Title: Tracking a Lost Spirit
Description: Anyone can join
Aerwin - January 5, 2007 04:10 AM (GMT)
Aerwin squished through the mud beneath her feet as she studied her surroundings carefully. She swatted at an insect buzzing in her ear, and moments later did the same to another that landed on her arm. After what could possibly have been hours of wading through mud, swatting at insects, and pushing through the dense forest around her she knelt down and looked at the footprint in front of her. It was definitely a humanoid, and the footprint was light so it could very possibly belong to an Elf. As she studied it further she decided that whoever made the track had been there at least a day earlier, and that they were going to her left.
As she straightened she sighed and looked around the vast forest. She usually tried to be optimistic, but this task seemed almost impossible. She was looking for one of her childhood friends - the only one whom she still spoke to, and probably her best friend. She had come out here to research a herbal plant of some sort, and hadn't been seen or heard of in days. Aerwin had started to become concerned, so she came out here to search for her. She only hoped that the rumored tribe of humans in this forest hadn't found her - she had been told as a child that these humans were cannibals.
The Ranger began walking again, this time heading to her left instead of straight foreword. She kept her eyes and ears open for any sign of her friend, but felt that she was lucky to find the footprint - especially with the constant rain of the forest and the fact that Menelwe was part Elf, and Elves are very hard to track.
Menelwe - January 5, 2007 05:14 AM (GMT)
Menelwe pulled her cloak tighter around her body. The weather was far from cold as a light mist continued to rain upon her. She looked up at the dense canopy the trees formed over her head. Her vision grew blurry as small drops settled on her eyelashes.
She'd spent so much time in the higher part of the understory of the forest the past few days. Her rations were growing low and she was growing weary of the constant wetness on her skin. In truth, besides the fact that the bromeliad she was searching for was supposedly found in the higher branches, she was also trying to limit the time her feet were in the mud.
Out of the corner of her eye, a flash of red and blue caught her attention. She smiled and outstretched her hand, allowing the small poison dart frog to jump onto her palm. Its sticky appendages padded gently across her fingers before it leaped off and was lost again in the dense underbrush.

((OOC- Everything Aerwin says in this post will be in Elvish))
After fighting through the foliage for what seemed like forever, Aerwin finally came to an opening in the forest where it looked like a number of trees had been removed. "How peculiar," she murmured to herself as she examined one of the nearby trunks.
As she ran her hand over the roughly chopped wood, leaves falling overtop of her caught her attention. Her hand almost immediately went to her sword as she stared above her, trying to see through the leaves. It could be a wildcat, or one of those cannibalistic humans...or it could be Menelwe. She wasn't going to risk that it was anyone but Menelwe, so she dashed quietly into the protection of the trees again, waiting for some other sign.
When nothing came, and she had been waiting silently for a few minutes she drew her sword and stepped back into the open cautiously. A twig snapping behind her made her spin around and grip her sword tighter. Even her keen Elf eyes couldn't see anything there. Aerwin clenched her jaw in nervousness and backed slowly away from where the noise came from, which lead her closer to the middle of the clearing.
She had the odd feeling that someone was watching her, possibly a lot of someone’s. She turned her head slowly behind her, but still couldn't see anything. Aerwin couldn't help but wonder if she was imagining it, but no, there was a twig snapping again.
She continued backing away from where the noises kept coming from, and found herself backing into the trees again. A rustling behind her, and then a feeling of a cold dagger at her throat alerted her to the presence of the man behind her. She froze and nearly dropped her sword, but somehow managed to keep hold of it. The man spoke in a language unknown to her, and then made the sound of a bird whistling. A number of bird noises replied to his, and about twenty savages appeared in the clearing. Some dropped down from the trees above them, others out of the shadows of the trees.
Soon she was surrounded, with wooden spears pointed at her in all directions. The savages were painted in earth tones, the shades depending on whether they came from moments earlier. To strengthen her opinion that they were cannibals was the fact that some had a number of piercings with bones in their faces, while others merely had tattoos all over their bodies.
One savage - he was very tall, and had very long, matted hair - stepped forward and spoke in native tongue again. He motioned towards her sword violently, and she understood - he wanted her to drop the sword. She knew that she was outnumbered, and that if she didn't do as they asked they might very well slit her throat; but if the stories were true, weren't they going to kill her anyways?
The tall savage in front of her spoke again, and the one holding her pressed the dagger harder against her throat. Aerwin loosened her grip on her sword - she didn't have a choice. If she were take prisoner then maybe she'd have a chance to escape.
When the sword dropped from her hand and hit the grass with a dull THUD, the savage in front of her dropped to his knees and seized it. Two other savages moved up with rope, tied her hands tightly behind her back, and blindfolded her with some sort of cloth.
The savages led her forward, but not kindly. The pushed her, and didn't lead her on a smooth path, causing her to stumble on a rock or two. The entire time they lead she started working out a plan to get away from them, and find Menelwe.
Menelwe - January 6, 2007 04:03 AM (GMT)
Menelwe stuck her staff in the soft mud and then looked back up into the trees. Placing her hands on some low branches, she deftly hoisted herself up and then quickly navigated the branches until she was a good 15 feet above the ground. Now back to my search, she thought to herself. Her eyes scanned the bark of the trees level with her eyes for the elusive epiphyte.
Moving carefully, she leaped the short distance to the neighboring tree. After scanning the trees again, she mimicked her movements several more times until she was about 100 feet from where she had started. She was just about to climb down when she saw it. Her eyes lit up as it identified the light yellowish green spear-headed shaped flower of the plant that had attached itself to the side of the tall host tree.
In her excitement, she forgot about everything around her and jumped quickly from tree to tree towards her treasure. She did not hear any snapping of twigs, the faint shadows on the ground or even the net spreading below her. Finally, she reached her hand out and closed her hand gently around the flower known to have healing properties and some unknown still. The moment she plucked the bloom from it's stem, careful to leave the rest so it would bloom again, she felt a sharp prick on the side of her neck.
Menelwe's other hand immediately went up to touch the small barb embedded in her skin. She pulled it out and looked around. Her vision went fuzzy though as she started to grow lightheaded. In a vain attempt to stay on her feet, she grabbed a nearby branch but it broke under her weight as she started to lose consciousness. She felt herself falling through the air. Several men holding the edges of the net clutched it tightly as she landed squarely within it. As her eyelid grew overbearingly heavy, she recognized many of savages she had been careful to avoid surrounding her. One of them was holding her staff which she had left on the ground, many of them yelling but she didn't have time to try and figure out what they were saying. Unwillingly, she finally drifted off to sleep, still clutching the blossom of her beloved bromeliad.
Aerwin - January 6, 2007 11:42 PM (GMT)
Aerwin didn't get very far in her plan-making when she was stopped quite unexpectedly. The savages around her seemed to be conversing with each other, or maybe even another group. She tried to listen for anything that might give her a clue as to what was going on, but almost as soon as she started listening, they started moving again.
As they walked she noticed the ground start to get harder, and realized that they were going up a hill. She could tell the trees were thinning out because now the sun was more constant on her face. Aerwin lifted her face towards the sky and relished in the sun's warmth, for it had felt like days since she could say that she truly felt the sun. True, there had been spots of sunshine when they were deeper in the rainforest, but one couldn't actually feel the warmth, and the sun only appeared for a few seconds while you were walking. Here, however, it lasted sometimes for thirty seconds before it disappeared behind the leaves, and then reappeared again moments later.
Soon she was stopped once more and Aerwin tried once again to gain a bearing on her surroundings by listening for familiar noises. She heard the squeaking sound of wood being scraped against wood and then a savaging speaking sharply to another. The way he spoke could only mean that he was giving some sort of orders to the other. Moments later she was thrown roughly forwards without her hands being freed, or the blindfold being taken off.
She landed hard on dirt ground, and because she didn't have hands to stop herself from falling, she ended up getting a mouthful of dirt. The scraping sound filled her ears again and she wondered where she was, and what the savages were doing.
Aerwin managed to sit herself up and rubbed the blindfold against her shoulder to move it up. This worked a little bit, and she could see that she was in some sort of wooden cage that looked like it had been used for animals. There were bite marks on the bars nearest her and as she scanned the cage she saw the bones of said animal lying in a corner. Aerwin shuddered, wondering what had happened to the animal, and what its remains were still doing in the cage. "I won't be caught like an animal in here...I won't be defenseless," she thought.
She knew that the first thing she would have to do was to get her hands untied, and because she didn’t think the savages would take kindly to her asking them to untie her, she knew she would have to do it herself. Aerwin leaned forward to raise herself off the ground slightly and pushed her arms underneath her. Once her hands were as far as they could go, she leaned backwards again so that she was sitting on her fists. She pushed her body out from underneath her hands and pulled her hands through her legs. This whole process took at least a full minute of struggling before her hands were in front of her.
She scanned the area for something sharp to cut the bonds with, but it looked to her like the savages kept the place clean of those types of objects. She would have to get creative. After a couple minutes of thought and scanning the cage again, she was suddenly struck with an idea – the bones.
Aerwin stood up and walked over to the remains of the animal, looking like she was going to inspect them. She glanced behind her to make sure that no savages were near, which there weren’t. She bit her lip and raised her foot overtop of the bones tentatively. Without looking at what she was doing she brought her foot down hard on the bones. A pleasing cracking sound followed this movement and she dropped to her knees, looking for a piece sharp enough to cut the rope.
She pushed through the shattered bone to find mostly tiny shards that would do nothing but cut into her hand. Finally she decided that the bone that had given these shards would have to do, even though it was rather large. After a quick glance around again she moved her wrists next to the bone and began to rub the rope very quickly against the bone. This went on for a few minutes before anything started to happen. First only a few pieces of rope (which were more like hairs) started to break and then larger chunks until finally after probably a full five minutes Aerwin was free of her bonds!
Aerwin smiled in relief – for a while she had thought that it wasn’t going to work. She grabbed the rope and pushed it underneath the bones to hide it, and then pushed the blindfold up more so her vision would no longer be impaired.
She moved to the wall of the cage and sat in front of it so that she could see if anyone was coming and pull the blindfold back down. She felt the bars of the cage dig into her back, but she didn’t mind. The dirt beneath her was soft and dry, and she thought it might be semi-pleasant to sleep in – at least it would be better than trying to find a dry spot to sleep in the heart of the rainforest.
Just as she thought she might dare to go to sleep, she heard the dull stamp of feet nearing her. She perked up almost instantly, and then remembered that she was supposed to be blindfolded and tied up. She quickly pulled the blindfold over her eyes - but so that she could still see out of a crack at the bottom – and moved her hands behind her back so that it looked she was still bound. She moved into a more uncomfortable position and peered out the bottom of the blindfold, waiting for the savages to approach.
Menelwe - January 7, 2007 06:36 AM (GMT)
Menelwe slowly came to, her head bobbing as she realized she was being carried in the net she had fallen into. It was tied to her staff while two of the savages carried it along, one on each end holding it horizontally on their shoulders. She decided to not let on that she was awake in order to try and keep track of where they were headed.
The group walked in silence for awhile before stopping. She saw that they had approached some sort of camp, or at least where they must live since there were huts and fires lit.
The savages holding the ends of her staff were yelled at by another very mean looking and powerful looking man. They walked away with her from the main part of the camp.
Menelwe lifted her head and saw them approaching some sort of cage. "Ooof!" She was dropped on the ground, the net being pulled open.
She was pulled roughly to her feet when a man with many marking on his face and hair spiking in many directions started to tie her wrists together. He was yelling at her but she didn't understand a word he was saying. She realized that she still had her precious blossom in her hand and kept her hand clinched tightly. He yelled at her again but she still looked at him blankly.
The spiky haired man pulled her along by her bound wrists towards the cage. He quickly opened the door on it and roughly shoved her in. She stumbled forward and landed on her knees.
Aerwin - January 7, 2007 08:48 PM (GMT)
((OOC- Once again, everything Aerwin says in this post is in Elvish))
Aerwin waited silently in the corner of the enclosure. It was darker in the corner than the rest of the cage because of a gigantic tropical tree that was growing right beside it. It was so close that it was touching the side of the small prison, and if it grew anymore would start to grow around the bars. It was dark enough, and Aerwin was so still, that if the savages might not even notice her.
She listened intently to what was happening outside, and could hear the savages come ever closer until finally they stopped. Someone groaned - it didn't sound like a savage, possibly another captive? The groan was followed by a loud THUMP. A savage started shouting, possibly at the person who had made the "Ooof" noise, but no response from the individual came. There was a moment of silence, and then she heard two pairs of footsteps coming even closer. As the pair came closer, so did the savages’ voice until she could tell that he was right outside the cage. The protest of the door could be heard once more, so she assumed this new captive was being thrown into the cage as well. The door slammed shut with a bang. Aerwin thought she heard the sounds of someone stumbling and falling to the ground.
Aerwin remained silent, listening for any noises that the new prisoner might make. All she could hear was the quiet sound of someone breathing, which didn't give her much of a clue as to who was with her. She didn't feel that this entity was a threat to her, however, because the individual hadn't moved since they arrived in the cage. Could they be injured? Or perhaps they were bound and blindfolded, so they couldn't see what was around them.
Aerwin hesitated, and then pushed the blindfold off of her eyes. She blinked a couple of times to allow her eyes to adjust to the bright light filtering into the rest of the cage. Once she could see again, she looked around the barred enclosure until she found the person who had been thrown in. It was indeed a person, and a petite one, and by the looks of it. She was dressed in a dark green cloak, a lighter green dress, dark brown leggings and even darker boots. A smile lit up Aerwin's face as she recognized the woman in front of her. Aerwin stood up quickly and crossed the distance between them quickly. She kneeled down next to her and touched her shoulder, "Menelwe?"
She raised the face of the Half-Elf, and smiled in relief and recognition. It was indeed Menelwe, and it didn't look like she had been harmed by the savages. "Are you alright? No one has heard from you for so long that we were starting to get worried."
While she waited for a response from her friend, Aerwin glanced outside the cage. There was a savage guarding the gate, and Aerwin made a mental note that if they planned to do any escaping, they’d have to do it at night.
Menelwe - January 7, 2007 09:17 PM (GMT)
Menelwe blinked her eyes, unbelieving for a moment that it was indeed her friend, Aerwin. For the first time since she had felt the prick of that barb, she relaxed a bit.
She had been thinking to herself the whole time the savages had carried her back to their camp how stupid she had been, not keeping aware of what and who was around her. She tended to get lost in her own world when it came to her plants. After scolding herself, she started to brainstorm about how she was going to get out of this precarious situation.
Deciding on waiting for an opportune moment, Menelwe's spirits lifted knowing her chances were much better with Aerwin here. Though, besides being unbound, she didn't seem to be in a much better position.
After being thrown into the cage, she could not describe the relief that washed over her when she realized that the person approaching her was her childhood friend. She felt the slender fingers of Aerwin on her face and smiled broadly.
"Aerwin! I am so relieved it's you in here...well, not glad you got captured, just glad you're not another savage or a not so friendly captive." Menelwe twisted and turned til she was on her knees again and then sat back on her feet. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize how much time had passed."
She turned sideways to show her bound wrists to her friend. "Could you please help me with these?"
Menelwe blew a stray hair out of her face. "Do you know where we are? I think I know how to get back to where I came from but they have my staff."
Aerwin - January 7, 2007 09:54 PM (GMT)
After she had made sure Menelwe wasn’t injured, Aerwin let go of her face, she found it odd that she had actually grabbed her face, but she hadn’t been thinking about it being awkward, only concerned about seeing who the new person was.
Menelwe started talking, and by the tone in her voice, Aerwin could tell she was just as relieved to see her, as Aerwin was to see Menelwe. “Don’t worry; I’m relieved to see you too. It’s good to see a friendly face,” she glanced at their guard, whose face was painted in green and yellow, and had a shaved head. She lowered her voice before she continued, “Not to mention that it’ll be easier to escape with two people, than just one. And don’t apologize, your parents weren’t really concerned – they seemed to realize that you had just got caught up in the forest. I was the one who was really concerned about you. So, I left and came to find you…and stupidly got capture by these savages.” She glared at the savage standing in front of the gate holding a spear. She noticed that he had a piece of bone stuck in his face and made a face of disgust.
Aerwin looked back at Menelwe and noticed her bound wrists. "I don't have anything to cut them with, but I cut mine with the bones over there." she motioned towards the remains of the animal, which she thought might be a wild cat. "Come on, I'll help you with it."
Aerwin stood up and helped Menelwe to her feet. She glanced at their guard, who looked completely oblivious to the fact that they were even speaking, let alone moving around and talking about cutting Menelwe’s bonds. She shrugged and walked over to the pile of bones.
After a few minutes of looking for the bone she had used earlier, she successfully found it. She grabbed it and tried to pull the bone free, however, it was still attached to the rest of the creature, so it would be impossible to take it to Menelwe. Aerwin turned around and looked at her friend, "You'll have to come over here, but if you rub the rope against the bone like it's a knife, it'll cut it...eventually."
She stepped away from the remains, towards the side of the cage and nodded towards the bone she had just tried to free, “It’s still attached to the rest of the skeleton, and I’d break it like I did earlier…but I think that’d rouse our guard from his stupor.”
Teferi - January 8, 2007 05:58 AM (GMT)
Teferi had traveled from the city of Lómëdor. One may ask why a mage would travel to a rain forest, but it would be much like asking why the sky is blue. There is a meaning, but to long and boring to be cared about least to say that a Rain Forest may hold some very specials herbs and shrooms used for potions or spells. Teferi with a smooth brown hand tucked a pouch in his hand as he saw mud infested path and a small Ravine running close along side it. Teferi was not a man afaid of being messy, but if there was a way he liked to find a way to avoid the mess. Staring at the looming damp rainforest he saw the cascading green upon the brown. *Think Teferi think.......what could we use?* He thought to him stepping softly as his boots clicked and and crunched upon the hard earth. Sudddenly he wandered upon a Giant piece of Bark curved and bent at the ends reminding him of a small boat. *Boat..........aha!* He thought to himself once again tugging the Large bark boat up to the Ravine. He had tossed his long steel staff into the boat as he stared into the water. He needed to make sure it would work, Carefully taking his staff out he tossed the bark in.m It floated nicely. Now taking a foot he slowly stepped onto it testing if it would hold. Surprisingly it did and with another foot he boarded the make shift boat. with his sstaff in hand he used it to slowly guide him down the path.
It seemed like hours had passed since he first came upon the ravine, but he enjoyed it still standing and observing his surroundings. Soft yellow light dropped upon the green forest canopy while birds chirped, and monkeys screamed in a frantic boom. Teferi not a fool kept an eye for savages of this land. at any moment they could ambush him and....pending he was either food or fodder. Thwater was still besides his disrupting motions an omeniscent sign that something was stiring the forests spirits today. His eyes took heed to the grounds now next to him. He smelt the burning of flesh like a boar.....or a human. Quickly taking his staff out he docked himself to land. The ground was soft, air murky, and his sight was was filled with tears from smoltering smoke. He could vaguely see what was ahead of him but heard a rustling behind and to the sides of him. suddenly with a stinging pain in the back of his bald head he fell unconcious to the ground.
Three Savages grabbed him and hoisted him up. slowly they began to carry him near the camp where huts circled a large fire. Upon the fire were humans being roasted over flames. The woman tended to the children who ran around and screamed wildly. It was a primative society of savage canabalists, but it was in all the same organized.into a monarch. The Chief sat in his throne of skulls wearing a mantle of mixed blood red hides. His face bore blood stained markings, face barbarically pierced with sharp bones most like sharpen and vut off of passing victims of the forest.Teferi's body was dangled and tossed to the ground as the Savages lowered the cage and brought out their spears. Scream unaudible things at Aerwin and Menelwe. kicking them back cornering the women in the cage they tossed Teferi in with them. His fancy sophisticated robes and and unaged complexion would strike a difference apart from these pale peach skinned women. His dark skin put the forests brown dirt to a shame as it was smooth and silky like whispng cream. Slowly the Savages began to lift the cage back up as Teferi lay still unconcious.
"Teferi........ Tell me how does a Planeswalker as yourself find the time to do all you do?" A mysterious man draped in shadows spoke inside his dreams. The world was cascaded like a night sky and the world below them was asleep. Teferi drifted freely in the sky staring at the man silently. No emotion was spent until teferi cracked a smile, "I founf time in time itselfUrza........." A heavy blue and silver robe man replaced the shadowed figure. His face slightly aged as he bore a blonde beard and moustache, short blonde hair, and deep blue eyes. "Speaking to yourself in a dream I see......" The man knwon as Urza joked and slowly walked closer to Teferi. Funny thing was that he could think outside of the dream was he was looking upon himself and the Urza like a god. Urza grabbed his shoulder, or what was supposed to be him. "Another time then my friend.....he is watching....." Both peered up at him and as confused as he was in the dream he awoke to the same confusion. "He is watching? How can I be....Ow.....my head is killing me.." Teferi groaned rubbing the back of his head noticing two women elvish in appearance. He gave a smile and grin saying pleasantly, "Oh....." The smell stinging his nose he looked around seeing the cage he now sounding almost dissapointed replied to himself, "Oh......Kills the Elvish Amazon fantsy........ Well one can dream...." Returning his attention ot them he sighed and introduced himself, "Hello I am Teferi a Court Mage....... And I am guessing you two lovely ladies like me do not enjoy cages much either."
Menelwe - January 8, 2007 07:08 AM (GMT)
Menelwe shuffled over to the bones Aerwin had shown her and leaned back to utilize them. Feeling with her fingers, she found a protrusion and hooked her bindings over it and started the seesawing motion across the sharp edges.
As she worked, she talked to Aerwin in elvish, not really thinking that the savages would understand them, just that she fell naturally into the language with her friend. "I'm guessing if we wait for nightfall, we'll have a better chance. Both of us have better vision at night than they do so even if they followed us, we'd probably be able to get away."
With a last tug, her wrists were finally free and she moved her hands around to her front. She opened her clenched fist and saw the slightly battered but still in tact bloom. She smirked and held up the flower to show Aerwin, "I finally found it when they caught me."
There was shouts and the savage that was at the door of the cage moved aside. Menelwe grabbed Aerwin's arm as she backed into the corner Aerwin had been occupying when she had been thrown in herself. For a few moments, Menelwe felt panic. What if the cannibals pulled them out and did goddess knows what to them?
They hadn't come for them though. A tall, dark man was shoved into the cage with them. Menelwe still gripped Aerwin's arm. Who was this man and was he friend or foe?
Then he spoke. At first, Menelwe didn't quite understand him. Then he spoke words that she did understand, "Hello I am Teferi a Court Mage....... And I am guessing you two lovely ladies like me do not enjoy cages much either."
Menelwe relaxed her grip on Aerwin, this fellow was funny. "Hello Teferi. You are correct in your assumption that cages are not our preference when it comes to dwellings." She smiled. "I am Menelwe and this is my friend, Aerwin. We both come from the city of Yomenïampa."
Teferi - January 8, 2007 11:48 AM (GMT)
Teferi smiled lightly and Menelwe as she replied then noticed he did not have his staff, "Oh.....bugger.....This will make escaping difficult." Checking his side the pouch was still there and his general book of spells lay neatly inside his robes. his black palm sturdly gripped the cage walls. They were steel bars, but how could Savages have steel? Maybe it was spmething they found wehnce ambushing their prey. "What ......... to do......." He sthought alooud before going through a book of general spells. He rememberd seeing a potion or formula to cause rusting. Alas he did not but he did get an idea. "Don't worry Ladies I think I have a way out of this.
He quickly began to shake the cage and yell disturbing the guard below. The Guard grunted and shouted at them tossing up a rock banging against the bars. Teferi Grinned at the women for after a few minutes the cage began to lower. When it hit the the forest floor it banged shaking them. before the guard could look he threw Menelwe flat to the bottom of the cage and put his finger in front of his ace making"shhh" noise. The Guard a bit wary grabbed his spear and yelled them. Teferi waved pointing to Menelwe trying to make him see her laying unconcious. The giard feeling it was a real stituation strutted over slowly. Teferi noticed the Savage peering into the cage. Reaching into his pouch he grabbed some sort of root. It was from a fungus and it was a powerful acting angent in some glues and things that required hold. When this root came into contact with salt and water it thickedned and almost instantly dried into rubber like solution when in contact with the air. Crushing the bitter root in his hand he tossed it inot the wide eyed face of the Savage who became blinded. A disgusting bit of oozing bronw goo began to form overh and in his eyes sealing them shut as he struggled screaming. Teferi smiled grabbing the back of the Savage's head and slamming it inot the steel bars. The Guard became unconcious and Teferi unlatched the cage moving it to the side and opening it. Stepping out he grabbed the Guards spear.
Now standing upright the dark man could be seen in his magical wonder as he slowly led the girls out. "sorry if I did not consult you on this but now is a better time to escape.....at night they mass, and we are dinner......" his eyes scoped the surroundings where he saw equipment being stored. He slowly tip toed over seeing his staff and and everyone elses wuipment even those of the dead. Staring back he smiled at the rest. He then saw a small child outside of the village who hhad been now screaming and darting back in. "Oh....bugger.....Hurry! Hurry...... We need to run right about now......." His hands gripped his pole and he prepared for a mad dash when they were ready. The likely chance was that the child would be bringing everyone after them to the hunt, and it was not Dead or alive.....they would insure dead.
Silvexian - January 8, 2007 07:49 PM (GMT)
Silvexian was crawling through the rainforest in Metal Bug Form. He was here because he had to get to the other side, so he was just passing through... at least, that's what he thought. As he heard a clank in front of him, his red eyes scanned the area. A spear was stuffed before him into the ground! Looking up, he saw himself lifted up and thrown into a small net. Savages had captured him inside, but Silvexian had an idea. First, he would see where he'd be taken.
As he was moved on, a tiny cage was seen. Fit for about 1 and a quarter his size. He was then tossed in it, still in the net. This would pose a problem. The cage was too small for his Water Dwelling Form, and Human Form! He couldn't break the net, or the cage!
Teferi - January 8, 2007 09:15 PM (GMT)
The young savage boy from before dashed into the front of the Chiefs throne of skulls comletely exhuasted from his mad dashes. Falling to the hard cracked ground he stared up yelling up in the Savage language saying, "The prey.....has......escaped....." The chief big and bulky from muscle mass gripped the boys throat staining the childs neck in the black slime and grime that infested his hand. His eyes dark and black gazed into the crying boy seeing no lies. Carelessly he tossed the child to the side causing him to thump on the ground. Grabbing a giant axe with a blood stained blade that would resemble an executioners axe, but very crude and made of twisting wood. He used this giant ten foot monstrousity in battle heaving it effortlessly.
Meanwhile Teferi had gathered the women and slowly led them around the dark edges of the forest. "This forest is home too many things.....I much rather face a Barbarian brood rather than this forests finest......these Savages falling into that category. creeping closer and closer near the huts he snuck behind one and peered off in the distance seeing this giant man weilding a monstrous axe. "My.......I guess.....I guess..... avoiding that would be a big goal today." He whispered to himself as he always did. However they were close to where Silvexians cage was and he could see them stooping and ready to escape. No one knew this person was a man......or what he was......Metal bugs were not a usual find in a jungle, but there had been more unusual things.
The War Chief stood in front of his pepole with a raised giant ten foot bone shredding axe. He raised his axe up high and yelled signaling a hhunt. Everyone in the village grabbed arms even children and the old women picked up tool to hunt. They circled their leader as his massive bulk parted them like a river. He began too approach the flame where the human had been roasting. Grabbing an arm he tore it clean off letting blood stain the unfertile ground. His smile was wicked and he bit into the shoulder of the arm ripping away the meet and sucking it in to his blood gushing mouth. The muscles and tissues were filled with juice and marinated in the thin sauce of blood coating his face. He was proud and triumphant roaring a blood curdling roar shaking the ground. His axe was firmly implanted in the ground His eyes filled with hunger.
Teferi thought and pondered trying to keep the hidden. If they ran now they risked being lost in the Rain Forest......He was not familiar with everthing with what surrounded them......What could he do to solve this problem....moreso how was he going to live to tell about this. He rubbed his head and watched the War Chiefs performance of brutality.
Aerwin - January 8, 2007 11:56 PM (GMT)
Aerwin glanced at the crumpled looking bulb in Menelwe's hand, and then looked up at her face in disbelief, "I came here for that? You must be joking..." A smile played on Aerwin's lips, letting Menelwe know that she was only joking.
As soon as she finished speaking a series of shouts from the savages could be heard from outside the cage. Aerwin turned around to see a man with dark skin being thrown into the cage with them. As she watched the man she realized that Menelwe had pulled her into the dark corner again. She hadn't noticed even being pulled into the corner, but now that she was there, she was glad for it. Although he didn't look like a savage, she didn't know if she could trust him or not. He may just be one of their prey that had been captured in the jungle, but even if he was...could he be trusted?
Aerwin found out soon that they could, especially when he talked about escaping. She was just about to tell him that she and Menelwe had already started discussing a plan to escape, when he started shaking the cage and screaming like a madman. Aerwin grabbed onto Melewe's arm again, suddenly fearful that he might by stark raving mad, and that he really was one of the cannibals.
Before she knew what was happening the cage had been lowered and she fell back against the bars from the force of the cage suddenly being thrust to the ground. In the next moment he had Menelwe on the ground and Aerwin's eyes widened in fear for Menelwe's safety. She didn't see the motion he made to her, so how could she know this was all in his plan? Aerwin wanted to move forward and check on her friend, but was fearful of Teferi, and didn't want to do anything to make him attack her. She glanced at Menelwe, to make sure she was all right, and she seemed to be, which relieved her.
The savage's screams alerted her to something else happening. The only thing she saw was Teferi slamming his head against the bars. Aerwin darted forward towards Menelwe. "I think he's insane," she muttered in Elvish.
She straightened and saw Teferi standing outside holding the guards spear. She immediately thought that he was going to try to murder them and clenched her fists at her side. Although she was without a weapon she could still defend herself if need be.
"Sorry if I did not consult you on this but now is a better time to escape...at night they mass and we are dinner,” his voice sounded kind, but she found herself disliking the man.
Aerwin stepped forward tentatively; he did seem like he wanted to help them, not kill them. When she was certain he wasn't going to lunge at her with the spear she stepped outside quickly. She was certainly glad to be out of that cage. "Are you out of your mind?" she asked him through clenched teeth, "There are scouts all over the place - any one of them could have heard the ruckus you made. If you had just discussed this with us we could have done something together."
Teferi started tip toeing towards a shed, but Aerwin stayed beside the cage. She didn't know what he was doing, and she still didn't trust him. Moments later she saw his entire body tense, and knew something was wrong. Aerwin sighed and swiftly ran towards him to hear him say, "Oh...bugger...Hurry! Hurry... We need to run right about now...”
Aerwin gave him a confused look, until she saw the child running back to the rest of the camp. "Oh no..." she fell into her native tongue of Elvish and grabbed onto Menelwe's arm and starting hurrying towards the forest.
As Teferi led them around the forest she couldn't help but want to say, "What did I tell you?" but kept her mouth shut. She noticed him speaking again and looked towards him.
"This forest is home too many things...I'd much rather face a Barbarian brood rather than this forests finest...these Savages falling into that category."
She didn't say anything in reply to him, but looked over at the savage's camp where the Chief was signaling a hunt.
"It doesn't look like we're going to have much of a choice, are we?" she told him as she watched the Chief in disgust tearing off the human limb, "We'll have to face the forest, or the Savages. I'd much rather face the forest..."
As the Savage's came closer, Aerwin knew that they had no chance of fighting them, even if they had weapons. They were out matched five to one, and with that Chief's giant axe, she didn't think they'd have much of a chance. She glanced around for someplace to hide, the only place that she could see was the trees. "We don't have time to linger here. They will find us if we don't find someplace to hide soon." she wasn't directing the speech towards anyone in particular, but she thought it needed to be spoken. The Savages were getting closer ever moment the lingered. "The only place I see to hide are the trees. I know that it will be quite impossible to climb the trees - they are gigantic - but if we can find some bushes..."
She didn't wait for any affirmation from the other two before starting to hurry into the trees, searching for bushes to hide in.
Teferi - January 9, 2007 01:29 AM (GMT)
Teferi sighed as Aerwin had not waited for him. Staring at the massing War Chiefs host he dashed for a bush. This was not going to work. Hell if it was just going to draw attention as he was thinking he needed something else. He saw the Metalic bug just then. Intriging maybe he could use it as a lure...... Without thinking he jumped on the cage and pryed it open with his staff. "Ok now you distract the Canibals while I save my skin!" Teferi joked to the bug he had no idea was actually a man.
The War Chief circled the camp smeling the air trying to maybe catch a sent something unusual or in any aspect to them..... not rotting. The Axe he dragged on the ground now carving a long path that parted the earth. He roared in a foul rotting breathe. Blood and black grime dripped form his mouth leaving his teath slowly decayed in appearance. He peered closer and deeper into sheds and even crahsed his axe straight through a hut wall. The twisting cuastic smell fumed the air as he neared. It was very sickeninng.......
Teferi kept in shade hoping the metal bug would get to moving and give the others an escape headstart. "You two......run....I will make an escape....save yourselves...." He told them as he turned in their direction. His hazel eyes flared with life.....He knew that this was going to end in battle.
Menelwe - January 9, 2007 07:16 AM (GMT)
Menelwe followed Aerwin into the bushes. She knew her friend was not a fan of climbing trees but she thought to herself that if she could gain some height she could have the advantage of knowing where the savages were.
Her eyes quickly spotted a tree with low lying branches and she ran towards it. She had no intention of leaving her friend or their new companion seeing as he had freed them from their situation. With a swiftness, she shimmied up the tree and then jumped to another, navigating through the branches as she went higher up.
When she felt she was sufficiently high enough and hidden, she looked down and met the eyes of Aerwin, who was also barely visible. Then she turned her attention back to the War Chief who was making a big display of aggression, taking out a wall of a hut.
Teferi stood almost a foot taller than Menelwe and was much broader than her as well but this man, this savage, ...he was big. She shuddered as he let out a guttural cry of rage.
She scanned the area. If she could only get back her staff and Aerwin, her sword, they'd be in a much better position rather than helpless prey waiting to be hunted.
Silvexian - January 9, 2007 12:44 PM (GMT)
Silvexian was glad when Teferi broke the cage open, and the only thing he really could do was repay him. He leapt out of the broken cage. He needed a fighter, and a fireproof one too. So he then crouched, and flipped over. On his back, he spun in the air, causing a whirlpool of water. Out of the whirlpool came Silvexian in his water dwelling form. He was moist on his skin, and had water flowing through a second set of vains directly under his blood vessels.
Seeing a sword nearby, he charged to it, not knowing it belonged to Aerwin, but thinking it was property of the savages. He tossed it to her. "Use it to defend yourself!" He didn't notice the staff. On his arms, there were sharp razors. He shook his arms and extended them. For extra defence, he grabbed his dagger. "Come to me...." he said, taunting the savages.
Teferi - January 10, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
The War Chief hearing Silvexian foolishly challenge him grabbed his great ten foot axe aiming it at the water dweller. With one elongated arm the Chief arched it back with the axe in hand. Using the weight with his and his strength he sent the great tip of the axe blade spearing through the air. Teferi taking quick action jumped in the way tackling the water Dweller out of the way. "Fool! Do not think I do not appreciate the thought, but......" The Axe came plowing into the ground next to their faces smacking dirt up at them and leaving the axe jutting. "....... That is why you do not anger a mob." Teferi finished a bit worried and rushed knowledge he had did not help him here. His mind fueled in thought....his magic was still weak..... what could he do....
Meanwhile the War Chief with an oozing bloody black smile began to roar on his followers and ran. Buckling his knees and springing into the air the War Chief cleared half the great distance as his feet implanted into the cracked earth. Yanking each boot free he continued his charge as the others followed close behind. Teferi picking himself up sighed things were getting worse by the moment. Grabbing his staff and the water dwellers slippery arm he began to ran. "No fighting!!!" He shouted beginning a mad dash. They had no chance......... unless they could run upon elvish territory.....the rangers would bow down the mobs quickly, but it was unsure.
Cypher - January 11, 2007 01:19 AM (GMT)
Cypher watched from afar as the strangers were running away from what seems to be a savage tribe. Cypher decided to remain hidden in meantime and watch where these people were heading. For they were awfully close to his elven homeland. Croching low among the trees, he followed the strangers. He held his sword close to him incase there was a need for action. He did not know if these people knew about his elven kingdom, but he knew that it would be hard for them to get past the elven guards along the forest path. He needed to warn them later, but for now, he observed them from afar incase they were foes instead of friends. Moving silently, Cypher followed the shadows and made sure he made no trace of himself behind.
Silvexian - January 12, 2007 04:23 AM (GMT)
Silvexian quickly dashed up to a tree, taking a fire arrow to the back. It only felt like a scratch to him, as it was a smooth surface (think of a softball, only softer) and he was "fireproof." He then leapt up to a tree and swung up to another branch. He ripped a twig off and threw it at one of them to distract them before climbing around the tree, holding on with hands and legs before slowly waddling up. He then got on another branch. There were a few vines that he could use to swing to another tree. He grabbed the first and avoided an incoming spear. He then leapt to the next vine and got onto the branch. He slid down the tree and hopped over a bush. More savages! He saw a spear and grabbed it before charging at one of them. He then got in a spear-to-spear fight with him. After a second he knocked him down before being grabbed from behind and bound in ropes. He was then carried along. He then swung his legs to loop around and shake free somehow. He then managed to use his razors and cut the ropes. Silvexian drew the spear and stuffed it under one of their arms. Then he kicked his hand and stuffed that spear under the other arm. He then grinned before grabbing a longer rope and tying the spears together. Before leaving, he stuffed the spears down into the ground deeper.
Aurox - January 14, 2007 08:27 PM (GMT)
It was then that Aurox began to walk through the Rainforest. He saw multiple savages, sometime with a spear climbing trees, and a few others, one male and two females. There was also a sword buried in the ground. He got under a deeply shaded tree and ducked behing his huge wing. He suddenly began to slowly creep over and peek through the bushes. Because of his Evil Alignment, he saw that the savages were most likely who he should be working with. He then grabbed a spear and tossed it at one of the other people. A savage grabbed it, obviosly the owner of that spear. Suddenly, his arms were grabbed. "Let go of me rockheads!" They threw him against a tree and held his arms there. They then tied him to a tree. "Let go of me!" Aurox's eyes flared in hatred. One of the savages grabbed a boomerang with a sharp edge and held it to his throat. Aurox silenced and breathed hard. It began to get harder and harder with every breath. It then came when they grabbed some kind of hankerchief and tied his mouth shut. Aurox was really getting ticked off. He tried to move his wings. He pressed his lips forward to make it loosen up and slide down his face. The savages luckily had looked away. They had thrown a spear. He recognized the one being aimed at. Silvexian! So he was also against the savages? Strange... By the looks of the others, they were of the Good Alignment. Silvexian, he knew, was Neutral. Aurox himself was Chaotic. So what would he call the savages?
Silvexian - January 15, 2007 10:36 PM (GMT)
Silvexian ran before getting caught in a trap and being pulled all the way into the tree Aurox was found. Silvexian was hung upside down over a branch. "Aurox?!" He grinned before swinging on the branch and cutting the vine he was hung on. He used his razors and climbed down the tree. "Well, I guess you don't even deserve this. As long as you help defeat these guys." He cut the ropes holding the angel to the tree.
Teferi - January 16, 2007 05:28 AM (GMT)
The Savage War Chief growled taking the ground around him and tearing it away as he dragged the war axe like a toy. Teferi obviously flushed saw that the opportunity was now. Standing still he slammed his staff into the ground staring deep at the War Chief. Whispering an incantation he used his Staff as focusing point for mana to flow and focus like an absorbing power matrix. The Staff gave a glare and above them was a large wisping shadow dragon making a cracking roar and shooting out bits of flame here and there Teferi's eyes glowed with amazement it worked....His Illusion worked, but he needed to scare away the savages.
Lifting up his steel staff twirling it he pointed it at the War Chief and his rushing mob of savages. "Hellkite of Bogarden! Attack them as I command you! With the fury of the Caustic swamps and flaming stones of your Hearth light these fiends aflame!" The Illsionary Shadow Dragon swooped down with a clap and crackle of flames bustling from it dark nostrils. The Savages backed away in fear as the Dragon Snapped at them purposely missing. The War chief looked back and growled and returned his focus back to Teferi. Unknown to Teferi this War Chief gave a black tooth grin and rushed forward with his Gargantuan axe and sped forth.
As the War Chief made a persistent charge at him Teferi could only think of where he thought this creature from. Bogarden was not a place in Arda, but he knew it well as Bogs and a volcanic flames came to mind. What was this.......where was this...... Many things of this variety questioned him in an aching sense. "Teferi focus.........." a voice snapped in his mind spat as his illusion faded and the War Chief gave him a wind and bone breaking blow to the stomach hurling him into a tree indenting it. "You.......Food.....For ...MY TUMMY!!!" The War Chief growled aloud in a victorious motion raising his Axe in a Swinging motion.
Teferi was baffled mind rattling with sharp sting pain like an augers blade twisting turning in his head. He coughed up blood into his hands as his Battered Blue and silver robes swayed in the thumping of the ground as the War Chief closed in.
Silvexian and Aurox were close just as the others to see this. Hopefully something, someone, even anything would save him. A kitten.....even a goldfish would be a much delighted distraction to help save him. He could only look up now and in a bloody he curse he spat, "Oh buggers....."
Cypher - January 17, 2007 03:35 AM (GMT)
Cypher watched the movements of the War Chief with his keen eyes. Cautiously, Cypher climbed onto the tree branch closest to the War Chief. Breathing slowly, he prepared himself for what he was going to do next. In his left hand, he held a small stick. Carefully, he made his aim and threw it down at the War Chief. The stick hit the large warrior on the head. He then lept to the next tree top to avoid being seen. He landed perfectly and crouched down peering down at the large warrior who stood dazed from what had just happened. The War Cheif stupidly looked around at where the stick had fallen. Cypher smirked and awaited to see what would happen next.
Teferi - January 17, 2007 05:07 AM (GMT)
The Giant War Chief looked around confused by the stick he took in a big waft of air. His sense keen arrowed in on the elven being with a sneer. "Elf make good jerky!" Roared taking his Ten Foot axe swinging it in a sideswiping motion quickly. The The axe seemed weightless in the arms of the War Chief. What ungodly thing gave him the power to posses such terrible strength? What was it that shaped these people into heathens. It was far from known.
Meanwhile Teferi groaned gaining his vision back in double as he was still dizzying and his ribs in pain. Taking his left arm he supported his chest and with the right lifted himself up with his staff. "These wretched mongrels......fetid knowledge retardant fools......" He spat furiously letting the fresh blood drip from his mouth. With a few whispers he healed minor wounds around his body, but not enough to fully heal his cracked ribs he still cradled. *Sparkle dome hurry it along now.* A voice in his mind rang of a very taunting woman. It sounded familiar, but yet he did not know. *Do not lose it now Teferi.....do not lose it now.....you need to stay focused.* Were his now confused striving thoughts.
Savages were now pulling back into a charge from seeing the fake Shadow Dragon was just a mere illusion. They needed and army, a calvary, they needed something or they were surely doomed. If the Elf that had rescued him was smart he would obviously call for help from the rangers in the deep marshes of this rain forest.
Cypher - January 19, 2007 05:16 AM (GMT)
Tristan looked widly at the approaching savage army. He kenw that if he did not figure out a plan, those strangers would be toasted. He jumped down infront of the strangers.
"Hurry, we must get out of here, an elven look out is nearby, if we reach their border in time, the rangers will protect us." He grabbed the wounded man and started heading off.
"Let's go!" He yelled over the roar of the savages. Lookging forwards, Tristan looked for the most easy path for thme tot ake. He then caried the injured man and lept forwards.
Teferi - January 19, 2007 10:22 PM (GMT)
Teferi smiled up at the Elf helping him. This man saved him, but they needed to get away faster now. Mumbling words under his breath, "Strengthen!." He spat letting blood spray picking himself up with enough or even more strength than he needed to carry his weight while gripping his staff firmly under his dirt plastered hands. "Elf point me out the destination..I am sure the other will follow.....i am sure that I will be able to Get myself there in time before my spell wears off." He held his chest still feeling the pain, but it was obviously easier with a magically mana charged strength. Looking back now he saw the War Chief raging.
"FILTHY ELVES!!!" The Goliath man yelled letting his vocal chords screech out the last guttural sounds. His eye narrowed at them filled with his......vengeance.....hunger....a blackened tooth, blood squelching, mad grin. His axe made a loud swish as he sent it crashing down on the land clearing a cracked grooved path a mile in length from him. It was clear this man was not a normal human something surreal and un-human was a stir. The eyes of their foe...this War Chief began to take a furios flaming amber glaze like a blessing of darker things to come. His arms tensed and his bulk began to mass as he grew a bit larger and effortlessly yanked his Giant axe free letting the dirt fly off the blades crimson edges.
"Not good..........We cannot completely go through with a fight with that.....I can feel the Mana ripple from him....something...or someone is fueling this beast.....some fowl work is making its presence....look at those eyes.....Mana....Mana is glowing from them..... It is unnatural he channels it with no effort." Teferi explained running.
Close behind the War Chief the savages came close. The first to pass the Chief found his head and shoulder to no longer be connected with a thud and blood sprinkling cleave from the Chiefs massive axe. The speed it was in no doubt tremendous. Te grit on his fingers dripped off with ever bit of blood that soaked it. The Chief darted at his own people warning them not to follow this was his hunt, but there were a good dozen who did not want to obey the warning and stepped forward to confront him.
"You.....all...FOOLS" the Chief fumed out with a steaming breath, The twelve savages were fairly young grinning, but this mockery was a challenge to the chief and he roared, "MY PEOPLE WANT FOOD!......and you will fill that request....." A yell seemingly aloud and pointed at the non savage intruders, but with a swift twelve seconds the twelve found spontaneous body parts missing and gushing blood. "Eat my people.....FEAST!" The Cannibal Lord bellowed full heartedly turning his back to them showing the others his blood drenched body as he slurped the meat from an arm devouring every muscle, tendon and artery with one swallow. Now he bit onto the bone of the arm letting the dull and end become sharp with a snap. Chewing the piece of bone grounding it with his teeth like chalk he swallowed reading the arm for a spear. Behind him The twelve who decided to rebel were jumped upon and being eaten alive by a fighting crowd of their own.
Teferi gasped. It was brutal.....so very wrong to do such to your own people like that. *Keldon aint fear nothin.....We have hearts of warriors.... We are strong.....We will win past any stretch, and our mountain will sing in our glory.* The voice or the woman before roared in his head as if he should remember this, but he could not think to who it was... Like a thunder cracked in his mind he shook his head and returned to the run he seemingly stopped in watch of the bloody event.
The War Chief arched his arm back aiming with a smile and saw the elf.... He would nail this one in the chest. He wanted this Elf's head as a trophy. He wanted to kill them all. Now like a rangers bow the bone whipped forward spiraling spearing at Cypher....... Breaking the wind it whistled and its bloodstained image blurred straight in his direction aiming true to the Elf's chest.
Aurox - January 20, 2007 01:16 AM (GMT)
"Fine, truce, well, for now," said Aurox. "But after this you know what we're going back to!" Aurox dashed under his wings and grabbed his Instrument, hitting a savage in the side of their neck. He heard a shout from above, and it was foreign. Aurox looked up. He saw savages leaping off the tree onto him! Aurox dashed out of the way. He noticed they were holding onto the handles of spears, and a strong rope around the blade of the spear prevented them from dropping. They were stopped 15 feet off the ground. Aurox grinned and flew up, slicing the ropes and knocking the savages to the ground, narrowly avoiding a spear from the ground. Another spear hit his wing and made him drop. He reached up and grabbed a rope. The spear had gone directly through his wing and went out the other end. A sudden flying razor sharp boomerang flew in and cut the rope, allowing Aurox to fall. "Got to catch some air..." He managed to slowly drop, and grabbed his weapon before releasing his air and coming down right on a savage with his sword. It just happened to be the one who threw the boomerang.
Cypher - January 20, 2007 04:33 AM (GMT)
Tristan was surprised at the spear heading towards him. He had no time to get out of the way. He was trapped, his legs would not move. He raised his hand in hopes of defending himself, but just as he raised his arms to sheild his face, a dark image stepped infront of him. In a plit second, he heard the shatter of the spear against a hard object. As he looked up, he saw soemone standing infront of him with a large roud shield placed ahead which blocked the spear. Tristan looked closely at the figure and saw that he had pointed ears. Tristan smiled, for he knew that the elven rangers had come.
The elven ranger which had saved Tristan's life raised one hand. And suddenly, out of the corner of Tristan's eyes, he saw elven archers appear out of the tree tops with bows pointed towards the savages.
Silvexian - January 20, 2007 04:43 AM (GMT)
Silvexian saw multiple bows behind a tree. They had a mark on them which was translated to mean Hunger. The savages owned these. Around him, elves were everywhere. Silvexian tried to grab one, but savages knocked him about 30 feet away somehow. He managed to get up, and saw one of them about to fire a barbed arrow at Tristan. He jumped in the way and took the arrow apart by slicing it with a razor on his arm. He landed on the ground and saw them about to launch multiple more. He pulled hard on some bark all in one piece and used it as a shield. The arrows were fired and got buried in the shield if the ground wasn't the one catching.
Cypher - January 20, 2007 06:50 PM (GMT)
Tristan suddenly spoke in a tongue that would sound weird to everyone.
"Nai thel thingole." He said. It was elvish in his homeland for, we are no enemies. Two elven rangers jumped down and grabbed Tristan and carried him off away from the battle that was erupting. The elves numbered more then the savages, and one by one, the savages were cut down. Tristan gazed at the stranger he had tried and save. He too was being carried off by the elves.
"Do not worry, we are safe for now," he said to the stranger. He looked across and saw a hooded figure walking towards them.
"Tell me, why is an elf and a human travelling on our domain?"
Silvexian - January 20, 2007 08:54 PM (GMT)
He then came head to head with a larger one. He grabbed his dagger and shoved it into his arm. "Chain Binding!" he motioned, causing the chains to fly through the air and capture his leg. "That'll hold you!" Silvexian leapt away and ran, remembering to get his dagger ready. He headed to the other two males. "Let's move!"
Cypher - January 21, 2007 07:59 PM (GMT)
OOC: Why are we running from the elves?
Silvexian - January 21, 2007 09:16 PM (GMT)
Cypher - January 22, 2007 01:34 AM (GMT)
OOC: Oh, okay.
Tristan looked up at the elf.
"I found the human in danger and sought to help him out. For I bring news back to the Elven Lord of Falgor of the outside world. I so happen to come by this human and helped him out." He looked up at the other elf,"I suggest you let me go, for I am Tristan of the house of Avernus." He smirked, for his household was well known by many elves from other kingdoms. The name Avernus had never died in history. The great elven warrior who founght against great odds long ago when the stars were still young.
The elven ranger let Tristan go.
"I am sorry for the misunderstanding. I am Lale, Commander of the Rangers. Come, we should discuss this else where. My men can handle the savages."
Tristan looked for his human friend.
"Follow." He commanded to the human.
Silvexian - January 22, 2007 03:37 AM (GMT)
Silvexian grabbed his dagger and leapt onto the side of a tree and pushed off, landing on another tree and jumped back to other, and again to the other. Once more of this and he was at the top. He leapt across the trees to follow the elves. This was it. The chase.
Teferi - January 22, 2007 05:29 AM (GMT)
Teferi in a daze standing next to Tristan looked back and saw the elves volley arrows and the Savages their spears. "We should retreat into the Elvish homeland, and come up with a strategy before battle. "I have no doubt that the Savages best us now so close to their camp." He told his elvish friend quickly now watching the Savage War chief.
Th War Chief as before hoisted up his gigantic axe, but this time with a magically imbued might. It was then a whisper clawed at his ear of an old man saying, "Stand back now now.....leave them alone for now....I have plans." The Giant brute shivered at the words and turned back yelling at the savages to fall back. Though the savages listened something was wrong about it as the savages gathered back.
Over the scene miles and miles away in a spire a man waits wading over a globe cackling shrouded by darkness, but even with his fragile state of age he casts a ominous feeling over everyone. This was all going to plan. :Yes....the forest will be mine...... Elves will crush under my might.... they will learn..." The elderly voice boomed in his dark room staring into his glowing globe. Something was going to happen and none of these warriors would know.
((OOC: Sorry for the short post I was busy.))
Menelwe - January 22, 2007 07:56 AM (GMT)
Menelwe watched from her hidden perch high up in the trees. She was in no position to help these men and quite frankly, she'd probably just get in the way. Her talents were not in battle but she could probably hold her own if she could just get her staff back.
She scanned the savage village. People were flying everywhere, savage and elf alike. Then she spotted it in the chaos that ensued below. The glitter of a jewel embedded in the tall staff caught her eye. Something was happening now though. The savages seemed to be pulling back. If she didn't act soon, she'd miss her chance.
Menelwe jumped down, landing softly and soundlessly on the ground and then took off in a mad dash towards her beloved piece. Upon reaching it, she wrapped her hand around it and pulled it out of the ground it was embedded in.
A female savage noticed the female elf and ran towards her. Grabbing the staff as well, Menelwe found herself in a tug-o-war with the dark woman who screeched at her, exposing her blacked teeth.
Menelwe's head pulled back some as a look of disgust crossed her face. Her grip never wavered though, intent on getting back her staff.
(OOC:Sorry for my absence as of late.)
