Title: New in the city....
Description: open...

Na'arima Sidone - February 14, 2007 08:04 PM (GMT)
The city. A place where people, creatures, and food seem to spring up from random places. Grimacing, Na’ari held a hand to her eyes and looked around. Masses of people walked, or ran, through the square. It seemed like pure chaos, and the twenty-one year old half-dragon wondered how she would ever find any work in a place such as this one. Hand held tightly on her scimitar, she picked her way through the seemingly endless crowd. Na’ari groaned in frustration. Finding a small, empty alleyway, she ducked into it to catch her breath. Stretching out her cramping leg muscles, the thin, young, woman peeked out into the square. Her cool, blue eyes assessed possible manner of exiting the mass-havoc that went on in the square.

Spotting a place in the crowd to get through, Na’ari quickly ducked back into the masses and threaded her way through, until she reached the inn that she had spotted before. She sat down on a barrel that was resting in front of the establishment, and took out a journal.

She decided that she would write about life, and love. Na’ari took out a quill, and began to write her poems.

You
The sweet chaos
In which I find myself
You
You made me realize something
I’m not always who I want to be
You
You made me realize that I am not perfect
I am just human
You
You are my light
My love and my hope

After reading it critically, she turned the page and started a new poem.

The Big and the Small

I see my expression reflected in your face
Hope, despair, rage, passion
We are but one entity in the scheme of things
Our petty and selfish desires mean nothing to the turning of the world
Slowly but surely, it turns
And turns
And turns
And turns
And turns……..

Na’ari felt satisfied with herself, and started to doze off. This was not a smart action in the crowded square, but she had no care. “I can protect myself.” She reasoned, and fell asleep.

Slypher walked through the city. This place reaked of joy and happiness. And it irritated the half-demon. But he was smart. He knew better then to just begin attacking people in the middle of such a crowded city. He was strong but he would be no match for all of the city at once. So he walked around the city as though he was a normal citizen of the city. He needed to get to the library to recive the knowledge he needed to increase his power.

As he walked down through the city he saw something he didn't expect. A woman was sleeping. But she was sleeping in front of the inn instead of inside of it. Well... he could use some money. He walked towards were the women slept. As he got closer he slowed his pace, attempting not to wake the female the he intended to rob.

He was mere inches from the barrel she was sleeping on as he reached foreward, as he looked for where her money may be kept.

"I always sleep with one eye open." Na'ari muttered sleepily. She had been dozing, true, but when one was an assasin, you never got caught unaware. "And besides," She continued, squinting into the bright sunlight, "I don't have any money." Her eyes started to twinkle. She assessed the man who was attempting to rob her. He reeked of demon and human scents. "A half demon, eh?" She muttered. "Us half-breeds have to stick together."

The tall half-dragon stood up. Her opal hair caught the sunlight and flashed brilliantly. "I'm Na'ari." She said, and offered her hand. "You looking to hire someone?" She asked hopefully. "I've been out of work for a while."

While streching, Na'ari casually unsheathed her scimitar, just in case. She had no desire to be caught without a weapon, and, besides, she was more comfortable with it by her side.
