Title: Constant Training.
Description: Open to anyone and everyone.
Arthur Pendragon - February 8, 2007 01:58 PM (GMT)
Arthur walked into the arena and noticed afew warriors here or there but he paid them no mind he was not here to converese he was here to become stronger better it was his life training to be the best going from fight to fight never giving in for a second. He went to a secluded part of the feild and laid his long sword down on the ground for it was not good to start of with out first warming up. He took off his shirt his muscles glistining in the sun. He stretched a little then started to a regime of movements so as not to stretch any limbs or things out of place. After about ten minutes Arthur picked up his sword and took it in hand. He then sighted down the blade running his fingers down the cold sharp steel. He then said," Time for us to dance once more my blade".
He then started moving through several complex forms and regimes as if fighting invisible opponents. He moved faster and faster after each opponent fell only stopping to analyze the pretend sitiuation. Afetr about 20 mintues of that he began to more complex moves and regimes to strengthen his endurance and speed and skill with the blade. He then noticed afew warriors waching but paid them no mind a true warrior was always cocentraiting on the battle at hand and couldnot be pressured to noticed other things. His mind was always on the oppoents moves, and flaws in battle. He then heard a warrior step closer he stopped and said," What do you want I need to practice if you don't mind"?
Lance - February 8, 2007 05:20 PM (GMT)
"Didn't mean to disturb you or anything...suppose that's basically one of the same reasons I came here. Been too long since I've had much of a chance," the lone warrior replied, in a calm voice that seemed to belong to a human in his late teens.
The owner of the voice had snow-white hair that fell in unruly angles around his head, held up in part by a dark blue headband that covered where his right eye would be. He wore a white T-shirt and pants, the former lined with teal blue, with a high collar and open front. Black strapped boots and fingerless gloves covered their respective areas, and at his right side lay a sheathed katana.
His human appearance ended here, however. His left eye, the only remaining, was a blood red, and he bore black, dragon-like and slightly tattered wings folded against his back, a similar tail hanging down from the base of the spine, barely dragging across the ground.
In truth, he'd only come closer because the training grounds were getting slightly crowded, which he hadn't seen them for a while, though it had been a while since he'd been here. "Hope you don't mind if I practice around here," Lance continued, resting his right hand on the hilt of his sword. "There isn't exactly much space anywhere else..."
Arthur Pendragon - February 8, 2007 05:50 PM (GMT)
Robert shook his head and said," Sure I don't mind theres enough room for every one". He looked at the boy and noticed the things about him he smield a little and thought " He has probably seen alot of battles I wonder how good this guys is oh well". Of course Arthur himself had seen few battles but ones that were harder than most. He did not have many marks from his battle but the only mark he did have was experience. He looked at the boys appearance a little more closely and noticed the wings and such and thought" Hmm possibly Half-Dragon maybe Half-Demon never can tell".
Of course Arthur was a Half-Dragon so if he did grow wings and tail it would not be for years to come probably. He then went back to working his forms and regimes moving from complex move to complex move. HE noticed the boy watching but didn't think on it. HE then saw the boy start and noticed that boy was alot more agile than himself". He smield and thought," Well he's fast but how skilled is he". HE countinued to work through his forms watching the boyy out of the corner of his eye.
Lance - February 8, 2007 05:59 PM (GMT)
Nodding faintly, Lance drew his katana steadily and with hardly a sound, giving it a few experimental swings to get used to it once more to start with, a slight shadowy sillhouette seeming to trail the blade, created from his own particular sword style, of which he was the only current practitioner of and which was passed to him by his adoptive father years ago.
Imagining a scene of battle, which wasn't hard given all that he'd been in through his almost century and a half of life, he began calmly swinging his katana, his body swerving and shifting on occasion, occasionally twirling the blade slightly in his hand. No movement was wasted, no true openings were left to be exploited even given the fact that he clearly had only one eye to see. He'd since mastered well enough the art of using that one eye just as well as two, predicting to a certain extent where attacks would likely come from and always putting himself in a position to be able to see his opponents otherwise, helped along by the fact that he was left-handed to begin with. Even his tail joined in on the battle from time to time, swinging to the side with the motions of his body and the commands he gave it, though his wings remained flat against his back. The whole time he never used his right hand except for balance, keeping grip on the hilt of his blade with only his left. He was vaguely aware that that other man was watching him from the corner of his eye, but he didn't care, whether or not the man may turn out to be an enemy, which didn't seem very likely.
Arthur Pendragon - February 8, 2007 07:28 PM (GMT)
Arthur smield and noted the boys skill. He seemed a master his flows perfect his movements fluid. The Arthur saw him switch to an unknown style Arthur noted it and then thought" Interesting very interesting". He brought his sword to his face and concentrated on a bright flame in his mind he emersed himself in the eternal flame he no longer Arthur he was no longer anything just an eretheral being in a shell. HE was immediatly in a feild with 5 armored Kinghts before him. He howevere was a Dragon his sword, became the dragons breath, the claws, the tail and the teeth. He charged and fought the knights.
Outside his void it looked as if he was goign through a delicate but complicated dance with movements so fluid it seemed like water flowing. This was Arthurs Secret Style he designed after teh Dragons. He called it The Dragons Dance. Soon his movements became faster and more fluid and ferioucous. His sword soon flashing in quickness, grace, and deadly precision. His whole body was now the weapon as was with a Dragon. This Style though did not bring on his transformation though it came dangerously close at some points but Arthur had long ago learned to control when it took over.
In Arthurs void he had finished off 4 of the Knights and the fought the other one. At this his movemenst changed and became more intense, complicated, fluid and feroucious. When the Knight was finished Arthur came out of the void and brought himself into the real world. His body was covered in sweat . HE went back to hsi earlier position having moved away from it in his dance. He then began some cool down movements with his sword so as to slow down hsi heart rate and his sweating. HE said to the boy while doing so," You are quite skilled with the blade I have not seen such technique in a persons blade".
Vaudeux Jupiter - February 9, 2007 04:16 AM (GMT)
It was an area he had never visited before, a training area. It wasn’t a common place for his personality to advance on, since it was usually littered with locals looking for a battle. Yet for some reason something drew him to the land. Also a main reason for arriving was the fact that he needed to try out some new skills. Practice was the best thing you could do for yourself. It was his aim to get better at his skills and be able to hold his own when the time came to it. His human form was weak, the Wyrm would repeat that as a constant reminder in the depths of his mind. Shaking it off the half-dragon headed into the stadium and nonchalantly looked around at the hopefuls failing their swords around hoping to make some progress.
Across the way a couple fellows were crammed into a space. For a second he watched them spar opponents at their own whim the stifled a laugh. What was the point in coming? He shrugged and headed off to the sidelines where he was able to take a seat and flip his new weapon over his shoulder. The effects of it were unknown to him, but he knew that the duke he had stole it from wouldn’t have had it unless it possessed some powers. Nevertheless the thief sat in his spot to slyly observe others then begin to polish the blade laid on his lap with the edge of his cloak. His face was hard and not that friendly once looked at from a certain angle, especially in concentration on a task.
Lance - February 9, 2007 04:40 PM (GMT)
Glancing over to the other man nearby briefly as he continued the motions with his sword, he nodded slightly, not even apparently letting his attention waver, but focusing on both things at the same time, both coming up with a response and continuing with his sword. Although, feeling that there was little point like this, he swung his sword down and to his left, standing up fully, finished for now, though he wasn't even apparently tired in the least, showing no sign of fatigue in any form.
"Doesn't particularly surprise me...this katana sword style was taught to me by my father before he died, and I'm the only one that knows it. Suppose were it possible for me to have an actual family I'd probably teach it to my kid...but then I still have a plenty long life ahead of me," Lance said, failing to mention that his 'father'...well, wasn't his real father, but had adopted him, while he'd taken the form of a human child, after he'd been kicked out of the Underworld a traitor to demonkind.
Feeling he was likely done for now unless someone happened to wish to spar, which likely wouldn't be this other man given how tired he looked, Lance glanced over briefly to a man that had come not long ago, sitting over by the side and doing naught but tending to his blade. Shrugging, Lance looked away, turning his one-eyed gaze to this other man that was training nearby.
Arthur Pendragon - February 9, 2007 07:02 PM (GMT)
Arthur nodded and thought" That would explain a bit". He finished hsi cool down as his sweating had stopped and his heart rate considerably slowed he smield a little he had finished his warm up session now for the real work out. He then noticed somone else on the field he was watchign them intently and nodded toward the man. HE said," Strange it seems that we have attracted attention". He smield a bit mroe slightly wondering who the person was.
He sheathed his sword and walked over to a stream that was a god yard away from the man who was watching them and then took a long sip and then said to the man," Your watching so intently see anything interesting in the way we fought or was it you wanted to learn the moves".
Vaudeux Jupiter - February 9, 2007 09:47 PM (GMT)
Jupiter was concentrated down on his blade, new to the touch under his fingertips. The cold steel was hard, but somewhat tempered on the sides. The weapon itself seemed strange to him. He would probably never use it, but he was just taking it out for show. After all he was in a training arena most either had weapons or were shadow sparring with themselves. If he had it his way he would most likely sell the blade and find something else more to his liking. So for now he would sit there on the sidelines, staring into his reflection while mindlessly polishing his blade under the beating sun.
Someone from across the arena headed his way and began washing off in the nearby stream. He made the mistake of glancing up from his work momentarily to see if the man was going towards him, and the man started to engage him in conversation. "Your watching so intently see anything interesting in the way we fought or was it you wanted to learn the moves". Jupiter had already went back to his blade before the man could begin to speak and when he did the thief looked back up.
Glancing at the man for a second then looking around his area, to see if he could be talking to anyone else in his area. Yet, to his dismay, he was the only one around to direct a word to. So Jupiter looked back at the armored figure standing before him, skeptical brows raised almost up to his hairline. The arrival’s words were absurd, did it look like he was “watching intently”?
“Excuse me?” Vaudeux retorted now sizing up the man standing before him. There was something familiar about this figure and his aura. Perhaps they had more in common than Vaud thought. For a moment he waited, but didn’t allow the man to repeat himself, he had heard him perfectly fine. “I was just sharpening my blade, thank you,“ His tone was filled with sarcasm. “Do I seem like I need to learn anything from you? If I needed any help I might be more wise as to ask some type of rodent before anyone else here,” His eyes traveled visciously around the stadium then landed back on the man in front of him.
Arthur Pendragon - February 9, 2007 10:03 PM (GMT)
Arthur ignored the insult and smiled and said," Well always have something to learn its a never ending cycle, to succed one must learn". He again smield and said," YEah I saw that you were sharpening your blade but I also noted that you were watching people on the feild the only reason someone does that is to know what he person is cabale of doing in combat". HE smiled again and said," But that is going about it the wrong way you must know yourself before your enemy".
He sensed a bit of familiraity toward the man but did not comment on it. He took another sip of water and said," Good day I must get back to practice a Dragon doesn't slay itself".
Vaudeux Jupiter - February 10, 2007 04:56 PM (GMT)
This time Jupiter stood up, rising to full height from his spot while he blade hung loosely at his side, shining in the warm light. According to this man, Vaud must have been staring at people hoping to steal some fighting moves. Has it already come to the days where someone can’t even visit an arena without someone thinking you want lessons? The half-dragon held a displeased smirk across his jaw as he listened to the unimpressive words of the stranger. For some reason the thief was on thin ice today and this man was assuming too much for his own good.
“But that is going about it the wrong way you must know yourself before your enemy". The other replied and Vaudeux clenched his jaw accompanied by furrowed brows. That was the last straw. The whole demeanor of the man in front of him was starting to aggravate the half-dragon. The whole fact that he was trying to counter Vaud with kindness along with a genial smile just put him off.
“Did I ask for advice?” Venom was thick in his tone that was hard to disregard. For a moment he watched the man take a sip of water and continued, “If you’re so intent on teaching maybe you should go learn your little buddy over there or go pester someone else.” The hand on the hilt of his sword tightened once he suggested this as his eyes motioned towards the other across the way. He then spun away on his heel swinging his blade in a figure eight on the outsides of his arms out of fury. Then he twisted the hilt of the Wolf’s bane loosely in his palm then readied it to be set on his lap once more as he headed back to his spot on the sidelines.
Lance - February 10, 2007 11:08 PM (GMT)
Glancing over as the other person that had been training nearby went over to that person sharpening his blade, apparently leading to a minor conflict, Lance sighed lightly. He'd never understand mortals, he was sure of that much...but then he'd stopped bothering to try some time ago.
Narrowing his eye slightly, he rested the blunt edge of his blade up against his shoulder, wandering casually over to where the two men were.
"Hope there aren't any problems or anything over here. If there are, then for the type of place this is, they should be settled with actions, not words," he said, somewhat interested to see a spar or fight, but mainly working to avoid any real conflict. Hopefully, at least...one could never tell.
Arthur Pendragon - February 12, 2007 02:40 PM (GMT)
Arthur smiled and said," No problems just a bit of word crossing I know know what I needed to know". He bowed and said," You were a worthy opponent to face in a battle of wits you will have to forgive my aburbtness I have yet to tame my mouth from saying what it shouldn't"
He bowed again and said," Sorry for disturbing you old habits do die hard". He smiled and looked at the other man and said," That man is good he has skill no deniying that don't test him". He then went back to his spot and started goign through his forms once more.
Vaudeux Jupiter - February 15, 2007 09:26 PM (GMT)
If one thing agitated Jupiter more than anything was apologizing when you did nothing wrong. It was a constant staple of him when he was younger and now when others did it he thought it useless. Not only did it make him agitated, but it made him start to feel bad about his actions. The man was trying to be friendly and Jupiter dismissed it as an insult. So, instead of acknowledging his mistake, he turned back around to watch the dragon-like man stalk back across the area. His eyes traveled down to the kid speaking brave words next to him and suddenly an idea popped in his head.
“Oh? I thought you were going to teach me something,” Jupiter sneered at the man’s back motioning towards the both of them with his free hand. “Not even going to treat me to a proper battle now after all our talk?” Sometimes it took a little pressuring from the opposing party to get things started. When the prompt wasn’t entirely successful he kept pushing, “Come on, you can’t practice with yourself forever. Not even a little fair point match?”
The game Vaud himself had only experienced in the school yard, but was a fair way to conduct things. Both players would stand, usually with a judge checking for hits and misses between the two. When he was a kid they used to play with sticks and whoever was able to breeze by their opponents and touch a limb would gain a point, the heart if touched was an automatic kill. Sometimes they would play limb-free, and that was when if a limb was touched one would have to keep playing and pretend their adversary had cut it off. It was always enjoyable to go back to the old games, especially since serious matches usually ended up in serious injuries, something the vain half-dragon wasn’t fond of.
Lance - February 16, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
Glancing after the other man as he began to leave, Lance shifted his one-eyed gaze to the man that had been sharpening his weapons...or perhaps more accurately, half-dragon or something of the like, as that other swordsman was. Interesting, two half-dragons in the same place, the Training Arena of all places. Not that it made any difference to him...as far as he was concerned, they were just two more people.
It looked like this one, however, was laying down a challenge, though in the swordsman's exhausted state it might not really be much of one. As for him...well, he had energy for plenty more, his own sword style using more speed than power with a fairly light weapon and thus not taking all that much of his energy.
Hm...well, he always took an interest in others' fighting styles, sometimes even adapting his own using some tricks he'd picked up from them to improve it, though it was still at its core the same shadowblade katana style that had been taught him by his adoptive father. And he hadn't had a decent challenge in quite a while, so this could prove rather useful for him.
"Doubt this other guy's in much shape to fight right now...no offense, of course," he said, glancing briefly back to Arthur, "so I hope you don't mind an old, one-eyed demon taking up the challenge in his place."
Arthur Pendragon - February 16, 2007 04:37 PM (GMT)
Arthur smield and said," I don't mind but once he is through with you I think I'll take my chances with him Iam not as tired as I look". He smield and said," I would liek to watch its helps me know what I will be up against". HE smield and said," If you don't mind I would liek to regain my first reserve of energy before we fight so go ahead and fight him he is more than he seems". HE laughed a little and then said," AFter that you face me for I will be ready then".
Vaudeux Jupiter - February 16, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
One eyed Demon? Jupiter thought perplexity following his gaze to the kids face for a moment then he looked away with a shrug. A match was a match, anything to occupy his time while he was cooped up in the arena. For a second he thought of denying the challenge from the other, just to be cruel, but instead he nodded in acceptance. Next he reached up to his collar and untied the knot the bonded his cloak to his back. It would be difficult to fight properly with it whipping around behind him during the parry. He let the garment slid to the ground before kicking off to the edge of the fighting arena. Next he lifted his arm up letting go of the hilt of his sword until it was up in the air, then he snatched it to change his grip so the blade was facing towards the ground. This would be so that he would be able to walk with it at his side, plus he felt like showing off in the slightest way.
“I hope you don’t mind swords,” Vaudeux said staring off towards the center of the arena with a look of concentration beginning to form on his expression. Next he smirked at the kid before starting the journey towards the middle of the arena. The mock battle would begin here, for the whole arena to see. The center was usually avoided for such reason. Most people who came to train like things more private, unless they were well trained and wanted to show off their superior skills to everyone there. Yet, Vaud chose the center for the proportional surface. It would allow them to spar back and forth with no interruption of grass, other fighters, or walls on the boarder of the arena.
Vaudeux stopped and stood in the middle of the arena, now switching the hilt of his sword over to his dominant hand. It wasn’t the best choice of weapon he could have picked since the blade of the weapon was wide and harder to swing in a swift motion. Perhaps next time he would do a little dagger train fighting. Nevertheless he rested the weapon at his side and looked over at the kid, beckoning him over to the center. It would be here they would match up and wait for their third to call go. Jupiter waited in his spot, not readying his stance until the kid stood directly across from himself in ready for the battle to begin.
Lance - February 16, 2007 09:20 PM (GMT)
"Fine with me," Lance replied as the man apparently accepted his challenge, preparing for this little practice match, one could perhaps say. Not really having any actual preparations to make for battle, simply remaining ready all the time, Lance stepped into what apparently was the battle arena for this match. Swinging his katana down from his shoulder, he shifted his body slightly so that his left side was halfway facing the man. After all, regardless of how good he was in combat and whatever other senses he had, he was noticeably blind on his right side.
"Suppose I'll let you start whenever you're ready," he said, simply staying in his current apparent open stance, sword down at his left side not far from his leg, pointed directly at the ground, the blade pointed backwards from him. He never personally liked to start things off, in part because he generally didn't know how to, having spent most of his life being attacked.
Akyho - February 17, 2007 12:46 AM (GMT)
Akyho walks up the stairs leading from the corridors that the audience come from to find a seat, not wanting to sit and feel vunerable he stands next to the wall stopping the spectators from being involved in the battles standing right infront of the steps were people enter the arena to specate he is assured he wont be in anyones way, he half sits on it looking out to the feild.
He wishes to fight but would rather get his bearings and get his blood boiling for battle befor entering the arena. Seeing that there has already been a match and there is now two men squaring off for another Akyho is glad he hasnt missed most the of the fighting.
Looking around the arena it seems that it is heavily wepon orientated which as much as it displeaees him since he shall be fighting hand to hand it also gets him exciting espeaicly if he could out best someone that has to hide behind swords and sheilds due to there own frailitys and not understanding the truth of battle and skill.
With the thaught of battle he starts to become excited wishing to blow off his excitment by jumping around and fighting, but he will have to be pateint till this battle ends.
Vaudeux Jupiter - February 17, 2007 01:46 AM (GMT)
Vaudeux shrugged up his shoulders in preparation as his opponent approached him in the center of the arena. Then he noticed it, the blue cloth secured over the kids right eye. He would have to note this once the battle began. Just as he thought this his opponent got into his stance that put him in favor and directed his ailment away from the direct line of fire. But a strange position it was. He held his blade loosely at his side, like he wanted Vaud to plunge his blade into his open chest. Nevertheless the thief merely shrugged and took a step backwards. Now it was time for the half-dragon to ready himself in fighting position.
The toe of his soft moccasin pushed the dirt along with it as he dragged his right foot behind him. Next Jupiter gripped the top of his hilt with his left hand, the bottom with his dominant right. He figured that if he was going to get as much leverage as possible out of the thick blade against his opponents Katana, he would have to have a good grip on the short sword. It was very light and malleable in both hands, but he already knew the lupine sword would take some getting used to before he could apply his skills to it. Without any real lupine to attack it would only do enough damage as a cutlery knife a butcher might use to trim meat. Despite this it would serve its purposes in defending and attacking during their light contact.
Jupiter raised the blade of his sword, pointing directly at the kids chest, his hard gave one of readiness. Then his adversary gave him the go-ahead. Shrugging in approval he exhaled deeply while saying,
“O.K.” As a final gesture for the battle to begin. For a moment the two would just stand there, unsure of their opponent and what they would do. Vaud stared at his opponents limbs, searching for any movement. Deciding to test the waters Vaud secretly lifted his front foot and took a quick slice forward across the dust. It was a fake, for the half-dragon didn’t swing or even move his blade, then he slid back to his original position. He was just seeing if his opponent would give him any reaction. Once the reaction was given, Jupiter decided to get the ball rolling by doing a straight lunge at the kid, going straight for his unprotected chest, not aiming to stab through but touch.
Lance - February 17, 2007 08:57 PM (GMT)
Glancing briefly over to another newcomer that had neared the field of battle, a somewhat strange-looking human, Lance quickly returned his gaze to his current opponent in this mock battle, or spar, or whatever one would call it.
Taking note of the man's stance, he found that, naturally, he was yet another of the multitude of people that were right-handed, Lance being one of the few that favored their left hand. In all truth, that made things a bit easier on him, since for the most part his opponent's right side would be directly in view of his sole left eye.
Then, of course, the pre-battle contest of wits began, each fighter measuring up his opponent, not making a move until necessary, at which point things would likely begin to explode in a flurry of action. Narrowing his eye slightly at the light feint, Lance held his position, not about to react to something that wasn't even the beginning of an attack. Then a real attack came, a straight lunge at Lance's unprotected chest, which, given that this wasn't a real battle, would likely be stopped short...if Lance even allowed it to get that far.
Moving swiftly and accurately, Lance swung his blade almost straight up, seeming to be holding it upside-down in his hand, redirecting the thrust to above his shoulder and holding his sword so that, while the blade was still pointing down toward the ground with the blunt edge holding the other man's sword, the guard would keep an immediate attack to the side at his head from being effective.
Not that that would matter much, though, given what he'd already planned ahead on doing. The open stance was simply in order to draw in a thrust such as that...thus, now shifting his stance down and forward quickly, he swung his blade to the right and down slightly at his opponent's chest, kicking himself off to his left to dodge under the blade that would now be freed.
Vaudeux Jupiter - February 18, 2007 05:33 AM (GMT)
Vaud, immediately surprised by the quick deflection, kept pressing onward. He was also swift to observe his opponents well planned movements. The kid traced his blade across Vaud’s, their flat edges causing friction and an unpleasant noise that screeched along with it. Then his advisory returned a blow by splicing off his blade off of Vaudeux’s and then ducking to the left. Jupiter’s mind tracked the tip of the kid’s blade, while the deflection thereby turned directly into a attack. The half-dragon was surprised by this tactic, he thought maybe he had underestimated his opponent forthwith.
An immediate reaction to the duck and strike Vaud moved to the side, following the kid’s movements like clockwork. Their bodies the pointers clicking around the clock face. So instead of the battle becoming orbital Jupiter was able to bring it back to its linear starting position. While moving he merely raised his elbows and wrists in a quick blocking attempt, that brought the hilt-end of his blade to deflect the on going touch. Now it was time to take things seriously. He had a vague idea of his opponents actions, but only time of the battle would tell.
Next Jupiter twisted his wrist from deflection mode, back around in a counter-clockwise motion. The tip of his blade spinning quickly until it was heading straight for his opponents thigh and knee region. Yet, instead of a more noticeable two handed curvature, the thief let his right hand weaken grip while his left spun the blade downward. Here he regripped and brought a slightly higher amount of power to the attack.
Akyho - February 18, 2007 09:35 PM (GMT)
Watching the on going fight finding it very boreing while there is alot of movement its in a small area the frustration of the fight mainly takeing place very close to each combatant. there is no visual excitment only for the ones in the battle, bodys just blur any decent movement leading to what looks like two men rubbing swords against each other.
Finaly being able to block out the battle decides to close his eyes and just rest not thinking not watching and only listeing seeing if he can picture the fight without watching it at the very leaste he will be able to fall sleep if the bordome gets to him.
Arthur Pendragon - February 19, 2007 02:48 PM (GMT)
Arthur watched the ongoing battle noticing the quickness and agility of the Demon and the half dragon. HE smield knowing that he would be hard pressed to win and thats what he liekd in battle a challenge of his skills. He had fought countless battles but the one he knew he was goign to face soon was going to be the most exciting. HE then noticed another person watchign the fight and wondered who it was he went up to them and sat down a few feet away and said," Interesting fight isn't it I have not seen skill like that in three years and that was in my greatest fight". HE smield and looked up at the person who looked a little broed at the fight down below.
Lance - February 19, 2007 03:13 PM (GMT)
Lance watched the man's movements especially as he followed him off to the side, shoving his left foot into the ground hard and halting himself from his sideways motion as he saw what was coming next. A thrust, starting strangely from the left hand, which transferred into the right as well and was headed straight for his upper leg. Perhaps better than he thought, but he never took an opponent lightly anyway.
Kicking his left leg that it was now headed for behind him, quickly gaining a grip on the ground with his right foot in order to do so, he kicked himself off backwards, swinging his sword on the backswing in front of him to discourage a quick pursuit like the last time. Had he not, his right side was mostly facing his opponent, blocking some of his view, which wouldn't have been very good for him at all.
However, he wasn't able to shift his body much before he slid slightly to a halt a decent distance away, out of range of the man's blade, his left foot shifted back behind him and the right slightly bent before him. Having to turn his head almost all the way to even get a view of his opponent at the moment, he held his right arm out before him, palm outward, holding his katana up at a somewhat strange angle at his side, the blade facing the ground and the tip pointed slightly to his opponent's left.
Akyho - February 19, 2007 08:45 PM (GMT)
Akyho answeres still eyes closed "i do not denie it is great skill but from my vantage point nothing is exicitng. the true excitement of battle is when you are in it the energy of both fo you, you feed each other more exciting if life is on the line but just as much so if your pride is." pausing to renestling himself for confort "there is all the small things you cannot see from here that are too small or too fast to notice little tweaks and trying to read the mind of your opponent then compensate for all, bettering you moves all the time even in mid attack."
Pushing from the piller he starts streatching and opens his eyes and looks to Arthur.
"sorry i am not one for specateing as you can tell.
Arthur Pendragon - February 20, 2007 01:12 AM (GMT)
Arthur answered," Nor am I but I do learn mutch from watching them, I prefer to be in the thick of it where my abilities are tested to their fullest". He smiled and then said," I must go back now this fight shall soon be doen I think I already may know the outcome and it is in my favor". He laughed at the thought and then went down and started again to watch the ongoign battle with great intrest learnign each mans strategy and weaknesses to battle. He smiled and thoguht< "Victory thou art mine".
Vaudeux Jupiter - February 20, 2007 07:37 PM (GMT)
The onslaught of a blade swung in his face, Jupiter merely leaned back quickly to avoid the counter, but was surprised to see his opponent retreating backwards slightly. If there was motive behind this maneuver it had worked, for Vaud was reluctant to swing back in return. Instead he shot his hilt up into the sky and blocked the swing with the bottom of his blade, the short blade itself close to his opposing left arm. The swords scraped across each other’s surfaces and, if one observed quickly, they would see a slight magnetic spark erupting from the impact. The half-dragon’s eyes lit up with excitement as the sparks flew off to the open sides and right in front of his face. He dipped his blade back down, then up quickly again, holding his guard as his opponent gained his resting position and got into his stance a couple feet away.
The one-eyed demon sure knew his stuff. But one thing that bothered him was that he was mainly for the counter-attack. Jupiter noticed that he knew how to block quite well, but he lacked something that he couldn’t quite place. Perhaps it was the motive to attack, bloodthirstiness or something of the lesser behind attacks. It was something that came with anger inside, or even years of practicing various attacks. The thief had the anger, and now it was time to step it up once more. It was time to take the kid’s aliment to his advantage. As they stood across from each other, now feet apart, Jupiter kept his blade in front of his blood, in the same spot his arms tight on the hilt to prevent it from making any movements at all. He would have to use the element of surprise.
Just when the dust around their feet had settled he acted. With a short slice across the ground, he cut the distance between them in half with one fluid movement. It was a short step led stealthily by his front foot. Once here, he acted as if he was going to swing towards his opponents left side, but as soon as his blade reached that side Jupiter spun. His back foot and head leading the way he turned clockwise backwards, his body moving in towards the kid. Once his back foot was an entire 180 degrees opposite of its first position he was directly lined up with Lance’s back. Here, accompanied with the momentum from his spin, he merely lifted his elbows, allowing the short sword to lift up itself. Vaudeux watched as the tip of the blade went straight for the back of his opponents neck…
Lance - February 20, 2007 11:59 PM (GMT)
Lance clearly failed to react at the feint swing, his eye narrowing slightly. That would be an attack too easy to counter...there was no way a man with skill at this level would do something like that. He was fast, though...the quick rush forward might've caught him a little by surprise if he wasn't ready to expect absolutely anything, as he should be.
Then the real attack came, a spin attack which he couldn't tell where it was aimed, at least immediately. But he hadn't been surviving for this long with only one eye for nothing...he'd figured out quite well how to cover his blind spots, and it all had to do with his weapon, where it was at at that moment. If his opponents couldn't figure out the secret to it...well, that was there problem. But even if they could, there would only be so much they could do about it.
Seeing through his katana a decent, though thin, image of what his opponent was doing, more specifically where his blade was, though he had to quickly shift the angle of it slightly, he ducked down to under the blades path as the man was spinning, while at the same time spinning as well, to his left. Carrying his blade to his side, he swung it up then down as his front began to near his opponent, swinging quickly and forcefully, raising himself up along with the blade as his opponent's passed over his head. However, this wasn't a fight to kill, or even injure, and with the man's left shoulder that the katana was aimed for, it would likely do the latter if it went through and wasn't dodged. Thus, his right arm still in front of him, he shoved it in front of his left hand and the hilt of the sword, quickly slowing and halting the path of the blade before it quite reached what its target would be.
Vaudeux Jupiter - February 22, 2007 03:30 AM (GMT)
Jupiter was surprised to see, when he looked behind himself up at his blade, that there was no one there to receive his attack. He untwined himself and kept swinging, hoping that the kid was still retreating from his blade in the opposing direction. Yet he looked in his short sword’s path and spotting nothing but air. It was then his nimble eyes glanced downward and spotted the head of his opponent rising in the air. Matching wits with Vaud his opponent’s blade headed up towards his left shoulder.
Rear first, Jupiter did a quick retreat, his toes dragging across the ground as he barley missed the meat and potatoes of the swing. Yet the tip of the well-planned blade was still heading his way despite his slight retreat backwards. Eyes wide in surprised he quickly released the hilt of his own blade, via left hand and shot it up at his opponents katana. A gutsy move to do since it was a strict blade battle. Yet he shot it out there soon enough to guard his shoulder from the blade. It might not have been successful at full speed and power, but one never knows until it’s the real thing. Simultaneously Jupiter exhaled and swatted the blade away with the back of his hand. Sure he had violated their silent agreement at the beginning of the battle the half-dragon took a solitary step away from the fray.
He stood more erect, his lips pursed, and eyebrows narrowed. His own cunningness countered by an act that was unnoticed by the half-dragon. It was a trick he was unsure of, for he thought he had spun in the correct blind spot that would word in his advantage. This mystery agitated him, but he swallowed hard and clenched his blocking hand into a strong fist down at his side. “Nice shot,” Vaudeux commented jaw tightened as he steered away from succumbing to adolescent forms of being the sore-loser. In his palm he felt the new warm sensation of blood beginning to squeeze out through the tops of his fingers, but non-dripping and hidden from the others. In the back of his mind a dark aura was harsh at his actions, criticizing his abilities about becoming weak over his years of travel.
Akyho - February 23, 2007 12:34 AM (GMT)
after stareing at the feild for a while looking straight at the combatants day dreaming not takeing much in. his mind snaps back to this world and notices that the match has slowed down and there dosnt seem to much intention on more fighting.
As much as his hope for battle boils up inside his chest he knows he shall have to wait a little longer but somthing may occur for his chance to battle sooner. not sure as to what is happening he shouts out to the combatants "Are yous two finished there?!" he is not sure if the winner of that match will take on the next challenger. he knows it isnt him who is the next challenger unless he forced himself first but he didnt fancy getting angry and forcefull for somthing so trivial.
Lance - February 23, 2007 04:56 PM (GMT)
Seeing the man begin to block the blade with his bare hand as it neared his shoulder, Lance quickly saw that it was a good thing he'd gone to halt the blade as soon as he did, lest the man lose his hand. As it was, the blade cut into it a little, but not so much that one would have to really worry about it.
Swinging his sword the rest of the way down as the man retreated, he forced off most of what little blood had come off onto it, wishing always to keep the blade in the best condition, given that it was a keepsake of sorts.
After taking a quick moment to think of his next move, and quite ready to put it into action during this brief lull after first blood, he glanced over to that newest spectator, who'd apparently felt the need to shout out. Well, he seemed impatient, given what he said...though as far as Lance was concerned, that was his problem. Although...
"If you're having a problem, then perhaps you should join in," Lance said, resting the blunt edge of his katana against his left shoulder. A three-way match...that would definitely be new to him, and could prove rather interesting, though probably at least a tad chaotic. "At least if you don't have a problem with it," he continued, glancing over to his current opponent.
Vaudeux Jupiter - February 23, 2007 08:16 PM (GMT)
Jupiter had ignored the man on the sidelines only because his mind had drifted off to the cut on his hand, finding any appropriate moment to conceal himself healing it. While the kid started to speak Jupiter whispered into his own palm, a couple sets of inaudible words. Immediately the flesh began to sew back together creating a clear sealant and leaving no scars. Next he proceeded to take his open palm down on his pants under his shirt like he would wipe off a sweaty palm. Right hand cleared of mess he examined it form a moment, a new path of strong shiny skin over where a huge scar would have been. Due to the strength of the spell his arm felt no strain from gripping the sword too strong or any of his travels earlier. He continued to examine his palm when his opponent turned to him in inquiry.
A three-on-three match? It sounded interesting enough. He had been in matches before where a group had outnumbered him, but never each person trying to be the last one standing. It would be one for memory and the match would most likely help him with future, more serious encounters. Besides it was only practice. With this decided he looked over to the katana-wielder and answered,
“Sure.” With a solemn nod. For a moment he glanced over at the other, the other half-dragon. Looks like he would be left out of their little light-contact sparring match. Nevertheless he shrugged and wiped his palm once more on the top of his pants, almost like he was paranoid the crimson liquid would impair his fighting abilities. Then he replaced his sword in the newly healed hand and spun it loosely in his open palm, feeling the weight of the blade and how memorable it felt.
Arthur Pendragon - February 23, 2007 09:01 PM (GMT)
Arthur had been watching the whole time and he applauded at them when the man got his hand cut. HE then lsitned to what the yhad to say and he said to the other man," How bout 4 on 4 it would be better I need to exercise this blade some more it would betetr that way besides its my turn". HE laughed and said," If thats alright".
Akyho - February 24, 2007 03:06 PM (GMT)
With the mention of a three man free for all Akyho jumped down and was on the feild walking towards the men befor much could have been said after the suggestion.
Sizeing up his two new opponents he cant help but relise pratice or no practice there is going to a great deal of sharp blades flying threw the air and heavily likely in his direction. With that thaught the person he spoke to a little eailier butts in sounding eager themself that the rules have been left more open for numbers in this spar suggesting a four man free for all.
Akyho thinks to himself that the probability of being stabbed or slashed drops greatly since the fight is more likely to lead on two groups of one on ones but with the ability to attack and use other people in the match.
As he nears the centre were the fight will start he says "i have no problem with a four way match but what i do have a problem is you are all brandashing very sharp wepons and even if those wepons land you all have nice shiney armour to delfect such blows."
he spins around a little showing everything on him as he takes of his cloak and throws it away "as any of yous should notice i am just all cloth and this dagger?" he takes it from his waist and throws it as far as he can towards the high rised walls of the combat pit landing somewear randomly "i wont be useing it, so all i have to say now is..........dont go easy on me it will only prove more exiting for me than for yous."
He then gets into tense stance "and i will my hounr will allow me to increase my chances of not loseing "Tensing up more he starts to recite a battle chant " I Akyho Mareno in use with the powerfull martial arts teaching of the Shadow Skill I am INVINCBILE!!" Mucles tense and becomes bulkier his figure now being more musculer still is streamlined with that spell it Temporarily raises his strength, speed, stamina, and dexterity pushing his body to the limits of its ability.
Obsidian Nocturne - February 24, 2007 05:49 PM (GMT)
Unlike three who had managed to find excitement in the field of blood, a certain stranger found it far more of a thrill to seat himself amongst the crowd. Many had stood with arms at a constant rise for insult and cheers however he on the other hand remained unmoving, his back loosely resting against an armchair. He had not come to participate. Von Mortem was here merely to observe if there were any with undeniable talent worthy of his cause, worthy for the Blades.
Seated above all who had paid less to see the spectacles of this day, The Nocturne lounged like a sloth in the shade at a balcony far from where a shower of blood could ever reach. Aye, it was with distance that he assured himself that he would stay far from sword's reach not for the reason that he knew not how to parry but for the purpose that he certainly knew how and possibly more. Few could truly tell from his seemingly inattentive stance. Slouched, a hand lay anchored to his features thus bearing little revelation to the sapphire irises that glowed beneath. A velvet mask had adorned his face, crafted to perfection to meet the slightest slope of every contour from the tip of his nose to the line of his ebony hair.
Idly from a distance, he watched with a gloved hand drumming against the oak rest of his seat with the audible metallic taps from several specially crafted silver rings. The tips of his fingers specifically caressed however the hilt of his blade, the Abyssmal Sunder it was called, a sword that has yet to be tainted by a mortal's internal excretions. One could never be more careful after all for there had indeed been many who had sought for his head not simply for leading a band of mercenaries but also for defying the laws of sacred morality.
The crowds had risen once more to cheer, their intermingling voices resonating like thunder across the circular rows of stone that were filled by men, women and children all hungry for feats of violence. It became evident that another had decided to join the three in a test of skill and apparently for now, arrogance as well.
Melandro leaned closer to the edge of his crude throne, lowering his right hand grasp this time to a more tainted cane known for having decapitated the leg of a guardian once. His interests were piqued, likely by the man's stance and the confidence in his words. Invincible was it? Obsidian thought to himself. Nay, not a soul can be invincible not even a god. How darkness would have struck him in anger had the rightful deity heard the defiant subconscious of a mere man.
Von Mortem smiled, eager to see what might unfold in due time. He was curious to see if the warrior's blade would indeed meet the standards of his sharpened tongue if not surpass it. Aye, not even a god for skill lies not with the spells at one's disposal but on his ability to wield it.
(don't mind me folks! I'm really just here for kicks and because I'm totally bored.)
Lance - February 24, 2007 09:18 PM (GMT)
Armor? He wasn't wearing any armor...but whatever, it didn't matter. Armor was something he had little use for anyway; it hindered his speed, it was often weighty, and he much preferred to dodge or take blows than have them repelled by a sheet of metal.
Four-way, though...that was an interesting proposition. It would likely make things more of a mess, but he himself had no problems with it. This newcomer, though, was certainly drawing attention to himself with that...war cry? Didn't seem to be able to be called much else. It wasn't as though plenty of people around hadn't come over to watch the match, standing near the edges of the set combat zone, though there were even people, he found, that he wouldn't generally expect to see at such spectacles. Then there was the man seated among the crowd, mostly unmoving...had he not made himself ever alert of his surroundings, he likely wouldn't have noticed, but it made no difference, the only thing that really needed to matter to him at present was the battle at hand.
"Well, this is certainly turning into a spectacle. A four-way match, suddenly...not the most usual thing for the Training Grounds, I'm sure," he commented, not meaning anything by it, just using it for something to say in the brief lull before all four combatants, most particularly the two just joining, were proven to be ready for this battle. They'd probably all choose a target, and it seemed likely that he would be one for at least one of them...but as for him, he cared little for targets. He'd pay attention to what was happening around him and act accordingly, and doubtless wouldn't come out of this without a few wounds.
Vaudeux Jupiter - February 25, 2007 03:59 PM (GMT)
Almost as if his thoughts conjured up reality the fourth member in the training arena stepped up to the plate. It didn’t bother Jupiter much at first, he just looked down at his short sword examining its sharp edges in the high noon sun. His ears acted like his eyes while he looked away uninterested. Then the man who asked to join started to protest about fairness in the battle. "As any of yous should notice I am just all cloth and this dagger?" If he was paying any attention to the earlier battle then he would have saw that it was light contact, if any. Vaudeux raised a dangerous eyebrow to look over at the man who was speaking. Annoyance starting to seep through his pores. He’s just trying to find something to protest about, He thought bitterly as the man started to complain about fictitious armor and his lonely weapon. It made him think about his own dagger, hidden in the top of his boot, which then brought a grin to his lips.
The man had wanted to join and if all he had was a dagger then it was too bad. If one believed they were over-matched then they should just sit out. Suddenly the man did something unexpected. He carelessly tossed his dagger across the stadium like one would throw away rotten fruit. It was a gutsy move and Jupiter wasn’t sure what the man’s reasoning was behind this, but nevertheless it brought a smirk to his face as he continued to look down admiringly back to his own blade. The half-dragon knew quiet well how he was going to handle the battle, no matter what actions his opponents took around him.
Soon the man who deemed himself as, Akyho Mareno, let out a less than intimidating battle cry. The wording didn’t impress Vaud particularly, yet the last line caught his attention. He glanced up at the man who seemingly looked larger than moments before. But it was humorous and he tried to prevent himself from exploding in laughter. A critical look later Jupiter turned away from the irritating new comer and strolled towards the corner of the arena, but stopping before he reached the stands built in hickory and holding a vast array of visitors. Many were travelers just stopping by, much like himself, and some were regulars taking a break from their own training to see the spectacle of a four-person free for all.
His soft moccasins crunched in the gravel after the group fell silent. The wolfs bane short sword swung up his arm and rested on his shoulder, catching the light and reflecting a harsh shine to any onlookers at the wrong angle. The thief stopped and merely turned his head slightly so that everyone would know that he was speaking. “Are you done yet?” He hissed across the stadium with a somewhat bitter tone. “As much as I would like to hear the blabber,” His voice was now tinted with sarcasm as his foot slid back slightly with his body turning more towards the group behind him. “I don’t want to be here until night fall.”
Arthur Pendragon - February 25, 2007 10:16 PM (GMT)
Armor sure Arthur had armor but he would not use it and he said," I have no use for armor in this kind of match". He then heard the war cry and said," WOah nice peircing noise all though I have heard better from a Dragon". HE took off his shirt which revealed LEather studded Armmor under it and he then removed it shwoing his muscles that glowed in the sunlight. His DRagon Emblem on his right shoulder shown like a gem and under it were the words," Dragon Son, Dragon Kin, Dragon Blood Forever". HE unseahted his longsword and looekd down it and went into his mantra ending with the words," Dance with me Death Iam ready". He breathed and took in the Flame and the Void becoming one with everything and soemone spoke from hsi mouth it wasn't him there was no him. IT said," Shall we start or do I have to die of pure boredom".
Akyho - February 26, 2007 09:27 AM (GMT)
With most of the praticipants in this four way seeming a touch impateint with the warm ups heavy thoughts runs through his mind if he should just kick things of with an attack as some one just to get everyone on there toes, still indecisive due to the thoughts of they could veiw it as a ballsy move and respect that or see it as a stupid foolish and cowardly move Akyho waits still in his battle stance.
One hand open just above his brow other in line with his mouth feet parted to gain the best resistance from all directions but also his feet parsed againts the dusty floor ready to put more pressure on them to move. Waiting but keeping alert on all of the fighters excitment is turning into adrenaline fueling him for what seems to take hours when its been less than a few seconds impataince finaly gets the better of him.
"Well if no one else will make the opening move!" running at the nearest person which was Lance, Akyho kicked off from the ground doing a forward flip leading into an arc with his left leg extended the right contracted aiming for the back of Lances head if this land then it will surely push his face foward and if he isnt stable enough straight into the ground.
