Title: The Lone Sailor

Joshua O'Neil - August 18, 2005 01:25 PM (GMT)
Josh walked along the docks, clutching a necklace given to him by his mum in his hand. I forget how big this place actually was he thought to himself as he took another turn into an damp, dark, alley. Hm, i don't like this place, it's too quiet compared to the rest of the docks. Josh stopped in the middle of the alley. Was that really a noise, or am i just crazy. I wouldn't be that surprised if i was. He carried on again, deep in thought, until he reached the end of the alley. He smiled, Perhaps it is just me then.

There was a long pier stretched out in front him, that he couldn't see the end of. There was a small galley at the start, with a sailor standind next to it. Josh went over to him and asked what he was doing alone. The sailor replied, "Nothing to do with you, sir, so if you don't mind, i'm looking for someone to take into the ocean. Leave if you have no business with me." Josh turned round ready to leave, then said, "How much will the voyage cost." The sailor replied, "It will be free of charge, but you will have to do lots of work." Josh agreed to this, and so soon they were in the middle of the ocean.

"Is that a Nymph?" Josh said as they passed a shape under the water.
"Very probably," replied the sailor, as he swung the wheel round. "Oh, no, there's a leak in the hull." Suddenly the ship snapped in two, and Josh and the sailor fell to the ocean. Josh was a good swimmer but the waves were still too strong for him. "Help," he cried. A dark shape swam towards where he was treading water.
"Help!" he shouted again as the sailor got dragged down into a watery grave.
Josh cried out again, but it was no use, there was nobody around. He closed his eyes and waited.

(How good was that for my first try?)

Church Taren - August 29, 2005 12:52 AM (GMT)
OOC: Pretty good. I would've described the trip a little more, and the fact that the ship just randomly snapped in two was rather odd... If you don't mind, I think I'm gonna turn the shape you mentioned into a whale (Or a shark or something), then have that snap your boat in two? If you've got a problem with that tell me and I'll edit the post.

Church soared slowly above the ocean, his seventy-meter form casting a rather large shadow over the water below. His wings gave two large flaps and he soared a bit higher, searching for a nice large whale of some sort that he could eat; he was getting pretty hungry, and didn't really feel like changing into his half-dragon or human form to eat something smaller. As such, he'd need something the size of a whale to fill him up. He saw a small boat under him, then a shadow under that. He'd avoid the boat for now, and just follow the shadow. Looked close enough to a whale to him. He tracked it for a few minutes. It was acting rather oddly for a whale; it seemed to be following the boat, which dolphins are known to do, but whale's typically aren't. No matter though. It'll make a good meal either way.

Suddenly a gigantic tail rose out of the water, snapping the tiny boat into two pieces. He saw two small figures fly in opposite directions, then land in the water. One was quickly pulled under, obviously by whatever the shape was. By that time Church had decided that it couldn't be a whale. I have never heard of a whale going after a boat like that... He had also decided that the second figure would need help. And what better way to help someone than to get a meal at the same time?

Church's wings folded in on either side of his body and he dove towards the water, mouth open wide. The creature's shadow was big, but Church was by far bigger. His gigantic form fell towards the water, and within seconds he had splashed into it, diving straight at the shadow. His enormous form had probably given the figure a good splashing, but it would live for long enough. His teeth, the smallest of which was a good meter long, buried themselves into the creature's hide. His body curled around the thing, and he stabbed his talons into it's underbelly. His tail wrapped around it, slowly strangling it. It struggled, but in less than a minute it was still. Church gripped it tightly with his talons, then swam up to the surface. His head emerged from the water, looking around for the figure. He soon spotted what looked to be a man a short ways away, and moved closer.

"Need any help?" He called out, his deep, booming voice easily carrying to the man. He grinned slightly, showing a large row pearly-white teeth. "I can give you a ride back to land, or wherever else you want to go, just as soon as I finish this meal." He brought a leg up to teh surface, still gripping the creature. A large body, resembling a whale or a fish, emerged. It looked like it was a gigantic shark, and Church wondered vaguely on how something got to be that big, but he dismissed it for now.

Aurum - September 26, 2005 08:50 AM (GMT)
Aurum soared overhead. She was small for a dragon, very small, and tired easily. She was just looking for a place she could land and rest.
Below her, she noticed a large dragon eating something. She had no desire to eat anything at all, but she descended anyway.
Hovering next to the large dragon, which was accompanied by a human, Aurum transformed halfway back into a human, only leaving her dragon's wings intact. She liked it like that.
"Excuse me," she said to the dragon, rather timidly, "But do you know of a place I could rest nearby? I can't go in water, and I'm rather lost. I could help your human here too, carry him back with me."
Aurum's golden wings were beating rather quickly, and were sending gusts of wind and water over the human.
