she shifted the pile onto the table. Too busy moving to grab the dropped book to check that the pile was steady on the table, she was already bent over to grab the book when the pile fell. Book after book dropped, hitting other piles and creating a domino effect as they fell. Adya pulled her arms up to cover her head and crouched under the pressure of the books. When they finally settled she relaxed and climbed half out of the mess. Oww.. she thought and let out a tired sigh.

Silvaris - February 25, 2007 07:01 PM (GMT)
Lothemadel began to laugh as the books fell on the nymph. "It seems you can use some asstinance. My name is Lothemadel, summoner and soon to be guildmaster." He spread out his wings and strechted out loftly. "Ummm, I need to ask you something. Do you have any books on summoning in that massive pile. I'm not really in the mood to go searching in this massive library. And just for the information, The Order of the Istari is open for new recruits. Tell all your friends"

Adya - February 26, 2007 01:09 AM (GMT)
Adya looked up and smiled. Her eyes couldn't help but drift to his wings. Such an awesome sight. Catching herself at the last minute, she remembered to pay attention to what he was saying. A book of summoning? She thought she had one in here somewhere. Of course, there was the matter of finding it. She motioned for him to wait a minute and began to sift through the pile. While she searched for the book she also grabbed a few loose sheets of parchment. Once she had found a book or wo of summoning, she pulled out a sick of charcol and wrote something out on one of the sheets of parchment. Adya put the charcol to the side and handed him the sheet and books. The note read "Pleasure to meet you. I'm Adya. What is The Order of the Istari?" She began stacking he books back up, on he floor this time, while he read.

(Sorry if there are T's missing. My keyboard's acting up.)

Silvaris - February 28, 2007 01:37 AM (GMT)
"Why, the Order of the Istari is a guild I am forming working towords the benefit of the stars. I adore the summoning aspect of magic." he said, grabbing the text and reading the note. "Ummmmm, I am asuming that you are mute, correct? If you dont mind, would mind sharing with me why. But if it is a thing you dont wish to talk about, its fine." Lothemadel said with a grin.

Philo was fast asleep on a dusty tome titled "monsters and lore" when he woke with a start at the feeling of someone brushing his back as they passed. he shook his head briefly to chase away the urge to go back to sleep. That was the first time he had slept in the past four days. He was not an insomniac, it was just that their was never enough time in the day to get everything done. He was just doing a bit of light reading when he dosed off. The book gave a loud thump as he slammed it shut with both hands. He then grabed a stack of papers the served as scratch notes and tapped them against the table top to ensure taht they were in a nice even stack. Then looked the table over for any other books that he had gathered that might have grabbed his interest, their were none. So he decided to hit the shelves to grab somthing else. Something in golems might be interesting he thought as he stroked the wooded shelf with his index finger, examining the spines of passing books. after a few minutes, he gave up the search and began another one for a librarian for assistance.

Philo returned to the table when he found what he wanted. According to the librarian that he talked to these, books had some refference to golems, but nothing extensive. He set all the books on the table and made his way to his seat at the other side . He had about seven books in all and they all were titles on magical construction and protection. He then took an hour or two to sift through all the books and mark the pages that mentioned golems. Golems , to philos knowlegde, were powerful being made by wizards for protection. Even though he was little more then an apprentice, he hoped to make one someday and was ready to take all the steps required to do so.

Philo found himself drooling on a book a few hours later. He groaned in disgust at his own weariness. He then grabed his spellbook and departed. Deciding that the library attendant's can clean up his mess, that is what they were paid to do right?. He gandered at the simple glamour of his spellbook as he passed through the large wooden doors. It was tradition at his guild that apon graduation a wizard is to recieve his first spellbook. This spell book was given to him by his mentor as a parting gift, though it was large in binding, it had very few written spells in it. He fingered through the blank pages and sighed...His next stop would be the shops. A true wizard needs decent equiptment he thought.

Adya - March 3, 2007 04:57 PM (GMT)
Adya straigtened the stack she was working on and began writing on another sheet of paper. "I'm not sure as to what you mean by mind sharing. You might need to explain it a bit more, but as long as there's no digging too deep in my head, I don't see any problem with it." She handed over the note and stood, surveying her work. Hopefully the piles wouldn't be falling over again. She saw the man leave with all of his books still on the table and frowned. He could have at least put them away first. Not that she was sure she would be able to put all of hers away... She'd deal with it when it came to that. "So what is this mind sharing thing?" She wrote.

The Knight Protector - March 3, 2007 09:42 PM (GMT)
In a chair in the reading section of hte library, black curly hair sticking up from the back of his seat, sat the inestimable Knight, Sir Mandorallen. He wore no armor, having decided that there were not likely to be many deadly foes at the library. Mandorallen wore his customary deep blue doublet and black, loose fitting hose. He had his feet propped up upon the ottoman that the Parmamar had provided for those who chose their reading quarters. The chair he sat on was a dark red velvet one, the ottoman matching. In his hands he held a book on swordsmanship, turning the crackling pages eagerly and absorbing every single word. His traveling cloak was draped over the right armrest of the chair. Although he did not wear his armor, his heavy bladed broadsword leaned against the cloak, supported by the armrest. The oil lamp by which he read had been freshly filled and it bathed the area in a smooth golden light. The Knight had no intentions on getting up any time soon, but when the crash rang out through the building, he started and rose to his feet. He scanned the room with those two sapphire eyes and found that a girl had fallen under a very large amount of books. She made no noise yet slowly rose to her feet. The Knight moved over to help her but got distracted when a man began to laugh at her.

Ever the chivalrous one, Mandorallen began to gather in a challenge and doubled his fist in case things heated up. He started towards the man but stopped abrubtly when the offender offered the girl his aid. Dropping his remark and relaxing his fist, he let his fingers open up and he watched. Briefly, his eyes noted somebody asleep on some literature. He looked to see if the girl was alright. She seemed to be. She and the laugher had engaged themselves in coversation. The man asked a great many questions and the girl simply wrote her answers on a sheet of parchment.
'Methinks mine eyes do percieve a mute, I wonder whether this aversion to speaking stems from a concsious choice or rather from some dreadful malady.' he thought to himself. He walked over to the area where they stood, the books still lying in a heap. She was picking some up as she listened, pausing only to write out a suitable response. As the Knight reached the pile he locked his blue eyes onto her.
'"Pardon mine intrusion milady, but mine chivalrous nature doth not permit me to stand or sit idly by and watch a woman work when I couldst offer my hand. I feel inclined hence to offer thee mine aid, foreasmuch as I admire your drive to work, I feel obliged to at least offer to lift such a burden from such slender shoulders. Wilt thou permit me to aid thee?" he asked her seriously.

Adya - March 4, 2007 04:02 AM (GMT)
No sooner had she handed over the sheet then another stranger approached. Judging by his dress and manner of speech, she marked him as some sort of knight or at the least, someone who intended to become one. Since she had already handed over the sheet she had been using to Lothemadel, Adya pulled out another sheet and began writing a sutible response. "That's a gracious offer. I think you may be unprepared for what you're getting into. You have seen the sea of books around us?" Catching herself before she handed the paper over, she added "You can call me Adya." She smiled with amusement as she gave him the paper. He certainly was an ineresing fellow. She turned toward Lothemadel, remembering she had asked for more information on this "mind sharing" idea of his.

Philo again walked through the large wooden doors of the great library, the days events still in his mind. He decided to leave the situation in the care of the patrolman. He did not want to get involved on the count of it might be benifitial to him to mind his own business, as it is in most situations involving street riff-raff. He walked to the table he sat at previously and was relieved that the books were still their, he would not have to go and collect them again. he sat down and looked around the room to notice a noble young man speaking with a young lady a table away. From the immediate impression, he appeared to be flirting. Philo looked down at his books chuckling at the mans intentions but then decided to watch the two interact with each other. He often found human behavior interesting. The young women then handed the noble a piece of paper, this he found strange. He was puzzled the notion. Did they know each other on a personal note? he waved his hand disregardingly at the assessment and got back to work. This would most likely be another night in which he would have to sleep in the library, he was not proud of the fact that he was homeless but rarely did anyone say anything to him. His parents were the ones who supplied him with the funds to get himself though wizard training, and he was proud of that alone so he lied to his parents saying that he was staying with a friend wwho agreed to let him stay for an extended amount of time. He would hate for his mother to worry about him. he did not expect pity form any one but he would appreciate a hand out every once in a while. Hmmmmm...he looks rich. he thought looking at the noble. He wondered

Silvaris - March 4, 2007 03:18 PM (GMT)
Lothemadel glanced at the knight who began conversation with the Adya. Then, replying to Adya, "I would just appreciate it if you spread the word of the opening of the Order of the Istari. Ask any of your friends or family if they would be interested in joining." Lothemadel then turned back at the noble knight standing next to him. "Nice to meet you....what is your name, sir? I am Lothemadel, wizard and conjurer." He moved his white staff from one hand to the other, then outstreching his hand towords the knight. He smiled polietly at him, eagerly waiting the response of this chilvaric man.

Cron_Lv17 - March 4, 2007 10:08 PM (GMT)
Philo got up and casually moved to the table that held the small gathering. His staff and other belongings he left at the table. He was not in a palce of desperation nor did he want to be rude but it had been a while since he had a half decent meal. He had beenliving off a soup kitchen for the homeless that served nothing more then broth and slice of bread and a warm blanket to all that came. This was run by the church and he did enjoy some of the company their. Some of them more deserving them the richer townfolk who cut throats for weight in gold. One of his favorite people their was and old gnome women, she had a delightful sense of humer and always had something interesting to say. She was always gratful for Philo to talk to her, she was very lonely. As these thoughts were spinning through Philos head he didn,t even notice that he was only about two feet away form the table and its occupants. he non-chalantly peered over the table to examine what books were on the table. He was not the most skilled at social gatherings, that could be the reason he had none he could call his friend (except for the gnome derilect of course) He hated to interupt their minute conversation so his voices slightly cracked when said "Pardon me, sir's and mistress. Sorry to intrude but I could not help but overhear that one of you was a wizard and was curious if you all could spare me your company" He felt a short awkward pause after he spoke. He always felt silly when he made attemps like this for companionship and usually decided against taking the action altogether. His body grew tense as he waited for a responce. As soon as he finished the sentence, he wished he could take it back altogether and hide in the sactity of his work and study, where there was no complication.

The Knight Protector - March 5, 2007 06:04 PM (GMT)
Mandorallen gently took the piece of parchment from her extended hand. It read: "That's a gracious offer. I think you may be unprepared for what you're getting into. You have seen the sea of books around us? You can call me Adya."
He smiled at the writing. She seemed to be so innocent a person. The small joke, the open use of her name. And the smile she shot him was full of joy. It was nice to see somebody who was so peaceful for a change. Then the Knight caught himself. Mentally reprimanding himself for his dreadful display of bad manners, Mandorallen resolved that he would offer his name up to the girl when she got free. Everybody knew that one was supposed to give one's name after being presented with some one else's. Adya was interested in the other man's conversation for the moment, however, and so he was about to turn around and start gathering books when the man she was talking to had turned to him and spoke.
"Nice to meet you. What is your name, Sir? I am Lothemadel, Wizard and Conjurer." he extended out to the Knight. Mandorallen stepped forward and gripped the outstretched hand firmly.
"I am Sir Mandorallen, Knight and Protector." he said with a respectful bow after he let go of the mans hand.
"Tis a pleasure to meet one with talents such as those that thy mind must posess, good sir. And tis an equal pleasure to meat a lady whose surpassing beauty, truly doth grace the halls of this fine establishment." he added. As soon as he finished his repose however, yet another face arrived.
"Pardon me, sir's and mistress." he said.
"Sorry to intrude but I could not help but overhear that one of you was a wizard and was curious if you all could spare me your company." he said in a crackling voice that showed clearly his nerves. Mandorallen looked over at Lothemadel, who had announced himself as such a one that the new man was asking for. Magic was not something that the Knight was very profound at.

Adya - March 5, 2007 08:39 PM (GMT)
Adya raised an eyebrow at Mandorallen. He was certainly being very flirty. She looked up to see that yet another new person had come to join their group. He seemed aweful nervous about it. "Of course you can join us." she wrote, and handed he sheet to the new stranger. She certainly was amassing a lot of people, and alot of papers. I wonder... she thought, and began looking through the half sorted books. She was certain she had one in this stack somewhere. Ah, there it was, a chalkboard slightly larger then her head. It would save paper and she would be able to hold it up for all to see rather then hand each person a paper seperatley. She wrote out her name on the board and held it for the stranger to see. Yes, this would work much better.

Silvaris - March 8, 2007 03:35 AM (GMT)
Lothemadel looked at the fellow wizard next to him. "How are you sir. You seem like the magic type, and I hope you are ethically good. How would you like to join the Order of Istari, all of you! It isnt created yet, but soon. I am their archivist or Daymaster. It is in close alliances with the Knights of Vigiliance," he said, glancing over to the knight."You all would be good prospective members! But I am sorry, we don't have to bring me up, what is new with you?" Lothemadel looked over to the oread, knight and wizard.

The Knight Protector - March 12, 2007 03:02 AM (GMT)
Adya raised her eyebrow at him questioningly and the Knight could not help himself wondering at what. He hoped he had given no offense, but maybe, he thought, that she did not understand his archaic tongue. She then went over to a book stack and rifled through it until she found a chalkboard. After she scribbled a greeting, she held the board up for the nervous appearing man. The Knight listened to the mage speak about the Order of the Istari some more and then, when the mage offered to them all that they would make good members, the Knight shook his head. "I pray thee thy forgiveness my Lord Lothemadel, but I myself do already belong to that most mightiest of brotherhoods, and do presently proclaim myself as a Knight of Vigilance, and also, I do fear me that that situation shall change not in the near or distant future." Mandorallen said with a frown. The Knight was considerably long winded, but that idea had never occured to him, he never learned to talk any other way than largiloquently, so instead of saying things like "Sorry, I am already a member of the Knights of Vigilance.", he gave people massive sentances. The frown on Mandorallen's face was fairly reasonable as he was recently indicted into the guild as one of the Knights of Vigilance and he hated being offered to join other guilds. He also seemed to disapprove of how willing the man was to let anybody join his guild, without even getting to know them first. For all he knew, Mandorallen could be a Dark Knight bent on spreading the word of Raku, or Ita, just waiting for the opportune moment to strike them all down. But that was no reason to be prejudiced against the fellow, after all he seemed good-hearted enough, and was probably just eager for his guild to gain some renown in the world.
