Karas - December 24, 2006 06:04 PM (GMT)
(i know there is no christmas in arda but karas is from an island which is not in anywhere in arda and he has a christmas.)

Karas had went to the Kaima Inn. He walked up to the counter and rented out the entire place. He tossed a bag of gold on the counter in front of the man. "This should be enough. I am renting out the inn for two days. I am planning a party for everyone who wants to come." The man took the bag of gold and weighed it and left. Karas then went and got some decoration, and a spruce tree and decorated it. It took him only a matter of a few hours to set up the decoration. He then walked into the bar area and told the bar keeper to stay becuase he willl need food and drink for the nights. Karas also told him that he would be paid in full for his services. The bar keeper agreed. Karas then walked outside and got a person who stands outside and tells the news in arda and told him to realay that there was a party being held in the Kaima Inn and all were welcome. "Now it is only a matter of time for people to show up. I may not be from arda, but christmas is still christmas no matter where I go."

Xoco was happy in spite of himself. He enjoyed wandering this time of year. The humans were always partying and certainly more light-hearted, and there was often free drink to be found. Such seemed to be the case in Estolad as he strolled through the streets in his human guise. There were soft lights in almost all of the small cottages that lined the narrow pathways of the village. A deep blanket of snow cloaked everything in a perfect, crystalic white. A chill blew in the air, and he noticed several humans stumbling drunkenly through the streets. He smiled, noting the inn from whence they came. Shrugging, he decided to pop in and grab himself some spirits.

Xoco strolled into the pub and noticed as a humanoid figure was conversing with the bartender. A rather large sack of gold was laying on the counter, and the bartender’s eyes seemed to flicker between it and his customer. Xoco heard the word “party” and smiled. Free drink was definitely easy to come by this time of year. Xoco sat at a table in the corner, waiting to see how this scene might unfold. Finally, the bartender snatched up the large sack of gold and stuffed it in a small metal safe for good keeping. Xoco waltzed casually up to the bar and asked,

“To what do you owe the favor of such a large supply of coins?” Xoco motioned towards the safe. The bartender motioned towards the humanoid. Xoco recognized him from somewhere, but couldn’t put his finger on it. He shrugged, turning his attention back to the bartender.

“That gentleman there’s rentin’ out the whole pub, he is. He payed for drink and a party for two whole days!” said the bartender. Xoco smiled.

“Well then consider me the first guest at his party, and grab me a pint of lager,” he said. The bartender served up the drink and Xoco grabbed the handle, taking a long draft. He smiled as the ice-cold liquid trickled down his throat. Removing the glass from his lips, Xoco strolled over to thank the humanoid who had paid for this party.

Umbra - December 24, 2006 09:28 PM (GMT)
(((*takes picture* Umbra's first Christmas)))

Umbra walked through Estolad. The frigid temperature made her pull her coat closer to her. She saw the Kaima Inn and quickly made her way towards the door. She was met with a boy who said there was a Christmas party at the Inn. She looked at him strangly as he ran off. She shook her head unsure of what "Christmas" was and ran towards the Inn. She opened the door and was met with a warm fire. She shivered. "Uvvvhhhh....Its freezing out there. Man...When did it get this cold? Its the coldest I remember." she said to the bartender as he helped someone. That gentleman there’s rentin’ out the whole pub, he is. He payed for drink and a party for two whole days!” The barkeep said. She turned and saw Karas and smiled.

"Now it is only a matter of time for people to show up. I may not be from arda, but christmas is still christmas no matter where I go." She realized that the person she thought was crazy a few moments ago was Karas. "Christ...mas?" she said annunciating the word like a child would sound out a word when they were learning to read. "Whats Christmas Karas?" she asked questioningly

Karas - December 25, 2006 03:19 PM (GMT)
Karas looked around and double checked to make sure everything was in order. "Ok, evrything was ok. I hope people show up." Karas turned as a man he had seen before was behind him. “To what do you owe the favor of such a large supply of coins?” Karas smiled and laughed. "Xoco good too see you, and the answer to your question is, I am throwing a party. I see you have already took the advantage of lager, go right ahead. This is a joyous day for me. Now if you will excuse me I have to set more stuff up." Karas walked away and began to put more things up to make the rooms look more nicer. He was doig this for about five minutes when a familiar voice rang. "Whats Christmas Karas?" Karas turned around. "Umbra, Welcome, and the answer to your question. Christmas is a joyous time from where I come from. We celebrate a holiday for the birth of our god. It is also a time where people get together and converse about things, and exchange gifts. This holiday only comes once a year and it is the most joyous for my people. Now please come in and sit by the fire, I will get you some food and drink." Karas walked away and behind the bar cooked some food and made some hot ginseng tea and gave them to Umbra. "Here please eat and warm up."

Umbra - December 25, 2006 05:26 PM (GMT)
Karas smiled as he turned and saw Umbra. "Umbra, Welcome, and the answer to your question. Christmas is a joyous time from where I come from. We celebrate a holiday for the birth of our god. It is also a time where people get together and converse about things, and exchange gifts. This holiday only comes once a year and it is the most joyous for my people. Now please come in and sit by the fire, I will get you some food and drink." He answered. He seemed understanding as Umbra tilted her head confused while listening to his answer as it sank in. She smiled as he finished explaining and she finally understood.

She looked around at the decorations as he went to get her something to eat and drink, "That sounds like a great holiday. If it is alright with you I would like to celebrate this holiday with you and your guests please." she said taking the food and tea and sitting by the fire on a chair. The warmth soon reached her as she sipped the tea. It was one of her favorite types and the food was delicous. "So Karas, what does one do on this holiday?" she asked curiously wanting to celebrate this holiday properly.

Karas - January 3, 2007 06:36 PM (GMT)
( in know it isn't christmas anymore but i would like to finish this up)

"So Karas, what does one do on this holiday?" Karas smiled as he was happy to know that Umbra was wanting to learn this holiday. "Well Umbra, this holiday friends and family get together and converse, they share stories, sing, dance. and just have plain fun. It is also a time where we all get to rest for awhile. Oh and exchange gifts like I said before. My gift is throwing this party for everyone who wants to come." More people came in out of the cold and did what they normally do in pub or inn. "There are many more holidays like this Umbra but this is one of the most favorite out of the year." Karas got up from his seat and walked over to the piano. "Umbra listen carefully I will play one of the songs of this holiday." Karas sat down and began to play. The song was so soft and elegant. As karas played it some of the women folk began to cry and they each whispered on how sad the song sounded to them.

Umbra - January 6, 2007 01:21 AM (GMT)
Umbra listened intently as Karas explained this strange holiday that he was celebrating today. He obviously was pleased that she was interested in such a holiday and his culture, "Well Umbra, this holiday friends and family get together and converse, they share stories, sing, dance. and just have plain fun. It is also a time where we all get to rest for awhile. Oh and exchange gifts like I said before. My gift is throwing this party for everyone who wants to come." he said smiling.

More people entered the inn and began to eat and drink, obviously word was going around. Whoever that boy was was obviously fast for at least two dozen travelers and citizens were here. "There are many more holidays like this Umbra but this is one of the most favorite out of the year." she nodded as she took another sip of the tea. She drank slowly which gave her the time to think about what Karas was saying. To be with family and friends...A good holiday to have. And it is good to rest but... she paused for a moment, Gifts...His is throwing this party but what gift do I have for him? This holiday is so new to me how would I know what to give Karas. There must be something I can give. she thought as she finally swallowed the drink.

Karas got up from the chair beside her and walked over and sat at the piano the Innkeeper had. She could tell this holiday was special, it made him seem different to her. Almost childlike or something, she could not put her finger on it but the half dragon was different then the man she knew. "Umbra listen carefully I will play one of the songs of this holiday." he said as he began to play. She walked over and closed her eyes, listening to the sound of the music. It seemed to have a depressing tone for many women began to cry at its notes and whispered on how sad the song was to them. Umbra however was not one for music, heck she could barely play that panpipe thing she had as a child but she certianly was not one to know much about music. Wether it was sad or happy. Although the tone made something inside her feel strange, almost as if it was crying its heart out over the music. She smiled. "It is a beautiful song. Please. What is it called?" she asked placing her right hand on the piano top while he played.

Karas - January 7, 2007 10:56 PM (GMT)
Karas continued to play. "The name of this song, "What child is this" this song was created to rejoice the birth of my peoples saviour. The mother and father traveled so many miles to get where they needed to have the baby, when the king found out that a baby was born that was rule over the people of the land. He had ordered the baby to be killed, but they didn't go. So the baby was born and the people around them that saw it rejoiced." Karas played it came to the end of the song. "There is so much more to the story but it takes some time to tell becuase I am telling the end of the story."
