Xoco made his way cautiously through the rainforest, it’s many sights and sounds almost overwhelming his senses. His left hand rested on the hilt of his sword, comforting him slightly as he traversed this vast and largely unknown wilderness. Here great beasts lurked, and danger seemed to come in any possibly imaginable form. Weather poisonous plants, angry natives, hungry jungle cats, or deadly swarms of biting insects, the unwary traveler could very easily end up dead here. But, of course, Xoco was not the unwary type. He was always on his toes, especially when trying to make his way through unfamiliar territory.
Many animal’s calls filled the air. Some were birds, while others sounded like the howls of primates. Sometimes, Xoco could have sworn that he heard the celebratory roar of a jungle cat after making a kill, or the helpless squeals of some unfortunate prey. The rain beat down hard today, running along the millions of leaves in the forest and eventually making it’s way down to the surface so that it could soak Xoco to the core. His hair was wet and pressed against his face, while his clothing stuck on his frame and beads of water dripped across any exposed skin. The air was damp, and Xoco was absolutely drenched from the constant onslaught of rain. Relentless, maddening rain.
Xoco had no specific purpose in the rainforest; he was simply passing through. And yet now, the familiar creeping feeling being slightly lost began to swarm at the back of his mind. It was a terribly uncomfortable feeling, dreadful, awful. He hated being lost, hated it with every fiber of his being. While he tried to suppress these feelings, Xoco simply traversed further into the deep rainforest, hoping to make his way out soon.
Merenwen enjoyed the rainforest, even though there were many dangers here. She often felt like the dangers of this place were much easy to handle then the dangers of the cities because you were less likely to meet someone in this place where it was so easy to get lost. She had come out here to escape from the annoyances of the cities and be at one with nature. The Earth was her greatest friend, and the rain one of her most loved allies.
She was sitting in a tree watching the animals creep along on the ground. Her green bodice, tan chemise, and green breeches kept her well hidden in this natural paradise. She kept her blonde hair tied back so that it wouldn't block her view and watched as the world around her continued to creep on. She knew that many of the animals could sense her in the trees but they did not bother her for they felt no reason to bother the elf.
As she continued to watch nature unfold around her she noticed that another was coming through. She could see a man making his way through the forest and it seemed to her that he knew nothing of where he was going. The paths of the forest tended to creep in on one another and those who did not know the area became easily lost. She chose to continue watching the man rather then going down to speak with him. He was not someone she knew but from the small sight she had caught of his eyes she felt fairly sure that he was not a man who cared to be good. It eyes looked evil and gave her the sense that he might enjoy killing. At least, that is what she saw in this man.
She hoped he wouldn't sense her and would pass by quickly but didn't know what powers he may possess. If he looked up he might catch sight of her pale skin and hair, but then he may not notice anything out of the ordinary. If he did find her she would have to be careful what she did. She figured that the best course of action would be to ignore the evil she felt from him and just do what was needed to get him away from her. If it came to this she would be ready, but for now she would continue to watch.
