The wind was finally dying down, the sand that had moments before been flying around madly was now beginning its fall back to earth, drifting lazily down to join the countless other grains of sand that covered the ground of this arid place. For the lone figure struggling, exhausted, up yet another sand dune it was a living hell. For what felt like weeks, but was actually little under just one, Jess had been wandering through the barren desert, originally trying to cross it, now just trying to stay alive. The blonde half-elf had run out of food the night before and water just a few minutes ago, the water skin still just visible, lying at the bottom of the dune she was now struggling up.

Jess crested the top of the hill finally and looked before her, hoping to find something, anything green and living. But no. Once again, all she could see was sand. Just sand. But the rest of the desert was obscured by yet another dune that towered above the one she currently stood upon. Finally, it was just too much. She had had enough. Jess fell to her knees, then to her side, before rolling uncaringly down the dune until she came to a gentle stop at the bottom, her green eyes staring, unseeing at the blue sky. After nearly half an hour of just lying in the boiling sun, Jess again rose to her hands and knees, crawling weakly up the towering dune. It took ages, just hand, knee, hand, knee, but Jess eventually reached the top of the new dune and looked down at the bottom, dreading the next sight of endless dunes.

To her surprise and complete and utter joy, below her lay a massive oasis, lined sparsely with a few trees that provided a little bit of shade form the burning sun. But her eyes were drawn to the massive lake that lay between the trees. Shouting in exhilaration, Jess ran down the hill, half running, half rolling down and leaping straight into the water, feeling it rush over her, washing away the sand and tiredness. She was under there for ages, almost forgetting her need to breathe, and so she came back up to the top, her head breaking the surface of the water and taking huge gulps of air. It was only then, when Jess turned in the water, that she realised that she wasn't the only one who had found the crystal clear oasis.

"why hello there jesse." said blade as he walked out from behind a tree. "Do you need any help? or is it something you could handle?" following behind him was only his bodyguard and fly dragon. the fly dragon landed on his shoulder and his bodyguard was walking to to pool for a drink of water because of the long walk they had.
