Title: Top 5 Giveaway Results!

Lothlómendil - December 21, 2006 05:27 AM (GMT)
Alright, it's past midnight now and I've been watching the stats page like a hawk since it changes at midnight. I have the results just as they were in my time zone before the change, and I'd like to congratulate our top 5! The results were as follows:
  1. Alba Meria - 120
  2. Aaris - 93
  3. Xlyesia - 88
  4. Obsidian Nocturne - 85
  5. Puppet Boy - 68
Picture :xmassnowman:

The posting going on today was outstanding! 6 pages full on the active topics list, and a grand total of 776 posts made today! :xmasw00t: I was disappointed to see a few of the competitors not doing very much RPing and doing more OOC posting, but I did as much spam control as possible. Next time some of the unfairness that made it through despite the heavy watch will disqualify people as soon as it becomes a problem, so keep that in mind. I'd like to give an extra congratulations to Alba and Aaris, the top two posters, because they really did some hard-core, high quality RPing, they deserve a big round of congrats from everyone.

So, you're probably all wondering what your awesome Christmas prizes are? Read on to find out!

#1 - Amulet of Baul'Dae's Imprisonment
A very ancient and powerful relic, one must be either very fortunate or very unlucky to have come across such a dark treasure. Trapped within this amulet is an ancient demon by the name of Baul'Dae, one of the oldest demons of Arda, captured and imprisoned inside by a powerful priest. He was a master of shadow magics and a follower of the Dark Lord, Raku. He was well-known for his physical prowess in battle, a berserker that fought in a blind frenzy of obliterating strength. For his destruction and joy in killing, he was hunted and trapped inside this amulet for the rest of time.
The wearer of this necklace is granted the responsibility of guarding this demon, or summoning him out to bring terror upon Arda. The burden of keeping the demon wears heavily on the amulet bearer, regardless of how the wearer is aligned and uses the power granted to them. This strain makes the wearer much weaker physically after only a short amount of time, gives them haunted nightmares, and will begin to plague them with fears of enclosed areas until they develop full-blown claustrophobia.
The two eye-catching rubies in the eye sockets of the skull on the face of the amulet are rumored to entrance any that gaze into them too long (more than 10 seconds) with the Feeblemind spell, just as looking into the eyes of the demon used to do. Often, a set of angry red eyes are seen staring out from within the amulet though the rubies.
When the demon is summoned out of the amulet he can only remain loose for 30 minutes at a time, and must spend 12 hours resting inside the amulet before he can be released again. When out he is under your control and susceptible to your suggestions, but he has his own agenda - fulfilling his bloodlust by bringing his warring frenzy of destruction upon your enemies. He is a very powerful fighter that wields a Barbarian's Heavy Blade in each hand, his skin hardened and tough to protect him. He comes armed with the following spells: Claws of Darkness, Summon Greater Shadow, Summon Shades, Globe of Darkness, and Inflict Wounds. It is rumored that if he is summoned too often, he may begin to influence the amulet wearer and eventually possess them, trapping their soul inside the amulet and taking control of their body, thus freeing himself.

#2 - Aina'karythar's Scale Mail
This expertly-crafted mail armor is scaled for both great protection and flexibility, and made of mithril. The holy armor was worn by the ancient priest Aina'karythar that hunted and trapped the demon Baul'Dae, a piece specially made to combat the evil that the demon brought upon his victims. It is blessed with the Protection from Shadows spell, and blessed with the ability to protect its wearer from the Feeblemind spell that Baul'Dae inflicted upon those that gazed into his eyes.
While wearing the armor, your life force becomes slightly stronger, allowing you to withstand more damage in battle before becoming critically wounded or near-death. You are also granted a faster hit recovery so that even when facing an opponent that can fight with a weapon in each hand you are able to maintain your defensive front. Lastly, this piece of armor grants you use of the Unsummon spell.

#3 - Bag of Holding
This bag is an extremely rare treasure that, though small, can hold what appears to be an infinite amount of items. Even if the bag is filled with many objects inside, they never damage or even touch one another, and the weight of the bag is never a burden. You cannot put living people or creatures inside, the stress of the other dimension in the bag cannot be tolerated by living creatures and they will die a particularly painful death. You must be careful not to try and reach into the bag yourself, you may fall in. It is best to get items from the bag by tipping it over and letting them fall out. Telekinesis can help you bring out the item you wish without having to dump the contents of the bag, or risk reaching into it.

#4 - Double-Headed Returning Axe
A lightweight, double-headed axe that is balanced for throwing. Enchantments placed upon this axe allow it to return to its owners hands like a boomerang when thrown.

Puppet Boy - December 21, 2006 05:32 AM (GMT)
Yay, congrats everyone. Zenith had that clenched firmly by the time I even got on.

P.S. I did all the rping I could. I do have to wait for people to reply to my rps.

Alba Meria - December 21, 2006 05:33 AM (GMT)
:frantic: I LOVE IT!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH LOTH ^_^

Demetrio Vasquez - December 21, 2006 05:33 AM (GMT)
Congrats everyone!!!

I was one post off but nice to see the good winners!

Obsidian Nocturne - December 21, 2006 05:34 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the two-headed axe, I think it would be very useful. I tried to go by the thread subjects as much as possible and even attempted to make a relatively long post for the rp forums but the rankings were just waaay to close to be comfortable. So yeah I must admit I'm guilty of not being able to play as ideally 'noble' as I'd like to.

Aaris - December 21, 2006 05:34 AM (GMT)
My evil charry got holy armor XD lol

*drools over Alba's gift*

Hmm to trade, or sell, or give to Yumi..that is the question..meh I'll figure it out laters after I get sleep ._.

Obsidian Nocturne - December 21, 2006 05:46 AM (GMT)
I wish it were a competition of quality over quantity though... but hey, just so you know, I also had much fun... spamming... somewhat.. legally.. ish.. though.. not ... right.

*sighs and just retires to shoveling artificial snow* :xmasshovel:

Alba Meria - December 21, 2006 05:46 AM (GMT)
My hands are in great pain, but boy it was worth it for that item O_O Alba going to pwn Zenith now hehe.

Demetrio Vasquez - December 21, 2006 05:48 AM (GMT)
That amulet is the ultimate character development plan though maybe a pain for your inventory stash if you add description. Though I'm drooling over that axe. If only...

Pfft, we am I jealous of? Nice job Alba.

Lothlómendil - December 21, 2006 05:49 AM (GMT)

Xlyesia - December 21, 2006 03:41 PM (GMT)
Thanks Lothy, for hosting the event!

I had fun yesterday, and like Obs, I too agree it should have been quality over quantity, but it would be hard to manage it (if it's even possible!). Thanks everyone, thanks Lothy again! I'm lovin' those prizes!

I'll add it :D I was waiting until activity cooled down because if I edit your profile while you're posting, you could end up short changed by a post or two.

Congratulations to everyone who won! I think those are all great gifts, though of course the greatest gift of all is the bag of.. I mean, is that you got to really write and roleplay about your characters in a really significant way! :)
